This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.
I read 3 of Evelyn Montgomery books back to back. They are connected. (Reckless, Rebellion, & Deliverance) This is a great second chance romance. There is plenty of intrigue, humor, and romance. I enjoyed reading this book.
I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
He’s rough, arrogant, sexy and irresistible as hell. The stereotypical ladies man that I swore I’d never fall for. He stole my heart once before when we were kids, and I promised myself I would never give it to him again. One night, a few drinks and memories neither one of us could escape lands me right back to where it all started, or should I say ended. But when push comes to shove, will he be ready to hear the truth about our past and face the secret I’ve been holding in for over 10 years? Or will he run like I always knew he would? The one reason why I never let myself get too close to him again. As they say, tigers can’t change their stripes, and I won’t let him make a fool out of me trying.
This was a decent read. It’s a second-chance romance, which isn’t a trope I particularly care for but I decided to try this one anyways. It was a quick read with some hot scenes. I liked the writing and the interweaving of the flashbacks.

I loved the story line with this book. There was a lot of history between the two main characters and the story between them was well thought out.
The writing was horrible though. I felt like every other sentence was "to hell if I..." or "damned if I..." I was like wait, they are or they're not? WAY too much of that type of writing and "sweetheart" like every time Rex was talking.
Overall a decent read but if this is a final copy, don't buy it. If it gets edited after this maybe the editor will catch on and fix all that and it will be good!
This book makes a fine read and sucks you till the last chapter
I personally had a love/hate relationship with both the characters and the history they both had and i love their relationship
This is a story that draws you in and keeps you engaged there is so much history between these two this leads to a volatile read that covers both the past and their current lives A book that once you start you won't want to put down
Gwen and Rex where one an others first but she had a terrible home life that led to her doubting herself Throw in Rex inablilty to give all to a relationship and this young love was doomed before it even started but they never quite forgot one another Now ten years later they are both working on the same project in the big easy and once again the feelings between them raise their heads Are they old enough and mature enough to fight for what they want this time You will have to read to see
