A really great read since right from beginning to the end. The book caught my attention from the first chapter on and kep interesting all the way to the end with a very strong plot and strong characters with potential. The descriptions was made so good I could see"the story in my mind.
This is neither King Arthur’s Avalon nor your typical Angel book although many of the biblical angel names are used. This caused a bit of disconnect for me.
What this is however is an entirely new twist on various mythologies with a tremendous amount of descriptive worldbuilding. Those two things make for an interesting read. What I missed was more character building and backstories. To be honest, it made it difficult to become really invested in the characters (and I really wanted to.)
. There are some pretty big gaps and unexplained events which I’m not going to list in case they are covered in the subsequent books. Personally I needed them addressed in order to move onto any subsequent books. I can only imagine with all that worldbuilding that something has to give but character development shouldn’t have been sacrificed. I could not shake the feeling that I’ve read this book before: Angel and special human/witch cycle through multiple reincarnations in order to find each other with a demon trying to keep them apart.
I’d recommend this book for the creative mythologies and beautiful worldbuilding if that is what you enjoy reading. I’d place it in the genre of clean YA SFF. I received a ARC copy at my request from #NetGalley—Thank you.
angels and avalon is a book I didn't like at all, I don't know but IT WASN'T FOR ME, I took some time to read it because I was a little busy but I feel like I lost my time just because I didn't enjoyed it, I don't recommend it but it's just my opinion, just try it and see it n your own
Angels and Avalon is a great read that's fast paced and cleverly intertwines religious mythology with fantasy and action. The plot moves well, my only gripe is that due to the span of time the timeline does become confusing at some points which could be planned out better and it feels like some character development is skipped to keep pace with the story.
That said, if you enjoy reading a good fantasy series with a driven plot, this one is for you!
