This was a wild ride. If you’re looking for a thriller packed with murder that will keep you engaged and guessing the entire time, this book might be for you. I found myself physically cringing at some of the content I’d found to be problematic (I hate saying that as a description of content, but feel it’s accurate in this instance). In a storyline where every character has their own secrets (some much darker and disturbing than the rest), one might find themselves rooting for the killer.

I tend to prefer reading thrillers via audiobooks these days it really amps up the excitement. Or is supposed to, which in this case wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. To be honest it was more so the plot that I had issues with, it was kind of a mess. While I did not finish the book I feel like the plot was just giving way too much away and was going to be extremely predictable. Was a nope for me.

It has been 4 days since I’ve finished listening to Alice Feeney’s latest psychological thriller and my mind is still reeling from the finale!!! There’s no better word to describe the (audio)book except that it’s a total mindf*ck and you have to read/listen to it to be able to understand what I’m gushing about!!!! As the saying goes, there’s always 3 sides to a story: His, Hers and the Truth.

This story has 3 POV’s - His (Jack), Hers (Anna) and a mysterious distorted voice. Anna is a BBC news presenter recently demoted back to being a reporter. She finds herself covering the brutal murder of a woman in her hometown. Investigating the crime scene is DCI Jack, who is actually Anna’s ex-husband. Several other women begin to surface thereafter... all of them murdered in a gruesome fashion. What’s concerning is that not only were these people connected to one another, but also Anna and Jack both have deep ties with these women!!! As the story progresses, it would seem that Anna and Jack both have ulterior motives for wanting them dead. Who is telling the truth and who is lying?

From the first chapter down to the last one, you are in for a rollercoaster ride as the layers of truth begin to peel away one by one. You’ll find yourself guessing who’s the killer only to be blindsided in the end. I swear you won’t ever guess whodunnit, however discerning you are in thriller books 😱😱😱 This book sure used the term Unreliable Narrators to the hilt and for this reason, I give His & Hers a solid 🔖🔖🔖🔖🔖/5 rating!!!! If I can give a standing ovation I would! That’s how I loved this one! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I really cannot wait for you guys to read/listen to this one if you haven’t already!

This was a really dark, twisty, well-paced thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed! The characters were all interesting and complex. Everything was related and intricately connected. I saw red herrings all around and even fell for a few. I was constantly guessing and on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. I did have some suspicions about what was going on that ultimately were partly correct, but the story was told in such a compelling way that I was extremely satisfied with how everything unraveled. I really loved the narration and how it simplified the character identification for me.

I received the audio book from NetGalley but since I only listen to audio book while I garden usually, I also purchased the book so I would not have to wait to the next gardening season. The audio book was engaging and I truly enjoyed it. I must add that this is one of the rare story I did not figure out the ending and I was really pleased about that. I would recommend!

His & Hers was such a fun, twisty story! I read a lot of thrillers so it takes a lot really pull me in. This thriller was unique and the audiobook was downright creepy. I enjoyed the twists and was not able to predict the ending which is always a bonus! I have not read anything else by Alice Feeney but I will definitely be checking out more of her work!

YES! This book was awesome! There definitely was not enough hype for this one. It should be on everyone's want to read list! Highly recommend!

This book was so incredibly dark and twisted. The story line took off in so many directions and I literally trusted no one. I was making guesses and assumptions left and right. I'll admit I was way off. A lot. The end, blew me away. Honestly, this book was extremely dark at times and could be triggering for people. Some parts definitely were rough to read and I fully intend to read a happier book next. If you're looking for a complex and twisted thriller that will keep you guessing... definitely pick this one up!

I am pretty disappointed with this book, which is sad because Alice Feeney is one of my favorite authors.

This is actually the second time I picked this book up to read - the first time I was bored and dnf'd it about 60 pages in.

If you love whodunit mysteries with a detective point of view, then you will probably really enjoy this book. I don't like slow burn mysteries and I'm not a huge fan of detective novels. I was very bored the first 200 pages and even the last 30 pages I was just hoping the book would finally wrap up.

This book is about 2 povs - the detective and a news anchor. A woman is found dead and the whole book is dedicated to finding who the murderer is. There are flashbacks to a teen friend group that gave me strong pretty little liar vibes and there are excerpts in italics that are the voice of the unknown murderer.

I was extremely disappointed in the far fetched ending. Yes, Feeney did a great job throwing us off multiple times, but the actual ending was incredibly unbelievable and the long letter at the end explaining how the murderer planned it all was tacky.

This is the 3rd book I've listened to by this author, and all 3 have been difficult to put down! Every character is a suspect and there are red herrings throughout. There is also an event or discovery in each of her books that is unquestioningly disturbing, but so unique compared with many other books that won't cross that line. For me, I loved the anticipation of finding out what messed up situation the author would come up with - I have not been disappointed yet! Then, even knowing there would be a twist at the end, I was still taken by surprise because it was more like a triple twist! *Warning - this book does have scenes that include sex, bullying, rape, and murder, though none are described in graphic detail*

This is an amazing story that should be experience via audio book. The writing is practically flawless. The narration and performance are amazing. You are completely immersed in what is happening.

The audiobook narration for this book immerses the reader directly into the story right from the beginning. The unreliable narrator of the books gives the reader an edge of your seat feeling as you try to piece together clues to solve the mystery in this book.

I will admit that this title and format were interesting to me for two reasons. First, Alice Feeney's name had been periodically popping up on my recommendation radar on and off for a while now. I thought it was time to check one of her titles out. Second, I haven't listened to an audiobook narrated by Richard Armitage that I didn't like in terms of narration quality. Both reasons exceeded my expectations.

Alice Feeney weaves a disturbing, psychological tale alternating between two points of view, obviously, His and Hers. The His point of view comes from Jack Harper, a detective that has retreated back to his hometown of Blackdown after suffering a devastating loss in his personal life. The Hers point of view comes from his ex-wife, Anna Andrews, a reporter who returns to her very same hometown of Blackdown to cover a murder investigation that has upended the quiet town. She is also coping with some serious problems in her personal life as well. We also have some chapters that are from the perspective of the actual killer in the story, but their voice is distorted as to keep you in the dark.

As the story untangles itself in spindly little steps, it leaves you questioning everyone and everything. If you're looking for some likable or heroic characters, you will not find them here. Most characters in this book have some major issues to put it in basic terms. Most of the issues I'm talking about are due to the characters being terrible people or making terrible decisions. There are some truly horrible people in this story. While I understand that some of the major events that happened in this novel would understandably cause someone to make bad decisions because of their mental state, it still doesn't help me identify or invest myself into these characters. That being said, I don't think this story was meant for you to like these characters or empathize with them. Much like the third perspective of this story, I think your job is to mainly watch the events unravel and witness the devastation that it leaves in its wake.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. Each chapter left me going, "Wait, what? But, then..." I didn't guess the perpetrator and was left reeling at the reveal. The ending had a couple of confusing pieces that I couldn't quite calculate or understand completely. I won't reveal them here as to not spoil the story, but it wasn't enough confusion for me to rate this title any lower. Great first read from Alice Feeney for me. Excellent narration from both Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine. Shout-out to the distorted voice of the killer's perspective for making me jump out of my skin when one of those chapters would unexpectedly start without warning. Really added to the atmosphere of listening.

Alice Feeney is a hit or miss author with me, this book just couldn't hold my interest. At the 60% mark I just had to tell myself to stop reading as it just wasn't for me. There's nothing I can ultimately put my finger on I just didn't vibe with the characters.

His & Hers is a layered thriller murder mystery with so many twists and turns. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators do not disappoint! The killer's voice went through a voice distorter, it was so creepy, and it kept me guessing right up to the very last chapter.

I was given an advanced copy by NetGalley for my honest review. FIVE STARS! This was a fantastic book!

Can't comment on this one, couldn't get the download to work. I did read some outside of what NetGalley had to offer and am excited to pick it up at a later date.

I was so excited to get this book because I absolutely love Richard Armitage and when I found out he was narrating parts of this book I swooned. I did not thing that the story itself was particularly unique as I read so many thrillers that it's hard to find something that has not been done before, but I did really love this book. I think that Alice Feeney has such a way of writing that even if the story has been told before she can make you love it. I personally enjoyed the switch between chapters that was told from different POVs because I feel like when that is done you get a more rounded view of the story itself. Their are plot twists, reveals, and dramatics that Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine did an amazing job bringing to life. If you love thrillers I highly suggest that you pick this book up and give it a go. Even if it is not the most unique thriller you have ever read you will still enjoy the ride it takes you on.

Some books are just better as audiobooks. This is one of those books. I'll tell you why. This very suspenseful tale switched point of view from "him" to "her" to the killer. This format was chilling and twisted and kept me guessing. But, had I been reading the paper book, I wouldn't have had the added creep factor of the purposeful distortion of the voice used for the sections read by the killer. I LOVED the chill I would get while those sections were read, and I applaud the narrator for their choices in those sections. This book was a surprise at every turn, full of unreliable characters and horrible childhood trauma. It was dark and brooding and had me on the edge of my seat. I went back and forth several times between characters I thought were responsible for the evil in this book, and I was no where close. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a twisted tale.

I really enjoyed this book and the narration, OMG! This is one of those books that’s a lot better as an audiobook. I did not guess the end and loved how it was all tied up.

This audiobook has to be one of the best ones I have ever listened to. This full cast of him (Jack), her (Anna) and the creepy murderer made me binge this within 2 days.

The story starts with Anna at her dream job as a news reporter and Jack investigating the death of a women dumped in the woods. Turns out, not only does Jack know her, intimately, Anna does as well and she gets sent back to her hometown to report on the murder.

I loved the multiple POVs as well as the jumps in the timeline from present day to back when Anna was in high school. There were so many twists and turns, it kept me guessing until the very end.
