Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for an advanced copy of Happy Singles Day.

Happy Singles Day was a fun and cute contemporary romance. When Paige wants to celebrate Singles Day, her assistant and best friend convinces her to book a week away. She books at a cute B&B in the Outer Banks. Lucas's sister seeing that her brother needs a restart, puts his B&B up on a vacation booking site. So when Paige shows up, Lucas isn't very happy. Will they survive the week together?

I loved all of the pop culture references and the forced togetherness troupe. Maddie's Lucas's almost 5 year old daughter is the cutest.

While I don't think the title is as accurate about this book, it was a fun, quick read!

This book was so cute! It was a quick read for me and reminded me so much of a Hallmark movie with a little extra spice thrown in. But for real. How can I not like a book that describes the main male character as a Ryan Reynolds look-alike, a whole litter or puppies, and the spunkiest little four year old girl? Oh, and it is set on an island in North Carolina. SIGN ME UP!

We all know that I love books with steam but I think this one was well written without it. Im starting to realize maybe I like closed door romance a little bit more than I thought I did. I also really liked how Lucas started off being annoyed by Paige but slowly he let his guard down and began to like her. I love a good grumpy guy! Lucas had been through a lot so it makes sense that he was grumpy but Paige just had a way of getting too him while being forced to stay in the inn thanks to the storm!

If you are looking for a fun and quick read, I highly recommend. This one is out TODAY!

Okay, this one was so cute. What a perfect, light romance to read. I adored Paige and the values that she stood by. I loved the setting and the side characters of the book too. Maddie was such a loveable character and really added to the book. The puppies were such a sweet addition as well. Who doesn't love reading about puppies.

The only thing that surprised me was how closed door this was even though there seemed to be so much leading up to it and many references in the book that would make you think this would have a little more steam.

Overall, if you are looking for a quick romance with just the right amount of cheesiness, I'd highly recommend you pick this one up.

I thought this was a cute read but it was a bit underwhelming.

Paige books herself a vacation at a bed and breakfast as part of her celebration for being single. Only when she gets there, the bed and breakfast is not at all as advertised. She finds the B & B owner, Lucas Croft doesn’t want any guests and has no interest in making her comfortable. Despite some bad luck, bad weather and Lucas’s bad attitude, Paige decides to stick it out until she can leave. She learns that Lucas has a daughter who lives at the B & B and that Lucas is a widow. Eventually Lucas become a better host and much more.

This was a nice read, with likeable characters, but not enough chemistry between the two main characters. The story moved fast. As I was hoping to get deeper into Paige and Lucas’s story, Paige time was abruptly up. I didn’t not like this book, I just wish there was more.

This seems like a cute, well-written story. Unfortunately, I could tell right away that it wasn't for me. Both Paige and Lucas are pressured into something they don't want to do. As a result, Lucas is intolerably rude to Paige when she first arrives on the island, especially given that she's paying him a lot of money (which he needs). Personally, I don't find that charming or fun, although other readers might. DNF.

*Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an early copy of this book for review, all opinions are my own*

4.5 stars

This is a book to pass the time, where you sit in an afternoon and read it whole and I loved it.
It's a quick and very cute book.
The book has captivating characters and a romance that makes you smile all the time while reading.
But the fact that it is a cute book does not take away all the sexy part of the romance that makes you all hot and bothered in the best possible way but without being explicit.
It's a beautiful book that talks about moving on, about loving again, and being happy.
For me, the characters were the best part but the story itself is beautiful too.
It's a warm heart-warming book.

Happy Singles Day follows Paige and Lucas. Paige is a professional organiser with the perfect life. However, she's yet to find the one. So she decides to book a vacation to honour Singles Day and she just so happens to stay at Lucas' B&B. It's the classic mean guy-sweet girl slow-burn Hallmark movie scenario. However, I would have liked a bit more character development and fewer sexist remarks at the beginning. But overall, it's a cute and quick romance read to pick up this summer!

This book was a quick, enjoyable read. I love a good opposites attract story! What I wouldn’t give to meet a Ryan Reynolds lookalike at a small town inn!

This book was cute with Hallmark romance vibes. Usually, enemies to lovers troupes are my favorite. However, I did find this story enemies to lovers in 60 seconds a little unbelievable. I also really wanted a little more affection or steam from this book. Maybe that would have helped the reader believe the romance story more. My favorite character was the charming and hilarious 4-year-old turned 5 and a half-year-old daughter Maddie. She was simply the best!

I really wanted to like this book because I enjoy the concept of opposites attract, which is what this book was supposed to be. In my opinion, throughout the whole story, there was not a single moment where I felt chemistry or attraction between or two leads. Basically nothing happened in this book. I like to be invested in the story I’m reading, but I wasn’t even interested in either character. The whole relationship Paige and Lucas had was extremely underdeveloped. There was so much potential for their relationship to grow and become wonderful, but it just didn’t happen. We never really get a chance to learn more about our characters. Everything we know about the two are just surface-level things, how about a personality, jeez? Also I just thought Lucas was an ass, and definitely not the type of main character I enjoy, simply because he wasn’t well written. I just can’t enjoy a story without some sort of character development.

A huge thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was in the mood for reading a swoon-worthy love story and this book hit the spot. I loved the characters and I felt like I was right there in the small beach town with them. I love unexpected-love and reading about characters overcoming their grievances and insecurities. I liked how both Lucas and Paige were able to help each other move on after their losses.

I will say right off the bat that this book is not about the day in the title. It is rather about getting up and living after life has dealt one a deadly blow, and also about putting one’s self out there after a bad heartbreak.

Paige decides on the spur of the moment to fly out for a vacation in a small town in North Carolina and ends up in a broken-down B&B run by Lucas who is a widower. The initial meeting goes very badly but eventually (😊) they end up falling in love and living their HEA.

I enjoyed the setting of the book a lot, it really felt like another character. The secondary characters were also fantastic especially Samantha and the TNMT 😊

All in all, a cute book. The couple were cute, and I particularly enjoyed that in the end it was not her that moved her work but him. That was a genuinely nice touch.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publishers for the ARC.

Paige has everything - a successful career, a gorgeous apartment, a great life, but no man to spend it with. When she heard about Singles Appreciation Day, she decides to celebrate by taking a weeklong vacation to a quiet beach town. When she gets there she checks into a bed and breakfast that hasn’t been used in years. The owner, Lucas, is a widow and hasn’t had the heart to have guests since his wife died. Until now, and only because it was his sister’s doing. After spending a week together, will these two people realize what they’ve been missing while living the single life?

First of all, any romance that involves puppies is an automatic win in my opinion. This book was that right amount of sweet and cute with the perfect mix of sassy banter thrown in there. Although Lucas drove me crazy with his grumpiness in the beginning, it didn’t take me long to love the idea of Lucas and Paige as a couple and I was rooting for them. The last few chapters of the book, I was sitting there with a big cheesy smile on my face. This is such a sweet romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Happy Singles Day will be released on January 19.

Paige is a Certified Professional Organizer and she is single and proud of it. To celebrate Singles Awareness Day, she books a solo vacation at a bed & breakfast on an island in North Carolina. When she arrives, the inn is nothing like it was pictured on its website. When she arrives, she is greeted (more like unwelcomed) by Lucas, the attractive widowed owner. Paige immediately regrets her decision and decides that she needs to leave, however, mother nature has other plans and she and Lucas must learn to spend time together until the storm passes and Paige can return to her perfect Type A life in Chicago. As the time passes and the sexual tension rises, the two of them start to learn that they each have been missing something in their life.

This story was a slow burn, heartfelt, chick-lit rom-com. The premise of the story was interesting and different from other romance novels. It kept me engaged and I wanted to know more as I kept reading. Most of the characters were likable and were genuine. However, Lucas rubbed me the wrong way. Throughout the book, he made numerous sexist comments regarding Paige and it turned me off.. He started to redeem himself as the story went on, but then more comments were made. As for the connection between he and Paige, they did have great chemistry and the author added levels of steam. BUT when one thing led to another, it felt like the author slammed the door in the reader's face. It didn't work with the flow of the story. I am glad that the author included an epilogue. It was a little out of order but I thought it was a nice way to give the reader closure. I do recommend reading this book and give it 3.5 stars.

Similar to my most recent read, Shipped, the main character of this novel is a female powerhouse. Paige is the owner of an organization company. She’s a certified professional organizer who loves lists, order, and who doesn’t know when to take a break. Her assistant convinces her to take a much needed vacation in honor of “Singles Day”. Single Awareness Day (SAD) is the day after Valentine’s and is a day to celebrate being single! Paige books a week at a quaint Bed and Breakfast on the ocean in North Carolina.

Enter, Lucas, the attractive single owner of the Copper Lantern Inn. At first Paige and Lucas do NOT get along. As it’s been abundantly clear, I love a good enemies to lovers romance. 💕 Paige and Lucas share many adventures over the course of her week stay. They cover everything from saving puppies to power outages to collecting sea shells with Luke’s daughter, Maggie.

I devoured this book in one day. It made me want to go on my own vacation to North Carolina to celebrate Singles Day! The characters were well developed and lovable, the setting was picturesque, and the love story was swoon worthy. ✨

Paige is a certified Personal Organizer that has been burned by love. Her assistant/friend, Sammy, tells her that she has to take a vacation. Paige reluctantly agrees after realizing that the vacation would take place on Singles Appreciation Day. After all she thinks she could get a cake that says "Happy Singles Day" at the Bed and Breakfast she'll stay at on a small island. Lucas is a single father, that owns the Bed and Breakfast. He doesn't want Paige to come, in fact the B&B is run down, it's out of season, and he thinks Paige is high maintenance.

Lucas and Paige crash into each other and after deciding to start fresh, they hit it off. Both of them feel an intense attraction together that makes for an interesting week.

I felt like the Lucas and Paige moved forward quickly, especially considering Lucas has a daughter. I wish that all characters were cautious about introducing new people into their children's lives. Lucas's grand gesture at the end surprised me and honestly felt a little forced.

Overall it was a cute read that kind of gave me Hallmark movie vibes. So if you're looking for a book like that, definitely check out Happy Singles Day!

If you’re looking for a sweet and simple contemporary romance, this is it! Despite some steamy imaginations from both love interests, this romance is actually pretty closed-door in terms of the real-life relationship. While some of the cheesier moments throughout this book feel forced or overreaching, the story ties up nicely with a sweet ending that would likely make any rom-com lover happy.

I love me a fun, cheesy romcom, but what I love more is enemies to lovers! The enemies part of this book didn't last long, but I still really enjoyed this one. I really enjoyed getting to know Maddie, and I was glad she was in the book for a good half of the book! I am currently a 28 year old woman, so I definitely related to all of the older pop culture references. At first I thought this book was a little dated, but the more I thought about it by having these references between the two characters it really showed THEIR age! These references of course I am talking about are Lizzie McGuire, Power Rangers, and of course Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This book had plenty of dirty/vulgar talk, but then I was a little disappointed this was a closed door book! I really would have enjoyed some steamier scenes! This is my first book from this author, and I look forward to reading more!

This is my first book by this author, and I was drawn in by the cover, the description, and just the all over happy vibe looking at this book brings. It was a good book that touches on many topics, including some hard ones of lost. I enjoyed Lucas so much, I have known some grumpy guys who are marshmallows inside, and I just want to spend the day with him. Maddie is wonderful and very much a great character. Paige and how she steps back and her growth throughout the story is the true gem of the story.

Where are my single ladies at?!
Happy Singles Day is an amazing book not only because you can relate so much with the characters, but because it also deals with other things like learning when to take a rest, how to love and prioritize yourself, and dealing with losing a loved one.

“Where is it written that the woman has to be the one to change her life?”

Paige Parker is such a BOSS LADY and she proved to be a real bad ass until the very end which is definitely one of the top things I liked about this book. I hate it when characters, especially female characters, are written as this strong independent woman only to be changed and become dependent on a man they met and fell in love with. Speaking of men, cheers to Lucas for being so amazing?! He went through so much, but he still managed to be an amazing father to his daughter, and an amazing man overall.

I love romance books that isn’t only about romance but other things like family and just life in general, Happy Singles Day gave me that. I really liked how the book explored other things like going to places in the island, rescuing puppies (yes, omg???!!!), and Paige’s career!!! Such an interesting career and I liked reading about her in action.

The side characters are super loveable as well!!! I liked the conversations Paige had with Sammy, little Maddie, and Sophie! But especially Sammy. I loved him so much, I would actually read a book written about him. (MAKE IT HAPPEN PLEASE)

Of course, I wouldn’t forget to mention that this book has an Enemies to Lovers trope which is the weakness of a lot of bookworms. Including me.
