When I think of fairy tales I think of Cinderella, Snow White & Hansel & Gretel; while these were included, I would say for the most part that what was included in this book was mostly folklore. Why do I say that; it’s easy, several of the stories have the same background, the same mechanics and the same types of characters; they stories themselves have been slightly altered, which seems to be what you get with folklore.

If you have never read the Brothers Grimm fairy tales you are in for a true treat. These are not what many people think of when they think of fairy tales. Much darker and really intriguing, I thoroughly enjoyed them.
