Another great holiday read by Debbie! Fun comedic book. Everly has mishap after mishap This would be a great Hallmark Christmas movie!
Just give me all the Debbie Macomber books, turn them into Hallmark movies, and I will be set. Jingle All the Way is a fun read that gave me all the Christmas feels.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Gotta love a Debbie Macomber at Christmastime. All the feel good vibes and Christmas cheer. That's what I love about books set at this time, such joy and happiness. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and it gave all the festive cheer I was looking for.
I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas books. They are as comforting as putting your kindergarten ornament on your mom's tree even though you are 45 years old. However, this one fell short for me. Maybe it was me. Maybe it was the book. But I was so annoyed at Everly/Daisy - she is a powerful real estate agent who navigates million dollar deals and is so Type A she is forced to go on vacation by her partner, but she doesn't double check her cruise details? She drinks multiple drinks after taking a sleeping pill? She needs repeatedly rescued by the hunky naturalist? Also, the similes got a little too much after a while - it seemed like every other sentence had one.
You know what you are going to get with a Debbie Macomber Christmas novel, and this is probably just as good as any other, but I just could not enjoy it as much as previous ones.
This was another great book by Debbie. It was a little different from her usual stories but very interesting story of a trip down the Amazon without the conveniences and Wifi, etc which made a woman look at life different;ly while finding love. Very enjoyable and worth the time to read.
Debbie Macomber has done it again with another true-to-life romance that brings the holidays truly home. I have always enjoyed Ms. Macomber's books because they are so fresh and make me relive the loves and failed loves of my own, and her settings feel like I have lived there before. I am now in my 70's and live alone again and was really feeling down and lonely for the holidays, but this wonderful treasure called "Jingle All the Way" brought Christmas and love back into my heart.
Oh dear. This one was just not for me. I found the cover of this story to be QUITE misleading as the bulk of the plot takes place on (wait for it) an Amazonian jungle cruise. There are some problematic plot lines involving a native tribe, which is when the story really lost me.

Synopsis:
Love can transform even the best-laid plans in this heartfelt Christmas novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.
Trapped in the middle of five siblings, Everly Lancaster always had big dreams. Now a top real-estate executive, Everly finds her work is her life, leaving no space for anything (or anyone) else. Sensing her stress, Everly's boss insists she take December off. At first, a month away seems crazy--how will the company survive without her? But Everly's mother convinces her otherwise. She deserves a vacation--plus, when she returns, she'll have no excuse to skip family Christmas like she did last year.
But after her vengeful assistant books a guided cruise in the Amazon instead of the luxury beach vacation she expected, Everly is horrified to realize that she's about to spend the next two weeks trapped--with no Wi-Fi!--in the rain forest. Not even Asher Adams, the ship's charming naturalist, can convince Everly that the trip will be unforgettable. Slowly but surely, she realizes he is right: the sights are spectacular. And with each passing day, Everly's relationship with Asher deepens, forcing her to take a long, hard look at her priorities.
Everly and Asher begin to see magic in the possibility of a life together. But as the cruise nears its end, and Everly's family Christmas approaches, both must decide if love is worth the risk. A merry surprise may be in store in Debbie Macomber's newest holiday delight. (Goodreads)
Review:
Anytime that I read a Debbie Macomber book, I know that I am in for a special treat and this book was no exception. I usually try to read at least one of her books during Christmas and this one was my choice for this season.
After trying to get her assistant fired because of incompetence, her business partner thinks that she needs a vacation. Everly is an all-work no-play typeof person, so she is not very happy with the situation, but she agrees to go. So the incompetant assistant books Everly on a cruise, but the cruise is to the Amazon. Evelyn is not happy at all and she demands to go back from the cruise, but to no avail. So she decides to make the most of the situation, and enjoy herself. And that becomes easier for her when she gets to know Asher, the cruise naturalist. The longer she is away, the more she realizes that she has to make some changes to her life. She is hoping that Asher can be part of her changes, but that will not be easy.
The characters are well developed and well rounded. Everly and Asher are great, and they get along pretty well. Other members of the cruise are also wonderful and they added a lot to the story. There were a lot of funny encounters and happenings and I laughed out loud a few times. There were some important lessons to be learned, which is normal in this author's writing.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted women’s contemporary. Set aside an afternoon and grab this book and enjoy.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Random House Publishing, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.
This was everything I expect from a Debbie Macomber novel. It was light and fun with a little romance. I really enjoyed this book. found this recipe for the famous Grandma Ruth’s fudge from the book in a Debbie Macomber and Brenda Novak Christmas book Facebook group. Enjoy! **Free copy in exchange for my opinion from NetGalley.**
Jingle All the Way by Debbie Macomber is a contemporary romance standalone novel. This romance is set in the Christmas holiday season and also includes a bit of virtual travel for those like myself that love exotic settings.
Everly Lancaster and her business partner have made a success out of the company they began after college but with that success has come long days. When Everly’s assistant who happens to be her partner’s niece makes one mistake too many Everly wants her fired but her partner thinks Everly should take a nice vacation and reconsider.
Everly really doesn’t want to leave the business with some important projects in the works but decides that the luxury cruise her assistant booked didn’t sound too bad. However, after rushing through a snowstorm and several flights later Everly finds herself aboard a ship heading down the Amazon which is far from luxurious and on top of it all she gets sick from an insect bite making a crew member have to nurse her back to health.
Having read a lot of Debbie Macomber’s books and always enjoying them I was not surprised to find myself immediately caught up in this latest Christmas tale. It was fun to head down the Amazon along with the main character with all the experiences that included. I would have liked a bit more romance to the relationship which the timing didn’t allow too much of but otherwise this was a nice read for the holiday.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
My first Debbie Macomber book and I can see why she’s the queen of holiday reading. Can’t wait to read more!
Hilarious, Not the typical Debbie Macomber Holiday season book. I laughed and couldn’t put the book down. Everything that can go wrong does until… Have to read.
Jingle All the Way is a sweet, wholesome romance. Everly Lancaster and Asher Adams seem like they are from opposite worlds when they meet aboard an adventure cruise through the Amazon. There are some funny slapstick type scenes, but this is mostly a story about two people that are so wrapped up in their jobs, that they haven’t had time for relationships, family, or themselves. Meeting each other, makes them each consider their work/life balance and what really is important for true happiness. This does have some parts set during the Christmas season, but I wouldn’t really call it a Christmas romance. Rounding up from 3 1/2 stars to a 4. Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for this review copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a feel good sweet Christmas story! Loved the characters of Daisy/Everly and Asher and was really rooting for them. Loved the concept of where Daisy/Everly went on her vacation and the circumstances around it. Getting more into "insta love" and adored the Epilogue.
I always enjoy a good Christmas book! Debbie Macomber never disappoints. A heartfelt story sure to get you in the Christmas Spirit.
Everly is a top real estate executive. When her boss tell her to take the month of December off, she balks. She doesn't know how the company will survive without her. When she finally says yes to the vacation, her vengeful assistant books her on an Amazon cruise with NO internet! she has no idea how she will survive the 2 weeks. Then she eventually loosens up and enjoys herself, and maybe, just maybe she might find love.
I always read Debbie Macomber when her books come out and review on Amazon and Goodreads but always forget to review on here! Loved this book!
Jingle all the way was a fun and a bit quirky read. I enjoyed the hijinks on the cruise and thought the love story was cute. This was a quick read, perfect for an afternoon. It was light on Christmas, so honestly it can be read anytime of year.
I have not read a book by Debbie Macomber that I have not loved. They all take you away and I feel like I am in the story with her characters. I am always recommending her books. Keep writing great stories...
I always read Debbie's books around Christmas, and she doesn't disappoint with this one. It was funny and sweet. I love the endearing message that she always includes in her story.
