I haven't read a book by Lisa Renee Jones in a a long while. After reading this one, I have to wonder why.

The story of Aria and Kace caught me from the beginning. It is an intense, moving story that has intrigue and brilliance. The chemestry between Aria and Kace is wonderful. Aria is strong and has a mysterious past. Aria has a passion for music and the violin connected them on so many levels. Kace with his wild, mysteriousness has a way of making playing the violin be sexy and cool all at the same time.

From what I can remember with Lisa Renee Jones's stories they are always hot and the characters are irresistile, and the magnatism that draws them together is wonderful. But of course they each have secrests that they don't want anyone to know.

This is a wonderful story and the beginning of a trilogy. Looks like I am back to reading Lisa Renee Jones books.

Draws you in:
This was a captivating and thoroughly enjoyable read. I don't usually like duets/trilogies and think that they are a money making tool. However I am willing to make an exception in this case as this book is so enthralling and well thought out.
Aria is mysterious and reserved yet she can't deny the strong pull she feels towards Kace. He is a world famous violinist with secrets of his own and is as complicated as he is intriguing. You could feel the tension and chemistry between them and what they had felt raw and authentic.
I enjoyed the suspense and mystery as Aria searches for her missing brother plus the intrigue surrounding her heritage. Only thing is with the cliffhanger we were given, I am now desperate to find out what happens next! One thing that did bug me was the authors misuse of the word prodigal instead of prodigy but other than that, a fabulous start to a great series.

Lisa Renee Jones is truly a queen of romance suspense. I really enjoyed the story-line and the underlying premise of the Brilliance Trilogy. A Reckless Notes does end with a major cliffhanger ( as those who read this author should expect now), but that should not turn you off from the book. It is a total page-turner. I loved seeing characters of Mark, Chris, Sara and Crystal pop into this story (from Insideout Series).

I found the Stradivarius, a violin, to be a very interesting concept to build the story upon. Both Aria and Kace are intriguing, but we do not really get a very good glimpse into their characters in this book. We learned a bit about Kace towards the end of the book and his childhood, but I sense there will be some shockers coming up. I hope to learn more about them as the trilogy continues. Also I have a lot of questions around Alexander and Ed's dispute- what is going on?

A Reckless Note is another interesting book from Lisa Renee Jones. As always she gives us complex characters in a very involved story and spoon feeds us the details in a page-turning way. I'm not even sure I like Aria and Kace but I'm totally invested in their story. Jones's signature cliff hanger was expected and despised (in a good way). I'm dying to know where these two go. Where the entire story goes and what comes of all this. The additional characters are all suspect. Are they who they seems? What are their real motives? Aria's secret is so big that there is a lot of motive for people to present themselves as something other than what they really are.

I'm anxious to delve into A Wicked Song and find out the answers to all these questions and I'm sure many more that will arise.

I like the story and the character, but I don't really enjoy books with cliffhanger and this one has a cliffhanger, I wish I had been warned before reading the book.

The story was good, I really like Kace and Aria, I definitely think that I'll read the next 2 books.

A brilliant work!
I could never tell how it would end. I love how unpredictable the book is. The suspense and intrigue are unique. I cannot wait to sample the other books. A wonderful romance of lovers of music.

An enjoyable read, but not quite my usual style and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I as hoping, I’m not keen on cliffhanger endings as I’m impatient, but as much as this was enjoyable I’m not interested enough to find out what happens next.

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

I love several of Lisa Renee Jones books. I normally DO NOT like cliff hangers, but I am so happy I made the exception for this book. I was blown away by this book. I did not think she could come up with a new story line, after all the other books she has written. I was wrong!!! She makes her story comes to life as you read each chapter. I have no idea how she does it, but she can make you feel like you are in the middle of the story.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Be warned, this is the first in a trilogy and there is a cliffhanger... not a totally awful one, but certainly you will muse over it until you can get the next book lined up on your e-reader!

The leads are both really fascinating, have deep secrets, and an attraction to each other which causes Aria, our narrator, to take many more chances that she normally would. She is desperate to find her absent brother, Gio, and puts herself at risk in order to further her mission.

Kace is a famous bad boy violinist – and he collects Stradivarius violins when he gets the chance. He is very keen to spend time with Aria, but is there more than just chemistry?

Be ready to race through this very engaging story, and then find a way to while away the time until the next installment is released!

M/F Romance
Triggers: Cliffhanger

Aria has known heartache. Having lost both of her parents at a relatively young age, she and her brother, Gio, are all that are left of the famous Stradivarius family. She is a hard character to really dig in to. She is secretive, worried about her brother, and then suddenly, she's swept up in the whirlwind that is Kace August.

Kace August is a world-famous violinist and a bad boy too. He is just as mysterious as Aria, but he has more of an edge to him.

Kace and Aria have some steamy exchanges, but I found their relationship somewhat flat. I'm not sure if this was because they were both so mysterious in their end game or if it was just because we didn't really have a lot of development of their characters.

Overall, while this book does leave me wanting to see what happens, it was just a ho-hum story for me. Almost all of the mystery was wrapped into the last chapter and the rest was kind of just filler. While I can appreciate the buildup of the story, this felt very underdeveloped. I'm hoping for more in book two.

This book sucks you in on page one and never, never lets you go till the last page and then BAM... a major cliff hanger that no one other than “the queen of cliff hangers” could deliver !!
This book is the first installment in a trilogy.
It’s full of suspense, romance and the sexy scenes are just that majorly sexy.
All in all this is a fabulous book .... other than the cliff hanger. Can’t wait till the next installment.

I could not put this book down. It's filled this so much intrigue as Aria tries to find her missing brother, Gio. As Aria enters the world of high end auctions determined to protect her identify and find Gio, she meets Kace, a famous violinist those career is too close to families past. The mystery evolves and readers are left with a cliff hanger and wanting more!

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

One of the main complaints I usually have when reading romance books is feeling there is lack of actual plot besides the romance/sex scenes. And that was one of the things that I liked the most about A Reckless Note: there were a lot of cute/romance/sex scenes but there was also a lot of plot and character background. Lisa Renee Jones was able to build an interesting world with interesting characters besides the protagonists and I really appreciated that, as I felt it gave depth to the novel. I found the music and auction world very interesting and an original departure from the corporate world that is usually used as background to depict powerful men – which I really like, but diversity is great and I enjoyed reading about a powerful man who is also an artist. The fact that there was some world building and a story with a touch of mystery that did not revolve 100% around the protagonists’ relationship made me feel more engaged and curious to keep reading!

I also loved that the female main character was not a damsel in distress that needed to be saved by a price, but rather a strong independent woman who was fighting her battles and navigating life as best as she could. I must admit that I hated how jealous Aria is: I thought the scene at the club was too much and I also did not like the fact that she felt threatened each time Kace interacted with single women – this was the one aspect I would change in the trilogy if I could. Other than that I think the author did a good job of not portraying Aria as a naïve insecure girl who needs a man to tell her she is worthy (even though he did reassure her often) and REALLY appreciate that, as women’s representation is one of my main issues with a lot of the romances I read. Kace was also a cool and interesting character. Although he was a little bit pushy at times, I felt he was mostly respectful and the author did an amazing job at portraying what good communication, consent and trust look like. The protagonists talked through all their issues and THAT IS SEXY!

Finally, we must talk about and the romantic scenes. Lisa Renee Jones is great at writing hot and interesting sex scenes. The flirting was sexy, the actual scenes were sexy and in the right amount (enough to make us feel like we are reading a romance and to yearn for those scenes but not too numerous that we feel that the book is all about sex) and consent and communication were perfectly written into the scenes. It is a relief to finally read a book where abuse is not confused with love.

This was my first book by the author, and I will definitely check out some of her other titles when I’m in the mood for romance!

I'll admit rockstar/musician romance stories are not my thing so I was intially kind of caution to start this one. Aria is a woman of mystery but with a fierce love for her brother she is pushed to enter a world that could possibly put her in a lot of danger. In comes Kace August, Violinist with an edge, and the immediate draw between the two is undeniable. The two are constantly running into each other and that chemistry between them only grows. I felt like their romance was gradually growing and then after their first kiss everything went 0 to 60. I started to feel a disconnect with them and about half way through the story I was really hoping to feel more of a connection with Aria. She falls quite flat and with hardly any personality. There are a couple of incidents (I use that term very loosely) involving Kace and other women and Aria's response was pretty disappointing. I needed a badass moment or two from her and I never got that. I'm really hoping we get more character development with her in the next two books and see her grow into her own especially with that ending.
The cliffhanger was one I could see coming from the start and left the end of book one with more of a sizzle than a bang. The mystery surrounding Aria and the hope for more growth with her will definitely have me picking up the second book, A Wicked Song.

Wow what a fabulous 5 star read that I couldn’t put down from the moment I started and inhaled the entire book on less than 24 hours.

Lisa Renee Jones has always been an automatic one click author. Her stories are the perfect mix an engaging story with just the right amount hotness. And this story is no different.

I loved both Aria and Kace’s character and lived their chemistry and dynamic the author created for them. I loved Aria’s strength and the mysteriousness to her past and I loved the instant chemistry shared between her and Kace. I also loved that their passion for music and the violin connected them on so many more levels.

Kace, how can you not fall instantly in love with a tattooed violin rock star that truly has an amazing soft side with all that sexiness. I’d love to lick his tattooed musics notes.

This story is such a fabulous one, from the moment it started, it sucked me in 100% and it played like Kace played the violin, with so much passion that you lose yourself in it. And although I am left dying for the next book with how this one ended, I love that this story is being told over three books and there is so much left to be told.

wow, I was pleasantly surprised to go into this book. It has been a while since I have read a book by Lisa, and I have enjoyed them but this one intrigued and kept me interested and I like that. We have secrets, but why. Aria is hiding who she really is, because she has to to save herself. Both are lying to each other and keeping things from one another but that does not diminish in the lease the heat that comes off of them..Can't wait to the next one.

Another exceptional series with Book 1, A Reckless Note from author Lisa Renee Jones.

This series revisits with favourite characters from previous books which I am absolutely loving. This is another book of intrigue. Aria Alard has lost much in her life, her Father when she was young, her Mother when she was in her late teens and now her brother Gio is missing. Secrets abound in her family and Aria has kept herself close as these secrets could be life or death for her.

Kace August is a brilliant violinist and upon meeting him, Aria finds herself out of her comfort zone as a relationship begins to develop. Feelings Aria has never experienced before start to emerge but just when she feels she may be able to reveal some of her secrets to Kace, Aria finds evidence that Kace is not who he makes out he is and she flees his home and his life, once again fearing for the life of her and her brother.

Once again you are embroiled in a story that includes every emotion imaginable, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the last word.

Thanks to Netgalley and Lisa Renee Jones for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book. I eagerly look forward to the next book in the series.

Lisa never disappoints me with her stories. The only issue I have is that sleep is required to keep reading! The details and twists that she puts into every story have me reading and rereading until I can visualize the scene. She does the same with her characters and interweaves them from other stories at times. The end result is a supremely written story with just enough steam, intrigue, and angst (yep) that you don’t mind so much . . . that this isn’t the conclusion of the tale. Kane and Aria make another great couple to add to the list!
