Getting an advanced reading copy of this book felt like a dream come true! Returning to Moose Springs felt like coming home! If you haven't read a Sarah Morgenthaler novel, please do! This is the third in her Moose Springs series. I was asked recently by a member of my book club, if these books need to be read in order; while the books could be read as stand-alone books, reading them out of order, would give you some pretty big spoilers about the other two books.

This book, like her others does NOT disappoint. While I've enjoyed all the books, what I didn't expect was how much I missed Moose Springs and its curmudgeonly townsfolk who hate tourists…but do they? Each of her novels has followed a local and a tourist and their interactions. This novel kicks off following Easton, who is a background character in her first two books. Within the first chapter, we get some insights on how our previous Moose Springs lovebirds are doing. What I think is particularly rare about Sarah Morgenthaler is her ability to write about this character across all three books placing a magnifying glass on new characters in each one and showing them in a new light. I don’t think I ever could have guessed this one would focus on Easton, but gosh am I glad it does.

Easton is minding his business in his truck, driving down the road, when he sees a woman dragging her suitcase. Raised right, of course, Easton offers the woman assistance, but to his surprise, this red-headed spitfire is anything but charmed, in fact she’s quite irritated by his offer. Easton is soon caught in this newcomer’s quest to film a documentary about Moose Springs to increase tourism. River is an actress turned producer who is having zero luck getting her documentary filmed, but once she meets Easton her hopes to get things done and prove herself in the industry reignite.

Unlike her previous novels, Enjoy the View is more suspenseful. Easton leads climbers to Veil, “The Old Man” and the descriptions are far from a frolic in the park. The scenes on the mountain are tense, filled with so many unknowns, and quick light-hearted moments that turn reckless. I found myself turning the pages so quickly needing to find out how their climb would go.

Sarah Morgenthaler left me feeling blissful as I read this novel, despite having bitten my nails. ::tisk tisk::. Prior to reading the book, I kept seeing people talk about a marmot and let me tell you, it’s worth the mystery. The little fellow makes his appearance and I found it endearing. Morgenthaler has a playfulness in her novels that is rare. Her love for animals is evident throughout this series and noticeable in this installment with the marmot, grizzly bears, and a fascinating game called UniMagP.

From fun, to tense, to heart thumping, and finally to heartwarming, this book is worth the read! Venture to Moose Springs, you won’t regret it!

This is the third book in Sarah Morgenthaler's romance series set in Moose Springs, Alaska. Each novel focuses on a different couple and you do get to meet characters from previous books in each subsequent one. For example, in Enjoy the View, we get to see Graham and Zoye a bit more, the couple from book 1.

Enjoy the view is the story of Easton, the "sexy Hagrid" of a mountaineer. Easton pulls over on the highway when he spots a woman walking on the shoulder lugging a huge suitcase. Since she is walking in the middle of nowhere, he stops to inquire if he can be of help. He quickly learns that she was far from lost. River is a Hollywood actress turned a documentary director who is there to shoot a film about Moose Springs and all its attractions. If you read the first two books, you know that the town residents are far from being enamored with tourists so the last thing they want is a film crew working on publicizing their two even further. Needless to say, River and her colleagues do not feel welcomed. Instead of filming in town, the crew decides to go up Mount Veil and get some shots of the nature and wild life that way. Easton is the mountaineer who will be taking them up.

I really liked this couple. Easton and River are immediately attracted to each other and their flirtation and easy banter will put a smile on your face. I also really liked the idea of a mountain climb. It does take a while for the book to actually get to them climbing. I do think these books are getting better and if Sarah Morgenthaler keeps writing them, I will definitely keep reading them.

Out of the three books in this series, I think I appreciated Enjoy the View the best. The novel follows River, a film director who has traveled to Moose Springs, Alaska to film a documentary. It also follows Easton, who was a well known character from the other novels. Easton is best friends with Graham and is a mountaineer for a living.

Since the natives of the village are not allowing River and her team to film in town, they are forced to think outside the box. River unknowingly books a backpacking excursion up Mount Veil with Easton as their tour guide.

The novel caries the same charm of the first two Moose Spring books. I loved all of the beautiful depictions of the Alaskan wilderness. And I loooved the building relationship between River and Easton. They share such a fun banter throughout the book. I liked that the chapters were shorter than previous novels because it made the book seem more manageable in smaller chunks.

This was a great series to read in the wintertime. Thank you to @netgalley for the advanced copy.

This book made me love Moose Springs again. I had loved the first, but then really didn’t enjoy the second. This book brought back the charm. I liked River & Easton as a couple and enjoyed the ending.

I absolutely love the setting that Sarah uses in this series - Alaska is like it's own other character and Enjoy the View is no exception. This was a 3.5 star for me. It was so close to a 4 star and I wanted it to be so badly!

River Lane is a down on her luck actress who is looking to be taken more seriously in the business. Unfortunately, when she gets to Moose Springs to produce and direct a tourism documentary, she is met with the classic grumpy Moose Springs residents and no one wants her and her team there. River meets Easton who takes an instant liking to her and agrees to guide them up Mount Veil. A sweet love story unfolds and Easton was just so sweet. This is definitely one of those quick lust to love stories so there's a little bit of suspending disbelief at how quickly they fall in love (especially under such stressful circumstances as climbing a 14 foot mountain), but it is easy to go along with. This is a decent romance to continue the series and great for folx who like closed door sex scenes.

I have read all three books in this series so far, and this is a tough one to rate. I definitely enjoyed it more than the second book, but not more than the first book. I didn't believe the romance in the second book and had the same feeling with this book.

River is not so easy to like as a heroine. I wanted to like her, and she grew on me more at the end, but it was tough. Now, Easton...I loved everything about him. I truly didn't see what he saw in River, besides her obvious beauty. She wasn't all that nice. She had an agenda with being able to film in Moose Springs and was doing all she could to make it happen.

It was nice seeing Graham and Zoey again, but their scenes were limited. A good portion of the book takes place up on the mountain where some serious stuff happens. I guess I was looking for more of the lighthearted feel, too.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really do enjoy this series and the setting- Moose Springs is just sooo cute and we got back side characters of Ash, Jake, Zoey, Graham. For most of this story we head up into the mountains- but River meets Easton while trying to film her documentary on the side of the road but he just had to stop to help. You can tell there is chemistry from that point on. The hiking/mountain will be too much for some people and you will want to slap a couple of them. But I understood the need to summit and I have only done smaller ones not covered in ice. The marmot is just super cute and love how Sarah always adds in super funny animal parts into this series.

Its very very closed door so be there for that. I can't wait to see who is next for this series and like I said before I wish this place was real!

4 stars
2 steam (very closed door)

Charming, refreshing, and light!

Enjoy the View is a tender, amusing tale that takes us back to Moose Springs, Alaska and into the lives of documentary filmmaker River Lane and broody mountaineer Easton Lockett as they navigate a treacherous mountain climb, a potentially tragic accident, a four-legged, furry friend with a serious crush, and an underlying simmering attraction that may be the only thing that keeps them warm on a few cold, blustery nights.

The writing is cute and funny. The characters are stubborn, impulsive, and dependable. And the plot is a heartwarming, humorous mix of life, love, family, friendship, small-town living, adventurous endeavours, dangerous mishaps, romance, and a lovelorn, adorable marmot.

Enjoy the View is the third title in a series that, for me, just keeps getting better and better. It’s a sweet, sincere, steamy tale by Morgenthaler that in my opinion shouldn’t be missed.

I don’t know what it is about this series - I’ve liked all of the books enough to keep on reading them, and to continue on with the series, but none of them have blown me away. They’ve all been 3-3.5 stars for me. I think they’re can be the perfect read - if you’re in the mood for them.

Things I loved:
-Easton - the sexy mountain man carried the story on his broad, muscly shoulders. Thank goodness he was the main character in this one
-loved returning to Moose Springs, although I would have loved even more appearances from the old gang. The setting is absolute perfection

Things that weren’t my favourite:
-the writing felt repetitive
-the climbing adventures were interesting at the start, but also got repetitive

3.5⭐️ If you liked the others in this series, this is pretty on par with those and you’ll enjoy this one too!

Thanks to Source Books for the gifted copy to review!

I absolutely love the Moose Springs series. I was so excited for the opportunity to read Enjoy the View, part three of this series early on @netgalley. Enjoy the View tells the story of Easton Lockett, the best friend of Graham from the original Tourist Attraction. I was excited to read about cold Alaska on a chilly weekend in January!

Easton is a true mountain man and works in his family’s adventure tour company. He is also a stand up man who helps anyone who needs assistance. Easton meets River and her crew who are in town trying to film a tourism video for Moose Springs, but the residents aren’t keen on letting this happen. River hires Easton’s company to take them mountain climbing up Mount Veil to film there.

This book is drastically different than the other two books and for me personally, not for the better. It’s so much more serious than the previous stories. It’s missing many of the quirky small town jokes of Moose Springs. So much of the story is told while they are on the mountain. We miss all the fun of the town while they are gone. There’s very few callbacks to previous details. Jake the dog is barely mentioned and Ulysses (or any other moose) are not mentioned at all. There is some lighter moments with a marmot on the mountain, but this wasn’t the same as Ulysses to me. Lastly, I just couldn’t get over my dislike of River. I hoped she would grow on me, but I really turned on her when she forced Easton to go back up the mountain to “summit” after her crew gets hurt and Easton repeatedly tells her it’s not a good idea.

I still love this series and I hope there’s more to come. But I hope it’s more like the first two than this one. Give us more Jake and Growly bears!

This was hands down my favorite book out of the Moose Springs series. I’ve been waiting for Easton to be in the spotlight because he’s just such a lovable character in the others. And MAN did he steal my heart. I was getting some MAJOR Jason Momoa vibes throughout the entire book and I’m not mad about it at all. River was definitely my spirit animal. Her attitude, drive, & stubbornness reminds me so much of myself. I went through ALL of the emotions reading this one. It made me laugh, made me nervous, and made me cry (yeah, yeah I know. I cry a lot). I found myself so invested in Easton & River’s relationship and rooted for them throughout the entire book.

Ugh, I hate to say this but I am so disappointed that I did not enjoy this romance book more.
I do not know if it was me but I just could not get into it. It was taking too slow for my taste. Like I enjoy reading slow-burning romance stories but if it is done right. If not, then you are just dragging the story on which was happening in Enjoy the View.
I really felt that there should have been more depth and attraction between Easton and River especially in her case. River has a lot of growing up to do when she starts this new project. Nothing is ever easy when you start something new and out of your comfort zone. Like what River expected when she shows up to a new town and they do not like you. It takes time and effort, and River seems too immature to gasp that. And do not get me started on chemistry with Gaston and River. They need a little depth in their relationship in my opinion. Something was missing.

DNF 67%

I really came to hate River. Honestly she deserved [to die on Mt Veil for the stupid, stupid, STUPID stunt she pulled. She thought she knew better than the expert she hired. When it turned out she didn't, she doubled down. I understand career ambition but this *tourism film* was not important enough to risk her life, not to mention the lives of others. What a dumb bitch. When you stop caring whether the FMC lives or dies, that's a clear DNF point. (hide spoiler)]

Note: I received an ARC of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an unbiased review.

Who knew love on a mountainside could be so captivating? I sure didn't! I was pleasantly surprised by this third installment in the Moose Springs series and found myself not wanting to put this one down.

Enjoy the View is the third book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. I had only just read the first two books, The Tourist Attraction and Mistletoe and Mr. Right, last month, so my thoughts on both of those were fresh in my mind as I went into this book. I enjoyed them both overall, but had some issues with each that prevented me from truly loving them. Enjoy the View answered the call! I loved everything about it.

Moose Springs, Alaska is a popular tourist destination. The town itself, however, hates every minute of it and everyone who doesn't belong. Overall, this theme has been the basis for all three books in one way or another. I felt like book two mimicked the same anti tourist vibe that book one had far too closely and didn't breathe enough of it's own life into the story. So, I was admittedly worried that Enjoy the View would pick that same feeling right back up. I was so happy that was not the case! The tourist distrust is still there, but the majority of Easton and River's story happens outside Moose Springs and away from that constant weight.

Easton was a regular in the first two books, so we already know him as the big, quiet guy who feels more at home on a mountain than with people. You just knew there was more under his stoic facade, so I was so pleased to see him get his own story. River is a Hollywood darling whose career is quickly declining, so she decided to step behind the camera and booked a job directly a documentary about Moose Springs for the tourist board. And, you guessed it... Moose Springs does not want a documentary bringing even more tourists to their doorstep. River's determination to finish this project landed her and her crew climbing a literal mountain with Easton as their guide.

The chemistry between Easton and River was palpable from the very start. Watching these two circle each other before even ending up on a mountainside together was pure joy. Their personalities balanced perfectly and they matched each other tit for tat in drive and determination. The romance in this series is closed door, but don't think that stopped these two from burning up their tents with their flirting, banter, and open desire. Not to mention some seriously great kisses.

But what I think truly had me on the edge of my seat is that this book didn't just have that relationship conflict you expect to pop up eventually, it had danger. Actual danger. I mean, climbing a mountain is dangerous. And climbing this particular mountain even more so. And that was absolutely conveyed through the story with some seriously heart stopping moments.

Swoon worthy and heart stopping. Two phrases that perfectly describe both Easton and River's relationship and the book as a whole. I 100% recommend this book, whether you've already met the residents of Moose Springs or not.

I may have mentioned this before, but those folks at Sourcebooks are sneaky. I love them, but it's true. They send out these beautiful emails about discounts on special titles and I always wind up buying at least one of the books. Then I like it so much that I have to buy the rest of the series. See? Sneaky. And that's what happened this time. I loved the description of the first book, The Tourist Attraction, so I bought it. Then I needed the second, Mistletoe and Mr. Right, and the short story "A Christmas Bun for Ulysses." When I heard the third book was coming soon, I went searching for an ARC because I couldn't wait to read it and talk about it.

Enjoy the View brings readers back to the town of Moose Springs, Alaska and all the characters we already love - Graham (grouchy owner of The Tourist Trap restaurant), Zoey (Graham's fiancée and tour guide at the town's resort), Ash (tough helicopter pilot and card player), Lana (socialite and property developer), and Easton (mountain guide with not much to say). Let's not forget Jake, the blind border collie; he makes an appearance in a tailored suit complete with pocket square. Squee!

The view in this case refers to the panorama climbers on Mt. Veil can see as they work their way toward the summit of the mountain. And Easton has been hired to guide a film crew so that they can make a documentary of the area. Hollywood star River Lane is making her directorial debut with this film and is determined to succeed, but she and Easton also have a mutual attraction that is distracting them both. As River thinks, "The tension between them wasn't thick enough to cut with a knife...it was melted chocolate. Warm and gooey and impossible to get off her skin." Of course Easton has his own thoughts on the matter. "River looked so sweet and innocent and completely capable of not causing utter chaos in his life...He'd believe that when he saw it."

Between everyone in town doing their best to run the film crew off because the residents don't like tourists, the dangers of the mountain crevasses, and the fact that River's career is in Hollywood but Easton's is in Alaska...readers will be anxiously waiting to see how it will all play out. (And when Jake will show up in that totes adorbs suit.) Rom-coms are not my first choice of genre, but these books make me laugh so hard at times that I can't see to keep reading and have to put the book down and catch my breath. Perfect reading material for your next snow day cuddled up on the couch.

P.S. Sweet folks at Sourcebooks - when can we expect another one? We still need to find somebody special for Ash. Just saying.

DNF.

This book just wasn't working for me so I decided to DNF it. I really wanted to like this books as it has elements that I really enjoy in books such as a snowy atmosphere and a fun romance. However, there were too many characters for me to find myself overly invested in their stories and I found myself getting distracted while reading. I'm giving this book 3 stars- NetGalley does not leave an option to leave no rating and if I had finished the novel it would have likely been between 2-3.5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc.

Thank you @sourcebookscasa for a copy of Enjoy The View by Sarah Morgenthaler for review. The third book in her Moose Springs series is out Tuesday, January 19th!

Enjoy The View was a fun read. River is a female action star who has been feeling the struggle of aging in front of a camera as well as suffering a few blows at the box office. She decides to take her chances behind the camera and film a documentary about Moose Springs, Alaska for the tourist board. The only problem is no one there is happy about her potentially bringing tourists to their lovely town so she can’t find anyone willing to be filmed in town. Easton is hired to take them up “The Old Man”, a mountain with a reputation for being a dangerous climb.

Easton and River have fabulous chemistry and banter. I will admit that I did not know it was a series before I requested it but I don’t think it hurt this book too much. There were some hints at what the previous books might have centred on but they were not necessary to the plot of this one. I also found it for a little slow waiting for them to get into the mountain climbing but once they do, this novel and couple really hit their stride. Action packed, fun banter, cute wildlife, this book has it all but the freezing temperatures and actual work of climbing a whole ass mountain.

River, actress-turned-producer, is in Moose Springs, Alaska to film a documentary for the tourist board. When River and Easton run into each other while River is filming, they find an instant connection. Against his better judgement, Easton decides to help River and her crew create their documentary by leading them up Mt. Veil, fighting their attraction to each other all the way up.

This story was unique in the mountaineering and climbing adventure, but it's very fitting for a story about Easton. This might have been my favorite book of the series. The combination of romance and adventure in this story was a winner!

Morganthaler does it again with the third installment of the Moose Springs series. I have been waiting for Easton's love story and was definitely not disappointed!

Easton and River were well-suited with his protective, careful, and serious side being lightened by River's almost reckless love of life (and her being made a little more aware of the dangers of climbing!). I will say that River was a little too foolhardy and reckless for me at times, to the point where it felt disrespectful and foolish. Why be so disrespectful towards someone who is a career mountaineer and act like you know better or don't care about their advice? Easton however was the perfect foil- understanding her determination, not dampening her excitement, but also remaining firm in what he expected on the climb.

The thing with Sarah Morganthaler's books is that she is a master at transporting you to Moose Springs or the Veil or Wyoming. I truly felt the wind whipping at my cheeks on the mountain and that is something extraordinary. I also love Moose Springs and all of the characters that we know and love popping up was so much fun. Side note: Sarah Morganthaler is also a master at making me drool over the food she describes- it feels like I'm sitting at a table with a cinnamon bun every time she describes it!

Definitely pick this up. You can read it as a standalone but do yourself a favor if you haven't already and read the whole series!

Thank you to Netgalley, Sarah Morganthaler, and Sourcebooks for the Advanced Readers Copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review!

I am permanently in love with the fictional Moose Springs, Alaska and all of its inhabitants. This third book in the Moose Springs series is pure delight. It is just as good and entertaining as the first two.

This installment of the Moose Springs adventures focuses on Easton Lockett, who is by far one of my favorite Moose Springs characters. He's a giant of a man but with a big heart. He loves the outdoors and makes his living as a mountain guide. He gets roped into taking a struggling actress turned director/producer, River Lane, on a dangerous climb of his favorite mountain, Mount Veil. River is full of spirit and loves adventure. She is determined to make her mark behind the film scenes with a documentary of her experience on Mount Veil. Of course, danger ensues and love develops, which makes for a very engaging romance book.

I would say this is my second favorite Moose Springs book after the original, The Tourist Attraction. The two main characters have great chemistry, and their personalities are well-suited to each other. They both love climbing and outdoor life. They both seek out adventure. I love that this book focuses not only on the budding romance but also on the climbing of the mountain and all that that entails.

The cast of secondary characters includes familiar faces from the previous two books, especially Graham and Zoe. The newly introduced secondary characters, River's coworkers, are interesting and add to the story. A lot of humor is injected into the story by these secondary characters. And be on the lookout for the lovestruck marmot!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read the other books in the series, but also to any reader that enjoys a sweet romance with a dash of adventure.
