I love the Dark Protectors series and this installment is no exception. There's all the things great about Rebecca Zanetti's books. It was a pager turner right from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down. Adare and Grace are just as exciting as all of the of mates.

GUARDIAN’S GRACE (Dark Protectors Book 12)
This 12th book in the Dark Protector’s series is the story of Highlander soldier Adare and Photographer Grace. This is a very solid well written tome. It has suspense, chemistry, and it is action packed. I very much enjoyed this book but I have not read the prior ones and I am going to be reading the back story soon. I am giving this 4 stars.

This was a great read! I loved the angst between the grumpy hero and the sarcastic heroine! This is book 12 in the Dark Protector series and I swear the books keep getting better although that is hard to imagine. It's best to start with book 1 and read forward as secondary charcters are in each book.

I really enjoyed this book, haven't read the rest of them but I might start, definitely loved all the paranormal characters involved, Adare and Grace's story kept me hooked into their story, the world-building is good, this is a dual pov book so that gives more of the story. Fantasy - mate bonding story that will have you falling for the alpha vampire. It's a bit fast-paced but that didn't bother me as I really love the speed of it overall.

I love the Dark Protectors series and when better to return to PNR than October?? Unfortunately, Guardian’s Grace was a miss for me. The last book in this series - Hero’s Haven - is my all time favorite PNR so I was really excited for this.

Grace is a Key and was mated to Adare years ago but doesn’t really believe it. The plot of this one really dragged for me - and considering all the action I wouldn’t expect to be bored but I was. It felt like we just kept going in the same circles over and over again.

I also couldn’t stop thinking about “I am the Keymaster...are you the Gatekeeper?” during discussions about her being the key. I probably should have quit this one but wanted to see where the plot went so I will be set for the next in the series. I will definitely be continuing to read the series and just considering this a blip.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

I was both surprised and happy that we were finally getting Adare and Grace's book. This one was a long time coming.

Adare offered to mate Grace when it was revealed that she was a key and was rapidly fading in a coma. Even without the sexy times that usually accompany a mating, these two became the most unconventional mates. In typical PNR fashion, they both assumed the other "wasn't that into them" and through lack of communication was allowed to result in them being separated for years without even addressing their mating.

Grace has been busy... getting into trouble. It's that trouble that ends up leading Adare back to her. Combining her failing health, his deathwish, and the rumblings of impending doom from all angles, these two are thrown into each other's lives with sexy results. While we get a pretty good reveal and some answers about Grace's missing memories, we don't get all the answers or a lot of movement in the larger story. I was happy to see some resolution in the younger kids storyline, but I'm sure there are some twists and turns ahead for them, too.

Guardian's Grace by Rebecca Zanetti is book 12 of the Dark Protector's Series. If you haven't read any of the series you are definitely missing out!! You should read the previous books for sure to understand all of the characters. This series is so nicely written that you can even jump into the series at book 8 Vampire's Faith if you are unable to begin with book 1.

This story is about Adare & Grace. Adare & Grace were mated 5 years ago while Grace was in a coma. The mating was not a typical mating so I was curious to see how Rebecca Zanetti would bring the 2 characters together. I admit, she did not disappoint. I was immediately drawn into the story and had a rough time putting the book away when I had to 'adult'. You know the anticipation you feel when something amazing is happening and you just can't catch your breath because you're feeling a million emotions within a short span of time? That's how I felt reading this book. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. This book had me thinking about what was going to happen next and wanting... no, more like needing... to find out.

I absolutely LOVE Adare! He is a strong, sexy, silent. loyal, Highlander at heart and he would do anything for his mate. I love when he realized that he truly did love her: Here's his 'moment' of realization directly from the book: "Yeah, he loved her. The ah ha moment didn’t slow his stride." This moment demonstrates how amazing he is. He just keeps going to get to his mate. I like Grace too, I felt at times she was a bit misguided with trying to do things completely on her own. I understood why she felt like a burden/responsibility to Adare (it's not like he showed a ton of emotions to anyone) however, I do wish she had reached out to other characters in the Realm. Although, if she had reached out for help her story wouldn't have moved along as well as it did.

Overall, I'm not the type of person to give away a lot of specifics to ruin the story so I'll leave it at this story is an absolute must read! Rebecca Zanetti has a way with words that draws you into the story and weaves a world around you that you just don't want to ever leave. This story was an amazing way to bring Grace & Adare together AND set more events up for future books. I look forward to the next story and can not wait to see how this entire conflict will eventually be solved (although I do want to know the ending.... I want it to be a slow burn so that I can enjoy this world for awhile longer as I'm definitely not ready to leave this amazing series for good).

This book is another must read by Rebecca Zanetti. It did not disappoint and I feel that any reader that enjoys the supernatural world will LOVE this series! Enjoy your reading!!

Zanetti is a master at writing alpha heroes you love, and would love to slap, all at the same time. Not to mention page turning action from start to finish, with just enough breathing room to fall in love with the characters. Guardian’s Grace did not disappoint.

I loved Grace’s feistiness, and brains. And fell hopelessly for Adare, a man who didn’t believe in love, but fiercely believes in loyalty and protecting those in his circle. I don’t want to give away spoilers, but these two were a perfect fit. Let’s also just say, I can’t wait to read Benny’s story.

This book is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series in order as there is a higher, over-arching story thread.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
Now I don’t normally read ARCs as soon as I get them, I normally wait till closer till release date but for this series I will read as soon as I can get my book loving hands on them! And this book didn’t disappoint with its forced proximity and mates of convenience yumminess.

Our vampire hero mated with our heroine out of necessity to wake her up from a coma as she has a fate she can’t escape from. Since waking from her coma our heroine decides she wants to live just as she finds out she might be dying.

There’s a lot going on and jam packed full of action but you get totally absorbed by the world and you don’t want it to come to an end. But beware this book should honestly be read in order, and I’m aware that this book is 12th in the series, but you also have the option of starting at book 7 which is the start of this story arc.

Loved this action packed, sexy and emotionally thrilling adventure filled with exciting and engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and thrilling passion. Highly entertaining reading that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end and was so hard to put down.

SO GOOD! I love this series! Adair and Grace are the perfect opposites for each other. I love the banter, conflict and romance between them. They are both headstrong and trying to do the right thing for the other, which creates the conflict. They are adorable and their story made me smile & laugh. I love the action & suspense, it was so well written I felt like I was running with them.

: 4.25 stars--GUARDIAN’S GRACE is the twelfth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTORS paranormal, romance series. This is vampire-demon hybrid, and one of the Seven Adare O’Cearbhaill, and photographer/enhanced female Grace Cooper. GUARDIAN’S GRACE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least, this particular arc of the series as there is a on-going premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity but the spheres are no longer capable of holding the ‘Seven, and the warriors have returned to Earth. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the ‘Lock’ must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Adare and Grace) GUARDIAN’S GRACE following the acrimonious relationship between vampire-demon hybrid, and one of the Seven Adare O’Cearbhaill, and photographer/enhanced female Grace Cooper. Having spent two years in a coma after an unexplained attack that left Grace without any memories of what happened or why, Grace’s health started to fail. In in an effort to save his best friend’s sister, Adare O’Cearbhaill offered to ‘mate’ with our heroine, a mating that was not mutual, and one only for convenience. Five years would pass before Adare would face his wayward mate, a woman whose importance to the supernatural world has made her a target of the Kurjans and Cysts. To protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, Adare struggles with Grace’s independent nature, a nature that continues to place her in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building but tempestuous romance and relationship between Grace and Adare, and the potential fall –out as Grace’s inability to let go of the past threatens not only her life but the life of everyone she loves.

Grace Cooper doesn’t believe the mating is real yet as the mating mark continues to fade, Grace struggles with the potential loss of a man she does not know. Adare O’Cearbhaill battles between head and heart as it pertains to the woman whose life he saved but mating if forever, and although there is the possibility to negate their mating, no one knows if Grace will fall back into her coma.

The relationship between Grace and Adare is one of convenience in that Adare mated Grace to save her life. Grace doesn’t want Adare to feel obligated to remain mated to a woman he doesn’t love but the reality goes much closer to the heart. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

One again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Realm King Dage Kayrs and his mate Queen Emma; Zane Kyllwood, Nicolaj Veis and Simone Brightston, Logan and Mercy, Ronan and Grace’s sister Faith, Benjamin Reese, Talen and Cara, Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood and her besties Libby and Paxton Phoenix; Ivar Kjeidsen and Promise Williams; Dayne, leader of the Kurjan nation, and his brother Terre; as well as Haven’s mother Allison; Grace’s ex boyfriend Brian, and his new wife Bobbi, and cougar shifter Jacki.

GUARDIAN’S GRACE is a story of betrayal and vengeance; secrets and lies; revelations and struggle; love and acceptance. The Kurjans and the Cysts have a new ally, and thusly the enemy is quickly evolving. The premise is detailed and engaging; the romance is captivating; the characters are strong, energetic, stubborn yet lost.

Guardian’s Grace by Rebecca Zanetti
Dark Protectors #12

In the continuation of the Dark Protectors saga we see Adare and Grace finally truly mated after five years apart. He did what he could to bring her out of a coma then let her roam free for a while. The whole realm is still in need of bringing Ulrich and the Kurjans down, but something happens in this book that tears the various parts of the united realm apart.

I have to say that this book did not hold my interest quite as much as some of the previous stories and I am not sure why. I perhaps wanted there to be an explanation for Adare and Grace to have been apart rather than getting together earlier. I liked them together but didn’t feel the chemistry that some of the other couples seemed to have. I also think I am eager to see how this will all be tied up in the end and what will happen.

I really like Hope and am eager to see how she, Libby, Pax and Drake will fare as the story continues on to the eventual conclusion.

This is a book that is better read as a series or at least with some of the back story under your belt. I cam in late to the series on book 7 and have not read all the books between. I felt there were a lot of characters to sift through and keep track of and I wanted to know what would happen as I tried to remember where I had seen these characters before and in what context(s) and books.

The fight scenes were splendid, the bad guys truly evil, the plot was furthered nicely, there was a bit of a surprise with Pax’s thread in the story, and the main H/h did get their HEA or at least a HFN as we still don’t know how the Key (Grace is a key) and the 7 (Adare is one of the 7) will fare by the end of the book.

I believe I will continue with the series but I am eager to see how it will end…eventually.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical for the ARC – This is my honest review.

3-4 Stars

Grace and Adare... finally. Their story promised so much and it was delivered. I think this book is my favorite out of the entire series. Adare mated Grace to save her life. He didn’t want a mate, but he found he couldn’t let her go either. Lots of action and the heat between the two is off the charts. LOVED IT!

Adare O’Cearbhaill is an elite vampire soldier but he’ll always be a gruff, honorable Highlander at heart. As such, he knows his duty and though he does not believe in love, he stepped in five years ago to save his friend’s human sister-in-law by mating her with a bite only. He’s given her freedom despite keeping tabs on her all this time, but when she puts herself in danger, he can no longer keep his distance, even though she’s not interested in his protection.

Grace Cooper has finally made a name for herself as a photographer and would rather go back to the simplicity of her life before she knew anything about immortals. She’s skeptical about her supposed role in the epic battle that’s said to be forthcoming. She has a birthmark, but she doesn’t believe it means anything special. Unfortunately, her mating brand is quickly fading, along with her health. She’s determined to find a solution on her own, but when she draws enemies to her, Adare is there to keep her safe. With her health in danger from multiple threats, her best chance at survival is to make her mating a real one and Adare will accept nothing less.

I enjoyed the action and fast pacing of this book, but Grace ruined a lot of it for me. She seemed to want to do nothing but fight and consistently made rash decisions with no thought and stupid mistakes, putting herself and everyone else in danger, just for the sake of defying Adare and doing things for herself. I would’ve liked and respected her more if she’d actually tried to be a team with Adare or even any other character or if she’d respected that others knew more than she did. Instead she kept trying to be a martyr in the name of independence. Grace didn’t come off as strong, independent or perceptive to me; just seemed neurotic and her conversations with Adare were nearly always arguments and often about the same issues, which just became repetitive and tedious. I wound up liking strong, silent Adare more than I expected to. He was very much a protective alpha, but he had an underlying loneliness and vulnerability that was endearing. Adare definitely had emotional closedness and guilt to deal with that I don’t think was adequately addressed between him and Grace. I think a bit more discussion between them about his past and losing his family would’ve helped, but of course they could barely speak at all without fighting so I’m not sure when that would’ve happened. They definitely had passion, but I struggled to believe them as a couple, especially after she pushed him away for so long. Grace’s issues over her medical condition and lost memories also got old and her secrecy over it just lead to her making even more stupid decisions.

I’ve only read one previous book in this series, Hero’s Haven, and I enjoyed that one enough to want to continue with this one. I followed the story fine, but with so many appearances from interconnected characters from previous books, I’d say this series is best read in order. There was quite a bit of world-building done here in several chapters that didn’t include the hero and heroine at all. I’m sure these scenes will be necessary to the story arc of the rest of the series, but I found them to be distracting and a bit too frequent, often pulling me out of the story at times when I was annoyed by Grace’s attitude and already struggling to stay invested.

Overall, I didn’t feel like there was much romance between these two. Up until the last chapter I was thinking I’d probably just give up on this series, but Benny was so adorable and sweet, I’ll likely follow up and read his story just because I liked him so much.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So I've read and loved all of Rebecca Zanetti's books in the Dark Protector series and this was another great addition. The series itself is very enjoyable with a unique, refreshing take on the paranormal world with shifters, demons, witches, hybrids etc and all books are somewhat interlinked in terms of the bigger picture of what's happening in their world.

We met Grace and Adare in the previous books where Adare saved Grace's life while she was in a coma by mating her through bite and mark. Feeling like they're hurting the other or being a burden because of the mating, the two end up staying away from each other. Five years later, circumstances bring them back together, with Adare off on a mission he doesn't think he'll survive and Grace's health seems to be deteriorating once again. While the two still fight a losing battle against their attraction and the world around them seems to be crumbling, Adare will stop at nothing to save his mate.

I liked both characters; with Adare being the alpha broody scotsmen who was very protective of his mate, and Grace the feisty independent h. This leads to a lot of back and forth between the two; with a love hate relationship that just ends up being all love. It was great delving into both their backstories and seeing their chemistry just explode on page. I just would have liked to see more of their bonding on page and seeing the love aspect of their relationship unfurl a little more.

Nevertheless, the storyline was very captivating and rather action packed, with great world building and writing as always from Mrs. Zanetti. Like with the other books there are a number subplots going on at the same time that left me super excited to see whats coming next.

All in all a great read!

Thank you Netgalley and Rebecca Zanetti for the ARC.

A great addition to this series. I liked that we skipped a few years ahead from the last book. Though with Hope being older it is a little weird as I still think of her as little girl. We finally get Adare and Grace's book. I have waited for this book since the first time we meet both of them. We of course are still fighting the bad people. They are getting smart though and more things happen. This book is fast-paced, high octane, sexy and makes your heart swoon. I look forward to more books in this series and finding out what happens next.

*I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion*

I adore this series, it's different than many paranormals and has got me craving the next book when I finish the latest one. Adare O'Cearbhaill, ancient Scot warrior, is one of the Seven, elite warriors who expect to kill the Kurjan's leader in the ultimate battle showdown. None of the Seven expect to survive and never expected to find their mates. Little did they realize they each would find her., that one woman fate had for them.

Adare's mating mark appears for Faith's sister Grace Cooper when she's dying in a coma. He mates her with the mark & a bite, in the hope it will save her life. It's not a complete mating without sex. This story is set five years later when Grace's health is failing although no one knows but her doctors. Both of these people are extremely independent and never spend enough time together to fall in love. I enjoyed Adare's commitment to Grace to save her life. Grace had to slow down long enough to give into the chemistry between them. Each one is so stubborn and determined to not to be the cause of harm to the other. During all this we have lots of action where they see what the other is made of, and come to respect. I enjoyed the journey to love between these two.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An entertaining, fast-paced read which follows the established formulae for this series. I love the worldbuilding and the many secondary characters, especially the younger ones like Hope. Adare and Grace make for an interesting couple but aren’t my favorite in this series. They bicker, of course, and spend a lot of time fighting their feelings for each other. Even if they wouldn’t do that, things still seem quite dire, and the odds are not in their favor. I had hoped for a little more of a heartfelt connection between them though, and a little less of the high-handed, overbearing alpha male and the wayward, sneaky heroine. They don’t communicate too well, which seemed a missed opportunity, even for an action-filled romance. One thing that also bothered me a little was that sometimes the violence was a little over the top, and when done by the hero towards an innocent bystander … that’s a no for me.

Grace was in a coma after an attack but since she is a key, Adare mated her by placing his mark on her and biting her. There are three keys and they want to keep them safe even though they don't know exactly how they fit into saving the world and taking down the evil big bad. Adare feels like he pushed the mating on her so he leaves for years but keeps an eye on Grace. But when her health begins to deteriorate and her brand starts to disappear, she comes face to face with Adare once again.

Adare is hard to describe. He's a super soldier that along with his brothers took an oath to keep Earth safe and keep their real powers a secret. He's a lot more than a vampire or a soldier but he goes on secret missions that are dangerous. He might be cranky but he's also reliable and loyal.

Grace doesn't remember her life before the coma and puts herself in danger trying to remember her past. She also puts herself in danger when she seeks out vampire blood to try and save a child. While Adare and Grace fight their feelings for each other for a while, I knew it was only a matter of time before they gave into their desire. These two are great together and ignite the pages of this book.

Along with the action, the missions and betrayal, there's also a medical mystery and a new path for Pax. I love the kids in this series so it was really nice to see them, especially Hope and Pax.

This story starts out with Grace and Adare not really liking each other all that much because they never took the time to get to know one another. It was so much fun watching them get to know each other, see how the other has been living and what they've been doing while apart and really seeing each other through new eyes.

I love the world that this author has created even though at times it can be confusing when you first read about it. The characters have been great and I love getting glimpses into their lives while reading the series. I'm really looking forward to reading more of this series.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
