Cute story. Actress River Lane is out to make a documentary and prove her career isn’t over. Cue hunky mountain climber Easton to get in her way and make sure she follows the rules. What do you get when you mix a rebel and a rule follower at 14,000 feet... a match made in Heaven. Great characters, smart writing. A lot of great witty, flirty banter.

What a fun book this was to read! I always enjoy a book that dives deep into an activity That is outside my own experiences. Climbing a mountain has never appealed to me but this book made want to get up and climb with them. Still, the book of falling in love while climbing wouldn’t be as good as it was without complex, interesting characters. These were great. River was strong and sometimes too independent. Easton had been a side character in other books but became a full blown here, navigating falling in love while doing his job. This was my favorite book of this series.and I can’t wait to see what this author does next.

I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to this genre. And I have to say I found this particular book quite a lot more enjoyable than I expected. The writing is snappy and fresh, and never feels like a slog. The characters and town are just the right amount of fun and quirky without being ridiculous. The setting of climbing an Alaskan mountain was unique. I haven't read the previous two books in the Moose Springs series but would consider it now, knowing I enjoy the author's writing style.

I have to say though, that I don't think I'd last 5 minutes in River's company without punching her in the face. There's "strong assertive woman" and then there's "overbearing self-centred wench", and River tips over into the second category for me. She makes two choices during the dangerous climb that put both her and Easton's lives at risk, and Easton lets her get away with it way too easy. Even apologising for not being "diplomatic" when he was very legitimately angry at her for being an idiot and risking their lives for something stupid. Easton, man, grow a backbone.

I also thought the marmot thing was just silly.

Overall a fairly fun, enjoyable read, but a couple of irritations that make it a 3.5/5 for me.

This was so much fun! I really enjoy survival style romances, so this really hit the nail on the head for me. Easton is the sweetest and this combined with River's fiery attitude made for some hilarious banter and steamy tension. Such a fast-paced read, I flew through it and was hooked from start to finish. Some truely laugh-out-loud moments in this one, especially with the marmot, which I'm sure anyone who reads this book will agree is truely the star of the novel.

Wowsers! Every book in this series was better than the last, and Easton and River’s story blew me away. This book is truly an adventure and a love story wrapped up in a sundae with a cherry on top!

As someone who loves Alaska and hiking (I climbed two fourteeners in July - if only one of them was Veil!), along with climbs from time to time, this book spoke to my heart and made me want to be on the mountain with them. Sarah’s descriptions and details were so on point that I felt like I was a bald eagle flying over them watching from above; one night I even dreamt I was there with them in the Veil.

I was so excited for this one to be about Easton. From the beginning of the series he was my favorite side character. Who doesn’t love a sexy Sasquatch-like bearded man who is willing to help anyone, and is always there to save the day?

Some of my favorite things: the banter, sass, and flirtation between Easton and River, and their shared love for the outdoors and climbing. Their marmot companion on the mountain, hilarious (no spoilers here!). I love Ash and Easton’s relationship the more I’m exposed to it, and Ben was pretty down to earth as well. Lastly, Jake, I mean could Jake really not be in book number three? The answer is no, of course he must be; handsome blind pup for the win!

Some things that bugged me only the slightest bit: River annoyed me at the beginning and had moments were she acted or said things that I didn’t like while on the climb. Jessie and Bree, River’s film crew, were slightly annoying to me at times, but I think that’s sort of how many Hollywood people are (no offense)? In the end, I loved how they responded with the documentary they were filming on the mountain.

I’m Team Ash for book number four?!?🤞🏼I would love for her love story to be next!

For fans of The Tourist Attraction and Mistletoe & Mr. Right, you will enjoy the third Moose Springs book, Enjoy the View. Morgenthaler continues to explore the quaint town, the quirky townspeople and their never-ending annoyance with tourists. Enjoy the View continues the formula of the Moose Springs series with some variation; instead of staying in town, Easton Lockett takes a film crew up the treacherous Mount Veil to record a documentary since their filming privileges were denied in town. Easton and former-actress/hopeful-director, River Lane develop a relationship based on their shared experience of climbing the mountain together. But will it last off the mountain when their worlds are so different...

This book could be a stand alone, as with all the books in the series, but the reader will have a deeper appreciation for the people of Moose Springs if the series is read in order.

Enjoy the View is the third book in the Moose Springs series by Sarah Morgenthaler and any fans will be glad to return to Moose Springs with this book focused on Easton Lockett. Easton has been one of my favourite side characters in this series and I’m so glad that he finally got a love story of his own. Which is exactly what he gets when River Lane arrives with her crew of two to film a documentary on Moose Springs. River Lane is determined to make the transition from actress to producer/director, despite all the hardship that the town of Moose Springs decides to throw at her. As fans are aware, Moose Springs is not the warmest of towns to tourists which continues in this story as they hinder River and her crew as best as they can.

I absolutely love that the characters from the previous books - Zoey, Graham, Lana and Rick - make frequent appearances in the story as they are a group of friends. And seeing their continuation story makes this community of Moose Springs one that readers will be happy to return to. I am looking forward to more stories coming out of the Moose Springs world.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the e-arc!

My favorite installment of Moose Springs yet! Enjoy the View gives you Easton, the hunky mountaineer, and River, an actress turned producer trying to further her career.

River is trying to produce a film for the Alaskan Tourism Board and of course the residents of Moose Springs don't want anything to do with it. After meeting Easton on the side of the road, they quickly become close. Easton agrees to lead River and her crew on a climb of Mount Veil for their documentary. The mountain throws everything it can at the group and River and Easton grow close on their adventure.

There was less Moose Springs drama in this book and more nature. I loved the new setting on the mountain and the drama that climbing brought to the story. There was a point where my heart was pounding for Easton, River and their crew as they climbed.

Grab your climbing gear for Easton Lockett & River Lane's Alaska adventure! Easton is reluctant to help River, a Hollywood invader to his small town, with her wildlife and tourism-focused documentary, but ends up being roped into her filmmaking journey - quite literally, when he takes them up the infamous Mount Veil to capture some climatic footage. Mountain hijinks follow!

I've definitely enjoyed the Moose Springs series, and this one was my favorite! Sometimes the plot development felt a bit stretched or unrealistic in my opinion (especially on the mountain!) but it was still fun to see Easton and River's relationship develop.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for an early copy of this book! Check it out if you're looking for a light and fun read with some mountain escapades thrown in!

So far in this series, this was the most difficult book for me to get into… and not for want of trying.

I love the character of Easton. The strong, silent, burly mountain man capable of rescuing any damsel in distress was not a hard sell for me. Even former starlet, River Lane grew on me.

The issues I had were the excessive descriptions and technical spec that slowed down the first half of the book. If the book had stayed on the same vane, I would have given it a solid 3 stars, but once he get seriously into the climbing of Mount Vail, which is like another character in the book, and the romance starts heating up along side the mountaineering drama, the book turned around andI couldn’t put it down.

Yes, the slow build up about the movie/ documentary filing in Moose Springs and all the prep to get them on the mountain seemed tedious at the time, but overall the excitement and the vivd storytelling from the mountain made it all worth it! I felt like I was there. Because, between you an me, that’s probably as close to mountain climbing as I’ll ever get. Heights and me don’t see eye to eye!

Was this my favourite of the Moose Springs, Alaska series, no, but I was happy to see an HEA for Easton, a series favourite and the mountaineering really added to the understanding of the fictional town/ series as a whole.

Enjoy the View by Sarah Morgenthaler is scheduled to release January 20th, 2021.

Book Review
Enjoy The View by Sarah Morgenthaler

“Hollywood starlet River Lane is struggling to remake herself as a documentary filmmaker. When mountaineer and staunch Moose Springs local Easton Lockett takes River and her film crew into the wild… what could possible go wrong?”

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay, let me just say it:
I. AM. OBSESSED. 🤩🤩🤩

I am totally in love with Moose Springs, Alaska, with their ~strange~ evil moose, with every character in all of these books (hello strong female leads!) and I am even in love with the ~crabby~ marmot in Enjoy the View. (Yes, you read that right… there is a literal Marmot x Easton side-love-story in this one - I was laughing so much! 🦫)

💖 Here is why I loved this one:

•It was so incredibly easy to just get lost in. From the first chapter I was engaged, connected to the characters and hopeful for their stories!

•It is so clever! There are so many clever moments in this story - it had me really and truly giggling to myself as I read.

•Lots of balance. This book has some scary things happen, where I felt fearful for characters on their journey, and it has just as much love in the story where I was swooning for them too. I liked the reality of each character being very different, yet they worked together in a lot of the story to lift each other up - I loved how whether it was friends, family or romantic, the support was always there!

Honestly this one is a must-read. It comes out January 19th 2021 - so put it on your list *now*. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️

And if you haven't read the others in the series - I highly recommend those too. I read two so far, all out of order (which you can do, they are standalone with crossover in the town and characters) and I am onto The Tourist Attraction Next! 📖

Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablance & NetGalley for this advance review copy of ENJOY THE VIEW by Sarah Morgenthaler.
I was sucked in from the beginning of this story set in a remote Alaska town (Moose Springs) and felt right at home even without reading the first two books in the series. It's a perfect winter escape where you'll get your HEA, some laughs, and come away from a book knowing your time was well spent.

I struggggled through this. The quality of writing felt even worse than the other books in the sequel and the story itself just felt too stretched.

This might be my favorite book in this series so far. Honestly I wanna do a reread of all of them and I’ll probable do it pretty soon because I just love these books so much!

This book follows a hero who I’ve been very, very, *very* intrigued with ever since I read about him in The Tourist Trap. An author writes about a quiet, broody-ish, tall as heck mountain man, and I. Am. There. Easton is just... wow. Love him to pieces!!! He has confidence that is beyond attractive but has this softness and gentle-giantness about him that is just so perfect. He’s got an amazing sense of humor and a passion that gives him life and you can actually feel his excitement along with him. I adore him!

Then we have River. Who I just absolutely love! She’s strong, determined, feisty, and such a sweetheart. She’s so filled with life and excitement that you just can’t help but feel like your attitude has automatically gotten better and brighter when you read about her. She’s fearless and headstrong in the best possible way. Her character was absolutely amazing!

One of the many things I loved so much about this book was that we were taken on the climbing trip with them. I’ve been backpacking, hiking, and snowshoeing so some things were familiar. But I t was honestly so much fun to read detailed things about what they were doing, how they were doing it, etc. The authenticity of the plot of this story had my heart legit pumping and I was feeling the adrenaline right alongside these characters. The whole atmosphere of this book was phenomenal, so much fun, and such a joy to read about! It’s a different feeling from the other books, which I love and was amazed by!

The relationship between Easton and River was honesty so amazing!!! I adored being in both their heads when they started falling for each other and it’s so insanely heartwarming and gave me such a giddy and happy feeling! Easton is one quiet sexy man, let me tell ya. I loved the way he lights up around River and how she brought out the best in him and vice versa. They’re absolutely perfect for one another and I honestly was curled up in bed smiling like an idiot for most of this book.

I can’t wait for everyone to have the chance to read this! It’s such a fun, wonderful, and adventure filled story that will have your heart pumping with adrenaline and feeling giddy nonstop!

*Thank you so much NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy and review this wonderful book!🤍

I think this is now my favorite in the series. I was sad to read the description and see that it would be set mostly outside of Moose Springs, but after reading this one, it was such a nice change of pace. There were a lot of thrilling and tense moments in the group’s trip up Mount Veil, and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if they’d all make it back. River was a great character to introduce because she can hold her own against the locals. I loved her fiery personality and she brought a lot to this book. I also loved having more of Easton and seeing him in a leading roll after having him as a side character for the first two books. He was one of the more mysterious characters, so it was very interesting getting in his head for this one. If anyone has loved the first two books, Enjoy the View definitely holds up! I was not disappointed.

Wow I was so happy to see Easton was finally getting his own book! I loved him in the first two books and this book totally gave him justice! This was definitely my favorite of the series so far. I loved that not only was this a romance but jam packed with adventure on the mountain with River, Easton, and the whole crew. And a handful of our favorite characters from previous books also make an appearance. At first I was a little hesitant it was just going to be similar to the first two with the town making it so hard on the outsiders, but thankfully it wasn't focused on that.

Hands down my favorite book in the series! River and Easton are my favorite couple!

River, an actress from Hollywood, is out to prove she is more than a pretty face. Moose Springs offers River a chance to revamp her reputation and career. What she doesn’t count on is Easton.

Easton Lockett, town survivalist and mountain man, is a pro at keeping calm during a crisis, making him the perfect companion and guide for River’s team to complete their documentary.

When sparks fly between the two, River and Easton have to put feeling aside to tackle the “Old Man” and bet the odds of surviving not only a dangerous climb but a unique chance at happy ever after.

A cute Alaska based rom-com with adorable banter between River and Easton with an inspiring and adventurous hike. The entire description of the strenuous hike is beautifully handled by the author and the hikers' reactions to various segments of the hike were written so well. Easton was absolutely adorable as a mountain man but it took me some time to warm up to River and her hilarious conversations with Easton helped in that. A fun read and perfect for those who enjoy low-steam small town romances!

I have really enjoyed this romance series set deep in Alaska (this is a the third book)! River is a former actress trying to make a documentary about the town of Moose Springs. The locals are unwelcoming, at best. River does find an ally in mountain man Easton Lockett. They decide to climb Mount Veil as part of a new direction for the documentary. There is a lot of information included about mountain climbing and the tough climate of the Alaskan mountains.

I did get a bit lost in these details because I know little to nothing about the subjects. The sweet, funny romance between River and Easton make up for any confusion I felt while reading. Easton is such a sweetheart and River really seemed to find an authentic connection with him. This was an especially fun read if you have experienced the first two books in the series. We got lots of glimpses of past characters and their ongoing relationships. I highly recommend this book and the entire series for a fun, funny, and sweet romantic story.

I have really enjoyed this series and the appearances that characters make in each book to help tie everything together. This story of Easton was really cute, although a slow burn and low steam. The majority of the book is set in the wilderness, on the mountain. I loved the banter back and forth, the setting and of course the little marmot butt.
