3.5 stars for Easton, but River in my book was hard to like. There was just something about her the entire book that was a little off. I did like the hike and the atmosphere of that. Hoping Ashton gets the next book.

I have been loving reading this series. This is the third book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. I enjoyed this book a lot and getting to know more about River Lane and Easton. This book can be read as a stand alone, but would be more enjoyed in a series.

I loved that this book centered around mountain climbing. I thought it was fun to learn more about it, and the author did a good job at describing it! It was nice seeing some of the past characters in this book too. River was kind of an annoying character, but I really liked Easton! I enjoyed the banter between the two, it was entertaining. If you haven’t checked this series out, I recommend it!

Just the book to read during the February winter cold snap. Super cozy, the romance is enjoyable and I liked the setting of the book.

This series gets better and better!!!! I love the characters, including the animal and goofy quirky side kicks. These characters pull you into their lives with your heart strings and keep you there with their laughter and love! A must read for fans of this series.... probably my favorite 🤩

This is the third book in the Moose Springs series and by far my favorite!

The opening scenes of this book had me laughing out loud. The first few pages drew me right into the story and I knew it was going to be a good one.

Neither Easton or River were looking for love. Sure, life might be a little lonely but Easton had his business and great friends, and River was carving a spot for herself in the producing world. I loved reading their journey from acquaintances to friends to lovers. It was a sweet story and they had such a great connection.

This book had quite a few unexpected serious moments, which I think is perhaps why it's my favorite. The story had a lot more depth than the first two books and I felt much more invested in the outcome. I'd still call this a romance or romcom in the end, but there were scenes that had me gasping out loud and flipping pages to find out what would happen.

There were a few plot holes that I had to just overlook for the sake of moving on and not getting hung up on the details. In the end the story was great and I was able to appreciate how the plot had to be set up for Easton and River to have their story.

Overall this book was a fast-paced, bingeable read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I wasn’t crazy about this book but it was a cute story. River did kinda get on my nerves because of how stubborn she is, but I really liked Easton as a character & LOVED his lil relationship with the marmot 😂 I thought the mountain aspect was super unique & I liked how visual it was. I definitely think I would’ve enjoyed this book more, if the chapters weren’t so long.

I was so excited to read Enjoy the View - so many of my friends have read the series and were talking this one up. Unfortunately it fell flat for me in one critical area, which I'll discuss below.

The basic premise of the book is that River Lane is an actress attempting to break into directing and producing, starting with producing a documentary on the quintessential town of Moose Springs for the Alaska Tourism Board. The only problem is that the town residents don't want a bar of it, and River and her team are quickly blacklisted until Easton Lockett suggests they film the scenery - and in particular, a mountain the town is famous for - only to find himself their tour guide. The longer River and Easton spend together, the closer their bond becomes.

Okay, so I'm going to start with the things that I really enjoyed about this book:

I loved the idea of Moose Springs, and a town that has obviously had a lot of tourists, but doesn't want to actively encourage tourists to be there all the time. The town residents are like family to each other and fiercely protective against outsiders. It sets up a great conflict for the story for which River needs to find some way around.

I also really enjoyed the judicious use of animals at certain points to create levity. From pet dogs dressed up in suits to native critters following them up and down the mountain, that stuff was just plain fun and entertaining - even if it didn't add much to the overall plot.

What I found increasingly frustrating was River. I said in my Youtube review that it's very rare for me to dislike a character so intensely - quite often I'm just indifferent - but River swung so far into the ridiculous territory that it made it hard for me to appreciate her. For a while the things she got up to fell into the ridiculous-funny category, until they started preparing to trek up a mountain known for being dangerous enough for people to be injured or killed climbing. At which point the fact that she blatantly ignored and made fun of safety briefings (because she was an 'expert climber') and then found herself in a situation that put herself and Easton in an extremely dangerous situation over filming equipment made it less ridiculous-funny and more 'do you want me to take this character seriously?' I can appreciate from a plot perspective this was supposed to build tension, but it only left me feeling irritated.

So while the writing style of the book was perfectly fine, in this case it was the characters who let me down. I can understand why so many people like this book, and I truly wish I was one of them, but unfortunately this one just didn't do it for me this time.

Enjoy the View is a great addition to the author's Moose Springs, Alaska series, combining a fun romantic comedy with some action and a bit of nail biting suspense to make for a truly enjoyable read!

River Lane comes to Moose Springs hoping to make a film about the town but finds everyone quite reticent about being in a movie. So when mountaineering guide Easton Lockett, who has already witnessed River's rock climbing skills outside of town suggests training her camera on Mount Veil with a guided trip to the top instead, she takes him up on the offer with her crew. What follows is a couple who get to know each other but also find themselves in some very risky situations on the climb.

There was more suspenseful page turning than I was expecting in this story, but it made for a very captivating read. While River and Easton become close in a short period of time, the reality is that he's not likely to leave Moose Springs while River isn't planning to stay. Their compromise is believable and gives the reader a very satisfying happy ending. As with the rest of the series, it's a closed door romance with kisses on the page. I'm enjoying my stay in Moose Springs and I hope there will be more to come!

This book was my favourite of the series. I absolutely loved it. It was so fun and addictive. I was expecting not to enjoy Easton’s story as much but I totally loved it. I’m so happy there will be a 4th book. It was great to see Graham and Zoe again but would have loved a but more of Lana and Rick too.

3.5 stars

I was so very close to caving and giving this a 4-star because I love Easton so much and he's basically my hero kryptonite, but even his sweetness couldn't change my mind. I was so ready for his story and I was sure it was going to be my favourite because, I mean, it's about Easton. Sadly, that didn't end up being the case and that's mostly because of our heroine. Other than that, the writing was easy to read, although it did take a little bit longer for me to get into it at the start. Morgenthaler's humour is, as always, woven into the story and I enjoyed having several laugh-out-loud moments especially when it came to the marmot scenes. Oh goodness, those were fantastic and I found myself getting just as attached to the kooky furball as Easton did! I kinda wish the marmot had a comeback scene at the end 😂 The crew's remarks about Easton being a "Sexy Hagrid" were also too good and had me cackling! We get some small cameos with the characters from the previous books which was always fun and of course, I loved when Jake made an appearance in the story again!

Although Easton's story ended up being different to what I expected, I still absolutely loved him (can't lie, I might be biased). He's a gruff bear who's not big on most people but when he cares, you'll have no doubt that he has your back no matter what. And when he finds his person, or as he references using his wolf pack comparison, his mate, he's in it for life and UGH--I'm weak! Especially after that swoontastic ending that had my heart-eye emojis going wild! While I wasn't a huge fan of River all the time (we'll get to why next), I was surprised that I still managed to enjoy their romance. I feel it moved a little faster than the other two romances, thankfully not insta-love though, but their chemistry was great from the start. They had some really cute and sweet moments, especially up on The Old Man, that definitely had me swooning and sighing in my feels. It was so great to see Easton's playful side come out and to see him being cheeky while still blushing like no other mountain man can! 😂

The main reason why I struggled so much with this story was because of River. She wasn't a bad person or heroine and I found her backstory interesting but I really struggled with her lackadaisical attitude towards safety and how she continued to put herself and others (especially Easton) in dangerous and even life-threatening situations just to get her documentary. I understood her need to find that "missing piece" of her and that it was at the top of that mountain, but also, no? I'm sorry, you don't make the same decision to keep putting yourself at risk when you KNOW that mama nature and The Old Man is not to be trifled with. You also don't get to be mad at the person who specifically told you that it was too dangerous and who then rescues your ass, for putting themselves at risk for you because you did the stupid. It just...Kept happening and can ya tell her actions really bothered me? Cos they really bothered me and her crew wasn't much better either. 😂

Aside from those issues, I didn't have any new qualms. I still don't like the citizens of Moose Springs which I continue to find disappointing. I understand why they're against tourists but knowing how certain characters struggle to make ends meet and yet the town shames them for getting a better job by working at the resort or deciding to open their business to tourists, still really irritates me. Thankfully, we don't spend a lot of time in town with the grumpy locals because we were up a mountain! In the end, while I didn't end up loving Enjoy the View, I still liked it enough to want to continue the series if Ash gets a book (and I'm really hoping that she does)!

The 3rd novel in the Moose Springs series took a while to get into but once you did it sucked you in with the force of a tornado. Easton Lockett is a Moose Springs native who takes climbers up the peak, tracks animals, and helps with the family transportation business. River Lane is a Hollywood actress who is tired of bad parts and wants to be taken seriously. River is tasked with making a documentary of Moose Springs but the residents to everything in their power to make sure it isn't made. Faced with not making a documentary and having her career lit up in flames River chooses to make a documentary about climbing the peak with Easton as her guide.
Sparks fly almost immediately between River and Easton is this escapist romcom filled with dramatic moments. Mild in regards to spice level for my fellow romance readers but it certainly hits the spot!

This was my favorite Moose Springs, Alaska novel. It can be read as a stand-alone, so no need to read the others first to know what is going on. I wish there were more interactions with the townspeople, they are a hoot…but this story didn’t really need them to keep the feel of the other books.

We meet Easton first, an introverted mountain man – or that’s what he portrays. Soon you realize he is a real nice guy. One with a sense of humor, that feels deeply, and cares for those around him. I love the fun camaraderie with family and friends. River herself has a snarky and fun personality. She could have so easily gone caustic and unlikeable…but she and her crewmates made me laugh and chuckle quite often, letting me know her better.

I enjoyed watching River and Easton’s attraction grow into a friendship and ultimately love. It blended nicely with the outdoor action of climbing a mountain. Yes, River made a few dumb decisions, but that was part of the story, so I can forgive her. Overall, I loved this story with all it’s quirky humor, characters unexpectedly learning about themselves, the hysterical wildlife, and a sweet happily ever after. I can’t wait for the next book!

Cold scenery and hot, hot, hot scenes. Sarah Morgenthaler did it again with this third title in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. We got to glimpse favorite characters from the previous two books and meet River Lane, floundering actor in town to film a documentary about Moose Springs. What could go wrong? Everything. What happens when she and survivalist Easton Lockett get together? Steam. Can they survive a dangerous climb up an icy cliff or will they fall....in love? Read and find out. Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for a review.

This was not my favorite of the Alaska series. I really LOVED the first two, and I definitely enjoyed this one and the relationship that Easton and River explore together. I think the main reason I wasn't quite as much a fan of this one was that I'm not a mountain climber, so I found that not as interesting as the first two. Still a wonderful book and wonderfully written! I will continue to read all of Sarah Morgenthaler's books because they're all wonderfully thought out and written.

I’m obsessed with this book and Sarah Morgenthaler. It was so good and is definitely my favorite of the series!

This was overall an entertaining and humorous read. The marmot bit was hilarious. However, the heroine River could be grating at times with her reckless behavior that put her in life and death situations on multiple situations. That was hard to get past.

YESSS. I won this from Goodreads and I was (and still am) so excited. If you have not checked out this series yet, this is my official request for you to do so. It’s a series that just is pleasant and happy to read while having the perfect setting of Alaska with a crew of quirky and fun characters. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We return to Moose Springs, Alaska in book 3 to follow River who is ON SET (or well… trying to be if she can just track down the mayor) to shoot a tourism promo video for the area. Easton appears and tries to stop and help her when he thinks she’s broken down on the side of the road and then their paths continue to cross. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A big chunk of this book takes place around the theme of mountain climbing and I was HERE FOR IT. I am a peak bagger in New England which I do not consider mountain climbing (I still just say hiking), but I love, love, loved all the references to preparedness, adjusting to elevation, etc. that were well researched and executed in this story. If mountains aren’t your thing you may just enjoy this for escapism! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While I think you 100% could read this one without the other two, I always suggest starting at the top of the series rather than in the middle, but honestly YOU DO YOU.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I received this book in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley, If you're looking for a Hallmark movie in book form, this is the one for you. River Lane is a Hollywood actress who is desperate for all the exposure. She travels to Alaska to make a documentary, which is where she meets her love interest, Easton Lockett. She learns how to mountain climb, which is an interesting setting for a book. Of course, they start to be attracted to each other and hijinks ensue. It's a cute book, and if you're looking for light and fluffy this is the one for you.

This is the 3rd book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series, and although others might not feel the same way, I enjoyed this one the most. I think it had the right amount of romance, fun and adventure. I loved Easton's character. He was the big, loner of a mountain man, who didn't think anyone would find him attractive. He lived alone in a small house on the family property and was quite happy. He was excellent at his job of taking tourists and groups on climbs and that is where he finds himself in this story. He is taking River Lane and two of her camera crew up to the summit of Mount Veil for a documentary. River has moved from in front of the camera to behind it and has finally landed a job as producer and director. She has been hired by the Alaskan Tourism Board to make a documentary about Moose Springs. She is carrying some baggage and wants to prove herself, but the citizens of Moose Springs are blocking her at every turn. She is an established climber, so when the opportunity presents itself to climb, they decide it will make a great film. Climbing a mountain is dangerous in its own right, but lugging equipment and with inexperienced climbers, you can bet there is goin to be danger and adventure. River also has an aversion to romantic relationships, so as the attraction grows, she tries to fight it. This is a wonderful romantic story, but there is more to it than that. There is a theme of perseverance, finding oneself, taking risks for love and friendship. This was a great addition to this series and I definitely recommend it.
