An excellent drama that kept me on my toes throughout the entire journey. The characters were engaging and believable. Can’t recommend it enough!

The prologue in this book was absolutely chilling and after reading it I was intrigued as to where this book was going to go.

Claire is a tormented character and no wonder when no one believes her claims about her ex-husband Simon. However I found her chapters rather dull, each one seemed to feature the numerous clients she was teaching French too and I’m still wondering how these added to the plot. I felt a little bored reading these encounters.

I think the most interesting character was Sloane as she was involved in some big twists in the story and I found that a lot more interesting.

It started off so well with the chilling opening but I found it lost its way slightly. As I said I did enjoy the twists involving Sloane but the ending was abrupt and felt like everything was brushed under the carpet. I think I was expecting something exceptional to happen as the tagline read ‘an addictive thriller with a devastating emotional ending’, however I don’t think it lived up to that in the slightest.

This is a book I haven't been able to put down. I have been completely pulled in and unable to put this one down.

This book will grip you from the very beginning and kept me guessing. I haven't been able to work out where the author was going to take this one.

I have loved the strong female characters in this book. They have complimented each other and made this a great read.

The author is able to paint such a picture that you feel as though you are there. I've read this one so quickly, I feel as though I have just watched a documentary rather than reading.

The conflicting stories in this one are told perfectly. You constantly second guess and question who is telling the truth.

I have really enjoyed reading this one. It is definitely a five star read.

One Time Read.
Claire Fontaine learns that her ex-husband Simon is marrying again, to a woman with a teenage daughter, her blood runs cold. She is sure that years ago Simon molested her own daughter and was responsible for her mysterious death. She can't let him get away with it a second time. Vandalism, harassment; whatever it takes, Claire will expose him.
Simon doesn't know where Claire got this delusion from; her daughter's death was ruled a suicide, but she has always blamed herself - is she just lashing out? Wanting to protect his new fiancee, he hires Sloane Wilson, an ex-cop turned 'sin-eater', whose job it is to handle delicate cases without getting the police involved, to get Claire off his back.
The story was interesting in the beginning but in the middle it became slow and it's ending was abrupt. I wasn't expecting it to end in that way.
Characters were ok but Claire was pathetic as the main lead of the story.
Narration of the story was slow but simple.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus for giving me an advance copy of this psychological thriller.
