This was a wonderful addition to the series! Grace puts herself in danger and that’s unacceptable to Adare. He’s let her do what she wanted since his path isn’t the easiest but he still wants her safe. They both are stubborn but they are perfect for each other. They may have originally mated to save Grace’s life but this time there’s no coma, a lot of chemistry and Adare’s going to save his mate no matter what. I definitely recommend!

Now I have to admit, I’ve read Rebecca Zanetti‘s Dark Protectors Series, but I’d only gotten half way through the series. (But I would advise you to read them in order)
So..... Grace is somewhat special in the immortal world and she was dying, so Adare stepped up and “sort of mated with her” but Grace wasn’t having any of that world and ran away......
Adare is a legend amongst his people, a warrior to the very core.... what made him bite and mate with the fragile human woman was only known to Adare, and when she took off I got the impression he wasn’t best pleased.
Grace is living the nomad lifestyle (think she’s keeping a low profile for a few reasons) helping people where she can, but she’s becoming sick, she thinks she’s dying.
Adare is your typical alpha male, but he’s also feeling somewhat of a fool, why didn’t he take the time to show his mate how to heal herself, teach her the immortal world (well she did run off and leave him!) he’s worried that she’s sick, his blood should do the trick, getting her to take it is going to prove interesting.
Catching up with her, Adare has no intention of letting his mate escape again, and this time the mating will be done correctly.
But should Adare be taking his time to get reacquainted with his mate? He’s on a mission that he probably won’t come back from......
Great story, but I felt a little out of the loop (probably need to go read the previous books)
But the action was on point, the fight scenes were smooth and effortless. And let’s just say that there was enough steam in this book for several saunas ;-) lol

This author lured me in again with another one for this series. Adare thought he was doing something when he helped Grace. Him being from the immortal world she wanted nothing to do with. Destiny has different plans for her and she does feel a pull other than that he is a vampire to her mate. The delightful thing I liked about him was that he was a highlander. Well they must come to some sort of terms if she wants to stay alive thanks to drama at the door. Caught up in their stuff we follow until we get the answers we need.

Guardian's Grace is the twelfth book in the Dark Protectors #12 series by Rebecca Zanetti. A steamy paranormal romance full of magic and intrigue. Demon hybrids, vampires, shifters, humans, other dimensions, keys, prophets there are so much to love about this series. While it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. I can't wait to read the next book in the Dark Protectors series.

Wow ! Rebecca Zanetti has gifted her readers with another wonderful book in her exciting Dark Protectors Series .

The author contimues one of my favorite paranormal romance series with Adare and Grace's story. I've been addicted to this series ever since reading Talon's book, but let me just say that Adare gave my favorite vampire a good run for his money in this one. The way he was so devoted and protective of Grace definitely gave me all the feels. Then there is the whole mystery of the Seven and the Keys and of course the Lock, and just what is up with those villainous Kurjuns. This book had it all .... the heat .... the romance .... the action and ever growing suspense and mystery .... secrets .... betrayals .... and fate herself. The plot flowed so well from one twist into another and had me hanging on every word.

I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.

Another STUPENDOUS, AWESOME, AMAZING, ASTONISHING READ! This Grace and Adare's story. I loved every minute of this story. There is do much going on and even more in store, with The Seven and all the different nations in The Realm. In this story Adare, one of the Seven partially mated with Grace, who was in a coma for 2 years, 5 years ago. Unfortunately, something had gone wrong and Grace is slowly getting sick again. Adare and Grace agree to fully mate in the hopes they will reverse her sickness from coming back. Filled with action, betrayal, those ugly Kurjans, a division within The Realm, more secrets, suspense, so much bloody action, hot sex, and BENJAMIN REESE!!!!...makes for a riveting read. I FREAKING LUUUURRRVVVEEDDD IT!!!!

P.S. Now that we have clue as to who is possibly Benjamin's mate, can his book be next? Lol.

Guardian’s Grace is a book that I’ve been waiting for, to finally see how Grace and Adare come together as complete mates, not the stop-gap measures that Adare took years ago to save Grace’s life… but fully mated. And I was not one little bit disappointed with their fiery relationship, the sass, snark, and sexiness just flowed from this couple. Two more extremely stubborn people would be hard to find, yet in spite of everything, there is that spark between them that will not be denied any longer. Once again Grace is growing weaker and her only hope really is becoming fully mated to Adare in spite of wanting nothing to do with the supernatural world. Her life and the power that she possesses depends upon their union… stubbornness aside.

We’ll touch on several ongoing threads of this series in Guardian’s Grace, get caught up with previous couples, see how Hope is growing, and do battle with some very nasty pieces of trash. Fast-paced in some places where it’s action-filled, slower in the places where threads are crossing over, and definitely sexy as Adare and Grace acknowledge their need for each other, even if they did argue against it, in their own ways, throughout a good deal of their story. Yeah, stubborn people.

It’s hard to believe that Guardian’s Grace is the twelfth book in the Dark Protectors series – a series that is still going strong after all these intense years. I have enjoyed every step (book) of this journey and I’m looking forward to more to come in the future (thinking Vampire from 1001 Dark Nights). I know that it would be a huge undertaking at this point to suggest going back to the beginning if you’re starting this adventure here… but if you can, they are all amazing stories that in one way or another have brought us to this point and I believe you’d enjoy the experience.

I had a blast back in the Dark Protectors world, and Grace’s story, her full mating with Adare was everything I’d hoped for and more. A 1001 Dark Nights novella, Vampire, is up next and that I’m looking forward to. If you love an action-filled Paranormal Romantic Suspense with a larger than life cast, people to care about, to root for to find their happiness, and just a really good story then you’ll want to dive into the 12th Dark Protectors book, Guardian’s Grace… right now.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Kensington Books via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Guardian’s Grace by Rebecca Zanetti

Book 12 of the Dark Protectors series. Best read as part of the series. Paranormal vampire romance. Grace and Adair’s story.

Grace and Adair became mates five years ago when Grace was in a comma. They have spent the years apart and with the mating mark fading, Grace thinks that taking the virus will give them both a fresh start. Adair doesn’t agree. His solution is for a proper mating to occur to reinforce their bond. Let the courting, biting, spanking and sex begin. Meanwhile, the enemy of the vampire race ramps up their kidnapping of enhanced women making Grace a target. Adair is at his best in Protector mode, but the Seven are under attach as well so his attention is split. Better watch out, the enemy is getting smarter.

Protector instinct and alpha male tendencies make Adair quite domineering. At least he tries with Grace. She is stubborn and doesn’t succumb willingly to his demands. The two have a love hate relationship that grows to love as they fight the Kurjans and stop fighting the sexual pull between them.

Non stop action and suspense, romance and sexy bedroom (and shower) scenes ensue.
4.5 stars

Oh I have been waiting for Grace and Adare's story. I was not disappointed. They were not a love match, but a mating to save Grace's life. So Adare let her go to be on her own. He kept watch over while she was gone.
One of the things I love about this series is there is a lot of action and plenty of wondering what's going to happen next. Grace deals with a medical condition that is very worrisome. We also find out Grace's special ability. Adare is determined to do his duty. So to see them fight it out was awesome.
I love the ongoing story with with the enemy and Hope. I love the twist and I'm excited to read the next book.

This was a fast-paced paranormal romance story. You dive right in with Adare stumbling into Grace who disappeared shortly after their incomplete mating a few years before. The banter between the two is immediate as well as the action and fight scenes as Adare tries to keep Grace safe along with protecting the interests of the Seven. While Grace just wants to get far away from Adare and recover her memories.
Based on the synopsis I did not realize this was the 12th book in a series. While it was still okay to read as a standalone it would have been helpful to have all the background on the world as there are a lot of characters involved. There were a few hops to new side characters that did not fit in with the current story but seem to be set up for future occurrences.
Since the story was so fast paced, I found it jumped around a little and felt a bit inconsistent but overall, still enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for a copy of Guardian’s Grace in exchange for my honest opinion.

I've realized that it is quite impossible for me to resist any book that features the Dark Protectors. With this series, Rebecca Zanetti has created a world that I am completely and absolutely obsessed with. Demon hybrids, vampires, shifters, humans, other dimensions, keys, prophets... There are so many characters and elements still to discover and Guardian's Grace only made me hungry for more.

I went into this knowing that I probably wouldn't like Grace. The thing is, I haven't liked her in any of her appearances so far. However, I had a very strong feeling that things would change with this book. I trusted Zanetti to make me respect the heck out of her heroine and guess what? By the end... I did!

As I said, I'm obsessed with the Dark Protectors, and obviously the Seven have captured a piece of my heart, so Adare had already earned his place in my harem. He was a hot, brooding, Scotsman who continued to make me melt! He saved Grace's life by mating her (non-sexually) and had a hard time keeping up with her ever since. Grace valued her independence and wasn't eager to let someone start making decisions for her. All of this amped up the tension between them big time, revving up their sexual attraction even more.

While Grace kept putting herself in danger and Adare kept having to save her, the rest of the world was kind of falling apart. Something else is brewing in this supernatural world and I'm definitely here for it. I love how Hope and Pax have aged and matured and I'm excited to see their involvement when everything unfolds. The bad guys have new tricks up their sleeves and I'm wondering how it will play in the books to come. This was a spectacular read and I'm eager for more!

In Guardian’s Grace, Rebecca Zanetti’s 12th Dark Protector book, the Dark Protector’s Universe undergoes some unexpected, life-altering, and monumental changes, and there are also some surprises in store for the Seven and the Realm as well. Colorful description, phenomenal worldbuilding, wonderful development of the characters and their relationships, exhilarating action sequences, steamy romance, and clever and surprising story advancements, twists, and turns drew me in right away and kept me totally invested until before I knew it the novel was over. As far as Grace Cooper is concerned, she and Adare O’Cearbhaill are mates in name only because he was forced to mate her to save her life. Since then, they have been living separate lives. That works just fine for her and Adare, who has been going on one mission after another, believing his mate is staying out of trouble. When her life is endangered, their separate lives collide. Will they be able to survive a true mating and all that it entails beyond the mating sex? Especially when all Grace can focus on is finding out the truth behind her coma and subsequent memory loss.

Independent, stubborn, and compassionate, Grace is a talented photographer who has always lived in her sister Faith’s shadow, believing there was nothing particularly special about herself until her life changed completely five years ago. Stricken by a coma after a deadly attack by an unknow assailant, Grace was awakened by vampire/demon hybrid, soldier Adare mating her. Grace awakens to a new world of immortals – vampires, demons, shifters, etc. – in which she, as an enhanced human and a key, has a special destiny to fulfill and no memory of her immediate life before the coma. Nevertheless, Grace is resistant to accepting the bounds and limitations of life in the immortal world, especially as Adare’s mate and the key, so she returns to her normal life as soon as possible.

Honorable, loyal, grumpy, and a fierce immortal warrior, Adare is a Highlander who has shut down his emotions after the loss of all his family and countless fellow warriors in wars and battle over the years. He agrees to help his brother by saving his mate’s sister from a coma and he’s committed to fulfilling his duty to be her mate and protect and keep her safe. However, he has no intention of falling in love with her. When she leaves to pursue her life, he’s fine with it, respecting her need for space. After all, as a member of the Seven he has responsibilities of his own to focus on anyway and neither wants or has time to babysit his human mate. Still he finds himself intrigued by her gift, inspired by her talent as a photographer, entranced by her beauty, and continually surprised by her, as she is not quite the fragile, naïve human he has always believed her to be.

At times, Grace is so frustrating with her refusal to see what’s in front of her, tendency to act without thinking first, and secret keeping. Even without considering that her behavior can have a dangerous impact on others besides herself. I get that she is independent and that she doesn’t see herself as one of the immortal, or immortal adjacent, so she doesn’t need to live within their limitations. But the reality is that she is in fact one of them and you would think that having a sister who is mated to an immortal and deeply entrenched into the immortal world she might take more time to think beyond her own tunnel vision. Part of it I guess is her being an emotional person. And that is one of the things that helps to balance out Adare’s total lockdown on his emotions. Well, it isn’t that all his emotions are on lockdown. Clearly, he loves his fellow Seven warriors and isn’t afraid to show them. But in general, he is very controlled, except it seems when it comes to Grace. Then his emotions flow freely. I love when the hero and heroine have character traits that help to bring balance to each other, and when they help each other to see and appreciate things about themselves they are unable to see on their own. The development of their relationship in the novel is nicely done. It makes me want to go back and try and catch up on their past interactions.

The action scenes are intense, well-choreographed, and exciting. Zanetti has created a creepy, evil, frighteningly cunning enemy in this series that really keeps the heroes and heroines on their toes, and that keeps the stakes high throughout the novel. You just don’t know what to expect and I love that about this series so far. While I think I liked Hero’s Haven more, Guardian’s Grace is yet another thrilling, action-packed, steamy, and romantic outing in the Dark Protector series that is a definite page turner. As a reader who jumped into this series quite far in with the previous book there’s still so much about this world that I don’t know. But it’s clear that this book signals fundamental changes to the world and universe that the characters of this series inhabit and that the war between the Realm/the Seven, and the Kurjans/Cysts is about to reach another level. I am excited to see what’s next for these characters and this world, as the stakes get higher and more intense. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series as there is still so much more to explore in this world and for these characters.

The Seven are doing everything they can to prepare for the battle with the evil Ulrick. But the Shifter, Witch, and Demon Nations think they've gone too far (or even that they should have done anything in the first place), And are calling for sanctions. War seems to be brewing on several sides...and their dreaded enemy, the Kurjans, have unexpectedly found a way to negate one of the Sevens greatest advantages. As the danger continues to grow, who will emerge the victor?

I loved this book (and the series) so hard! There's danger, intrigue, good fighting evil, steam, and an unexpected surprise meeting at the end. Setting up for the next book? I can't wait to find out!

Guardian’s Grace is the twelfth book in Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series. However, I considered this the sixth book in what I called Zanetti’s “Seven” series, which focuses on the next generation of protectors and a group ancient protectors who have been hidden for centuries. Together they work to stop the ultimate evil from taking over all the realms. This book is a romantic suspense novel with fantastic characters and a great storyline which adds to the Dark Protector World that Zanetti has created.

When Adare O’Cearbhaill agreed to save Grace Cooper, an enhanced and special human female by mating her—with merely a bite and a brand, he had no idea what he was getting into. But when he discovers his mate is in danger he will anything to keep her safe- even from her stubborn self. Since awaking from her coma, Grace has struggled with all that she has learned about the immortal world and she’s desperate to discover what her life was like before the coma. As the battle between these unlikely mates heats up, an old enemy appears, but will Adare be able to protect the female whose come to mean everything? Read it and find out!

This story is filled with danger and intrigue. I loved the characters. They are both strong individuals with strong beliefs and personalities. At times I wanted to throttle both Adare and Grace for being so thickheaded and stubborn, but that just added to the fierce chemistry between them. Zanetti has done a fantastic job creating the larger, background story of the Seven versus the Cyst. Each of her books adds to the overall storyline and builds a tension that ever increasing and easily draws the reader to each book.

All the books in this series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Will Benny finally get his HEA?

This is an honest review for an ARC received, courtesy of the author via NetGalley.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Rebecca Zanetti a couple of years ago at Readers on the River in Kentucky. She was a new author to me at that time. Her personality was so fun and entertaining. I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of Deadly Silence, book 1 in her Blood Brother series. I devoured that book! So, when I recently saw Guardian’s Grace on NetGalley, I jumped at the opportunity. I hadn’t yet had the privilege of reading any of that series yet, but it can be read as a standalone plus my fellow Nola504Nerd Angie said I would love this series. Angie was right and I’m about to spend too much money buying the first 11 books in the series. YOLO!

“I’ve wanted you for years. Based on your reaction the other night, I believe it’s mutual.”

Adare O’Cearbhaill is a vampire/demon hybrid soldier and part of “The Seven”. He’s mated to Grace Cooper, a photographer and sister to Emma [Queen of the Realm]. Adare mated Grace 5 years ago, with merely a bite and a brand, to save the life of the Queen’s sister. Adare thinks humans are fragile and not worth the distraction from his duties. But there’s something about Grace that draws him in. Grace doesn’t believe she’s destined for anything great, despite the birthmark denoting her as a “key”. Adare and Grace have lived apart for the whole 5 years they’ve been mated. Neither have a desire for a true mating. Unfortunately, Grace’s health is fading, along with her mating brand. When Adare discovers this, he’s ready to do whatever it takes to keep Grace safe. He vows that this time he’ll complete the mating and make Grace his. Grace is feisty, independent and not willing to submit. Adare is forceful and very much the alpha male who wants things his way. The 2 stubborn mates fight each other every step of the way. Their chemistry is off the charts and they can’t deny each other for long. As the realm is crumbling around them and danger comes at every turn, Adare must answer the question: Duty – or desire?

“Rumor has it you’ll heal faster if your blood gets pumping.” He grinned, gathering her hair in his hand and leaning down to kiss her luscious lips. “Are you going to heal me?” … “Yes.” Her eyes were a luminous green in the steamy shower. “I’m going to heal you in all sorts of ways.”

5 action-packed and steamy stars!

I am a huge fan of the Dark Protectors and this book does not disappoint. It even has my favorite combination of the grumpy alpha hero and the more positive-thinking and cheerful heroine. I loved Adare's and Grace's story. The obstacles to their relationship--internal and external--felt authentic. Plus, all the things that Ms. Zanetti does so well, the super hot chemistry, the fun banter, the increased sexual tension, the sizzling hot love scenes, and the fabulous kick-ass fight scenes are all in this book. Plus, there are some super fun secondary characters I hope I see in future books.

I read GUARDIAN'S GRACE in one sitting. The whole story was such a thrilling ride. I mean, who doesn't love an immortal highlander and the woman who keeps him on his toes?!

I had been waiting for Grace and Adare’s continuation!!! We met them 5 years ago when Grace was in a coma. Barely mated, they’ve spent that time apart. Aware giving Grace some space and Grace trying to regain the past she can’t remember.
The excitement continues in the Dark Protector’s series. The end is nearer than we’d like.
5 stars!!!

Adare has given Grace her freedom for the last five years since the mating that saved her life and brought her out of her coma. But Grace inadvertently gave herself away to the enemy when she contacted a fraudulent vampire online. Now they are thrown together again in close quarters, while Grace is trying to piece together what happened in the months leading up to her coma, and Adare is trying to keep her safe and out of trouble. These two have an unconventional start to their relationship. Adare mated with her to bring her out of the coma, and thus saving her life. Grace is attracted to him, and he obviously wants her just as much.

The action was very well done, with plenty of suspense built in. There was an unexpected twist at the end. I was really immersed in the story and felt a bit cheated when it ended. There is still a lot that has to be resolved between the Seven and the Realm, and with their enemies. The Kurjans and Cysts have also grown in power and abilities, and that makes things a bit more interesting.

Adare and Grace are two great characters, especially Grace, and there is still some mystery surrounding her role as a Key. Their romance was okay. It didn’t have quite the same thrill to it as some of the earlier pairings did. And I think, right now, I’m more interested in seeing where this is all going and how it’s going to end. I loved seeing all the old, beloved characters playing important roles in this book.

Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So I've recently read a few books by the author so when this one came up on Netgalley I requested it not realizing that it's Book 12 in a long standing series. No surprise then that I was a bit lost on the back stories of some of the characters and even the back story on our two protagonists because I kept feeling that I've jumped into the middle of a book.  I will say that when I managed to follow along and put aside this strange feeling of not knowing everyone and everything I managed to quite enjoy myself.
Grace is so prickly and so determined not to rely on anyone; not her sister or her mate who came to her rescue when she was lying in a coma.  Of course that's not even a patch on her mate who in his own way has been keeping tabs on her even as he lets her believe that she's footloose and fancy free.  Once we get past all the prickle the story picks up steam or should I say fire crackle and burn because it's not just about the chemistry but that every thing that these two touch seems to go up in flames.
When Grace finally manages to figure out what's going on and who's targeting her and why, she's managed to break long held alliances and made herself and her mate outcasts.  As for the villains no one saw them coming. I totally loved the suspense and how it all came down.  Now all she's got to do is rescue herself? or perhaps hold on long enough for Adare to find and rescue her.
I enjoyed all the colorful characters and will have to go back and find this book list and read how it all cam about.
