I went to Costa Rica on my honeymoon and picked this up for another adventure... Exit Through the Jungle was a lighthearted contemporary romance with a rom com feel. I had hoped for a bit more.jungle, but I'll take the adventure I was given. I enjoyed the main characters and the writing style.
has been on my TBR list for several years now, and I just can't make myself get past the first chapter. Sorry! I'm sure someone will love this, but it wasn't for me.
This was a great quick summer read, a twist on the entitled big city gal and the bad small town boy.
It was light-heated and not too deep with its ridiculous situations and unbelievable but entertaining plot.
Great summer read in an interesting setting.
Tried reading this one and it just was not meant for me. This does not mean that it is not a good book, I just was not in the right place to be reading it and have decided to not try picking it up anytime in the near future.
It didn't take me long to fall for these characters. Crofton has such a talent for creating relatable characters full of contradiction in a way that just makes you root for them more. And the scenes of them together were steamy and filled with so much sexual tension. The way that Kai kept putting off being with Julie was hilarious, especially considering how riled up that would get her! I don't know if it is unique to being stuck at the jungle with someone for days at a time, but I love how they learned how to read each other so quickly. Their relationship seemed natural and had some really hilarious aspects to it considering how they first met at her kidnapping. I am so excited for book two, and I can't wait to see how Noah's story unfolds!
Received an e-arc from NetGalley. Thank you.
I tried to start reading this one, but couldn't get into it. The characters were a bit annoying, and I just couldn't trust them. I'm sure others will like this, but it just wasn't my thing.
This was a quick, fun read and I’ll be continuing the series. I enjoyed the rarer jungle setting and the sexual tension between the main characters. 3.5/5
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a copy of this ARC. I loved this contemporary romance! It was light hearted and kept me easily entertained throughout its entirety. This gave me major rom com vibes with Kai and Jolie, I mean when else would you end up in a jungle with a hot stranger?! I cannot wait for the second book in this series!
Okay- I need more now! This is the first book in the series and I loved this rom com book based on an adventure based vacation. So fun. Jolie and Kai are super fun together. Quick light and easy read! Great for a summer vacation.
I really loved this novel. It was super awesome. The characters are really sweet. It was a great romance. There were super sweet moments highly recommend.
I may be biased, but I freaking loved this book. It is meant to be fun, and not take itself too seriously. A madcap adventure rom-com, reminiscent of Romancing the Stone, but in book form.
I received a copy of this book to review from Netgallry. Thank you for the opportunity.
A fun and modern story with an interesting idea behind the story. The writing is good.
However, at times the MC was too entitled and unlikeable which drew the reader away from the story. The story gets a little wild and over the top which kinda of stretches the contemporary romance theme
On the whole, an OK read.
Was this seriously a romance novel I liked? So, when I read the synopsis of this book, I just knew I had to read it. I don’t read much romance but I like to read one in a while. The synopsis promises adventure, diversity, heart stopping romance and in addition to that there were many emotions!
Exit Through the Jungle is one of the best contemporary/rom-com's I've read in so long. It was adorable, endearing, and made me laugh out loud more than once. I loved the modern day, influencer type of story line, and it was so much fun to read! It's modern, addicting and it strikes a balance between quick witted banter and heart warming realness.
The writing is very accessible and easy to read. after reading a few pages, my kindle app showed that I need 4 hours to finish it so I finished it fairly quickly and I would be reading for an hour without realizing that. The book is not very lyrical, so there was not many quotes that I highlighted but at the same time, I prefer this for a contemporary story. I believe this book will be fairly successful when it comes out. I don’t have much to criticize, I liked the characters, the plot and the writing. If you are looking for a diverse, then this one is for you!
This is a fun romance book that's the perfect escapist beach read, You'll love the setting, characters, and the light on social media Croften sheds in the story.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Three Dimples Publishing for the advance copy.
Although this book has already been published, I have originally received this as an ARC. I usually am reading dark/thriller books so this cute romance book was a nice change.
Jodie, the protagonist, has a relatable job in this current world as an influencer/blogger. However, a lot of the things that happened in the book was too unreal/cheesy for me. (ex: getting lost in the jungle with a hot male with a chiseled body, encountering a jaguar, and overall getting away with lots of things that seemed too much).
If you enjoy cute romances, this might be the book for you!
Overall, I liked it as an escape from the current event going around me in the real world!

** Thank you to Netgalley, Three Dimples Publishing, and of course, Alicia Crofton, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I LOVE these types of rom-com reads for the summer so this book came at a perfect time for me. I finished it in one sitting! Who doesn’t love Costa Rica for a setting? I finished this book in one day! :)
Exit is part love story, but more adventure - which I loved. It provided the main core theme of finding yourself, which is one of my favorites. Our main character is Jolie, a stubborn, creative, and hard worker - and can I say, incredibly likable for the main character. Her goal is to bring her business to fruition, a deal she makes with her dad - or she needs to return and work for him. We also have Kai, a worrier, who is the carrier of his family. He deals with their burdens as if they are his own. When these two come together, we get a delightful rom-com you won’t be able to put down.
Crofton is an excellent writer as well. I enjoyed her plot and her dialogue was perfectly written. The Characters are well represented too, and you find them being two you root for! As this is a new series, I look forward to what is next and how we see these novels mesh!

Social Media Influencer Jolie Boulard is living the good life - in front of the camera. In actuality her personal brand is struggling, sponsors are dropping her without warning and she's completely broke. In a desperate attempt to rebrand she decides to become vegan and books herself a retreat in Costa Rica. Things are going well until on a shopping trip she accidentally witnesses a crime and is thrown into a van. Kidnapped and taped to a chair she finds herself at the mercy of the three men. But not all of the men seem to be happy about the situation and one in particular seems sympathetic to her plight. Somehow she manages to get him to agree to help her and they find themselves on the run and lost in the jungles of Costa Rica.

I know it seems like I just told y'all about the whole dang book, but in reality that is just the first couple chapters! There is so much going on, blackmail, organized crime, forbidden romance, eco conservation and more. I really loved the dual narration in this book, it added so much dimension to the story and to the characters.

This would make an amazing movie. Definitely consider checking this one!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review, all opinions are my own.
This book was super good. It was super original and I flew through it. It didn't feel like anything I've read in the past. Can't wait to read more from the author!!
I requested this title because the description reminded me of Romancing the Stone and I loved that movie when I was a kid. It did not disappoint me, Exit Through the Jungle was such a fun read! I adored Kai, he was such a lovable hero and even though him and his brothers technically kidnapped Jolie you really could not hold that against him. I loved Jolie's growth throughout the book, seeing her grow from a woman who became vegan just to stay relevant on Instagram to working for a non-profit was wonderful! Can't wait to see what happens in book 2!
How relatable is this character? On social media she's perfect, in real life, there are damages and issues and REAL LIFE.
Throw a jungle and a man into the mix and you've got an exciting, read in a day book.
There's more to come as there is book 1 in the series!
Can't wait for more
