This book might be in a warm setting, but gives you a cozy Christmas feeling. This is a good holiday story and if you are a fan of her stories then you will enjoy this one too. If you want a "heartfelt Christmas" story then this is a good choice for you. This story features Everly Lancaster who is taking a December vacation from the job that has become her life. She will be visiting her family for the holidays after what she thinks will be a wonderful vacation. It might not be the vacation she is hoping though. It also might be turn out to be a a time when a new chapter in her life to begin. What will she decide to pursue this Holiday season? Will it change her life? Join her on her unexpected holiday to find out what she does to celebrate the holidays and experience an unforgettable vacation. It is well written and a steps out of a traditional holiday story if you are looking for that type of read this season.
This is a solid 4 1/2 stars.
Daisy seems so similar to so many high strung business women in books at the beginning, it was so nice to see the direction that the character went in. While this is definitely a Christmas romance, this is such a character discovery.
What we see in “Everly” in the beginning and Daisy in the end is such an amazing look into who she really is and wants to be, how she prioritizes life and family, and while there is an precipitating incident, it’s not something crazy like amnesia or a near death experience, it’s a vacation.
I may have give. It a full 5 if either the assistant had been fed to a piranha (kidding, maybe), or if Asher was a little different. He actually annoyed me at times. I just wanted someone to smack him.
Debbie Macomber writes some of the best Christmas books especially any involving angels yet Jingle All the Way fell a little bit flat for me. The story is a good one and you get a woman finding the true meaning of the holidays and family, and a nice ending- so in that way it is a classic Christmas story. However the first half of the book made me so confused and questioning what this book is actually about. It was interested for sure, but it just felt like two books mashed together.
Jingle All the Way is another great Macomber book! It's a sweet holiday story that had some adventure and humor. It was a quick read that had romance, a bit of family drama and decisions to be made, I loved the epilogue that showed a glimpse into the characters future.
I loved this book!! Cute story!! Gave me Christmas vibs!! I love this author's books!! I'm glad her boss gave her a month off!!
Couldn't resist one. Look at that pup on the cover! Plus a romance that starts on an Amazon cruise? Okay. No choice but to read this.
The story follows Everly/Daisy. She was always the odd man out amongst her large family. She now runs a huge company in Chicago where she has made work her life. She barely has time for friends, family, or even a moment to take a vacation. On the urging of her co-owner, she decides to give her terrible assistant one more chance and lets her book her a couple week vacation. Well....turns out she is about to face the wilds of the Amazon with no Wifi and a being lead by a charming naturalist Asher Adams.
This would make the cutest Hallmark movie ever. LOL
Poor Everly. I would be mad because her assistant sucks and her co-owner sucks and now she is stuck in Brazil on a "cruise" with no wifi and your showers are limited. Boo! I am with Everly...I am a modern woman...I need modern things thankssss especially for a 2 week trip!!!! A few days...okay, 2 weeks? Girl no. Give me a pool and a shower and TV.
BUT Asher is a hunk and it might be worth it ;) He is charming and oh-so sweet especially when Everly was sick. Bless his hunky heart.
I loved the adventure Everly was forced to take and I'm glad she had fun even though she is not meant for the wilds. She is klutzy and her luck sucks. I can relate to her for sure on all of that.
I am also glad that this was not 100% all about romance. Sure that was 90%, but we did get to see Everly find herself and reconnect with her big ol' lovable family. That was very sweet.
Ooooo and that ending/epilogue was good. Very sweet. I didn't really expect that at all.
My only issue....the puppy. There is no puppy in this D: !!!!! WAH? Teased me for sure with that.
Oh and another issue I had was how quickly these two fell for each other. Yes, yes, insta-love. It bothered me at first...but it wasn't an easy love for sure so it balanced out in the end. So I was able to look past this little issue I had.
Overall, this was a very sweet romance and a very sweet Xmas book that you can cuddle up with next to a fire. Yesss I am using the word "sweet" a lot in this review, but it is the perfect word for this novel. I'll give this 4 stars.
I think within this past year of 2020, many of us have had best-laid plans fall to the wayside. In Debbie Macomber's latest Christmas novel, workaholic Everly Lancaster is encouraged, or rather forced, to take December off. The luxurious cruise she thought was booked for her turns out to be anything but, leaving her wondering exactly what December holds. "Jingle All the Way" is the perfect book for the person who loves a comfort read with little to no surprises. And the end, definitely tied up with a bow.
Jingle All the Way by Debbie Macomber is my favorite Christmas story of 2020. I was invested early on in Everly Lancaster's adventures and read it late into the night because I did not want to go to sleep without finding out how things would turn out for Daisy (Everly's real name) and Asher. The only bad thing about this is that I was done with the story way too quickly! Now for the storyline... Everly is an overworked, stressed-out executive that takes a month off work (at the urging of her business partner) and ends up on a two-week Amazon 'cruise' booked by her under-qualified and vindictive assistant. Everly was under the impression that she would be on a luxury cruise, but ended up on an adventurer's cruise that was much rougher, think piranhas, angry natives, and extreme mosquitos. This book starts at the beginning of December, ends on Christmas Day, and features an epilogue of three years later. Aside from Daisy and Asher, I loved the sisters' relationship and the family dynamic of the Lancaster family. Overall a super sweet Christmas story that I would highly recommend.
I love reading Debbie Macomber books at Christmas time because they are light, joyful, and filled with good spirity. Jingle Bells was no different! The only reason for the 3 stars on this one is I feel like I didn't really get the character development of both Daisy/Everly and Asher. I missed some of the romance that Macomber has in her other books and found there was more random plot lines that were meant to be funny than it was romance driven. I'll keep reading Debbie Macomber at the holidays for as long as she keeps publishing holiday romance!
I enjoyed this quick, clean romance. Everly is on top of her game in her career and basically a workaholic. Her inept assistant books her on a revenge cruise on the Amazon that leads to her reevaluating her life after she meets someone who makes her question everything.
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book for my opinion.
Another wonderful holiday story by Macomber. A fun title to read to escape our trying times. Every/Daisy makes some hard choices while on vacation about her life, future, and love all while on an unusual cruise. Her escapades are very funny.
This book was very quick and easy. I recommend this as an easy and fun read that will definitely keep your attention. It has suspense and love. What can be better? Cute holiday story to get you in the spirit. It's about love and family redemption.
JINGLE ALL THE WAY was such a sweet and heartwarming Christmas tale!
My full review will be posted on FreshFiction.com. I will update with the link once it goes live.
Thank you to the publisher and author for providing me with a digital ARC of this title via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I love a fun holiday book and was excited to see several available on Netgalley, especially one by a well known author. This title was a fun holiday read. Totally predictable and at times cheesy, but sometimes that is just what you want. This is the Hallmark Christmas movies of books.
Was not my favorite. Just seemed a little silly and cheesy. A story that involves the main character taking a vacation she didn’t plan. Everything goes 😑 wrong but finds a true love v
Debbie Macomber is the queen of Christmas reads. In quintessential form once again, the reader is transported into a fun adventure spanning the holiday season. Asher and Everly quickly capture your heart as they meet on a trip down the Amazon. Crazy things happen as they fall in love. Grab a cup of coffee, curl up on the couch and escape into this cute holiday read. #JingleAllThe Way #Netgalley
Cute book! I really enjoyed the story line and overall family feel good tale! Just what I needed in this crazy time!
Everly is a co-owner of a big real estate company in Chicago. Her partner hires his niece to be her assistant and she is terrible. When Everly goes to fire her he begs her to give her another chance, and to take a much needed vacation. Her assistant states she booked her for a luxury cruise, but when she arrives she finds out it is a explorer cruise down the amazon river. From the time she arrives on the cruise nothing seems to go right, but the hot naturalist, Asher sure helps. Asher helps her through all of her disasters while on board, but when it comes time to leave she doesn't want to leave him.
nother wonderful addition to Ms. Macomber's Christmas love stories. Everly has always felt differently from her siblings, she was always career driven woman and didn't want to settle into marriage at a young age as her siblings did. Everly's business partner decides Everly needed a vacation and tells her take the whole month of December off. Everly assistant books her on a cruise to Brazil . When Everly gets to the boat she finds out her assistant signed not on a luxury boat but an Amazon forest explorer boat that does not have wifi or no phone access. Once Everly get over the shock of it all she becomes friendly with the boat Naturalist explorer Asher who nurses her back to health when she goes through many accidental mishap on the boat e.g. the falling off the boat is one for the books. I love the storyline of a modern day woman in power owning her own business and not afraid to go after what she wants. Review on goodreads and amazon.
Everly (Daisy) might be a workaholic. She has stayed home to work during Christmas and Thanksgiving. With this year’s Christmas season approaching, everything is about to change for her.
She has an awful assistant at work. Her partner only hired her because the girl is his niece. Everly tried to fire her one day and her partner convinces her to take the entire month of December off to relax and clear her head, he says she’s been working too hard. She has. But her assistant is definitely terrible. The last awful mess the assistant makes before Everly’s break? She books the travel arrangements.
Now, this was a great explanation for how Everly got booked into a vacation she would never have picked for herself. This vacation does not sound relaxing to me at all. She is booked on a cruise down the Amazon River. No cell service, no internet, no tv, no pool, even showering is limited to twice a week to conserve water. Does not sound fun to me!
Once onboard this “luxury” cruise, Everly immediately gets sick. This leads to her spending an awful lot of time with Asher, who works on the ship. He takes great care of her during her convalescence. When they’re able to spend time together away from her sick bed, they really enjoy each other’s company.
But the cruise is only two weeks. Everly lives in Chicago and Asher basically lives on the ship. They both have to decide how much of their lives they want to change to be together.
This was a very quick read. I read it in one day. It’s got a touch of Christmas but if you don’t read Christmas books off season, I’d say you shouldn’t hesitate to read this despite the time of year. It’s not super Christmassy.
I wasn’t totally wild about Asher as a love interest. It kind of irked me that he insisted on calling Everly Daisy. I know that was her name once but she said early on that she hated her name and chose to go by Everly. Call me crazy but this might have been a hint that Asher wasn’t super concerned about what she wanted. It just bugged me, I can’t help it. I know it was supposed to be cute, but people should call you by the name you give them, right?
Anyway, I’d say Everly was more flexible than Asher but they both had to work together to decide if this love affair could be the real thing.
I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley, thanks!
