I struggled a little to call this a Christmas book, I didn't feel that Christmas was talked enough and it took many pages into the book to get to Christmas,
This was what I come to expect when reading Debbie's Christmas books.
This one was a little different with the cruise down the Amazon but the humor was there with all that happened. to Daisy while on her trip and falling in love.
Like all good Debbie books, 2 people fall in love, something breaks them up and then they find their way to a happy ever after.
I did enjoy the ending being three years later so we got a glimpse of what happened to them.
Daisy's disgruntled assistant at work gets revenge on her when she books her vacation cruise. When she gets to her cruise boarding she finds that she is not on a luxury cruise but an Amazon River Exploration trip. But little does she know that it might be the best vacation of her life.
This is not the author's regular Christmas story style. Instead of the entire book centering on Christmas, Christmas is not mentioned until the last of the book. A family theme of love, togetherness and Christmas traditions is brought out in the final portions of the book.
The trip down the Amazon River was cool and the information that she gave about the area was very informative. It gave me some insight into an area of the country that I will probably never visit so it was great.
It was a cute story with some great comedy in parts and I liked the underlying theme of deciding what is really important in life.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Great romance story. Thinking she was going on a luxurious cruise, she actually went on a trip down the Amazon. This adventure changed her life and she fell in love. See what happens when they have to decide how to be together in her world or his world or neither.
This was a quick, entertaining read which was such a nice break from the heavy suspense stories I usually indulge in. When Daisy (aka Everly) tries to fire an employee, said employee gets her vengeance by planning a luxurious cruise for her boss. However, said luxurious cruise doesn't turn out anything like it was described. Daisy manages to make lemonade from lemons, however, and is successful in more ways than one.
While I don't usually care for romance novels, this one had enough spunk and adventure to keep me reading and enjoying.
Cute, but I couldn't get really invested in the main characters. I liked the setting of the Amazon and the fact that the cruise in it was payback from her assistant.

I love holiday stories as they brighten your mood and you're guaranteed a happy ending. This story did not disappoint.
Everly is overworked and stressed out at her job. Her partner convinces her to take some time off and she agrees as he sold her on a luxury cruise. However, his sneaky niece, books her on a trip thru the amazon with very few amenities. At first, she is furious, but becomes friendly with some of the passengers and an instructor on the cruise. Asher is in his element and loves the opportunity to share the experience of location with the passengers. He finds himself drawn to Everly as she is out her her element and needs some extra attention to adapt. She too, is attracted to him, but both see their circumstances as impossible to pursue long term. Everly wants to take a chance and admit her feelings to Asher, but he thinks he is doing her a favor by letter her go. She leaves and her heart is broken. Asher's heart is broken and he has to decide if he has enough courage to take a leap of faith and be with Everly.
This was a nice story that had you engaged with the information about the Amazon and the development of the feelings that Everly and Asher had for each other.
This is the final installment of the Paradise series, and I wish I could have given more stars, but I had to wonder why a third installment was needed. We managed to sew up Rosie and Russ's story in a chapter but the rest of the book felt redundant and uninteresting. I had hoped for more and the ending fell short.
This is such a cute story. I just loveAsher and Everly. I laughed out loud so many times. I felt as though I was on the Amazon cruise with them. It’s a quick and easy read thAt will put you in the holiday spirit. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Again Debbie Macomber has given us another holiday romance that keeps you reading to see the outcome. Throughly enjoyed this reading and looking forward to her next book.
Content warning: none to my knowledge
I wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't. The main character is referred to by two different names early in the book without explanation which I found really confusing. Everything felt very rushed and unrealistic. Everly/Daisy encounters a few scrapes along that way in her cruise that are borderline fantastical. I also felt that the romance aspect of the book was very rushed and I did not "feel" the connection between the characters.
Normally, I am a big fan of Macomber’s Christmas romances. I read them every year. But this one really rubbed me the wrong way.
If you enjoy in the hallmark Christmas movie tradition when a woman who is very successful leaves the big city and realizes that she should change her life and no longer do what she does so well, then you might love this romance. There is an interesting twist where the heroine ends up on an adventure cruise that she did not expect.
But I really disliked the way the hero treats her. The heroine goes by Everly, but he insists on calling her by her given name Daisy, even though she says she does not like it. It made it impossible for me to be happy for them to get together. Also, most of the book is not very Christmasy.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book from the publisher and Net Galley in return for a fair review.
There are two things I love a Christmas theme book and Debbie Macomber, I could not put this book down. Everly a.k.a. Daisy is all work and dealing with the bosses niece as her assistant is a nightmare. When her boss recommends a vacation because she seems stressed out she decides to take him up on the offer. Her assistant sets up her trip and we all know that will work out great (LOL). So instead of a luxury beach cruise she ends up on a guided cruise in the Amazon. No wifi and no way out for two weeks and to top it off she gets sick. Asher the naturalist finds himself taking care of her and enjoys spending time with her and getting to know her. As the cruise comes to an end they will have to decide if love is worth taking a risk and if it is worth looking to make it work.
I enjoyed reading this book and it was funny at times. If you are looking for a holiday read this does disappoint but her books never do.
I always look forward to a new book by Debbie Macomber, but especially her Christmas books. They always make you want to live in that town and celebrate Christmas! Jingle All The Way was another great Christmas story that I highly recommend!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. You can purchase your copy on October 13th here: https://www.amazon.com/Jingle-All-Way-Debbie-Macomber-ebook/dp/B0841NKFQB/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Jingle+all+the+way&qid=1599500900&s=digital-text&sr=1-3
This is my 109th book that I have read by Debbie Macomber. We begin this book with Everly about to lose her temper. She had prepared a speech and her assistant downloaded the wrong talk and graphics, so Everly had to wing the speech in front of five hundred real estate broker. Everly has been forced to fire her assistant, Annette due to this event. There is a little hiccup in this matter- Annette is family to Jack, Everly’s partner. Jack walked over to Annette’s desk and orders her to book Everly on a cruise, somewhere tropical where she can unwind. Oh. Would you really trust a woman to book your trip who couldn’t even get the right speech for your presentation??? OOOOH this was a fun book! Everly gets more than she bargained for on this cruise. Not only did she not have internet, but she may have found love as well. This was a very fun and quick read at 272 pages. Debbie Macomber did not disappoint at all! Everly discovers a lot about herself in this book and we learn more about various characters and their true personalities. Anymore would include a spoiler. Enjoy your read! Christmas will be soon upon us and you will be in the spirit before you know it!
When Everly finds herself aboard the Amazon Explorer she is furious. Her incompetent assistant told her she had booked her on a luxury cruise, not one on the Amazon River. Asher is the tour guide and takes her under his wing right away. Their relationship develops quickly yet there's no way they can make this work, right? I loved how Everly's independent and career driven personality evolved throughout this novel. By the end, she truly encompassed the Christmas spirit and realized what was really important in life. This book, although set around Christmas time, was only about 25% of actual Christmas content.
Debbie Macomber is a good storyteller, especially when she is juggling multiple characters and multiple plot lines. This story of Everly Lancaster and her semi-disastrous trip down the Amazon River Fell a little short of the mark for me. Everly is an over-worked part owner of a successful company. She has pored her being into the company to the exclusion of her family. Her partner insists she take a vacation and a disgruntled employee books her on an Amazon cruise instead of a luxury vacation. Predictably, Every and the only eligible man onboard fall in love. Can their vastly different lifestyles merge so they can have their happily ever after? Not without some trials along the way.
Debbie Macomber’s Jingle All the Way is a sweet read filled with serious, underlying messages about viewing the world around oneself, the importance of family and what is really important in life. That said, I did find a good bit of it implausible and didn’t think the title really connected with the story.
Everly Lancaster is literally sent down the river by a spoiled, revengeful employee who books her on an Amazon river boat cruise instead of a luxury cruise. Once on board, circumstances put her in close contact with Asher Adams, the passionate, environmentalist naturalist on board. Since this book is a romance, the inevitable occurs, but the story lies with the how, not if, the happily-ever-after comes about. I especially enjoyed the secondary characters—fellow passengers on the cruise and Everly’s family.
Fans of Debbie Macomber and Hallmark movies will love this book. It is clean, sweet and brimming with family values. Three stars.
I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions stated are solely my own.
I can always count on Debbie to lift my spirits. Nothing like sitting down with a ice coffee to read and next thing you know you finished it in under 2 hours. I loved the story of Asher and Everly what a way to fall in love on a cruise through the Amazon river and right before Christmas! YES PLEASE!! No need to read this one only at Christmas this one can be enjoyed anytime. LOVED IT!!
My thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Awww just saying Debbie Macomber’s name makes me smile.
Hmmm this awesome cover did mislead me. We are having a recording breaking/historic heat wave this Labor Day weekend and I thought this would be a nice winter/Christmas read. What’s this about a trip to Brazil down the Amazon River???
Everly Lancaster is a Chicago top real-estate executive and a workaholic! She has high standards and expects the same from coworkers. Everly is ready to fire her new assistant Annette who is the incompetent niece of her business partner. Everly’s business partner believes she is over reacting and needs a vacation. Since it is December it would be the perfect time to take a much needed month long break. He suggests a cruise and will have Annette get right on making all the arrangements for a luxury cruise.
Everly is on her way, however the plane arrives late and she has to rush to the dock in Brazil. She is taken to her room and immediately Everly notices that the accommodations are not so luxurious but told she was lucky to get this room as there was a last minute cancellation. She then is reminded to check the brochure regarding the expectation on the trip. It appears Annette has some devil in her and made arrangement not on a luxury cruise but an eco-cruise through the Amazon rain forest ~ No electronics of any kind. Everly tries to get the ship to turn back. Of course, that doesn’t happen and the real story begins!!!
Ms. Macomber never lets me down! I follow her on Facebook and Instagram. Love her inspirational messages.. Yep! her positive attitude it is contagious!
Want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group ~ Ballantine for this early release granted to me in exchange for an honest professional review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

It took me awhile to adjust to the premise that this was a Christmas novel as advertised. Once I did the benchmark expected in Debbie Macomber offerings was eventually met. The main characters have depth and a core of kindness. The path to a happy conclusion is filled with difficulty and uplifting resolutions. Finally getting to Indiana and all things Christmas was wonderful and put me in a happy mood for the lovely ending. Stay with this one and you will be rewarded in a way on Debbie Macomber can do.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Jingle All the Way starts off not really having to do anything with Christmas, but it does come at the end of the book. Once again, Debbie has written a book everyone will enjoy reading. A book about really finding yourself after years of just working and not taking the time out for yourself or family. I recommend this book for all of Debbie's fans!
