A fun bright book for kids to learn about responsibility. I think this is really fun and sweet. I liked the phonetic spelling of the way kids say words, and how Ollie pronounces them.

The book is cute enough. It's got fun pictures. The text flows well. A new take on a tooth fairy visit.

Ohh I really enjoyed this book. I read it with my children who are 4 and 6 years old. They both enjoyed it too, which is saying something as usually one likes something that the other doesn't. Easy to read, beautifully illustrated. Would recommend.

I enjoyed reading this book!! It is rare to find books for kids with moral of the story nowadays, and this book provides one.

It is the story of a boy named Ollie who got a chameleon in exchange of his baby tooth. He loved the animal so dearly, but like a normal kid, one day he forgot to secure the pet and it escaped.

So many things we can learn from Ollie and Haffiness, for example : is it wise to trust such a pet to a kid? What should a kid learn from Ollie's experience?

Prose (Story): Book two in the Carefree Ollie early reader children's series finds our hero losing his front teeth, which he promptly leaves in an envelope for the Tooth Fairy in the hopes of getting his wish of having a pet lizard. Sure enough, upon waking up he finds a cage on his nightstand housing a bright green chameleon, whom Ollie instantly calls "Haffiness" (thanks to his missing teeth). But when Ollie proves easily distracted from his pet owner duties and Haffiness turns up missing from his tank, the worried boy goes on the hunt, determined to get his new friend back.

Don's (Review): Being a fan of the first book in the series, Ollie's Backpack, I have to say I loved this one even more. Again bursting with colorful, full-of-life illustrations kids will love and ogle - courtesy of Virvalle Carvallo - having been a pet owner since childhood, I also really appreciate how author Riya Aarini here spins an entertaining story around a message that will hit home to kids about really caring for (and taking responsibility for) the pets they love. Don't worry, things end on a positive note here, but just don't be surprised if, after reading this engaging book to your kids, they start asking you for a lizard of their own. (Available September 12) 4/5 stars

This is a lovely story about Ollie who looses his second front tooth and awakes to have been given a pet chameleon which he had always wanted. But Ollie forgets about his Chameleon one morning and it escapes. Ollie looks everywhere but he couldn't find him. Ollie learns about caring for pets, responsibilities and that Chameleons can change colour to blend into their environment.

If you look carefully on a few pages when Ollie is looking for Haffiness you will see him camouflaged in within the picture.

A lovely book for children which teaches them about emotions and responsibilities.

An adorable book with great words that get mispronounced when kids lose their front teeth, like happiness (haffiness) and places (flaces).

Ollie gets a chameleon for losing his second front tooth. He promises to take good care of the pet that he names Haffiness (that would be happiness out of a child’s mouth missing front teeth.)

One morning, Ollie is excited to get to show and tell at school and forgets to care for Haffiness before he leaves. Then next morning Haffiness is nowhere to be found. Ollie and his friends look everywhere but can’t find him. Ollie is sad until he finds him in the place he never expected his pet to be.

I love this book! The writing is great. Words are often pronounced as Ollie would say them when missing his front teeth. Plus, it uses words that are just neat, like hullaballoo. The storyline is a great lesson about caring for your things. The way the author shows Ollie’s emotions while Haffiness is missing is genuine. For instance, Ollie was happy to win a trophy but is soon sad again when he remembers Haffiness is still gone.

The illustrations are wonderful. They are fun, expressive, brightly colorful and clearly show a union with the words. I laughed out loud. I already requested that the local library purchase this book.

Haffiness is Ollie's pet lizard. Ollie is devastating when haffiness goes missing. Ollie learns a valuable lesson in taking care of Haffiness. The story and illustrations were cute, and i would read it to any kid.
