Paige is a Certified Professional Organizer. Lucas is a messy single dad. Their personalities are different in so many ways. Paige decides to take a much needed vacation to North Carolina and celebrate being happily single. Lucas has no idea that his sister re-listed the website for his bed & breakfast inn. He finds out with not enough time to get the place in to shape. The result is the opposite of a meet-cute. Lucas is rude and extremely unwelcoming, but due to the weather, Paige is stuck. With time, they get to know each other and both begin to let their guard down.
There was definitely a lot of attraction to each other, so I was surprised at how closed door this book ended up being. I did enjoy reading their thoughts though because as much as they hid it, these two wanted each other from the beginning. I liked that Lucas was the one to come around and realize he needed to change. As someone who loves being organized, I laughed every time Paige just had to fix something that was out of order. The fact that she used a label maker, well that just made me smile. 😂 There are puppies and a sweet preschooler, so there’s a cute factor for sure. I love books that take place in North Carolina. One day, I hope to sit on a back porch overlooking the Outer Banks. Happy Singles Day is a story of two people who find love after they both have decided they don’t need anyone else. I enjoyed reading along as Paige and Lucas figure out how they really feel about love and relationships.

Thank you to @netgalley @annmarie_walker and @sourcebookscasablanca for a digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

Type-A personality Paige is three years into her own flourishing business when her assistant and fabulous best friend, Sammy tells her she needs a vacation. Paige knows it’s true. She never stops... and with Valentine’s Day coming up, she would much rather celebrate SAD (single appreciation day). So she goes ahead and books herself a vacation trip to a beautiful B&B in North Carolina.

Little does she know that the so called beautiful B&B is as dilapidated as her worst nightmare. And the owner is a curmudgeon-y man whose sexiness only adds to his abrasive demeanor.

Luke is a widower with a five year old firecracker of a daughter and a B&B that is falling apart around him. But, after the passing of his wife, he only has enough time and energy to take care of his daughter and fix only the most necessary problems in the old house.

When his well-meaning sister rents out a room in the B&B without his knowledge, he is furious, resulting in him being nowhere near courteous to his house guest... until he proves to her how incredible she really is.

Paige and Luke spend days together bonding over the adorable puppies that Paige saves from a drainage pipe. And the more time spent together, the more they fall for one another. So much for her singles vacation, right?!?

This was absolutely adorable and I loved every moment of reading this. My five star rating dropped down to a four star rating ONLY because the book amps you up so much with all the sexual tension only for the explosive moments to be COMPLETELY fade to black. Not cool...

Other than that, Paige is a wonderful human being who helps to open Luke’s eyes up to romance again. And his daughter is this book was total perfection. This kid is cool!

Paige takes an overdue vacation to celebrate Singles Day, booking a charming inn she found online. When she arrives, the inn isn’t quite what it appeared in pictures and she has to deal with the grumpy (but hot) host, Lucas.

This one started a bit slow for me and I didn’t love the characters, but they grew on me over time. While the premise was celebrating singles day, it wasn’t a big focus of the story and took a while to touch on it.

I love forced proximity stories so once Lucas and Paige were stuck together their personalities meshed and you felt their chemistry. There were sweet scenes with puppies and Lucas’ daughter was an adorable addition to the story.

Overall recommend if you like enemies to lovers romances set in a small town. Not an all time fave romance but will leave you feeling happy. Pick this up when it publishes January 19!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for granting my wish to read this book. I'm so glad I did.
This book had me feeling so many emotions whilst also making me laugh. Paige and Lucas are a pretty good match, but they both have some issues to get through first. I'll admit, they did get together quite fast but I suppose that happens when you're in forced proximity.
Sophie, Maddie and Sammy are wonderful side characters who really made a lot of the laugh out loud moments possible. The addition of the dog rescue really sealed the overall 'feel' of the book for me. It's definitely something I'll be recommending to rom com readers.
4.5 stars

I guess I was...Luc(as) warm about this? Can't see myself out yet--got a review to write.
I struggled with being told over and over again that Lucas looked like Ryan Reynolds. Just let me have my own mental image of the character based on any physical descriptions.

I struggle with enemies to lovers where the dude's such an a-hole in the beginning he should be harder to redeem, especially when he would rather be a jerk than earn money from Paige booking his B&B. His sister Sophie made bookings live again because they were short of funds. Still, Lucas's redemption is fairly quick.

I struggle with insta-love. Lucas rearranges his crotch a lot but the book overall is fade-to-black chaste. Very Hallmark-like. Maddie's adorable.

First of all, I would like to thank Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an ARC of Happy Singles Day.

A super cute and quick read that gave me Beach Read vibes. A single dad and a workaholic end up finding themselves in an isolated breakfast and bed. There is tension and chemistry right away, which causes hilarious dialogue and banter throughout the book.

The relationships that are made in this book are strong and adorable.

This is a closed-door, enemies to lovers and small-town romance I highly recommend if you like books that focus just on the romance of the couple and forced proximity.

Paige Parker runs a business that helps keep everyone else perfectly organized. And to the outside observer, Paige's life is perfect too. She is so perfectly busy, she doesn't have time to find the perfect man. Not that a perfect man exists, she realized that several years ago when she walked in on her fi·ancé and best friend having sex in their apartment. Nope, instead she is going to plan the perfect singles vacation to celebrate Singles Day! But things are far from perfect when she arrives at a rustic bed and breakfast on an island off the coast of North Carolina. As she finds herself stranded during a storm with her less than pleasant host Paige will have to give up perfect for a few days. Will she like what she finds when she does?
VERDICT is that this is a cute romance that will leave you feeling warm inside. I appreciate the protagonist being a 30ish female with a career determined to succeed on her own. While she eventually realizes she doesn't have to go at it alone, she never waivers on some of the other things she wants from life. Lucas (the B&B host) is a good character with his own backstory. I love the father daughter relationship element and things that adds to the more wholesome nature of this romance. It's not going to set your world on fire, but you will be happy at the end.

Netter Liebesroman

fun, sweet romance with an emotional edge, Happy Single's Day is a quick but enjoyable read. The characters are relatable and I loved reading about Paige and Lucas as they navigated their relationship!

Valentine's Day is just a day for consumerism according to Paige. Its easy to have that negative mindset when you're single. When you find out the day after Valentines Day is a day for celebrating being single...well, you should celebrate.

Paige takes her assistance's advice and goes on a much needed vacation to celebrate Singles Day. Obviously she needs to meet the hunky inn owner during said trip.

And obviously they both have to ignore their attraction to one another, until they can't. Obviously they will also both be witty, and a beach needs to be included.

This was the epitome of what you are looking for in a rom com. I did expect a tad more from this however simple due to the burn that was brewing. There was generous amount of inner dialogue about what they each wanted to have happen during their intimate moments but we didn't see that. We were building up for the steam. We get fade to black and wake up. I'm not dissing that, but I felt like it didn't quite hit the mark there.

Aside from my steam snobbery this was fantastic. I loved both Paige and Lucas. They showed great vulnerabilities towards one another that were the absolute foundation to beginning a solid foundation.

Thank you Sourcebooks Casa ans Nergalley for an advanced review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Paige Parker is a Certified Professional Organizer, making complete control of all aspects of life her job, literally. But there’s one thing she’s yet to get a handle on- organizing her own love life. Overworked and strung out, Paige decides to take a vacation for one to relax, recharge, and honor the little known holiday, Singles Day.

Only after arriving at her getaway destination she quickly realizes that she’s been duped. It’s too cold to sightsee and the place she is staying is not exactly a sight for sore eyes. Making matters worse is the Bed and Breakfast’s grumpy (yet hot, of course) host, Lucas Croft. Lucas and Paige butt heads instantly, but forced to rough it out together for a few days just might change all of that.

Instantly I was drawn to the premise of Happy Singles Day. There are a lot of books out there about women being happy without a man in their lives, but not many that tie it in to the day itself. However, the more I read, the more I realized this book really wasn’t about Singles Day at all. Sure, they swing back around to it eventually, but in the middle this is really a heartwarming story about acceptance, love, and second chances.

Readers might also take issue with the lack of heat in this story. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but it’s my understanding she’s known for writing books with a good amount of steam, so I’d be curious to know what made her venture to a more chaste love story than one would expect.

Given the misleading title, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sweet love stories and finding love where you least expect it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for a fair review.

This one is about a woman, Paige, who books a trip to a B&B on an Island off the coast of North Carolina to celebrate Single's Day, February 15th. The B&B is not what she is expecting when she gets there, instead of charming it's dirty and unkempt and the owner is a grumpy but hot man. Lucas is still dealing with the death of his wife and trying to raise his 4 year old daughter by himself, his sister who tries to help ends up booking him a guest at his B&B. While Lucas and Paige initially get off on the wrong foot the two end up learning that they both can learn from the other person. This was a fun rom-com with a few serious topics mixed in. Overall I enjoyed the story and characters but I would have enjoyed more of the two of them learning to be a couple together. Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks for my gifted copy!

This book was just what I needed!

The writing flowed effortlessly and I loved Paige and Lucas but I fell hard for Maddie. This was such a sweet story about surviving loss and moving on. I will admit I felt it got slow in the middle, but then it snapped back and I devoured this entire thing in one day.

This was my first read by Walker and I am looking for many more to fill the void left behind by this book.

This is a book all Romance fans should read and I will keep recommending it for a long time.
First, I have to say the whole concept of "You should not change your plans for a guy" is something we need to start teaching kids. While love means compromise and being in love is not a weakness, we should all know it also means we're going to love the other person exactly as they are, including their hopes and dreams.
This book is valuable because of that.

I love everything about this book and the characters (main and secondary). Paige and Lucas ─although they were completely different from each other─ were absolutely perfect for each other. Two souls that were in the process of healing their own wounds in their own way. I love how Paige was able to empathize with him and his situation even when he was a little rude and distant at the beginning. The chemistry and attraction was visible since the very beginning, even if they didn't notice.

I believe authors need to keep writing heroines like Paige, who are so sure of themselves and what they want and are not afraid of go look for them. This society needs to normalize seeing successful women in charge of their lives without the need of having a partner to validate them. She didn’t need Lucas but she realized how much she wanted him in her life and he could be part of the dreams she was already building for herself.
Lucas’ backstory was heartbreaking, I was able to empathize with him and understand his struggle and doubts about how things were developing. I loved seeing him putting his daughter’s needs as a priority, their banter and fun dynamic as a little family was satisfying and heartwarming. And I was moved to see him going another step towards healing. Mourning is definitely never linear and it doesn’t look the same in every person.
I loved how Paige didn't let the first awful impression dictate what she thought about Lucas. In the end, he was fighting a battle she didn't know about and granted him the little grace he needed. Once they were able to move past that, the conversation flowed easy, natural and comfortable as if they were long-time friends. Enough for them to start opening up and know each other better to the point of finally being able to be themselves. The lessons they taught each other were valuable, not only for the relationship to grow but for them to conquer the demons they’d been fighting and drop the baggage they’d been carrying.
This was a slow burn written on point! The anticipation and tension build up so nicely and it was perfectly satisfying at the end, although it’s all in close doors.

I loved all the unique secondary characters, especially Luca’s little daughter. Maddie and Paige’s meet-cute has to be the funniest and most adorable I’ve seen from all the single-parent books I’ve read! The connection they made for their love of animals and their sense of adventure was the cherry on the top for the beautiful family they didn’t know they were going to form.

This was a beautiful love story of healing, new beginnings and true love: The one that doesn’t cut our wings but encourages us to fly as high as we can.

First I'd like to thank Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS for an ear of this book.

Next I'd like to tell you a bit about this book.

This book is about a Paige who has become a workaholic because of what happened in her past. She decides to go on a weeks vacation and takes a test for her perfect vacation and it takes her to this B&B on this little island off South Carolina. When she gets there its not at all like the pictures online.

We also have Lucas who is a single dad and owner of B&B. He lost his wife a few years back and has since let the place go. He doesn't want her there and is insulted when she starts to say things about his home. Together they work on letting go of the past and moving on.

Last my thoughts.. This is my first book from this author and let me just say I will continue to read books that she writes. This had my emotions going crazy. She makes you feel what the characters feel. She makes you laugh your butt off. This was such a fun book to read. I also loved all the little things she added like the tv and movie comments. Love this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Happy Singles Day is a cute rom-com/hallmark movie of a book.
Professional organizer, Paige, decides to celebrate singles appreciation day by going on a week long vacation by herself. Upon arriving at the B&B, she finds herself in an unexpected situation. The inn was not as described. The owner is gruff and rude, and due to a storm, she is stuck on the island and is not able to leave. The majority of the book is a slow burn of the two main characters having misunderstandings, getting to know one another, and a random dog rescue.
Overall, this book was just ok for me. A cute read, not too steamy, but nothing that makes this a real stand out. Quick, light, and has a happy ending.

This was a DNF for me. I found Lucas to be extremely unlikeable and sexism was kind of rampant. I lost count of the number of times the main character was described as some variation of tight ass. Just not my cup of tea, which is unfortunate because it had a sort of Hallmark vibe that I would have normally enjoyed.

This book was super cute! I liked the plot, as it’s not a super common trope for romances. The chemistry between the characters was sweet and funny, the conversations were witty and cute, and it made for a pretty easy, light read!

From the beginning of this book I knew what would happen, but that didn’t make the story or the reading experience any less mesmerizing.

To be honest, the beginning of this one had a bit of a slow start, and I found myself not even really liking the main character (Paige) until she meets the male protagonist (Lucas). Not only did I not care for her until that point, but I also had no idea what she looked like – not until the narration flipped and Lucas was left describing her. Because of this, it took awhile to gain an image in my head of these two people, but the way they interacted made me smile and I was rooting for them the entire way.

If you are looking for a quick, entertaining romantic story, this is a perfect fit! Happy Singles Day was a dose of joy for me. The story line easily hooks the reader from the start and the romance is closed door, fade-to-black, but with steamy intent. It has a little bit of everything I enjoy - small towns, picturesque locations, puppies!, children, swoon-worthy romance, and hope for a better future.

Single father Lucas Croft and his 4 year old daughter Maddie live in North Carolina, on Aurelia Island, where Lucas once ran the Copper Lantern Inn bed & breakfast with his late wife, Jenny. Jenny has been gone for 2 years and Lucas hasn't kept the bed & breakfast in the best shape, not has he had any guests staying there since Jenny died. He enjoys the time he has with his daughter, and isn't interested in dating, despite his well-meaning sister Sophie's encouragement.

Paige Parker lives and thrives in the hustle and bustle of Chicago, where she is a certified professional organizer with her own business, Chaos Control. After discovering her fiance in bed with her boss, Paige quit her previous job and swiftly become both single and cynical about love and romance. Paige's best friend Sammy, who is also her assistant, encourages her to take a vacation and recharge her batteries, reminding her that she works too much and needs a break. Begrudgingly, Paige agrees to a one-week vacation and she finds the perfect small beach town with an idyllic bed and breakfast. Paige really doesn't care that it's February and looks forward to enjoying the beach in peace and quiet. When she arrives on Aurelia Island, she is a bit shocked to discover that there are no cars on-island and that the bed & breakfast isn't really what she signed up for at all. Turns out she is the only guest, and the broody owner makes it clear from the onset that he doesn't want her there and had no idea that Sophie allowed a booking. Paige decides to leave, but the nor'easter storm prevents that for a few days at least. She decides to make the best of the situation. After all, she wanted a break from her busy life in Chicago, and that is what she'll get.

Little does Paige know that who and what she finds on Aurelia Island may just change her mind about being single after all.
