Oh my gosh. I love kittens. Everything they do is simply adorable. Snowball is no exception. Well, except for the fact that she keeps sneaking out of Miss Tilly’s Inn, the Weber Haus and just getting into mischief. Snowball is sure that two humans, Lukas and Emily are perfect for each other, although they seem to dislike each other. However, Snowball will not be deterred in bringing these two together and making sure her forever home stays just that.
Kristen McKanagh’s Snowball’s Christmas was a charming read, perfect for Christmas.
Alright, I don’t know who came up with the cover for this one but of course they suckered me right into picking it up… I mean, come on, who can say no to the little face, it’s adorable!! Thankfully for me this holiday contemporary romance was just as sweet on the inside as it was on the outside.
Snowball’s Christmas is a book that changes the point of view between the characters during the story but the special thing with this one is that Snowball, the sweet kitty, also gets a POV. Snowball belongs to Miss Tilly who runs a B&B where she employs Emily. Emily cooks at that B&B and isn’t looking forward to her bosses nephew, Lukas, coming for the holidays. However, Snowball thinks Lukas and Emily are perfect for one another and wants them to figure that out.
Being a huge animal lover every once in a while I just have to pick up a book with an animal point of view and hope for some cuteness galore. Snowball’s Christmas was just such a read and I of course fell immediately in love with little Snowball. It really didn’t hurt that the couple in question were also likable too. Toss in a Christmas setting and of course I became a fan of this sweet romance.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
A cute, Christmasy story told from a cat perspective. This book was enjoyable and would make a great Christmas movie. I love the cover of this book!
This is a nice Christmas story. I really liked Snowball; she was very funny and kept the plot moving. Lukas is a nice guy who is trying to make the best choices. Emily is frazzled through much of the book, but she is a very hard worker. I also liked Aunt Tilly quite a lot.
If you like enemies-to-lovers stories with a lot of bickering, then this story is for you. I wanted Emily and Lukas to clear up their false misassumptions earlier than they did. But some of the bickering is funny. They did have several fun conversations, but I wanted more.
I was glad that this is a clean book. It was an enjoyable read for the coming holiday.
This is a Christmas story and despite quarantines/lockdown galore I know what time of the year it is. Although the title states its purpose, the book does not lean as heavily into Christmas for the storyline as some other books of the season do. It is neither a positive nor a negative trait, I am just mentioning it as fact.
The biggest and brightest focus has to be the kitten on the cover. My sister recently got a cat, and I know how conversation can revolve around the feline's antics even if you have never actually physically been in the same room with them. My only complaint has to be that there should have been more of Snowball in the story!
We have a B&B which provides more than just breakfast run by an ageing aunt (of our lead male protagonist), and our female lead works in said B&B with dreams of her own and stars in her eyes and fears in her heart. The rest is simple, straightforward, standard fare which is written simply and entertainingly. The book is a quick read, packs a little emotion at the right time. Personally, I felt the pacing off in some places, but I do not think that would bother most people. I read it in a couple of sittings and would visit any other book with Snowball narrating her actions.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.
Snowball is a tiny, fluffy white kitten with blue eyes, who lives at Weber Haus, the Victorian B&B run by Miss Tilly. Emily Diemer also lives at Weber Haus, where she cooks for the inn guests and dotes on Snowball. However, Emily is not happy when she learns Miss Tilly’s nephew, Lukas, is arriving. Emily finds it terrible that Lukas has left his aunt, who raised him after his parents were killed when he was ten, alone to run the inn herself (she is well past retirement age) with what little money she has, while he travels the world as a well-known photographer. Initially, Emily finds Lukas totally different from what she had envisioned: an easy-going, friendly, helpful man, always ready to give whatever assistance he can to whoever happens to need it. Snowball also finds Lukas a good person, and concludes that Emily and Lukas need to accept what their fates have in store for them—while he tries, in his own inexperienced way, to make that happen. As Lukas, who is there only for the holidays, spends more time with Emily at the Weber Haus, Emily finds herself liking him more and more, as they grow closer and closer. In fact, knowing they belong to two different worlds, both Lukas and Emily try to fight the mutual attraction that is growing day by day. Sometimes we do not control what happens, as this duo soon finds out.
I loved this book and practically read it in one sitting. Snowball was the most enchanting kitten ever. In the book, sometimes the author took time to put words and thoughts into Snowball’s kitten persona, which only made the kitten more endearing. Snowball’s antics throughout were delightful and provided an interesting interlude. I likewise enjoyed watching Lukas and Emily grow into their relationship, never knowing how they each felt at any one time, and knowing this would be difficult in every respect. The book was absolutely enthralling. It is a wonderful holiday romance story that I will return to read time and time again, for the pleasure it gave/will give me. This is a book every reader will probably enjoy, if not love, once they read it. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
A Sweet Christmas read that some readers would enjoy. The Story was adorable especially snowball the cat. However at least for me reading from the cat's or the kitten's point of view was hard. But I still enjoyed it. I feel like this book would make an awesome Hallmark Christmas movie.
Princess Fuzzypants here: Not being a big fan of romance books, I do like to read ones with kitties as the hero or heroines. They do not need to be Pulitzer Prize material or something terribly profound. I like gentle and sweet stories that makes the reader smile with content at the end. This book is an excellent example of what I enjoy.
Lukas, a world renowned photographer, returns to his aunt’s B & B where he was raised after the death of his parents. He has tried to help his aunt but she is a stubborn and independent lady who is ably assisted by Emily, an amazing baker who has dreams of opening her own bakery. Lukas is shocked with how frail his aunt seems and how run down the house has become. He steps right in to assist the two women and tries to think of ways to improve their lot. Snowball, the kitten, can see what is happening long before either human twigs and encourages the shift from testiness to love with all her kitten wiles.
But as we all know, humans can be dense. Really dense. So we must go through the obligatory dance of misunderstanding and miscommunication that must hobble the path of true love. In Lukas, Emily finds the confidence and belief in her abilities that her own family deny her. In Emily, Lukas finds the reason to stop running all over the world and settle down. And both of them embrace both Aunt Tilly and of course, Snowball. In this world of chaos and uncertainty, there is a satisfaction to knowing something is going to turn out well, even if it is only fiction.
If you are looking for a light and enchanting Christmas read, this book will do nicely. Five purrs and two paws up.
A perfect fluff filled Christmas escape. Great for fur baby lovers and Christmas lovers alike. Adorable x
Read in November 2020
I have never read a book where one of the points of view comes from a furry kitten and I loved it! This book is fast, easy, and adorable! Perfect for the holiday season.
Snowball’s Christmas has to be THE cutest Christmas story I’ve read so far in 2020 – and I read a lot of Christmas Romance year-round. And I’m very happy to discover that Snowball will be back next holiday season in 2021 with another tale to be told.
And Snowball does jump in often with her own narrative on the happenings with her stubborn humans that she intends to be her forever home-mates… just keep an eye out for a kitten’s voice every now and then as you dive into this short but fun-packed Christmas Romance.
Emily has some strong preconceived ideas about “Aunt” Tilly’s nephew, Lukas before actually meeting him face to face. Well, after all, he is running around the country taking photos leaving his aging aunt here to run and tend to her B & B alone… well, not really alone but on her own, there are plenty of people who love and adore Tilly to pick up any slack including Emily who cooks for the guests of the B & B while dreaming of opening her own bakery one day.
Lukas enjoys his career, he sees life through the lens of his camera, and most of the time it’s a pretty amazing world. But he does love and worries about his Aunt Tilly, alone at the only real home he’s ever known. She’s getting up in years now, and Lukas is convinced that it’s time to sell and move Tilly into a retirement community… without asking Tilly.
What follows is a quick romantic story that is filled with misconceptions, an adorable kitten, and two people who could be perfect for each other if they would only open their eyes and take the risk that falling in love requires.
I had such a good time with Snowball’s Christmas – and I won’t give a bit more of it away, but if you love a feel-good, funny, emotional Christmas Romance then this is one you will not want to miss.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Great read by a new author for me. The plot is well written and enticing to the reader. The author writes in a way that makes the reader feel like part of The story.
Emily is a baker at Weber Haus a bed and breakfast run by Tilly aka Aunt Tilly to everyone.
Raising her nephew Lukas hasn't been easy for her but she did it and she's thrilled he's coming for a visit after he spent a period away as a traveling photographer.
Emily has a bad opinion of him because he hasn't been to see his aunt in some time despite her having never met him.
Enter sweetheart of a kitten Snowball who's convinced the two humans would be the perfect couple and devises ways to get them together at every opportunity.
Fun antics that kitten owners could see their kitten doing.
Adorable and sweet Christmas romance.

A heartwarming and cute story that made me smile. I fell in love with the cover and then I fell in love with the story.
It's engrossing and enjoyable, the character development is excellent and the plot is tightly knitted.
A perfect read for a cozy afternoon, it's highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

First of all, this was cozy!!! The story felt like a nice warm hug to me. Not to mention that it had a POV for Snowball--the cat!!!! The story revolves around Lukas, a professional photographer who's going back home to Weber Haus, a cozy and vintage Victorian inn owned by his aunt Tilly. As he gets there, he encounters Emily, who cooks and bakes for the guests of the inn, and Snowball.
As they get to know each other more during the holidays, Lukas has to face something from the past and the things he didn't know about his aunt and the inn, while Emily has to deal with her plans. Snowball tries her best to help her humans while saving her family and home.
All in all, I liked it so much! The idea of staying in a cozy and vintage inn while traveling during the holidays is just so hard to resist!!!! As a photographer, I loved how the story included Lukas taking candid shots of mundane and simple moments during his stay—becoming some of his best works.

Recommending to everyone who wanna experience the holiday spirit this month!

Snowball’s Christmas is a cute, short, delightful Christmas themed romance.
The story begins with Miss Tilly telling Snowball (the white fluffy kitten living at Weber Haus – a Victorian B&B) that Lukas (her great nephew) is coming homing for the holidays. Then immediately the narrative switches to Snowball telling the story. If the reader is not paying attention, it can become confusing for a moment until the reader realizes which point of view (POV) i.e. human or kitten, the story is being told from (but only for a moment ☺). The switching between POV happens frequently enough throughout the story – so be on the lookout for this.
Emily cooks (among many other tasks) for the B&B with aspirations of opening her own bakery in the near future. Immediately she has preconceived notions about Lukas – after all – he leaves his great aunt all alone, traveling the world taking photographs and does not even help Miss Tilly! So when they meet, their relationship is off to a rocky start.
Lukas is home for the holidays, to help Miss Tilly with the B&B, and hopefully to convince her to sell and move into a residence more geared towards her advancing age. He first meets Emily when he drives up to the B&B and follows behind her – sees Snowball hidden in Emily’s bag and immediately begins taking some candid shots of the kitten.
As with any love story – it is filled with mishaps and a bumpy ride to the HEA (happily ever after). And this story is no exception – especially with the antics of Snowball and her fluff ball attempts at match making. Throw in a local man who hopes to win Emily’s heart, Miss Tilly’s nephews attempts at showing the inn with the idea of selling (the only home he remembers) and Emily’s hopes and dreams of a bakery and what does the reader have – a holiday themed romance which keeps the reader wondering if Emily and Lukas are ever going to figure out and act on their mutual attraction – even with Snowball’s crazy antics.
Love the cover – very cute!!! I found the main characters had enough depth (even for a shorter story) and the storyline had enough twists and turns (and a bit of intrigue) to keep my interest throughout. And humorous events abounded when Snowball got it into her mind on a course of action, which usually ensued with unexpected consequences.
If you are looking for a quick read, with a holiday theme, an adorable, mischief making kitten and a bit of romance – then pull up a comfy chair with a cup of tea and settle down for an enjoyable read.
*OBS would like to thank the publisher for supplying a free copy of this title in exchange for an honest review*
What a delightful holiday tale! Staged in a historic B&B, it mixes family drama, romance and humor. Miss Tilly is Lukas' elderly aunt, who owns the B&B. He's been away for several years, working as a photographer. Emily lives at the B&B and helps out with the cooking and other tasks., and resents Lukas' absence. When they meet, sparks fly in more ways than one! All orchestrated by a cute white kitten named Snowball. Loved this book!
SNOWBALL'S CHRISTMAS is more than just a mushy sentimental holiday read that you will love - it is a really good look at life, misconceptions and how sometimes best intentions will bite you.
If you want a sweet romance, with a lot of soul searching, a home that is just that -- home and a little mischievous kitten who adds laughter and more smarts than the humans then SNOWBALL'S CHRISTMAS has got to be in your stocking!

Snowball's Christmas is a cute, cozy romance novel for the holidays. Told from a couple perspectives , the story introduces a charming cast of characters including a would-be bakery owner named Emily, Lukas a successful photographer, Miss Tilly the B&B owner and of course, Snowball. Snowball is a kitten who offers opinions, tries to understand humans and sees things with his heart that humans often miss. He, along with Miss Tilly, were my favorite characters.
The story, like many holiday novels, is shorter and an easy read. The main characters are decently developed and the B&B and town seem so charming I would want to visit for the holidays. Lukas is concerned his aunt will need to sell her beloved Inn as there are many repairs and updates needed; Emily's dream is to open a bakery but her family is less than supportive. Similar to Hallmark Christmas movies the story was pretty predictable in that it's obvious we are supposed to cheer for Emily and Lukas to get together and during their interactions yes, it seems they both felt the same way about each other, but it also felt rushed or maybe a little bit forced-although they do have a mischief-causing kitten pushing them together! If you're looking for a cute, cozy Christmas story you will enjoy Kristen McKanagh's latest release.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
The level of adorableness was Off. The. Charts!
A tiny feline serves as wing-kitten between Emily (a chef at a B&B) and Lukas (the jetsetting nephew of the inn's owner). I mean, come on! Can this be any cuter?!?
An absolute must for romance readers.
