DNF - I would prefer to leave this unrated but that’s not an option on Netgalley, apparently.
This just didn’t work for me. I was hoping for a cute, small town romance but the mountain climb aspect kind of took away from it. I did like the scene setting but I wanted more from the romance, and the pacing was a little slow.
As a result I wasn’t feeling the connection between our main characters either. Maybe if I’d read the other books in the series I would feel more invested but I couldn’t get into this one sadly.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!*

Enjoy The View is the third book in the Moose Springs series. This time we focus on Easton and River, an actress whose career needs a jumpstart. So she decides to start fresh behind the camera and agrees to film a documentary about Moose Springs. However, the locals in this close-knit Alaskan community don't want to be filmed, so River decides to climb a mountain instead. However, to reach the summit she'll need some help - enter mountain man, Easton.
River and Easton were total opposites but I loved their dynamic. His reserved protectiveness + her headstrong determination + a lot of witty banter = the perfect combination. Easton, in general, makes me want to find my own Alaskan mountain man! I also loved the setting. I never thought I'd enjoy reading a book about climbing a mountain but Enjoy The View proved me wrong. The writing was descriptive enough that I felt like I was on the mountain alongside them.
So, if you're looking for a quick romance read that'll transport you to a mountaintop in Alaska. this is the book for you!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC - all opinions are my own.

I have read the first two books in the series and feel each book gets better. This one is my new favorite - 4 1/2 stars for Easton and River. River is an actress who's now trying her hand behind the camera. Her first attempt is to do a documentary for the state of Alaska. Easton is a mountaineer and is hired to take River and her crew up Mount Veil. So much happens on the mountain - no spoilers. I really enjoyed this book and hope that Ashtyn gets her story next!

WOW. This book surprised me. I have a huge confession, I actually DNF'd it at 20% and moved on to my next read...but I kept thinking about the characters, so I gave it another shot. I am SO HAPPY I did. This is book number 3 in the series, following the story of Easton and River. Easton has always been on of my favorite characters. He is a brute of a mountain man that has a heart of gold. River is an actress turned director, who is so fucking sassy, I immediately fell in love with her.
I will say, I wish the beginning moved much faster. This romance was packed with so much that the start does not live up the rest of the book. This story honestly read as much adventure as it did romance. I absolutely loved the constant drama & excitement; it made me feel like I was reading a true story about how two people fell in love. It was just so genuine and sweet.
Steaminess: level 1. I so wish this author would jump in feet first and move this to PG-13. It was a little too YA in my opinion.

Fans of Morganthaler’s Moose Springs will relish the latest book in the series. Though not laugh-out-loud funny like the first two, readers will still find all the quirky characters they’ve come to love. River wasn’t my favorite heroine, she was too much of a know-it-all, but the other characters definitely kept me engaged.
3.5 stars

Who knew a frigid mountain climb could be so very hot?! I loved the first book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series by Sarah Morgenthaler. The second book wasn't quite as good for me so I wondered how I would like the third. Well, let me tell you, ENJOY THE VIEW is AMAZING!
River is an actress whose acting career has stalled and is dipping her toe into Producing and Directing in an attempt to prove her merit. She gets a job filming a documentary for the Alaska Tourism Board in Moose Springs, Alaska. But the residents of Moose Springs are not very welcoming. When an opportunity comes up to hike the nearby mountain and film the ascent, River's guide is none other than gentle and gruff giant, Easton. With camera equipment in hand a team starts their climb, having no idea how this will play out.
River and Easton are PERFECETION! *dreamy sigh* River is such a strong, badass female lead. She is smart, determined, tough and a fantastic leader. We need more romances (and books in general) with female leads that show incredible leadership qualities while leading a team. River is also lovable, hilarious, and sweet. Her character complexity and growth throughout the book is a testament to Morgenthaler's great writing.
Easton is also written with skill and you cannot help but to fall in love with him! He is dependable, sometimes gruff, but seriously sweet deep down. He is certified: swoonworthy!
This book is seriously steamy, despite being "closed door". River and Easton burn up the pages with chemistry, kisses and lots of sexy banter. There are also laugh-out-loud moments that will leave you smiling for days.
This is a story whose characters will stay with me and that I will definitely be reading again in future. I cannot get enough of this swoony and sweet romance.
RATING: 5 stars
STEAM LEVEL: Rated PG
TRIGGERS: Life Threatening Situations

What a fun light “meet cute” romance. Alaska, one of the most amazing places in the world. Beautiful country and a place where most people go to be exactly who they are or want to be. They say that when it comes to meeting men that the odds are good, but the goods are odd. Cracked me up when I heard that and yet….. welcome to the town of Moose Springs! The town needs tourism to increase to help the town, its stores and its community survive and hopefully thrive. So after researching who can do their town justice they land on River Lane, a Hollywood starlet to create a documentary of their slice of heaven. For her the promise of being behind the camera, creating a documentary that can change the trajectory of her career to behind the camera instead of having it pointed at her, seeing a part of the country she hasn’t seen before and getting some director credibility is all she wanted and hoped for. She was told that all the details like permits, town participation, places to stay were all handled. And then she gets there and the fun and chaos begins. Nothing promised was true, no one really wants her there and she is pretty close to losing her cool. Easton Lockett is just being a nice guy when he a woman walking down the highway talking to herself with no one and nothing in sight for miles. He stops to help only to be yelled at by this crazy woman. They are a riotous and completely unlikely couple. Opposite in almost every possible way. And so begins their dance. It is funny, silly, romantic, witty, filled with sarcasm and a little danger thrown in for good measure and interesting cast of characters and situations. Will they, won’t they? It is of course a romance so there is the expected HEA, but not what you might think. Enjoy the read.

Ok, Enjoy the View may be my new favorite installment of this series!
I’ve loved Easton since we met him in the first book and getting to know him more through the series has been amazing, and this was absolutely the romance he deserved!
River annoyed me here and there from her fearless stubbornness but ultimately there’s no one been better suited to be Easton’s stubborn equal!
And the cameos from the previous books’ couples?! *chefs kiss* PERFECTION!
This one offers more suspense than the other books due to the setting but if it didn’t have those worrisome moments, then it wouldn’t have felt realistic. It’s still absent of the sexy times of that’s something you want to avoid, but it has plenty of “JUST KISS ALREADY!” moments! All and all, this was just fantastic and I pray that we get a couple more books because there are a couple other characters who I would love to see get their own well-deserved romances!

If romances with mountain climbing heroes, feisty and capable heroines, and the great outdoors is your cup of tea, then look no further than this Alaska-based romance! I was super excited to read this book, as I have a thing for a seemingly mismatched couple hitting it off. "Actress and filmmaker meets camera-shy mountain man" sounded like an amazing pairing that was sure to make me laugh all the way through, and boy, did it ever! The fun wasn't just in the pairing either, but it was also in the quirky side characters, the beautifully described setting, and the humorous animals met along the way. While it started off a bit slow for me, it picked up fairly quickly, and the scenes while they were climbing the mountain fairly flew by! I was picking this book up during every break I had throughout the day, and I almost had one night without sleep. It was a gem to read and one I'll certainly be buying for friends who are looking to get into the romance genre.
When Easton Lockett saw a woman trudging along the side of the road, he was honor-bound to stop and offer assistance. He did not expect the response he received, however, when she promptly told him to keep driving. River Lane had had enough of the people of Moose Springs. Sent to the town to film a documentary for the Alaskan Tourism Board, her film crew had been met with unrelenting resistance, from being kicked out of the only hotel around to being given the run-around when collecting their filming permits. She assumed Easton was yet another local trying to ruin her day, but as they kept running into each other, she slowly realized he wasn't the villain she expected. When he suggests that she film outside of town, she immediately calls a local guide service to take them up Mount Veil, an amazing climb near Moose Springs. And then fate intervenes - Easton is her guide up the mountain. As sparks fly, heating up their otherwise chilly climb, Easton and Rive grow closer together, sharing stories and body heat. But once they're off the mountain, they both know they come from different worlds, and their romance will soon come to an end.
Easton and River were absolutely perfect for each other! I'll admit, I thought this was going to be an opposites attract sort of romance, but really, they had more in common than originally expected. River wasn't always a Hollywood-type, having grown up in Wyoming on her family's ranch, and she knows a thing or two about roughing it. I loved seeing her and Easton bond over their mutual love of climbing and adventure, and while I did get frustrated at times when River would get a bit too overconfident that bordered on stupidity, I loved her spirit and will to live life to its fullest. Easton was pretty soft-spoken, though he made his voice heard when he needed to. While River could have run right over him with her enthusiasm, they instead complemented each other well. Easton guided River, not just in climbing but also in her way of thinking, and RIver showed Easton energy that he had been lacking in his previous relationships. They were absolutely adorable, and the slow burn romance was killing me. Then when the time came for things to steam up, it was closed door...which I found disappointing. However, I'm stuck at home during a pandemic - can you blame a girl for wanting a bit of steam in her books? It didn't take away from the story in the slightest though, and I was anxiously reading to see how it all turned out.
This was my first book by this author, but I will certainly giving her other books a try! This was not the first book in Moose Springs, and I'm needing to read about the other couples as soon as possible.

There is just something I adore about an Alaskan setting and Enjoy The View does not disappoint. Painting the pages with Alaskan beauty, and a relationship to root for, this book is the perfect addition to the Moose Spring series.

River decided to step back from acting and finally has a project of her own filming a documentary on Alaska. Moose Springs isn’t exactly welcoming to River and her crew but Mountain man Easton, described as a sexy Hagrid 🤣, will do his best to get her crew through the wilderness. Bad weather and treacherous conditions are against them so these two must turn to each other and can’t help finding safety and a future in each other’s arms. They quickly find out that home isn’t a location it’s wherever the one you love is.
.
Book three set in Moose Springs and each book is an utter delight. Sarah Morgenthaler writes strong, independent characters with the right mix of vulnerability and humor and I have loved them all.

This book is out January 19th! It’s the perfect snow day book.

Enjoy the View follows Moose Springs resident Easton Lockett on his own tourist encounter.
When River decides to make her way behind the screen as a documentary filmmaker after a career in front of the camera as a Hollywood star, she is happy to land a gig featuring the beautiful Alaskan town of Moose Springs. This idealistic adventure ends up being a lot more than the filmmaker bargained for when the town's residents are less than receptive to the idea of participating in an effort to increase tourism.
Easton is roped into the filmmaking adventure when his polite kindness and interest in the bold filmmaker leads to him being the only Moose Springs resident not icing the filmmaking trio out completely. Eventually, Easton leads the group on a climb up a mountain that has the potential to spark a documentary to save River's career in the business.
This was a nice read! I liked The Tourist Attraction, so getting to read more about Easton and Moose Springs was thoroughly enjoyable. I liked revisiting the town and it's lovable characters like Graham, Ash, and Zoey. There were some funny moments and some great dialogue.
One thing I didn't expect was the amount of time that went into explaining mountaineering and the environment. This was really great in creating the atmosphere and setting, but as someone who isn’t super interested in this it took my attention away from the plot a bit.
Overall a fun read!

I am a big fan of Easton. I loved him in both The Tourist Attraction and Mistletoe and Mr Right. And frankly, he deserves better than this book. 40% into this novel and NOTHING has happened except banter that is so over the top it’s annoying and a bunch of scenes talking about B-roll or stock film by an obnoxious film crew, River included. Therefore, this is a DNF for me.
Note: NetGalley makes me rate. I would leave this unrated if allowed.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca, Sarah Morgenthaler and Netgalley for the [gifted] e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved Easton’s character in The Tourist Attraction and was so thrilled when I learned he was getting his own love story. What’s not to love about a mountain of a man who is slightly terrified of his badass twin sister and is secretly a giant sweetheart?
Enjoy the View was everything I wanted it to be. We got to know Easton and what drives him. And River Lane is the perfect other half for this gruff mountain man. While we didn’t get as many silly antics as in previous books, we did get some laughs with a lovelorn marmot and the great banter between Easton and River.
Also this book has made me never ever want to climb a mountain. I’m good with skiing and hiking. I don’t think I’d be very good with ice picks!
Now if only we can get Ash’s love story next!!! Please Sarah!!!
Enjoy the View is out on January 19!

I didn't love this one, unfortunately. It was cute, but I felt like it could've been cuter. I did enjoy the climbing scenes - they felt more technical and enjoyable than our love story, at times, but in a romance, I want the love story!

This is meant to be a romance but you know what- it's also darn good for the climbing scenes (some of which are quite harrowing!). River, an actress, Is trying to pivot to directing; she's got a gig making a promotional video except that no one in Moose Springs will allow her or her team of Jessie and Bree to film! She meets Easton by chance- and there's immediate sparks with this hot tall man with a bun. River's always been passionate about climbing so when she's stymied by the town, she persuades Easton, who works as a guide, to take the team up Mount Veil. It's not so easy and this was actually my favorite part of the novel. How River and Easton cope when both of them are in peril is impressive and will keep you on tenterhooks (even though, let's face it, you now what's going to happen). The characters are good (I'd love to get a look at Easton) and as always, its the small details, such as his fluffy white towels and the talons painted on the bottom of his sister's helicopter, that bring them to life. Don't worry if you haven't read the earlier novels; this is fine as a standalone. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recommend for a fast fun read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book.
Former actress River Lane is trying her hand at directing. She is assigned a documentary which showcases a town called Moose Springs, however the town doesn't want her or her film crew around. To get around permit rules, River takes a tour up a mountain with an attractive man she meets, Easton Lockett. A few hiccups push them closer together and put their attraction to the test.
This is a very cute romcom, number 3 in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. This is my least favourite in the series, I didn't like River at all. I couldn't get around her character no matter how hard I tried. I liked the humour in the book, but it felt few and far between, in amongst over-described scenes.
Easton is a saving grace for this book, his character was surprising and charming.
Just to note, I read this book before I read the first and second in the series. I didn't find I needed to read the books in order to follow along.

Easton Lockett is the proverbial mountain man with a heart of gold. So when he sees a woman on the highway, pulling a suitcase, heading away from town, he can’t help but stop to help. Only he’s far from the first person to do so, and River Lane is starting to get really mad. Because the town of Moose Springs won’t let her and her crew shoot their documentary there, so she’s resorted to a shot of her on the highway. But people keep stopping, and they’re ruining the shot.
River is determined to get her documentary about Moose Springs filmed and prove herself as a director and not just a washed-up actress, and when she runs into red tape that would need a chainsaw to cut through, she hires a guide to take her up Mt. Veil. Only she’s shocked to find out that that guide is Easton.
Easton and River are drawn to each other, and after a thin attempt to keep it platonic, they give in to their feelings. But Veil is a mountain that requires not only good climbing skills, but no distractions, and a budding relationship is a major distraction. Not to mention a freak summer snowstorm, the camera equipment needed for filming, and the appearance of a marmot who is just as attracted to Easton as River is.
While I liked the first two books in the series better, it was fun to have this one take place on the mountain instead of in town. I am not a climber, and the idea of scaling a sheet of ice does not appeal to me, but I like reading about things I would never do. I also liked the ending, which wasn’t quite what I expected, and the appearance of Jake, the blind Border Collie belonging to Easton’s friend Graham.
While characters from the first two books make an appearance in Enjoy the View, it’s not necessary to read those to be able to follow the story. However as I said earlier I did like those better, and highly recommend them, starting with The Tourist Attraction.

River Lane, an actress, comes to the town of Moose Springs to film a documentary, but the townspeople aren’t having it. Easton Lockett, professional mountaineer, ends up helping her, and you can probably see where the rest of it goes.
This book was cute, but it was my least favorite of the three. I had a hard time getting into it (though it’s probably because I didn’t want to read a romantic comedy at the moment). River is my least favorite of the heroines. If you’ve read the other books in the series, you’ll probably like this one. If you haven’t but you like romantic comedies, you’ll probably like it, too.
A couple of jokes the author made made me pretty upset. She made a mental health crack and a joke about someone being too pretty for prison, that they wouldn’t do well there. I take things like this very seriously, and sometimes I wish I wouldn’t have finished the book. I would’ve rated the book lower because of this, honestly, but it was otherwise well-written.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I fall a little bit more in love with Moose Springs with every book and the third in the series delivers!
Enjoy the View focuses on the muscleman mountaineer Easton Lockett as he takes starlet turned aspiring filmmaker River Lane up Mount Veil.
There's romance, attraction and swoonworthy moments that made me smile but there is also a lot of gripping adventure, danger and suspense! I really enjoyed it and thought it was all well-balanced but if you are looking for more of a traditional love story heavy on the romance, this might not be the best fit. I don't even like snow but I loved climbing the mountain with this crew.
I'll also say that Sarah Morgenthaler NAILS her strong female characters. River is badass and I appreciate romances where the women aren't just some damsel in distress. I can only hope that this book, out Jan 19th, is super successful so we can get even more stories from Moose Springs!
Special thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for sharing this fantastic ARC with me in exchange for my honest opinions.

These books have consistently been 3 stars for me and this one definitely fits. I enjoyed the descriptions of the scenery and the climbing techniques used while going up Mount Veil. I was a little sad that Jake the dog wasn't in this book as much, but the marmot helped ease some of that disappointment. The story wrapped up a little too quickly and easily for me at the end, but it was an enjoyable read for sure and if the next book is about Ash and Jax, I am ALL IN!
