Great debut novel. The book is very entertaining, well written, and enjoyable. I really enjoyed this first book in what is the Saphire Falles series. Looing forward to seeing where the rest of the series goes.
This was a cute story of two high school sweethearts that broke up and went their separate ways. Some of this had to with some of Jay's insecurities, and it left Leyna devastated. Both of them have family expectations of taking over the family businesses. They are also expected to join a partnership with each other as part of the deal.
This forces them both into close proximity whether they wanted to or not. The closeness reminds them of how much they enjoyed each other before and their connection. You also have family dynamics at play here, good and bad.
I enjoyed the story, though it is more of a clean behind the story romance which hasn't been working for me lately in terms of the distraction I need.
Forever With You begins the new Sapphire Springs series with a romance that doesn’t begin all that happily for Leyna or Jay, not in a way that counts for them because once upon a time – almost two decades ago – they were sweethearts with a future to plan, until Jay up and left town, left Leyna without a word of explanation. Now Jay is back, at first to help his aging grandfather with the family winery but then life gets interesting… and nothing is exactly how it seems on the surface.
Until I got into Forever With You it was very easy to see Jay as the villain in this romance. After all, he had it all, the woman, the winery, and then to go off to “find himself”… yeah, jerk move. Yet. Jay had reasons that run deep, and if the reader gives him a chance will show exactly why he felt he had to leave everything and everyone behind on that personal journey. Was it the right thing to do? I don’t really know, it didn’t seem like it at first but eventually as Leyna and Jay reconnect I began to lean toward a positive feeling toward Jay’s decision back then.
Unfortunately, there are reasons for Jay’s actions that might help you understand why — but they would definitely be spoilers, and that’s not something I’m comfortable with revealing in a review. Right or wrong, Jay had reasons that were important to him, and really that has to factor in when deciding if Jay deserved Leyna’s hatred all these years.
I loved Leyna from the start. She has so much on her plate, and some of those plates are being juggled in the air. Her anger, actual hatred of Jay plays a major part at the beginning of their story. She believed they had a future. For him to just up and leave, without explanation was unforgivable to her. Yet, the love for this man is still buried deep within her heart, and slowly, steadily it’s finding the way to the surface once again… but can she trust him again?
There are emotions in this story, lies, betrayal, misdirection, surprises, and two people finding a way back to what they once had – love and trust for each other. It is not an easy journey, but it is one that drew me in and kept me focused on their attempt to fix the past and move forward. Forever With You started the series with a believable tale – I cannot wait to see what comes next in the series with the next book due out in June of 2021.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Leyna Milan is trying to carry on her grandfather’s legacy by running her family’s restaurant. To open a second location, she must enter in a business agreement with the Wynter winery and open her restaurant on their property. Everything seems to be going according to plan until Jay Wynter walks into a board meeting. What is the man who broke her heart doing back in Sapphire Springs?
Jay Wynter is home to help his grandfather after he falls ill. He has been abroad trying to forget his first and only love and when he sees her sitting in his family’s boardroom, he is not sure he should have returned home. When he is told he will take over the winery when his grandfather retires, he wonders if he is truly up for the task.
With both their family’s legacies on the line, Leyna and Jay must work together to promote both businesses while trying to heal old wounds. When they can not keep their feelings for each other aside any longer, they must decide if they can open their hearts and heal old wounds.
What a fabulous start to a new series by Barb Curtis. The two main characters were written so beautifully and supporting characters were introduced to us as well, making us wonder who the next book in the series will be about. I loved the small-town atmosphere, the tight family ties, and the bonds the characters have with each other. I laughed, I cried, and I was cheering for Jay and Leyna right from the start. Thank you so much to the author Barb Curtis, Forever, (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.
In Barb Curtis’ debut book and the first in the Sapphire Springs series, we are introduced to Leyna and Jay (Jason) and they have a history. Small towns have their own culture and Sapphire Springs does not disappoint; it is fun to get to know the characters. This story is based on a local winery, and the author goes deeper into the making of wines, a great add to the story.
For Leyna and Jay to get their second chance they need to work through obstacles and communicate. Both have insecurities and confidence issues stemming from their past, but the chemistry is still there. Even though they were apart for a significant amount of time, both grew intellectually and emotionally and maybe their teens just was not their time.
As we get to know the secondary characters, they are there to distract and create a mystery to be solved. Looking forward to more from this series, there are some unfinished tales to be told. Wonder who is next?
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the advanced copy for me to review.
Added 11/10/2020: I upped my rating to 5 stars. I did a re-read as I could not stop thinking about this book.
This was this author's debut novel and she knocked it out of the park! Forever with You is a small town, second chance at love romance. It takes place mostly at a vinyard, which I just loved. There was just enough grape/vinyard information to let you know some of the background without being overwhelming.
The renewed relationship between Jay and Leyna hit just the right chord with me. Having Jay leave her before, there needed to be some significant resistance on Leyna's part in order to make it feel realistic and the author struck a good balance between that and eventual forgiveness.
There were enough secondary characters to fill out the story and help develop the characterization of Jay and Leyna. The crooked guys in the book were not overly obvious.
Great job on a first novel! I can't wait for the next one!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. All thoughts are my own.
This was a heartwarming, cheerful, and fun debut about a second chance romance. Jay left his family winery and his high school sweetheart to jet across the globe and secure a name for himself in the winery business, independent of his family name. Now he’s back, taking the helm of his family winery. His childhood sweetheart Leyna was crushed when he left and time has not healed her wounds. As the pair run into each other again and again in their small town, a friendship begins to blossom and old wounds are healed.

I loved the lush descriptions of the winery and food. The characters were lovely and the character development throughout the book excellent. I loved this small town and the cast of characters! This is the first in a series and I’m looking forward to returning to Sapphire Springs and the characters. This was charming, fresh, and a delight to read! My thanks to @readforeverpub for sending a review copy my way!
This debut book in the Sapphire Springs series was just like the grapes growing in the Wynter Estates vineyards. There were so many circumstances that could affect the final decision for Jay on whether he would stay or take the job in Burgundy, France. It was a well planned story that kept me guessing on how it would all turn out in the end. It was heartfelt, full of love, angst, mystery, and surprises and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and getting to know Jay, Leyna, Stefan, and even Jay's mother, Danielle. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
As a newbie romance reader, I was excited to have the opportunity to read Forever With You, the debut book by Barb Curtis.
Forever With You is a romance set in small town New York, where one-time high school sweethearts are reunited years later and sparks fly to rekindle the flame.
Taking place years after Jay leaves Leyna to go to France to study at their vineyards, Jay returns to small town Sapphire Springs to find Leyna has also returned after her grandfather's death. Can they find love again and make it last?
Their chemistry is palpable. The storyline kept the pages turning. The characters were well-written ( my favorite was grandfather Stefan).
The author nicely shows human frailties, forgiveness, redemption and the struggles within family relationships .
Book 2 debuts in 2021: stop on by Sapphire Springs!
Thank you to the author, netgalley and Forever ( Grand Central Publishing) for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this second chance small town romance. It was food and wine filled so be ready! High School sweethearts come back to their town to help their grandfathers. Leyna has been back for a year to run the restaurant and has her friends. Jay comes back to help at the winery once his grandfather is sick. It took a bit to get into this one as they had chemistry but it wasn't all there. I would have liked to see a might more of them. It was a slow burn with closed door.
Overall, for a debut it was a super cute storyline and can't wait to come back to this series and town! Emily is next I hope!!

Comforting, summery, and sweet!
Forever with You is a lighthearted, second-chance romance featuring the hardworking, ruggedly handsome vintner Jay who broke his high school girlfriends heart when he left without a trace, and the spirited, loyal, restaurateur Layna who’s too busy keeping her family’s legacy afloat to open herself up for more heartache from the man who shattered her heart eighteen years ago.
The writing is fluid and warm. The characters are lovable, kind, and empathetic. And the plot is an uplifting, engaging tale about life, love, family, friendship, forgiveness, collaboration, healing, self-discovery, happiness, success, new beginnings, and a sliver of mystery.
Overall, Forever with You is a heartwarming, breezy, delightful tale by Curtis that has characters you can’t help but root for and a happy-ever-after ending that leaves you smiling, satisfied, and quickly adding Only You (Sapphire Springs #2) to the top of your TBR list for 2021.
What a dynamic debut novel Forever with You is.
Second chance romances are fun especially where there is such sizzling chemistry that had laid dormant that has now been reawoken.
Small town Sapphire Springs is a lovely small town with all the right feels to make you want to stay.
The climate is perfect for grape growing and the wine is tasty.
It hasn't always been easy though, the climate can be temperamental and it's often a game of waiting to see if the crop will make it.
Raised by his grandfather Jay Wynter wants to show the world he is successful on his own not by hanging onto his grandfather's coat tails. He wants to
start his own career from scratch.
Second chances at love don't always come around so when he gets called up as the successor at Wynter Estate he must return to Sapphire Springs to face everyone including his ex-girlfriend from high school.
This book is incredible and I loved the well developed characters and
seeing the chemistry take off between Jay and Leyna.
I can not wait to read the next book in the Sapphire Spring series.
Expected publication: November 10th 2020 by Forever

I am a big fan of second chance romance because I went through it! Lol, I mean not everyone have the opportunity to rekindle past romance and to have your happily every after. This book have that feel good romance but not cheesy. This is charming and delightful. The characters are well developed and the plot is truly fascinating. Love is indeed very special. Highly recommend!
This book is delightful! It is romantic, sweet, heartwarming, pulls at your heart strings, and much more! Whenever I picked up “Forever With You”, I was whisked away to the small town of “Sapphire Springs”, and went on an emotional journey with this second-chance romance story!
This is Ms. Curtis’ debut novel, and the first in her “Sapphire Springs” series, and I hope to read many more books by her! She truly knows how to bring a story to life, and her characters all feel like such incredible people; they have hopes, aspirations, and dreams, as well as flaws, and all aspects are so incredibly written. I so hope we see many of these characters in future novels, and I am even more excited after finding out who the next book will focus on!
(Possible Spoilers!)
I found myself rooting for Leyna and Jay to get back together from the start. Their chemistry is palpable, and it is so clear they are meant for one another. They must decide between listening to the hurt, doubts, and fears, or if they will listen to their hearts instead. What ensues is so sweet, heart-wrenching, moving, and simply beautiful.
If you enjoy contemporary romance and / or small-town romance, I highly recommend this book! I could not wait to see how everything worked out, and there were quite a few twists and turns that I was absolutely not expecting AT ALL!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC of this book, and to Forever for sending me a physical copy as well, I so enjoyed it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Sweet story about second chances. Set in wine country. Well written, enjoyable read. Will be looking for more from this author.
This book was adorable. I love second chance romance when it's done well and that was the case here. Leyna and Jay were complex characters as was their past AND their future, but their story tugged at my heartstrings and I cannot wait to continue with what seems like it'll be a series.
If you're looking for feel-good, small-town contemporary romance, keep an eye on this author!!!
This story was cute, Leyna was fierce fighter for what and who she loved. She just was also a stubborn hard headed person as well she really was a fun character to. Jay was such a a broken spirit but why he didn't live in the pain the pain was very much part of his life. I did not like Cass, Mark or Danielle and I thought we all could be more like Stefan willing to love unconditionally. I loved Emily I so want to read her story and I hope she gets the man of her dreams. She was such a good friend. There is a little bit of a twist to this story which kind of keeps you wondering what was going to happen next. Over all this book was such sweet love story.

Barb Curtis did an amazing job with her debut novel, Forever With You. This is a story of small town high school sweethearts who have a 2nd chance at love after both returning home to Sapphire Springs after many years away.
Leyna has returned to town after the passing of her grandfather to keep his wishes alive in running the family restaurant and opening a 2nd location on his best friends vineyard. All this seems possible until her high school ex, Jay reappears. Jay and Leyna’s grandfathers were best friends. Jays grandfather is ailing and has summoned him back to town to help with the Wynter Estate and Vineyard. Can the two of them work together to bring their grandfathers visions alive and heal old wounds?
This was the perfect book I needed right now! I absolutely loved the story, the challenges of working through past hurts and giving people a second chance. There was also a lot of though that went in to obstacles the characters faced including inheritances and financial troubles.
I loved meeting these characters and charming town and look forward to the next installment.
Forever with You is the start of a new romance series by debut author Barb Curtis. A small town romance with deep family roots and second chances.
Jay Wynter and Leyna Milan were high school sweethearts. When Jay shattered her heart, Leyna never really recovered her heart. Fast-forward, she in works to open a new restaurant of the Wynter Estate but the last thing she expected was Jay to come home after 18 years and have to work with him. Jay left Leyna hating him rather than holding a torch for him because he felt unworthy of her love and cut ties before she was the one to leave him. As they work together and get reacquainted he has to decide if he can settle down in their hometown, and she has to decide if she can trust him to not break her heart again.
This was a charming story. While I did enjoy it, I sadly didn't love it. My favorite character was Leyna, she was juggling a lot but still managed to keep it all together. I also really enjoyed her best friend Emily and her brother Rob. Jay I didn't very much care for. Yes he could be sweet and delightful when he and Leyna were dating but was very insecure and was a bit of a coward running from his problems. Also, Leyna and Jay had some great sexual tension and build up moments that unfortunately resulted in off page sex scenes. I actually think this romance would have benefits from some on page sex to liven up the story a bit.
Overall, Forever with you was a pleasant start to a new series. It was a little monotone for me but I can see readers looking for a low drama, low steam romance really enjoying it.
Leyna and Mark's second chance romance was a great kick off to the Sapphire Springs series from Barb Curtis.
I really liked that they were characters in their mid to late 30's. They were both at places in their lives that were more relatable for me. It was easy to see from the beginning that the spark was still alive between them even after years apart and a difficult ending. I do wish there had been a little more leading up to their reconciliation. For as difficult as their break up was for Leyna it seemed like she fell back into the relationship a little easily. I do think, though, the author did a nice job with balancing the drama and romance. Neither felt forced or unnatural.
I am also looking forward to reading the stories of all the different characters that were introduced. There were some really interesting plots set up!
