Yikes I'm so sorry! I had no idea books got sent to a non download file!
Luckily I have bought them! So sorry
But nonetheless thank you NetGalley and publisher for this copy when given the chance!
I just loved and adored this book!
The romance is not only entertaining, but it’s perfectly paced and had me laughing the entire read!
The main characters were both likable and relatable.
The story wow simply adorable and I was hooked from the first page!
My First My Last My Only is a fantastic novel that explores the insecurities of the heroine. Despite her many flaws and those who continually point them out to her in public, she learns to follow her dreams and use her strengths for a career path in baking that she loves. The courage to forge ahead in this area she excels in leads to more courage to stop, hiding from social events and step, out of her comfort zone by hiding to embrace friendships. When her first and only love returns, a famous movie star no less, she’s as shocked as the rest of the town that he has returned for her! A story of fears, of flaws, family, new friends, and enemies, this novel gives readers a real insight to the inner barriers that too often stop People from realizing and reaching their full potential and capacity and worthiness of real love. A great read!
Sweet book about socially awkward Franny who still dreams about the only boy she's ever kissed. Imagine her surprise when he returns to town. Mitch is now a famous actor and director. Franny's mother tries to set Mitch up with Franny's picture perfect sister. How will Franny get through this.
Well written with wonderful character's.
I absolutely adored this book! The romance is not only entertaining, but it’s perfectly paced and had me laughing and smiling the entire time. I loved Franny. I loved Mitch. I loved the relationships Franny develops throughout the book.
Franny is the most hilarious character I have read in a long time. She is constantly getting into scrapes because of her clumsiness or lack of spatial awareness. Awful things happen one after the other after the other, and it felt perfectly natural for the character to keep finding herself in an awkward situation.
I enjoyed the themes of family and finding your own self-confidence and self-worth. The characters and events fit perfectly with those themes, and I especially enjoyed watching Franny grow as a character. Ten out of ten would read this book again.
My rating: 5+ stars
Thank you Netgalley, Backlit PR and Denise Carbo for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Cute and quirky, My First My Last My Only takes readers to the small town of Granite Cove and into the world of Frannie Dawson. She’s a little timid and a whole lot clumsy but she can make a pie that will make you cry. I really appreciated Frannie’s authentic character. Yes, sometimes the internal dialogue was a little immature for a twenty five year old, but I still connected with her immediately! I’ve been lucky enough to have an amazing mother, but my step mother would probably get alone fantastic with Frannie’s. I was rooting for her the whole way as we watched Frannie gain her confidence and find her voice, whether that be standing up to her mother or propelling her career forward. I will say, though, I am not a fan of the virgin character. It’s so over written and honestly it’s 2020. Let a gal have a little fun before she meets the love of her life eesh. The ending was predictable of course, but the last punch of high drama was a little much.
The side characters in this were great!... and single which leaves me hoping this is not the last time Denise Carbo takes us to Granite Cove.
Frannie still lives with her parents while saving to buy the building she has her bakery in, so she can live there and finally start her own life. Her mother is quite overbearing. When she finds her childhood crush, Mitch, has returned to Granite Cove she tries to avoid him. She knows her is a famous director now and far out of her league. Besides that, he has bought the building she wanted and now she has to make other plans.
I read this book rather fast. I liked Frannie and was appalled at how her mother treated her. Mitch did not mind at all how accident-prone Frannie was and I liked the interactions between the pair. Overall the book reminded me of the Mills&Boon books I used to read in my teens. Very sweet. I upped from 3,5 stars to 4 as the story was well written and funny.
My First My Last My Only vacillates between snort through your nose funny (I can relate to Franny's clumsiness!) and wistful smiles during this story about second chance love and standing up for yourself. I could easily envision myself in Granite Cove thanks to the author's descriptive writing and heartwarming plot.
