Mean girls. Queen bees. We all know one. Perhaps, you are one.

Let’s move on. Karma. What comes around goes around. Reap what you sow.

OK, enough with the idioms.

“His & Hers” by Alice Feeney begins with Anna Andrews losing her dream job as a TV presenter in London. The presenter that she replaced has finally returned from extended maternity leave and she has just been demoted to an on-site TV reporter. The first story that she is sent to cover is a murder in Blackdown. Unbeknownst to those who know her at the TV station, it just so happens that Blackdown is the town in which Anna grew up. And the murder victim is someone she knows. Someone who has been carrying on with her ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper.

Not only does Anna know the victim, but she knows those closest to the case including the suspects. Things get even more dicey when Jack begins investigating the crime.

The book is told from three points of view; his (Jack), hers (Anna), and whoever has decided that the time to pay for past sins has arrived. It has some great lines.

“Sometimes we choose not to believe the things we don’t want to. I do it all the time. Hide my regrets inside boxes at the back of my mind and choose to forget the bad things I’ve done. Just like my Mother taught me. Denying the truth, doesn’t change the facts.”;

“The lies we tell ourselves are always the most dangerous.”; and

“People tend to see what they want in the people they love. They reshape them inside their heads, twisting them into the people they wish they were instead of the people they are.”

That is so true… I think that is especially accurate of loved ones we have lost. We choose to remember the good about that person and the pleasant memories.

But this time, someone has chosen to remember the not so good things. The mean, spiteful, ugly things. And it is time to pay! This is a great thriller with lots of twists and turns.

And if you’re a mean girl… watch out. Someone may be coming for you. After all, karma’s a bitch.

Absolutely loved this book. The back and forth between Anna and Jack kept the suspense going on and on. I was floored by the ending and never saw it coming. This is a fantastic, suspenseful read. Highly recommended.

Fast-paced, dark and twisted! I enjoyed this book so much. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a thriller! Read it! You won’t regret it!!

Wow! This story kept me guessing. The narrators were spectacular and I loved the wild ride. The pacing of the book was excellent and the variety in the narration voice left no doubt as to who was telling the story. I can't imagine the print version being as maniacal because the third narrator was so well done. This book adds a dimension to the adage of there being two sides to every story. We see his, hers and some version of the truth. The third voice in this book is absolutely unnerving and creepy! It's best to go into this book with very little known beyond the publisher summary and the small bit I've shared. Really enjoyed! Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an early copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This was my first audiobook that I received to review through Netgalley, and I binge-listened to it. There were three narrators in this book–him, her, and the murder. The narrators tone and inflection was absolutely perfect for each of the characters, and kept me engaged throughout. The plot was well-developed and kept me guessing who the killer was right until the end; even when I thought I had it figured out there was another twist that left me feeling satisfied. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. I'm looking forward to more audiobooks being added to request and plan to read more of Alice Feeney's work in the future.

DANG! This one got me - I thought I had it ALL figured out and NOPE - DID. NOT. The character development in this novel was really great! I loved the switching between His/Her/Killer chapters, as that's truly one of my favorite ways to read novels, and reminded me of Gone Girl. IT WAS SO GREAT! Red herrings set beautifully throughout the novel to mislead you in every direction possible! Get your hands on this one!!!

W O W! What a ride. This is one of my favorite books of the year. I enjoyed the quick pace of the plot and the twisted nature of the killings. Just when I thought I had it figured out I was thrown for a loop! I listened to this one and found the narrators to be enjoyable.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

What a captivating audiobook!
5 stars from start to finish!

At 71% I thought it was character A.
At 81% I thought it was character B.
To say I was kept on the edge of my seat would be an understatement.
🕵🏼
The writing in this novel kept me hooked! The moment I learned of the connection between “His” and “Hers” I knew this would be a wild one.

There has been some less than positive thoughts about this book on IG and Goodreads but as a reader, I go into every fiction book knowing these are made up people and situations. With that in mind, I don’t struggle with triggers. This book has a lot of them but for me, again as an avid reader of mysteries and thrillers, I can handle them knowing this isn’t a true story. Take that for what you will, but overall, I think this is a MUST READ THRILLER!

I received an advanced copy of this audiobook via NetGalley and it did not disappoint.

I jumped at the chance to listen to a digital arc.

It has always been my opinion that the narrator can make or break an audio book. In this case there are two to give voice to the cast of characters. How do Stephanie Racine and Richard Armitage score? Superior.

Read carefully as you will need to note the details to separate those telling the truth and those who are unreliable to solve the murder(s) in this deliciously twisting psychological tale. Often I resent knowing there are twists going in but in this case I loved the heads-up. Yes, I had to go back and read some parts again. I'm betting you will also.

I dnf this. I'm really sorry I just couldn't get into the book. I didn't like the male narroter at all.

Wow! I thought I knew who was behind it all three separate times and I was wrong! Never saw the ending happening at all! Loved the narrators and the plot! Intriguing, fast paced, and twisty and turns that leaves you with your head spinning! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 solid stars for this one! Thank you MacMillan Audio, Net Galley, And Alice Feeney for this book in exchange for an honest review!

Sometimes as much as you would like then to be, your high school days are not over. Some people never change and the things you did or did not do come back to haunt. A pretty good thriller, but nit too sure I can buy into the ending, though it was exciting to get there. Hate animal cruelty and there is an episode of that within, though it is short-lived. I skimmed it. I did like how this thriller was divided, hearing from he and then she with the killers voice nterspersed within.

I have been listening to nonfiction on audio for a while now, but have recently ventured into fiction. I really think the audio added greatly to this novel. The killers voice was shivery creepy. I give four stars to the narrators, Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine. Their voices were perfect.

ARC from Netgalley.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for an Audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.

His & Hers follows TV Journalist Anna Andrews and her detective ex-husband Jack as people from their pasts are being killed one by one. They both have motive and connections with the victims, but both are trying to solve the murders without earning suspicion. Why are all these people ending up dead now, and who could possibly be behind it?

This was an amazing audiobook. The story is told from three perspectives: His(Jack), Hers(Anna), and the killer. To keep the suspension at an all time high, the killers chapters are read with a voice modifier, revealing not even the gender of the murderer. The narrators go so into character throughout the novel that you find yourself entranced at times. I found myself alot like Anna and Jack, with time unaccounted for because I was so wrapped up.

While I really enjoyed the main characters and the plot, some of the victims weren't really introduced until they had been murdered which caused a bit if disconnection for me. This could have been by design, as each victims role in last events is unpackaged after their demise but it just wasn't for me. I didn't get the satisfaction in their deaths that I could have after given the knowledge of how all these characters knew each other.

The reveal of the killer is quite literally the last chapter of the book and I didn't see it coming. I felt like the killer had a good motive for doing what they did, and how it all works out for them will fill you with a grand feeling that all is right with the world. Four stars from me for this thriller. I recommend for anyone looking to be thrilled 16 and up as there are adults themes

Oh the tangled web we weave. And certainly Alice Feeney did that here with this mystery/thriller. The very complicated relationships - parent, child, friendship, marriage, co-workers and those who aren't really friends but you wonder how to navigate them are all included in this story. It's woven tight and begins to unravel as bits and pieces are thrown like breadcrumbs to build the story and curiosity of the identity of the murderer grew! What a wild ride she took us on .. just when I thought I'd solved I questioned my guess, over and over. Overall good thriller with minimum gore and maximum anticipation!

A chilling book - made even more chilling thanks to the brilliant narrators. especially the third mystery voice.

A warning to sensitive readers though - this book has sexual abuse in it, so be aware of this before listening as it may be a trigger for some listeners.

Thanks to the alternating "His" and "Her's" story-line you can't decide whether to pause the narration or not - to stunned to listen further, too intrigued not too.

I started to fill in the gaps around halfway and got a vague idea of something terrible that had happened twenty years ago and knowing who was involved, made me think I knew who the perpetrator was. I thought it so obvious, although I went between two characters for a while eventually discarding the main person I thought was obvious as being too obvious - not that either of my two guesses were even remotely correct.

The murderer turns out to be a master manipulator - an ultimate show of good vs evil raging within one person. All the pieces of the puzzle fall together in the last chapter and everything makes perfect sense - even though the "perfect sense" is as creepy/warped as you can get.

This book is best listened to when its sunny outside as listening before bedtime may cause a bit of sleeplessness!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me the chance to listen to this book.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, especially given the description that indicates it will be told from both perspectives and that these wouldn’t necessarily be fully accurate accounts. This intrigued me and was the reason I wanted to read the book.

I have to say this book quickly sucked me in and refused to let go! I used the audiobook format and I have to say it worked incredibly well in this format and I think even added to the story. It was interesting hearing the story from both perspectives, trying to work out what was really going on, who was the guilty party and why! This book certainly kept me guessing as it progressed and had me changing my mind about the killer throughout the book as we heard more of the story. I loved the whole plot in this book and the way it was laid out, and re sales layer by layer. And just when you thought it was all wrapped up there was a good twist at the end.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be searching out more books by this author, it was one of those books that surprises you in a positive way when initially you weren’t really expecting much from it. I feel happy to recommend this book to others, and hope if you read it you enjoy it as much as I did.

I gave this book 4 1/2 stars overall, and would like to say thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing a copy of this book to me for an open and honest review.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book and it was highly enjoyable! The narrators used different voices and accents for all the characters and that was extremely helpful in differentiating who was speaking.

The plot was so exciting and flowed so well that I just wanted to keep reading. I’m usually not a fan of detective crime novels but this one felt so different, because of the relationship between the detectives and the other characters. It felt more personal.

I kept trying to figure out the murderer the whole time but ended up not knowing until the very end. In my book, that means the story is fantastic if I didn’t figure out the ending.

For me, it took forever to get into this book. It was a very long 90 % of the book then a very short intense 10%. I was going back and forth on who the killer was.

It was ok.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC (audiobook)

This has to be Alice Feeney's best book yet!

It's twisty, it's exciting, it's enough to keep you guessing right to the end.

I did have it figured out quite early on, but there were so many red herrings that I kept second guessing myself right to the very end. I admit the last chapter didn't thrill me much but the rest of the book was a winner.

The audiobook is DEFINITELY the way to go with this one. The creepy 3rd narrator brings it home.

Big thanks to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for this excellent audiobook to listen to and give my own honest opinion.
