Adare's and Grace's rocky history started five years ago, when Adare half-mated to the human in a coma to save her from dying. Since then Grace has stayed away, determined to handle things on her, even with her health failing. When Adare crashes back into her life, and old enemies make new, very dangerous threats, she learns that the only way to regain her health is to fully mate with the dangerous Highlander who is determined to own her body and soul.

Honestly? I shouldn't have read this book. As the 12th in the series you really can't go into this one with no previous knowledge like I did. Adare and Grace share a backstory which is explored in previous books and I really felt I was missing out because I didn't read them. There are a lot of previous couples that make up most of the book's cast that I'm sure will delight previous readers but I just spent most of my time feeling lost because I didn't know any of them. Generally I think if you're a fan of the series you'll probably love this one too! Grace and Adare were a hot couple and the action is insane, Zanetti definitely knows how to write a fight scene.

As a non-previous reader though this was still an enjoyable book. There was a lot of high-paced action, and the heat between our two mains was boiling. Grace was a bit silly in some situations, but it's understandable when she's suddenly been thrust back into a world she was trying to stay away from.

Adare was very sexy and mysterious, and I loved how his accent came out when he was angry or upset (or during sexy times). He was the perfect Alpha hero, protective and stubborn, withholding his feelings--but he was also very selfless, ready to sacrifice himself to save not just his love, but the entire human race.

So, in short: Do not go into this one without reading the others. I'll probably come back to this review in the future when I get the chance to read the previous books because most of my complaints were down to that which is entirely on me, and has nothing to do with the writing.

I just love Rebecca Zanetti. Whenever she releases a new book for pre-order, I automatically click that button without reading the description. And Guardian's Grace did not disappoint.

After being introduced to Adare and Grace a couple of books ago, I have been anticipating their story ever since. When we first met Grace, she was in a coma and on the brink of death. As a last resort to save her, Adare mated her. It worked, for the most part. Grace wakes up and to make up for being forced to mate a person she has never met, Adare gives her the freedom she seeks. This is where their book Guardian's Grace first starts off. They are reunited after not seeing each other for a couple of years in a chance encounter when Grace tries to get vampire blood online. Adare tracks her down, unknown to the fact that it is her, right before he goes on a mission that has a high possibility of ending his life. With Adare being able to find her online, also means that the Kurjans can.

While Grace is trying to get to Realm headquarters and Adare is trying to accomplish his mission, they encounter an ex-fiancé, an ex-boyfriend, many evil people that want to kill them, and a lot of explosives.

In this book I greatly enjoyed the fact that we get to see some of our favorite couples make an appearance such as Dage and Emma, and Simone and Nick. And I CANNOT forget the couple of chapters that are hinting at other books for characters such as Hope, Pax, and Drake and of course Benny and Karma. SO excited for those books!!!

I voluntarily read this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

How can a 346 page novel feel too short?

Fancy the sound of a PNR featuring a Demon-Vampire hybrid Highlander warrior, a member of a secret society called the Seven and the amnesiac photographer he mated five years ago, as a favour to her sister's mate, to bring her out of a coma? Me too!

The Seven are a band of warriors who defied the laws of physics to defeat and imprison their sworn enemy Ulric in a different physical plane, but the barriers keeping Ulric imprisoned are weakening and a day of reckoning is fast approaching. Ulric's people are the Kurjans, a violent race who kidnap, rape and kill enhanced human women.

Adare O’Cearbhaill has kept a careful watch over his mate Grace Cooper since his bite and mating mark brought her out of a coma, all without her knowing, but it's gone too far when she starts meeting other men in bars to buy vampire blood. It seems that their mating of convenience five years ago hasn't taken, Grace can no longer heal herself and she is suffering from crippling headaches. She has consulted numerous Realm physicians and they believe she may be allergic to Adare's blood cells. Could her only hope be to take the vaccine and hope it breaks the mating bond?

Adare and Benny have devised a risky plan to infiltrate one of their enemy's strongholds and rescue the enhanced women that the Kurjans have kidnapped. It will probably end in death for one or both of them but if it means his mate can be free to find love with another ale Adare will make that sacrifice.

This series reminds me of the best of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but with humour and more fallible heroes, completely OTT these are fast-paced, humorous and well-plotted. I dread to think how many of the Seven's secret lairs have been blown up over the course of this series.

If you like your PNR with a dash of humour, big explosions and overarching plot arcs then this series is the one for you. It just gets more fun as the books go on.

I have been waiting so long for Grace and Adare’s story. I mean Grace and Adare have been a part of each other for so long I was thinking this book would never come along. And I did wonder how it would be explained that someone as protective and possessive as Adare would let Grace be free until he claimed her. But this is Rebecca Zanetti and she never disappoints.

Zanetti has quickly become one of my favorite paranormal authors. I love the way she writes and how her characters jump right off the screen. I really wish a station like NetFlix would turn her books into one of their made for station series. Because these characters deserve to be available to everyone.

Another incredible story in the Dark Protectors series!

"The jaws of life", that's what Grace is going to do with Adare's emotions, break them open, she's got time as she's immortal. Adare has a long way to go to figure things out with Grace, he's left her alone for five years, and he keeps coming up with things that he has to teach her, but he also realizes that he thinks he doesn't want her either as his overall mission for the Seven will be his downfall.

The books takes an explosive turn and keeps on twisting the reader on a curvaceous path of a wild ride. I loved Benny, he's hilarious. All the interactions with the Realm and the ultimate death blow is dealt when a secret is revealed. There is so much more to figure out what happens next, but you'll have to wait for the next book in the series. Totally sucked me in and I loved it.

Guardian's Grace by Rebecca Zanetti is #12 in the Dark Protectors series. This is another great addition to this series. It gives the reader a small advance in the arc (Hope & friends, the war against the Kurjans and the Realm) but a great story for Grace and Adare. It is a roller coaster ride that started when Adare partially mated Grace so she would wake from a coma and picks up five years after her awakening. In the last few years, she has been quietly seeking medical advice for the complications (a fading mating brand and diminished health) due to this partial mating. The resolution to this was a surprise I had not considered.

With this series there is always a lot of action and this book does not disappoint. Her command of descriptive words put me as a reader in the middle of every fight and building blowing up. I can feel the ground rumble as buildings explode and the whir of the helicopter’s blades

There is a surprise from the Kurjans, more insight into Hope, Paxton and Drake who are growing up (That’s going to be a great book in the future.) and problems in the Realm.

As always, I can’t wait for the next book!

I thank Netgalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book for free and give an honest review.

Rebecca Zanetti never lets me down. Guardian's Grace the 12th book in the dark protectors series was so damn good. I have been looking forward to Adare and Grace's book for a while now. They semi-mated five years ago, but never consummated the mating. It was clear from the book Vampire's Faith that Adare and Grace had feelings for each other but like any good tortured hero Adare had issues. I had very high expectations going into this read and it met and exceeded them all.

Adare was so sexy. A Highlander of ole he had a dark past filled with pain, loss and duty. The pain of loss so great, the guilt crushing that he turned his emotions off. He didn't want to let anyone in to hurt him again. A loyal and honorable warrior he protected his people and tries to save as many enhanced females as he can. I loved watching his hard shell crack. Grace was a great heroine. She was smart, honest, caring, and a little bit sassy. A gifted photographer Grace had a way of looking deep into a person's soul through her camera. I loved that she was so down to earth and relatable. They made a really hot couple. I loved everything about them.

I really enjoyed the ongoing plot of the series. This book started a few years after the last book ended. Hope, Pax , Drake, and Libby are teens now. I keep trying to decide which boy I want for Hope but right now I can go either way. I really enjoyed seeing past favorite characters. Although I was a bit upset with the way the Shifter nation and Jordan Pride acted during the drama with the Realm. I was sad that I didn't get to see some Kayrs children. I want to see Jase and Brenna's kid, Conn and Moira, I want to see if Amber and Kane had kids I want to see if the King and Queen have more kids, And of course I need to know if Talen and Cara have more kids. I need more time with the past couples and the Kayrs family. Maybe a Christmas book or something, but I feel like we really need a family reunion like book. Anyways..... Benny OMG Benny. This book gave us readers a peek of Benny's mate and I just can't wait to get my hands on Benny's book. Really though I can't wait to get my hands on anything Rebecca Zanetti writes, because she is the best. I recommend this series to anyone that likes paranormal romance.

Though all the Dark Protectors Novels are full of passion, emotion and action, this book is a little lacking.
The book takes place about 5 years after the events of Heroes Haven, where Grace has been living a life of freedom, and ignoring her mating to Adare. Deciding she has had enough independence, Adare intervenes and takes over. Throughout the story, Adare and Grace encounter plenty action, hot romance, and a happily ever after. However, there are some things missing.
Adare's and Grace's relationship does not develop much through the course of the novel. They fall in love but don't share anything with each other of their past, or their feelings. Their progression from disliking each other to passionate love is very dry and random. They have their scenes of importance, but it doesn't really add up together.
There are a lot of plot points that are not explained or resolved.
Adare's emotions over his ex, go from depressed to nearly uncaring, where he showed more emotion in Vampire's Faith. His guilt over what happened to his clan is stated but not explained. It serves no point in the story, and does not seemed to be resolved by the end.
Mainly, the two characters have issues but don't seem to do anything about them.
There is a lot going on in this book, but most of it is rushed and unexplained.
The best part about this book were the little subplots about Hope and her friends. A lot happens with her and regarding the future of the seven. So, it was a decent read, and with the different pov's of characters, the story was quite entertaining enough to keep me hooked.

I received an arc from Netgalley for my honest opinion and review.

***4 Stars***

From the first time I met Adare and Grace and found out that their “mating” was more about convenience ~ well, life saving convenience ~ I wondered just what it would take to get these two to realize that they were meant to be together, and let me tell you it was a rocky yet enjoyable ride.

Adare and Grace. These two take determination to a whole new level. Adare is all kinds of protective alpha af male and loyal to fault. He is so focused on “The Job” that it blinds him to what is right in front of him. Grace is all about seeing what isn’t visible to the naked eye and living life on her own terms. So, when these two opposites collide sparks fly in every way possible. And those collisions tended to end in frustration. I swear these two and their lack of true communication was as enjoyable as it was frustrating. The chemistry was there and I liked how neither denied that part of their attraction and in the end, I was very happy that they finally realized that their mating was not a mistake nor one of convenience.

This book definitely pushes quite a few of the plot arc’s forward...and there are many, but I liked how the situation with the Lock & Key’s progressed. There was a smaller arc that I was very happy to see come to a head in this book, because it was seriously a long time coming, but even with that small one resolved, another one popped up that promises to cause a good amount of drama. As for the two unmated members of the Seven. They, of course have to be my ultimate fav’s, Garrett and Benny. There is a bit of a tease about who’s up next and who his mate will more than likely be (I gotta admit, I kind like how that happened), so now to practice patience until that book is released.,’

Absolutely fantastic read!!! This series is soooooooo freakin' gooooood!! Each book adds another layer to the overall story arc while still giving a side story of the couple falling for each other. But even that is all interconnected and I just love that. Ms. Zanetti is an amazing writer! I don't know how she keeps everything straight weaving such complicated, interesting and delicious characters and storylines into the overall story without a hitch. She makes it very easy for the reader to follow though which is awesome. This series intrigues and fascinates me so much. I love it!!!
From the start, I knew I was going to love Adare in this one. So alpha, sexy and bossy and so unused to having any kind of feelings. Until Grace. I've been looking forward to his and Grace's story so much and it was just perfect for them! It is exciting and sucked me in from the beginning and honestly still hasn't let me go because there is so much more to come. And I cannot wait!!!!!!

Grace and Adair's story is the 5 book in the arc of the Seven and the 12th in the Dark Protector series overall. If you have not read the other books in this series, I recommend beginning with Vampire's Faith and working your way up to Guardian's Grace to fully be able to follow this story line.

Although these two mated a few years ago, it was a business transaction between an immortal who doesn't believe in love or showing emotions after too many heartbreaks in his life and a woman who woke up from a coma to be thrown into a world of vampires, demons, fae and immortal bad guys called Kurjans that she wished she never had to know about. Feeling badly about taking away her choice in order to save her life, Adare lets Grace go her own way but always keeps tabs on her. Unfortunately since their mating was not traditional, she is now starting to see her health deteriorate as the mark fades. A bad decision puts her squarely back in the Highlander's line of sight and things are about to get interesting!

Adare gave her the illusion of freedom, but there hasn't been a moment of any day when he did not know her location. Now he can see that distance was a mistake and he is about to correct it ASAP! Despite her best intentions, Grace can't help but wish the sexy immortal did actually love her. When a blast from his past shows up, jealousy flares and of course she is not going to be a docile little thing standing by or hiding from a fight. The tension rises on all levels, and it's game on.

This story was more about the overall plot development centering around the Seven and their mission with a lot of action and lighter on the romantic aspects. But that is not say there were not hot, sexy or lighthearted moments because we get a healthy dose of those as well. I enjoyed the way Grace and Adare's relationship grew and it was great to see some progress toward the conclusion of the Seven's mission since there are only 2 members left that need to find their HEA! I am looking forward to Benny's story and hope that he is next in line to find his other half.

I am so happy we finally got Adare and Grace's story, I have been waiting for it forever. I loved it and was so not disappointed in their romance. This book was full of suspense and action, I had a hard time putting it down. This series just keeps getting better. I can't wait for the next book.

This story really didn't work for me. The worldbuilding was interesting but the pacing felt off – there was a sense of urgency to the plot, and yet it tended to drag in between the twists which made it frustrating to read.

But for me, the principal issue was the central relationship, which had a dynamic that I found controlling and verging on abusive. I realise that this is the whole alpha thing, but it still skirted the edges of abusive behaviour at times. Adare is of the view that it is his right and duty to control what Grace does, for her own good; Grace disagrees very strongly with this, and the only resolution we have to this argument is that Adare is stronger than Grace and can compel her. It's never really discussed after this scene - yes, they confess their love for each other, but how will future disagreements be resolved? As far as I can see... the same way. Which is spanking, but it's OK because she sort of likes it? I found this extremely disturbing to read.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the gifted copy, all thoughts are my own

When I started reading this I wasn't aware it was 12th in a series, that's my fault. While it can be read as a standalone it kind of felt like jumping on a moving roller coaster.

There's a lot of character and world development prior to this book so if you jump into this one first just know you may be missing some back story :-).

Guardian's Grace is action packed, steamy and fast paced.

Guardian’s Grace is everything I’d hoped it would be. We’re back in the land of the Realm, Adare is finally going to collect his mate, Grace, after marking and saving her life 5 years prior, and it’s a non-stop action-packed (and steamy) adventure. We see some old familiar friends, there’s exciting new intrigue, as well as the continued thread of will the worlds (as well as all enhanced humans) be saved? And Adare? Yummy! And Grace, smart and feisty. They make an excellent match.
It’s another exciting installment of Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors.

I am a big fan for Rebecca Zanetti. Anything she writes is amazing and worth reading. While I am a big fan of this series I do not believe that you should start reading on this book. It is better enjoyed from the beginning. I did enjoy Adare and Grace relationship. It was fun to watch it grow. I would definitely recommend this book as long as you’re caught up on the series.

Adare O’Garbhaill and Grace Cooper have been mated for 5 years. He saved her life then left. He doesn’t believe in love only duty. The relationship between then is complicated and full of snark. Love the interactions.

‘’I think it was Billy Crystal who said that women need a reason for sex and men just need a place.”

“I’m not a wayward toddler, you arrogant jackwad.” “More like an errant mate,”

Alpha Highlander,humor and hot chemistry.

I’m excited to read Benny’s book. It’s gonna be a trip!

This is my first Rebecca Zanetti book & I really liked it. Paranormal isn’t my usual go to but Adare & Grace had me hooked from the beginning. I will definitely go back and read the other books in the series:)

Vampire soldier Adare O’Cearbhaill never wanted a mate and as member of the seven it was an easy choice to live his life as a solitary being. The connection to his brothers by blood was all he needed, and it meant his inevitable death wouldn’t result in a grieving widow. But five years ago, he agreed to an unconventional mating to save the life of the sister of his best friend’s mate and through their joining he experienced a protectiveness that has been continually rebuffed.

Grace Cooper is hard-headed and fiercely independent. So, cowering to an outdated Neanderthal warrior who believes all women should be sheltered and protected, is so not her style. Grace never asked to be mated and her three years separated from the abrasive and over-bearing Adare have allowed some wiggle room to try and discover details of her attack that led to a two-year coma and then resulted in a loss of memory on her waking.

But Grace has been keeping secrets, and as the war ramps up against the Cyst and Kurjan forces and Adare prepares for the battel that will most likely cost him his life, constant attempts to capture Grace ensure this estranged and volatile couple will need to find some common ground. Friends who are enemies and enemies who may be potential allies create additional confusion and mistrust as matters of the heart are intertwined with basic survival.

As always, Ms Zanetti weaves an intricate web of secrets and lies by omission, independence versus team-work, fractured alliances and heightened emotions that rule everyone’s better judgement. Guardian’s Grace is a story of protecting one’s heart while seeking answers, and hoping you live to see another day when all indications are your time in this life is limited. For those familiar with the Dark Protector series, Adare and Grace have played an integral part in the last few books, but it is exciting to see them finally get their own story which has been long awaited.

Action, danger, angst and heartache are all in abundance throughout this exhilarating story, but it wouldn’t be complete without the rollercoaster ride to love that seems to be the norm for these dominant and possessive males who fight battles and wars with gusto and love with every breath that they take. Guardian’s Grace is another thrilling and captivating tale in Ms Zanetti’s paranormal world and I can’t get enough!
