LOVE the idea of the book, LOVE the design, LOVE everything about this book.
This is such an important book to have, especially for little girls to read and be inspired by. I really enjoyed the wide range of experiences the women in this book lived and appreciated the diversity shown in the book. What I appreciated the most was the stories of "less-known" woman who changed the world. Definitely recommend.
I have enjoyed the previous volumes in this series and found this one to be a terrific addition! I appreciate the focus on immigrant women, as it is important to give non-immigrant children a different perspective than their own and to show immigrant children the power they have. Highly recommended, particularly as it is intended as a read-aloud.
I first would like to thank NetGalley with providing me a digital ARC of this book to read and provide feedback on.
Secondary disclaimer, I truly think this is a book that should be read in paper print format, not digital. I know ARCs are not meant in anyway to be perfect copies of the final work, but the formatting came out jumbled on every device I attempted to leverage when reading. So I am only able to provide a review of the story content of this book. Which is a pity, as if the layout and design work is anything like the first book in the series, I am sure it is gorgeous.
That being said, each of the stories are written at the perfect level for a child to enjoy and be able to appreciate the accomplishments of the individual immigrant woman. Care was taken to write about struggles and hardships faced but in a non-scary way, which is appropriate for a bedtime story book for small children.
Overall, I definitely can see myself adding this book to the list of gifts (that currently includes the first book in this series) that I send to my friends’ children for birthdays and holidays.
Absolutely loved this book. Whilst my daughter might be too small to read this one with just now I can’t wait to buy her a copy when she’s bigger. These are the stories that our children need to grow up knowing. Look forward to going back now and reading the other books in the rebel girls series.
The formatting was so off using the Kindle app that I honestly could not read this. Which is disappointing because I'm sure it's amazing like other Rebel Girls books.
My daughters and I love reading these empowering stories about immigrant women! Not only does it help them (and me) realize how amazing women are and how impactful we can be to the world around us, this volume will also help them to be more mindful and sensitive to the injustice and prejudice that is often times felt by immigrants. Win Win!
5 out of 5 wine glasses.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
I've not read one of these books before but this one makes me want to go back and pick them all up, regardless of the fact that I don't have children! Pointing out the value that immigrants bring to society is so important right now and this book does such a good job of inspiring you to believe you can make a difference no matter where you come from. I'd never heard of around 50% of these women before and they're all amazing. Such a great series.
"It took me quite a long time to develop a voice. And now that I have it. I am not going to be silent."
Sounds like a quote from a Disney Princess but id love to break it to you that it is not so, this is one of many inspirational saying found in the book. I can't even begin to tell you how much i loved this book. The stories of real life heroines who rebelled against the cruel society to correct it and make their own place in it.
These women left their home country or were forced to so they could make themselves unbreakable and return home better than before. The stories were always with a hard start and a cheerful end. How brave these women are! I can't even explain How Much I Feel inspired by them.
This book is not just the best good night story but also a source of inspiration and hope for the women today, so they too can read for themselves that the impossible is indeed possible!
These short stories are perfect for elementary and middle school students who are interested in learning more about immigrant women who have changed our world. If I taught younger students, I would definitely add this to our classroom library.
The third book in the fantastic series 'Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls' follows 100 immigrant women who changed the world!
From activists to chefs, neuroscientists to spies, and politicians to ballerinas we have an amazing selection of wonderful women to discover.
These women changed the world in their own way, leaving their home countries for various reasons wether it was to look for better opportunities or that they had no choice but to leave. These women worked hard and now serve as inspirations to many young people.
Notable Irish woman in the book are :
Eileen Gray (1878-1976) - Architect and Furniture Designer
Ireland to England & France
Sara Mclagan (1856-1924) - Newspaper Editor
Ireland to Canada
Samantha Power (Born 1970) - Diplomat

Karen Core (Born 1969) - Billiards Player
Northern Ireland to England & United States of America
Geraldine Heaney (Born 1967) - Ice Hockey Player & Coach

I had only heard of one of the above women before reading this book so I loved hearing all the others stories.
Of course it was great to see all the women from other cultures and backgrounds be portrayed in this book making this not just night stories for young girls but a book I think anyone at any age would find interest in.
Each woman is illustrated by a different artist with their own unique style which adds another layer of beauty to this amazingly out together book!
Thank you to Rebel Girls and Netgalley for an early eArc of the book!
Yet, another brilliant book by Rebel Girls. A superb compilation of Immigrant Women all around the world. It was a great reading experience, all the women mentioned in the book motivated me in so many ways - they made me think, they made me write my goal down, do the action, be myself, and most importantly inspire others around me. The adorable illustrations, along with the quote, just brightened up the book. I will highly recommend the book to young minds. Keep rocking, Rebels!
Imagine a nighttime read-aloud with your children that will offer them beautiful stories of strong, courageous and brave women from all over the world. Now imagine that the more your children hear about these worldly heroes, the more they want to grow up to be just like these amazing women. Look no further, “Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World” is exactly what you need. This book will inspire, encourage and entertain children of all ages, as well as the adults who support them.
I really enjoyed this collection of immigrant women's stories and how they changed the world as we know. Accessible for middle school age kids, I think this will be a good read for parents who want to introduce their kids to the changes in the world, immigrants, female empowerment, as well as a good classroom read. As a librarian I think we will have to push this one a bit.
This book is fantastic! I highly recommend this book to everyone and all libraries, especially school libraries. Empowering for those who identify as women and believing they can make a change in the world as well.
Great bedtime story book about amazing women. Some inconsistencies bothered me a bit, such as some had year of birth and death (if deceased) and some did not, and some had location of the person and some did not. The variety of accomplishments of these women, as people in general, is greatly impressive and wonderful to teach young people about.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World is the third book in the New York Times bestselling series for children by Elena Favilli and consists of the tales of various women who left their home in search of a better life. Each story is one page long and is concise enough to hold on to the attention of a young reader. 100 stories for a 100 nights will leave the reader inspired because these women's struggles prove that resilience is worth it.
With beautiful illustrations and Stories this book lives up to the expectations we have after its previous predecessors.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this children’s book in exchange for an honest review.
I first picked this up as I enjoyed the premise of having something to read to my own daughter and teach her about all those incredible women out there whose names are not as known. And this book did exactly that.
Told in a story manner starting with Once, there was this girl named .. we explore the lives and achievements of 100 different women around the globe. Athletes, singers, activists, artists, a good mix of various personalities that did sth noteworthy!
The only thing that puts me off is the title. I wouldn’t call all women in this book, a rebel and that to me felt a bit misleading as I don’t believe in individualism let alone becoming rich an act of rebellion. But that is just my personal opinion.
Also, sadly, the kindle version did not provide the reader with the illustrations which I think would have accompanied the book greatly.
Thanks again for this opportunity! And Happy publication day!
I just can't get enough of these books. The artwork the stories, if you have already read the other two books you know how it works. Beautiful Artwork by different artist to go with a story about an immigrant woman who did something major in this world. I love the stories and it makes it an easy read to you children before they go to bed. I loved this one just as much as I loved the other two.
I absolutely loved this book! I don't have kids (yet) but when I do I will read this to them no matter what their gender is! Such a great book and illustrations about strong powerful women!
I loved the first book in this series and this one lived up to my expectations. I love reading books like this because they are quick and you get to learn so much from them! Thank you so much for sending me this ARC. I can't wait until it comes out because the ARC formatting was a bit strange.
