The Dangerous Son show cases the good and the evil in people. As not everyone is as evil as they seem, and vice versa.
The Coalition’s killer, Spenser, has had childhood trauma and suffered abuse that still haunts him, while on a job to deal with police detective Poppy, something stirs in Spenser that isn’t supposed to be there.
Twisted and bent and broken, Zoe Hill writes quite the intense world and splendidly devious plot line.

5*
Spenser's family are mixed up with the coalition and he had no choice in the matter. An injustice from his younger years has left him desperate to seek justice.
Poppy doesn't remember Spenser when he stages a meeting, but feels the connection instantly.
The two have more in common than they are aware of.
A truly fabulous story that draws you in that deep you cannot put it down.
I loved the characters and I'm desperate to read more from this author

This is a dark tale of two broken souls trying to live in an adult world after suffering devastating trauma as children. Both deal with the trauma in very isolating ways. The subject matter in this book is dark but the author handles it beautifully. My heart bled for this couple and their struggles. This book captivated me from the first page. I could not stop reading until the last page. I felt such an emotional response to Poppy and Spenser. I can’t believe this was a debut novel for this author. She did a fantastic job and delivered a great novel. I highly recommend this book.

I have to preface this review with the fact that I am blown away that this is a debut book. I had not connected the dots on this until I got to the author's note at the end. I would have never realized that until I went in search of more books from this author to only discover there are none.

From the first pages, I was all in trying to discover what was going on and then how the subsequent chapters all tied together. There were so many pieces to this puzzle going on. There are still some left that I want to be addressed (nothing that makes this book seem incomplete) but I think that the author left that purposely vague to pave way for more books from the author and these characters. PLEASE give Bella a story and PLEASE answer what the "driver" at the pivotal scene towards the end is doing now. Strong characters, strong storyline, nothing graphic or upsetting but there is talk of things that may be triggering to some. I was surprised by the twists at the end and how Spenser's family tied to all of this. I did want a couple of areas, like Poppy's job and the aftermath of that to be more fleshed out. Other than that, this book had me completely hooked in discovering how things would end with Poppy and Spenser.

All in all, I will definitely be looking for more from this author. I cannot wait to say, I have read her since she published her very first book. Bravo to this author and Kudos to

A dark but intriguing story!

This is a dark romance that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who's bad and who's good. There are lots of triggers in this book ... so beware. My heart breaks for the little Spenser and Poppy ... actually for the grown-up Spenser and Poppy too. There are so many characters in the book, that I found myself having to re-read parts to figure out who's who. It would have been nice to have a recap of the characters. I'll never remember them all by the next book.

Spenser and Poppy were both molested when they were children and are broken in the same way, but they are dealing with it very differently. Spenser is the hitman for the
Coalition and can't stand to have anyone touch him. Poppy only can orgasm when the sex is rough ... very rough. Spenser is sent to kill Poppy and her best friend ... and then he will be allowed to finally kill his abuser. But when Spenser and Poppy meet, there is electricity between them. Even more important is when Poppy touches Spenser, his reaction to her touch is nothing he has ever felt before ... and he wants to her to touch him again.

A great start for this debut author and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I received a copy courtesy of Victory Editing NetGalley Coop through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

This is a debut author and from the blurb alone, I knew this would be an epic first book, and definitely an author I'll be keeping a close eye on.

Straight away your mind is going a million times an hour trying to put all the pieces together, as the author purposely withholds certain details, most likely to drive the reader insane trying to figure it out.

With twists and turns you won't see coming, I'm in awe that this is this authors first book baby. The skill of keeping the reader engaged from one page to the next takes some authors years to achieve.

"I plan. God ignores. Lucifer laughs his ass off." This quote sums up the book and my life! Speaking of quotes, I loved the ones put at the beginning of every chapter, I could relate to most and complemented the book well.

Definitely a must read, and I cannot wait for more!

I am really sorry but after reading the content description I decided not to read this novel. So I cannot leave further feedback.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to download the book and then warn me if the graphic content before I began to read.

I do enjoy dark romances and The Dangerous Son certainly falls into that category. There are warnings at the beginning of the book that this book deals in some subjects that might be difficult for some people to read. Even so, I think it's worth mentioning that again. There are themes of child abuse, rape, as well as violence.
Spencer and Poppy are both broken, having suffered sexual abuse as children, their whole lives have been shaped by the experience and although they are now adults, neither of them has really come to terms with what they faced. Thrown into one another's paths, they find that perhaps the way to accepting who they are is through each other.
This is the first book in a group of books about a criminal outfit called the Coalition. I believe that the books can all be read as standalone novels. Having said that I think we got glimpses of at least two characters that will be in future stories. This is a dark series that has an overarching storyline.
I like books that push the boundaries of who is good and who is evil and this book does that. We are given reasons why many of the characters are the way that they are and why they behave as they do. Even at the end of this book, it's isn't completely clear if everyone is as they appear to be. This was an enjoyable read that I couldn't put down. I'm keen to read more from this series and find out the secrets that might ultimately bring the coalition down.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
