It ended up being an amalgamation of advice from Jen Atkin’s foray into her accumulation of self-help literature.

I wanted this to be more about her come-up in the hair world, not so much cliche career advice. This book elicited the sort of dopamine drip one would experience scrolling Instagram or watching Youtube tutorials. I guess I was in it for the brain break after reading something difficult, though I wish it was more about her and less about her thoughts on emotional intelligence.

I didn't know who Jen Atkin was before I read this book, but I admire her ability to not only create a company from the ground up, but to be able to share her story and her advice in a way that makes me want to listen, rather than sounding preachy. It wasn't anything ground breaking but it was a pretty fast and interesting read.
