It was so nice to read another book about Dragos and Pia and see into what the new chapter of their life has in store for them. Like any other Thea Harrison book, this was such a joy to read, and that ending, i am so happy i can hop to the next one right now.

This novella in the the Elder Races Series world was great. Thea Harrison has created a facinating world and it's sad to see it end.
Pia & Dragos, MC through 8 books & multiple short stories are getting their HEA but first there is a mystery to solve in their new home. We also catch up on the lives of characters from previous novels.
The story is told in two parts, with part two to be published soon after.
Thanks net galley for this ARC.

I tried really hard to get into this book and it's completely possible it was just my mindset at the time. I can see myself enjoying The Unseen at a later date but right now, it just wasn't for me.

A nice little story. A novella of the "Elder Races" series. Good world building. Also nice to read about Pia and Drago again.

I enjoyed this.

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for sending me this ARC.

It was just so great to read this book! I love this series, and I love Pia and Dragos, and I'm so glad that we're getting these 4 stories! It was really great to get to spend more time with them, and there was a really intriguing mystery in this book, as well!

About half of this book was moving and settling in, which was nice to have some quite time before things started happening. And it was pretty spooky, because they're supposed to be alone. But Rhyacia has secrets that they're just starting to learn!

And man, that ending! That is just pure evil, and I need to know what's going to happen next! I mean, they have the bad guy contained, the problem is the vessel that he's in. And I want him out! I need The Adversary now!

I'm excited to learn more about those secrets, about that past, because it's going to be important as to how they're going to deal with what's going on now. Because I'm guessing that somebody beat the bad guy, our gang just has to find out how, so they can replicate it! And it'll be nice to learn even more about the Elder Races world!

This was a really fantastic read, and I can't wait for the next!

What a joy to return to the couple’s story who started it all. Pia and Dragos are moving to Rhyacia, a private pocket of the universe, the Otherland. Pia must decide everything she wants to take with her to this new world.

Upon moving to the Otherland world, Pia discovers things aren’t as they appear, and they will be in for a fight for their lives even though they don’t know it until it’s too late.

This is a novella-length read and Thea Harrison packs it in and still manages to leave us wanting more. Fast-paced, action intense and still bring the emotional connection and the couldn’t put it down-ness we all love from Harrison.

Another paranormal novella with Dragos, the dragon lord, and Pia, his wife, moving from New York to a newly settled fairy habitat. Pia has had another son, Niall, who takes after his mother, the unicorn changeling. But the new land has unpleasant surprising. Fast moving read. Enjoy

Thea Harrison has built a truly breathtaking, complex, fantastical world with her Elder Races series. While I personally don’t like Pia much as a character (well I like her but I do t really need more books about her), Dragos is always a treat to spend literary time with so these continuations of their story continue to engage me. This is a cliff hanger book though, so beware of that.

Did you ever want to be locked in a elevator with an author and not let them out till the tell you the rest of the story. I loved the book it tells us what happen after Dragos and Pia decides to go to a new world. The cliff hanger haunted me i could not believe this was the end of the first book. I loved seeing our old friend but in a whole new light what a great book.
MS Harrison has the ability to create a world where dragon and the supernatural are just people trying to start a new life. Cant wait for the next book.

The Unseen by Thea Harrison

The world of the Elder Races is one of my favorite places to visit, especially if the Cuelebre family is part of the tale. This is a very good opening for the trilogy that will tells us how Pia, Dragos and crew move to the new Other land Rhyacia. I’m trying not to give away any spoilers, but it was also great to catch up with other Wyr favorites.

The story moves along quickly, smoothly and is easy to follow. Characters are well developed; new characters interact well with established characters. The twists and turns in the story are unexpected and make the tale even more interesting. Although you can read this novella as a stand-alone, I think you will enjoy it much better if you read the previous Elder Races stories featuring Pia and Dragos. I am truly on pins and needles waiting for part 2. Ms. Harrison does not disappoint with The Unseen.

THE UNSEEN clearly states it's a novella that ends on a cliffhanger. I had no problem with that, and I appreciated the author being so upfront about this. The story is centered on Dragos and Pia as they move to Rhyacia, a magical Other land, where they intend to start a new place for the Wyr to live. (This is a book for those who already know the author's world and characters and not a place for new readers to jump in.)

I'm a huge fan of Thea Harrison's writing, and her prose is still exceptional. But I was disappointed with the story. Even for a novella, the pacing is off. Half of the story is Pia getting ready to move, deciding what to take with her, getting her and her friends and family moving... This takes a good 2/3 of the story before mention of the Unseen--terrific name--and the mystery unfolds, ending with something terrible happening.

Perhaps is the jolt between domesticity and intrigue that made this book feel disjointed. Or that entirely too much time is taken on the move on not what is really happening.

The characters are still spot-on, and the world-building continues to be entertaining. But perhaps the author could have tightened up the novella or just waited to release them all together for a more cohesive story. I'm still a huge fan and can't wait to read more, but THE UNSEEN just doesn't have what her other marvelous Elder Races books have.

Oh Pia and Dragos… I’m a huge fan of the Elder Races series and have pretty much loved every addition to the series. However, I have to admit, Pia and Dragos will always be my favorite couple. It may be the fact that they were the couple that started the series with Dragon Bound, but I really think it’s because of the dynamic between the two of them. They haven’t been together very long, but their bond is strong. Their relationship isn’t perfect, but they are totally devoted to each other.

Readers have been treated to several novellas centered around the couple. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I found out that there would be more. I can even forgive Thea Harrison for ending each of the new novellas in a cliff hanger – simply because there will be more 😉

And… since The Unseen ends in a HUGE cliffhanger, you’ll have to forgive me for the vagueness of this review. *sigh* Strange things are happening in Rhyacia and Pia seems to have an interesting insight that no one else does, which of course, puts Dragos in protection mode, but Pia may not be the one who needs protecting.

A novella I loved? I don’t even recognise myself right now! This novella was about a couple I’ve read before and loved from TH’s Elder Races series so I loved visiting them again!

Pia is the last unicorn shifter in the world (except for her son) and her husband is not only a dragon shifter but head of the Elder Races. They have decided to start the next chapter in their lives to moving from New York to a magical other land. However, when they arrive not all is as it seems.

Because this was about a couple I’ve read before I didn’t have any issues with the pacing of their relationship (which I have all the time with novellas). This couple is established in their love and relationship which I loved reading about. There was a hint of mystery and intrigue and it ended with a whopper of a cliffhanger which I did know going in and has me on the edge of my seat for the next instalment! If you ever read Pia and Dragos’ story in her Elder Races series I highly recommend revisiting their characters in their next chapter of life!

I love any book in the Elder Races series from Thea Harrison. Books that center around Pia and Dragos are always my favorites though. As Dragos and Pia and baby Niall are moving out of New York to Other land of Rhyacia, and many old and new friends were moving with them, I couldn't wait for this new adventure.

Rhyacia appears to be different from the idealic lands Dragos had believed it to be, as something unseen seems to also live in Rhyacia and it doesn't seem to be happy to see all the new members of the Elder Races arrive.

Ms. Harrison pulled me in from the very first page and pretty much kept me on the edge of my seat while reading this part 1 of 4 in this novella series of stories. As I knew there was a cliffhanger ending coming before I ever started reading, I was prepared, yet still wanted more when I got to the very last page. I can't wait to see where Ms. Harrison takes us in part 2.

THE UNSEEN is the first of four novellas in Thea Harrison’s contemporary, adult ELDER RACES paranormal/ fantasy romance series focusing on the former leader of the Wyr demes new in New York Drago Cuelebre, and his mate Pia.

Told from third person perspectives THE UNSEEN follows Dragos and Pia as they and 20,000 members of the supernatural Wyr begin a new life in the Other land of Rhycia but not all goes according to plan when an unseen force begins to cause a disturbance within the new society-misplaced items, collapsing buildings, and a threat to the life and personal safety of Dragos Cuelebre. Desperate to protect the man that she loves, Pia calls for assistance from Dragos current and former guardians and warriors, assistance that may be needed to save the life of the man that she loves.

THE UNSEEN is a welcome return and revisit to the Elder Races series. With a large ensemble cast of familiar secondary and supporting characters THE UNSEEN pulls the reader into a beautiful, magical but dangerous world of the ‘unseen’, whose actions are threatening the very existence of the eldest and most powerful dragon in this world and the Other. With a little bit of drama, intrigue, fun and familiarity, THE UNSEEN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

The idea behind the unseen is actually an interesting one but it just wasn't put together quite enough for me. I was only able to get part way through the story before I had to mark it as a DNF.
The novel may not be a long one but you start by feeling like you may have missed other books from the way the author has written past events in. When I requested this book it was listed as the first in a quartet and not part of an existing series. It also jumps subjects and what is happening in the story too much. It felt like a first draft instead of a finished project.
I wish I could have stuck with it until the end but the writing style just wasn't for me.

I got this feeling of déjà lu, and I hate this sort of cliffhanger and when I read that this story will be divided in 4 books I was really upset, so this is just my opinion and you now know why I was mostly disappointed even if Pia and Dragos are 2 of my favourite characters ever.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

The Unseen takes place approximately two months after 'Planet Dragos' and they are finally moving to the Other Land Rhyacia. But before they go, they rescue a dog that becomes attached to Dragos, who keeps referring to him as a rejected snack even as he cares for him.

New events cause Niniane and Tiago to unexpectedly join them on their move.

All the excitement and stress of the move, baby Nial and the dog and the pleasures of new things is there until they discover the Unseen. As they try and uncover who the Unseen are and why strange things are happening, they must face a new danger none of them expected and it will take everyone to help them get through.

This story ends on a cliffhanger and as much as I hate cliffhangers I loved this story and can't wait for the next installment.

I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com

The Unseen by Thea Harrison is the start of a new 4 episode arc, which is part of her wonderful Elder Races series. I have always been a big fan of this series, and was thrilled to learn that Thea was writing 4 novellas around Pia and Dragos, who are two of my favorite couples. It was wonderful to see many of our favorites make cameo appearances.

Pia, Dragos and baby Niall are in the final days of leaving New York (and Earth), and moving to Rhyacia, the Other land to start a new and less stressed life. Dragos has turned over his command temporarily to Rune until Liam (older son) is ready to take over. Some of their friends such as Graydon, Ninane, Eva, Bel are also going to live there. I got a kick out of Pia saving a dog (Skeeter), much to Dragos’s dismay, but she insists that the dog comes with them, and of course the dog falls in love with Dragos. Lol Baby Niall is only a few months old, but he can shift into a unicorn (like Pia) and loves to stab anyone. Cute. It was also wonderful to see the love between Pia and Dragos, which is what makes them such a great couple.

But in a very short time, after they arrive in their temporary new home (another one will be built much bigger), Pia senses something strange that only she can see. Some of the new buildings are collapsing, leading Dragos and others suspecting that they are not alone in this land. When she notices a being in her home, everyone teams up to protect each other, especially taking turns watching Niall.

The first part of this story was fun, spending time with Pia and Dragos, getting a kick out of the dog, Skeeter, enjoying Niall and his antics, as well as being with friends. But the last third of the book was a surprising twist that took us by surprise, and as we raced to the exciting cliffhanger of a climax, we marveled at Pia’s strength and command, and loved how everyone returned to try and defeat the unknown enemy. Of course, there was a cliffhanger that has us holding our breath, impatiently waiting for the next book. Thea has warned us that the next two books will also have cliffhangers.

The good news is that Thea will be bringing the other 3 novellas fast, and we won’t have to wait long. The Unseen was a wonderful start to this story line, with the joy of spending time with a great couple, their friends and family; and then surprise turn of events that changes the game. If you love the Elder Races, you need to read this new arc. You can read The Unseen and wait like me for the future books, or just wait for all 4 and read it all at once. Your choice, but don’t miss this.
