This is a story about Rabbit's birthday, (and fox gets a little brother) set in an apartment building, where you can see what's going on in each apartment in the building.
The story itself wasn't anything special as far as I'm concerned, but I really enjoyed the illustrations and there's a lot for the kids to notice (I especially liked the inclusion of the Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, and Red Riding Hood!)
What a delightful book! Each page has so much to explore. There are so many stories happening outside of the one being told. A good book to engage your young reader in telling a story in their own words - brilliant!
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This picture book is about Rabbit's birthday and how everyone is getting ready.l The illustrations are what make this book as there is a lot to look at.
This style reminds me of Richard Scarry books, which I loved as a child. The illustrations have so much going on that you notice something different every time you look at the book. This is perfect for my students, as we often "read" books by talking through the pictures, labeling objects we see and teaching new language through the visuals in the story. I really love this and it would be a great addition to my library.
Thank you NetGalley and Kids Can Press for gifting me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
While the idea of the book is good and the illustrations are well done, I think there’s too much going on in both. The story isn’t focused enough for a child, as it branches off into a few different plot lines that aren’t related to the birthday party. The illustrations involve so many different characters that have nothing to do with the story, though they are fun for a search and find (looking for other fairytales like Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood) or a make up your own story type of book. Overall, it was a cute idea, but I think it would have benefitted more from streamlining the story and making it just about the birthday party.
This one was such a cute children's book. I would recommend this for young readers. I though the artwork was lovely and it was very mentally stimulating.
I greatly enjoyed this book, the themes, and the illustrations. I thought that there might be a little bit too much going on in the illustrations at first, but it did not seem to take the focus away from the story and it’s development.

This book reminds me of Richard Scarry with lots of little details. The illustrations in this book are so fun and charming. The story line is weak, though. I think this book would be better as a wordless picture book. There are several stories shown in the illustrations: the Cat family, the Fox family, Mr. Owl, even Goldilocks and the Big Bad Wolf!
It would be interesting to cover the print and challenge students to create their own written stories, based on the illustrations. Sadly, I think I will pass on purchasing this book for my school library.
Although the pages are extremely busy, my children and I loved looking through the apartment houses. Great conversation piece since it has so much to comment on. I got lost just looking at the detailed pictures of the rooms. Absolutely loved this book and see it as a possible fan favorite in my household!
This is a sweet book with a lot going on in the illustrations. This can be fun for kids to look at but it can also be distracting. There are many families living in what seems like an apartment building. It is little rabbit’s birthday and there is a lot to be done.
The illustrations in this book are beyond amazing. I could sit and look at them all day and still not see every piece of detail. Even if this book was just a picture book without words, it would still be an amazing story! It's Little Rabbit's birthday, and this book goes through everything he does to get ready for his birthday party.
A really cute book about different animal families that live in an apartment building. The illustrations were wonderful as you see the cross section of all the animal families, but the story could have been better. It was a little simple and didn't really go anywhere. This would be fun to read with a child as you can investigate what each family is doing. There are so many details to see!
Thank you NetGalley and Kids Can Press for providing this ARC.
Review to come September 20th on blog/goodreads.

I just adore books like this! With so many little details and that you can see stories in the illustrations next to the story you are reading. You really get a glimpse in the lives of these characters. And there are lots of characters living in this apartment building! From bears to foxes to rabbits/bunnies, it is a diverse bunch here. I do pray that these characters homes are bigger than we see. That we just see a part of it, because oh boy, some animals just have one room. So I am just going to imagine that the building is split in half and that there is more to it.
In this book we see various things happening in the house. From a family of cats moving their stuff (and oh no, poor little kitty dropped his box) to the rabbits preparing for a party to a fox family who is about to get a new tiny one. As you flip the pages you see more and more happening in the home, but also look outside! Because there are things happening outside. Characters that seem to have escaped for fairy tales. From a slow turtle on a bike, to a wolf outside the window (and the three escaping piglets), to a girl who burgled in the house of the foxes (Goldilocks is that you?), and a couple of others. It definitely made the story more fun and engaging.
I loved seeing the lives of these animals, I am glad we could have a day in their lives.
The art was also really adorable and cute. And again, so many fun details! Even after you just read the story you can read it again as there is still plenty to explore.
I would highly recommend this book to all. I would definitely want to read it again in physical form as at times it just didn't work given this is an ebook and the pages are split up. I just want to open the book up, see both pages and totally disappear in this one.
This was such a cute book. The pictures were very elaborate, which gave the kids a lot to look at, and the story was adorable.
This is a delightful and intricate story. It has a lot going on in the illustrations which will allow children to look at all the fun details going on! It definitely is a fun book to look at. The story matches the illustrative work expertly. This book would be great for children who love to look at every last detail of the pictures in books.
I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received this book on Netgalley in return for an honest review!
It is a nice and simple book about Little Rabbit and their birthday-party. We follow the whole apartment building and the daily work the people living there do, and one can find clues in the pictures. Personally I think this is cute, but I found it was lacking a more interesting theme. I wish there were more happening, or just more really fun pictures for pupils to look for in the different floors. Overall a decent and simple picture book tho!

This is a lovely picture book that your children will want to read over and over again. The strength of this children's book is the illustrations of life on 3 Maple Street. The illustrations are lively, fun, and cute. There is something new to see on each page, and children will find new stories and characters with each read through. The story about Little Rabbit's birthday is cute and does include many of the residents of 3 Maple Street, but the real fun is finding other characters (some fairy tale favorites!) and watching their story progress too. My children loved making up their own subplots for this book.
Are you throwing a birthday party?🥳🥳 Don't forget to invite all your neighborhood friends. After all what's a party without variety!
It's Little Rabbit's birthday🐇. And guess who is excited? All his apartment members! Packing of presents, decorations and wishes are spread from the top floor to the ground floor.
While your child has a soft mind that molds according to the things that he witness and the environment in which he lives in, it is too important to add into his reading lists the books that will have a positive impact upon his/her brain. Your House , My House will not only make your child comfortable with accepting people who are different from him, it will also make him find happiness in co-existing and sharing.💕
Its a cool neighborhood here. You do not have to bother your head in remembering the food chain; just get your heart into the book to see foxes coming over at the rabbit's place, and the mouse (along with others) helping the cat in shifting her furniture!
The book does not only show numerous different animals living together, it shows that living together is fun and convenient. If a hogshead, a fox, a rabbit, a bear, an owl, a mouse and a cat can live together, we humans can surely adjust with each other.
The absolute beauty of this book is in the pictures. There is so much going on in and around the homes, that is and isn't a part of the written story. The story itself is about little rabbit's birthday, but it also includes helping your neighbors and being part of a community. While little rabbit is celebrated the day doesn't revolve around him, which is a great lesson.

New events are happening on every floor of this apartment house, from a birthday party, a new baby, a blanket fort, and a long nap. My students love watching the day unfold in each part of the house and spotting familiar characters pop in and out of the scene. Second and third grade students can follow the colorful stories throughout the book, while younger children can appreciate the pictures and new surprises while listening to the main story.
Although the plot line itself is not terribly enthralling, the detailed pictures and relatable scenes keep children fascinated and curious every time a page is turned.
