Love this series. Its Halloween time Gia owns the all day breakfast Cafe. When a murder happens. Gia and savannah investigate but the police are not to happy with them doing it. Hopefully the killer is caught before they strike again.
Ms. Gregory returns us to Boggy Creek in time for The Haunted town Festival. Gia and Savannah are excited that Gia's been invited to host a 'house' and are full of plans … until the co-ordinator doesn't meet them as planned, because she can't....meet ...anyone...ever again.
Worried about the possibility the festival could be cancelled, as it's the animal shelter's main source of income, the girls snoop, against the advice of their law enforcement boyfriends. Their inability to stay out of it endangers them and they escape...barely.
The tale has plenty of color and humor, and leads down various paths, some helpful, some not.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse and offer my opinion freely.
When Gia and Savannah head over to check out their spot at the haunted festival, the last thing they expected to find is a murder. This is the 4th in the series, but the first I've read. I didn't have any problem keeping up though, so that is not an issue. A good and quick paced cozy mystery. And of course Thor is there too. Cute pup. Would recommend.
This is the 4th installment in the All Day Breakfast Café series. Gia Morelli is getting ready for autumn by serving up pumpkin spice waffles and missing the change of scenery in autumn that she had in New York. She agrees to help with the Haunted Town autumn festival that is on deserted farmland. The area is really creepy at night and when Gia and her best friend Savannah find the body of the event organizer they are pulled into solving another mystery. Of course more is learned about her and she has lots of suspects. I do like the friendship of Savannah and Gia and I do think Gia takes some serious risks to get to the truth. This is a fast paced mystery and I have not read all in the series but was able to enjoy this book just fine. Look forward to future books in this series.
This had the capacity to be great, it was ok. In the middle of the book, the main character freaked out and started to do all sort of dangerous things, even with other characters pointing out what she was doing, and there was a lot of pages dedicated to how she was freaking out, and how she didn´t care about the danger. From this point forward my suspension of disbelieve was broken and the story became weird because it didn´t seem to match her character, and boring because we were obviously going to find the killer so she could stop to freak out. I didn´t read the other books on this series, so maybe something like this always happens at the end of every book.
I enjoyed this book. It's a fast read without any slow spots. I liked the characters, they're very relatable. The story and mystery is interesting and the ending was excellent. #AWaffleLotOfMurder #NetGalley
I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review.
While the fourth book in this series, it is easily read as a stand-alone. Gia Morelli is a New Yorker, transplanted to Boggy Creek, Florida. She’s opened the All-Day Breakfast Café and is slowly integrating into the town. In this book, Gia’s invited to do a ‘house and table’ at the annual Halloween haunted town and festival. As the year’s biggest fundraiser for the animal shelter, it’s a long-time tradition. Her best friend, Savannah, convinces her to do it and they arrange to meet one of the two organizers at the abandoned townsite. When they arrive, instead of a live person, they find a pretty spooky setting and are presnt when the local security guard discovers a body in a shallow grave. Gia’s boyfriend, the town sheriff, and Savannah’s fiancée, the town detective, arrive and the investigative process begins. Intent on her business and fielding anxious questions about whether the festival will be held or not, Gia’s determined not to get involved, much. When a dear friend is injured at the same site, Gia’s best intentions fly out the window and she fully commits to finding out who hurt him and why. Savannah stays at her side as Gia navigates snakes, Florida forests and murderers.
This is a fun book with great recipes at the end. Gia and Savannah make a strong crimefighting duo, with the aid of two retired men who help at the café. Add in Gia’s rescue dog, Thor, and it’s a might combination. Fun, interesting cozy!
I love visiting with the gang at the All-Day Breakfast Cafe! The plot in this series is always so well written with twists and turns that keep you on your toes and not wanting to pur the book down. The setting of Fall is the perfect backdrop for a murder mystery. The underlying plot of friendship and what one will do to save an3otjer is a wonderful addition to this book.
I am already anticipating the next book in the series.
A Waffle Lot of Murder was a really fun fall-themed cozy mystery. The story follows Gia and her friends trying to solve the murder of a local woman who was involved with their haunted house project. I found the good characters fun and the evil ones to be just the right amount of evil. The storyline was well thought out and kept you guessing until the end. I loved the fall theme and recipes. It is a perfect and fun cozy read.
Cute Halloween-themed cozy! This is not the first book in this series but it works perfectly well as a stand-alone. Gia has left New York for Florida, so fall isn't quite the same. Halloween is still Halloween no matter what, which leads Gia and her friend to find a dead body during the Halloween festival. Being a cozy, of course Gia has to figure out whodunnit. Good fun and fall-themed recipes too.
My kind of restaurant All Day Breakfast.
This year restaurant owner His gets invited to be involved in the Haunted Halloween Town Festival. An annual fundraiser for animal shelter.
While checking out their house to decorate a body is found.
Gia and her best friend Savannah stick their noses into it.
Murder, and blackmail lots of suspects.
Good read.
Gia Morelli has been invited to participate in the annual Halloween event and her BFF Savannah signs her up! When they go out to visit the location the organizer doesn’t show for the meeting but they find her phone. A short while later her body is found in a shallow grave and the whole event is up in the air.
While the event is in question, preparations must continue and Gia finds that she’s not alone as her friends join in the fun with her. Even sleuthing she’s not alone as Savannah won’t let her even think of investigating alone. Now the gals have to hope they find the murderer before they dig their own graves.
This is the first book in the series I have read and it was fine as a stand-alone. It was a good read and solid whodunit that will have me ordering up the first three books in the series as well.
This is the first time I have read this author and I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. the Amateur sleuth Gia can really get herself into some dangerous situations. She and her friend Samantha. do this together. This story kept you want to keep reading to find out who done it. A GOOD READ.
It’s hard to tell when fall arrives in Florida and Gia misses the hallmarks of the season since she left New York. Still, she tries to bring a little bit of autumn to her Florida diner by making pumpkin spice waffles. She keeps going with the theme by participating in the Haunted Town Festival, a halloween celebration that gets really scary when Gia finds a body. There’s no shortage of suspects as the deceased had plenty of enemies. Can the intrepid Gia unmask the killer?
