First audio book I have had, been listening to it too and from work
Completely had me gripped from start to finish
The plot is brilliant and works really well with all the twists and turns
You think you have it worked out and then - no there is another twist that knocks you off track
It's so fast paced you become breathless keeping up
Then the end - didn't see that coming

Thank you Alice Feeney for your fabulous writing
Thank you netgalley and McMillan Audio for allowing me to read and review this book

**Review**

When it says this book will keep you guessing until the very end, it means it. I thought I had it figured out a few times, switching between characters who I thought was the killer more than once or twice.

You get three major perspectives in this story. His & Hers and an unknown who you assume is the only reliable one, yet aren't quite sure who it is. I loved this! It worked so well for this story and it certainly kept me on my toes the whole time.

I really enjoyed the story of how all the characters were connected and the parts they played, building the puzzle of what happened all those years ago to now. The little bit of love story added just that extra bit of wonder and intensity that brought the whole story together at the end.

**Audiobook Review**

I really enjoyed both narrators. They really took on the tone of the characters they played and made the performance believable.

I will say that the third unknown narrator in the story at first bothered me, as it was a voice that was being hidden by a voclalizer. But as the story went on, I quickly got used to it and believe that it worked perfectly for this particular story.

Oh. My. Stars! I loved this book! I was a fan of Sometime I lie as well but this went to the next level. I had it figured out and then BAM...more twists than a licorice stick! I thought the main characters Anna and Jack As a tv host and detective were well written and relatable. Just when you thought you knew what was coming next, you didn’t. It develops fast and deep and I wished it wouldn’t end. Loved it!! 10/10

Thank you Netgalley for an ALC of my first Alice Feeney novel! This was really enjoyable as an audiobook with the assortment of characters and the different voices that portrayed them, especially the killer involved in this story. I thought I had the killer nailed down about halfway through the story, but I was totally wrong! The author did a fantastic job of keeping you guessing until the very last chapter!

I received an audio copy of His &Hers from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This has been my first opportunity to review an audio book and I am so glad this feature is now available. Alice Feeney did not disappoint with this latest thriller. The characters were well developed and the audio book was easy to follow, I did not find myself getting distracted as I sometimes do with audio books. The ending was by far my favorite and I did not see it coming. If you like a good thriller this one will not disappoint!

Anna is a news reporter covering a murder case. Detective Jack Harper wonders if Anna herself is involved in the murder but he becomes suspect in his own case. Someone isn’t telling the truth.
This is the first novel I’ve read from Alice Feeney and wow what a great introduction to her writing! A bit of a slow beginning but once the story got going I was sucked right in. I needed to know what was going to happen. I listened to most of the book in one day, finishing it the next day. The story kept me guessing until the very end. I really enjoy stories told from multiple points of view. The narrators did a great job! I highly recommend you read or listen this one up soon!

This was my first read by Alice Feeney, and it will not be my last. I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrators were so good!

I go into most of my thrillers blind because sometimes things in the blurbs, give to many things away for my preference. I'm so glad I did with this one! It was such a wild ride and I enjoyed trying to figure out all of the pieces to the puzzle and was stumped until the big reveal.

The alternating narrators, plus a mysterious third voice, sucked me into both view points of this story and I couldn't listen fast enough. I usually only listen to audiobooks in the car but with this one, I was trying to find other times during the day to find time to get more listening in.

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

After loving her first book and hating the second, I am happy to say His & Hers was a great thriller and re-established my faith in Alice Feeney.
The book follows Anna, a TV presenter, and Jack, a detective, as they get involved in a series of mysterious killings.
I really liked both Anna and Jack as characters. Feeney did a great job making them highly unreliable: it was clear they were witholding many informations but it was hard to say if they were involved in the murders or not. The cast of secondary characters was also well done, because all of them acted strangely at times and made you question them. The ending and the solution was also very surprising, I didn't guess it at all! Everything made sense, and I would like to re-read the book in the future knowing how it ends, to search for the clues I missed.

I received the audiobook version from NetGalley, and I really enjoyed it. Both narrators did a tremendous job (and one of them is Richard Armitage!), their narrations were smooth and compelling. There is also a third narrator, the killer, whose voice is distorted so we don't know if it's a man or a woman. It was very creepy and added a lot of suspense to the story.

This was my first book by Alice Feeney, and I quickly fell in love with her story-telling ability!

I listened to this audiobook and while I'm sure reading a physical copy would still have been a great experience, due to the story having multiple narrators and including the use of a voice changer, this makes for an AMAZING audiobook!

From the beginning of this murder mystery, I was extremely engaged. I thought I had guessed the ending correctly around 4 times, only to be taken on a roller coaster of twists and turns that I never could have imagined all the way up until the very end!

They say that there are always two sides to the story.  In this well-narrated audio book, we hear both; one for him and one for her.  This is a suspense filled novel about a woman who was murdered in an English village.  Follow Anna and Jack, reporter and police officer, along with the many twists in the tale.  Sadly, my time with this title was over with NetGalley before I finished it.  I will find another way as I want to know what happened.  I will connect with my library or bookstore immediately.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest

Wow. What a great listen! His and Hers points of view each chapter. Who do you trust when it comes to these two unreliable narrators? This one kept me guessing to the very end. I loved this audiobook!

This was my first audiobook from NetGalley - I'm not a huge fan of thrillers on audio, but I was desperate to read this one so I went for it! The narrators were very good - I liked that there was a male for the male perspective and female for the female perspective. The story was absolutely crazy and I never knew who was the killer. The only negative comment is that I thought there were a few too many red herrings trying to intentionally trick the reader. A very twisty and unpredictable thriller that is perfect to distract you from anything!

Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.

His & Hers is my first Alice Feeney book, and I have to say that I'm impressed. It wasn't an instant favorite, but definitely one of the stronger crime thrillers I've read this year. I liked it well enough to definitely pick up Feeney's other books! I listened to this one, and at about the half way point, despite having other things I needed to get done, I had to prioritize finishing this book because the need to know how it would end pushed everything else out of my head.

I really liked both of the main points of view. His & Hers follows Anna and Jack, her a news reporter and him a police detective, as they both investigate a series of murders. The definitely both had their own voices, added to by stellar audio narration. Seriously, can we get Richard Armitage reading every crime thriller please? There's also a third, much smaller POV that I won't specifically name, but there's an obvious filter over the voice in the audiobook that I hated. It's there for a reason, and I get it, but I listen to my books at a higher speed than normal and those chapters were so hard to understand, and it was annoying to have to slow down the narration just for those bits. But story wise, all of the characters this book follows are compelling, and I loved how their stories intertwined. I think Feeney did a great job of giving both Anna and Jack bits of the backstory to reveal, creating a full puzzle together.

Speaking of the puzzle, I think my favorite aspect of His & Hers was the use of flashbacks. It was never like, "ATTENTION: This is a flashback." It was seamless in the narrative. Anna's story would be playing out, and then all the sudden she would be thinking about an event from the past, and I as the reader would be transported there. Then back to the present. It never felt clunky, just a natural train of thought that I was following along with. I really liked it, and it made the use of flashbacks feel less gimmicky than they usually feel to me.

Again, this was my first Alice Feeney book, so I wasn't sure what to expect content-wise at all really. This story took some really dark turns. I wish I'd seen some sort of trigger warning for sexual assault and rape(among other things) before hand, but that said, the story does give a little warning that those things are coming. But yeah, content warnings are a good this and I'll definitely be providing them for this book to anyone I want to recommend it to.

I spent the majority of this book thinking I knew what the twist would be. Like I said, I didn't know what to expect from Feeney, twists included. And in a way, I did guess a twist. I did not, however, guess the twists, and that's always a plus in my book. I love to be surprised, and this book gave me two red herrings that frankly would have been a huge disappointment before delivering a really great ending. It was unexpected, it made sense, and it left me wanting to go back and look for clues I missed. So if you like a good twist, this book definitely delivers one.

His & Hers was really fun to listen to, I could see myself listening to it again one day. It's fast, compelling, and the end really pays off. I can't wait to check out more of Feeney's books. If you like crime thrillers and surprise endings, this book is for you.

Who was the murderer?
In this book, everyone is a suspect. You might have your suspicions, but you just never know who the killer really is, until the very end. This book was spectacularly narrated. The alternating between male and female narrators (plus a third if you want to count the voice changer) suited my taste perfectly. Let's get to the story itself, which was full of surprises. The way the author wove the two story lines together, his and hers, was done particularly well. As a listener, this was what kept me on my toes and also what drove me to go on extra walks and drives to finish the story. Some secrets are worth killing to keep.

What worked really well was both narrators, and the "who done it" aspect of the story. It is very dark, and twisty, so for fans of thrillers, this book will hit the mark. However, for those with sensitivity to rape/sexual violence, this book is one you would want to steer clear of. Although it does not go into graphic detail, the story alludes to it, and that in and of itself is cause to warn readers to this sensitive topic.

This book totally works in the audio format, so I think either way you choose to read this book, you'll be pleased you did.

My Goodreads rating of this book is 4/5 stars.

If this were a single line review it’d say “You need to read this if you love thrillers”.

But here goes the 5⭐️ review!

“There are always two sides to a story- Yours & Mine, Ours & Theirs, His & Hers”

The story alters between His, Jack and Hers, Anna and a third creepy voice, the murderer. I “read” this as an audiobook and listening through this was like being inside the heads of these three characters. It was thrilling, worrisome and cold!! If someone has figured how to turn a simple murder mystery into a most excited story, its Alice Feeney. I had mixed thoughts about her previous works, but this one is a winner.

Sorry I’m rambling, but its been a week since I finished this one and its still with me!! I never expected/suspected the character behind the third voice.. it caught me by surprise. But again, it’s something one has to do to protect a loved one!

Jack & Anna are like two lost birds, even they know they belong together, but they are not. Because after going through a hard time, its tough to be around each other, its reminds the painful times. That third voice.. Uh, believe me, you’ll guess till last, and when you think you’ve found the killer, you’ll be astonished, because its not who you think it is!

Audio book was good, had no issues with the sound/quality. The narrators were exceptional!!

Thank you Netgalley, Macmillan audio for the AAC. This review is my own and is not influenced in any way.

I really liked the narrators and the story. The audio book was interesting because the killer had a mechanic distinct voice. It was a fast paced book. Hope you enjoy this book as much as i did.

This well deserves the description “cat and mouse game”. There are so many who could be the murderer. Anna Andrews gets caught up in reporting the murders of former girls with whom she went to grammar school in a small English town. Her ex-husband, Jack, is the Detective Chief Inspector in charge of the investigation. Both could be the murderer. It’s a page turner and leaves the reader in disbelief when the actual murderer is discovered. Alternating chapters between Hers (Anna) and His (Jack), the tension crackles even more in the excellent narration of the audio version. In fact, I’d say this is one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to. It’s a creepy story and the listener won’t be prepared for the ending.

Blackdown is a quiet little village outside of London that suddenly finds itself thrust into the national spotlight when a body is found under some rather mysterious circumstances. Anna Andrews, a correspondent for BBC--formerly the anchor--is sent to cover the story in Blackdown, which happens to be the village she grew up in. She soon finds herself doing more than simply covering the story, however; it turns out she knows the victim, drawing her into the story and the case. In charge of the case is DCI Jack Harper, head of the major crime team, who also happens to know the victim. Jack opts not to tell anyone, until he begins to look like a suspect himself. Someone knows more than they will admit to; there is his side, and her side.

His & Hers is a face-paced mystery that I had a hard time putting down. The action is told from his side and her side, along with a third, mysterious narrator. Aside from giving the reader the two sides to the story, the back and forth created a lot of suspense in the story, and, needing to know what would happen, I was often unable to put it down. It also has various flashback moments that add depth to the characters and the mystery. Feeney throws mystery and action at the reader right at the beginning, and continues to do so all the way through to the end. The plot is deliciously twisted, as are many of the characters, but there are some parts that some people might have a hard time with. The characters are well developed and the reader really gets a good look into the thoughts and motivations of Anna and Jack.

I read and partially listened to His & Hers. I really liked the narration done by the mysterious, third narrator; I liked that it was done with a voice-modifier, making it more difficult to figure out who it is. The “Him” narrator honestly bugged me. I did not like the way women’s dialogue sounded when he spoke for a female. If I only had the audiobook I would have listened to the whole thing, because the story is so strong and entertaining, but since I had the ebook as well I, after awhile, listened to the third narrator when their parts came, and read the rest.

Thank you to Flatiron Books for an ebook and NetGalley for an audiobook of His & Hers, given in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Twist upon twist make this a suspenseful and engaging book. Every time I thought I had it figured, something would happen and I'd learn that I was wrong. Moves a bit slow in places, but well worth the time.

When Anna loses her temporary position as news "presenter," she is sent to her old home town to report on a murder. Once there, memories catch up with her. The crime itself reconnects her with her police officer ex-husband Jack and they find themselves caught up in a series of murders apparently linked to their teen years. Dual viewpoints reveal both their personal histories and current lives, as the story drills into the people and events that connect them. Skillfully performed in alternating chapters by Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine, as Jack and Anna talk to the listener, but there are insertions with the disguised voice of the mysterious killer who is equally slow in his/her revelations. The book seems written specifically for audio performance and is absolutely gripping up until the end, where twists and turns get very ambiguous, and the story seems to loose its grip on authenticity. Still, it's a very fine listen and is sure to appeal to a wide audience of listeners who enjoy psychological fiction.
