I pay homage to the woman that told the narratives of what it looked like to be black in America during the “war on drugs” era...the tragic stories of our culture. She was an activist and helped to pave the way for female authors to have a strong voice today.
This book is a classic. It was one of my favorite books as a teen and I’m excited to be revisiting this book as an adult.
