This book was a decent read, maybe not a favorite, but the author did a good job of keeping the story moving and the characters interesting. There were some things I didn't care for, but others that made it enjoyable. Decent read if you're looking for something light hearted and fun.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
This is a really cute and heartfelt YA! I loved the humor in it, and the group of friends Ellie makes. Once I started it i couldn't put it down. It was really great that there wasnt any 2nd hand embarrassment like other YA books. Overall this was a fun read, and I'm excited to read more from Karen Bischer.
I loved this book! It had a hint of Breakfast Club feel to it, with a group misfits coming together. But Ellie’s home ec team with Isaiah, AJ, and Luke become her school family when they’re forced to work as a group for the entire year in class. I love that all of them come from vastly different backgrounds but they find common ground and truly begin to see each other as a little odd family.
It is definitely one of my favorite reads this year and will definitely be one of my feel-good re-reads in the future!
I cannot say much other than I LOVED THIS BOOK. It wasn’t particularly deep or original, but it was captivating and entertaining throughout. I couldn’t put it down.
Ellie is a high school senior who has finally decided to take the next step with her boyfriend when he decided to dump her. The aftermath forces her out of her shell and his shadow. She begins to meet new friends, take new chances, and learns to stand up for herself. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for an entertaining read. Watch for it March 23, 2021.
Realistic fiction. Students will enjoy this novel. This is the saga of an American teen, Ellie, who realizes that losing a boyfriend can actually be good? Who would have thought that an "accidental" family could become the best thing to happen to Ellie during senior year... definitely not her!? But, perhaps friends and boyfriends should accept you for who you are... not who they want you to be.
