This is a story about broken hearts that need to put their pasts to rest. Anna and Noah both have tragedy and betrayal in their pasts that is preventing them from moving forward. This story is very intense and is full of so much emotion. I really loved the storytelling. I was pulled into the story effortlessly. These are characters that I just wanted to hug to my chest. That cliffhanger really has me hanging on for the next book in this duet. If you love slow-burn romance with plenty of feels then this book is perfect for you!
Noah and Anna are both left with scars from their difficult pasts. They meet each other whilst working through their struggles, and from that moment on their spark they share sends the story in motion.
An enjoyable read with intriguing characters and a storyline that has you rooting for the characters as it progresses.
Anna meets Noah after his brother Asher tries his charm on her.
She's working in a bar and as a yoga instructor, trying to keep busy from the hurt of losing Kyle 7 years ago.
He's a police officer with his own demons to fight his ex just left with no explanation.
Anna and Noah both suffered a great love loss in the past and they are having a hard time overcoming and moving on, but together they learn to give that second to love and leave the past and pain behind. It is a good novel for me, it did not stand out for me and I will definitely read the sequel. I wish I had focused more on music, it was kind of left in the side.
4 1/2 Stars for these two broken hearts!
I loved Noah and Anna's story! Anna's fiancé died seven years ago while Noah's wife left him five years ago and neither one of them can move on. I loved how Noah and Anna are so opposite but they still have this intense attraction toward one another. And the story involves their families ... Noah is very close with all his brothers and Anna who talks about her family but never sees them.
Even though this is a heartbreaking story of lost loves, it made me laugh out loud. Where Anna sets up her two friends - who were once lovers - to meet again and she makes popcorn for the show that they are about to give ... still has me chuckling!
This book ends in a cliff-hanger ... and what a doozie! I can't wait the for the next book to see where Noah and Anna's story goes. I also sure hope that Noah's brothers all get their own stories because I know they all have a story to be told.

This is the first book that I have ready by this author and OMG! I was not expecting that.
This book is a slow burn and follows Noah and Anna coming together and healing one another with the ghosts of there past. Once they got together it was and even more enjoyable read. I am dying to know how the second one is going to end.
Ok cliffhanger warning and I say this because I really need the next book, I loved this so much I need the next book seriously! It’s an emotional read full of heartbreak , but hope most importantly, my favourite meddling families and just a lovely story overall, I’m willing for a HEA , come on book 2 !
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
I received an eARC of The Ghost of You by Tori Fox from Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
5 Stars! Two broken hearts unite in this steamy, angsty slow burn romance. The Ghost of You is the first book in the Broken Lyrics Duet. You won't be able to put it down and it will leave you longing for book two!
Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing and Tori Fox fodt gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
If you’re in the mood for a steamy neighbors, friends to lovers romance, look no further! This is the first book in a new series but Tori Fox and also my first book by this author. If somebody asked me for a solid romance writer who knew how to intertwine real-life problems with chemistry to make a very readable book! This was a quick read with a twist at the end leaving you wanting to pick up book number two!
There were times I got into the book and really loved the chemistry between Anna and Noah and there were times where I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. There were a few moments that felt forced and very unrealistic. There is no way a thirty something your old would be saying some of those things... well at least I hope not. To each their own, though, right?
There is definitely an audience for this style of romance, I’m just not personally super into the insta-love.
This is the first book I've read from Tori Fox and I was blown away by this story. It was an emotional read that took me on a rollercoaster of a ride. I loved the characters and the story. I'll definitely be reading more.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
THE GHOST OF YOU was a wonderful surprise for me. This is the first book I have read by Tori Fox and I’m so glad I decided to give it a try, because this author knows how to weave a good story. The characters are complex and interesting and I was immediately drawn into their world.
Noah is a broody cop with ghosts from his past that has him stuck just going through the motions of his life. He lives next door to Anna, who also has lots of baggage from her past.
Noah and Anna bring out the best in each other as they slowly get to know each other and let down their guard. Sparks fly whenever these two are together, but they are careful with their hearts and it takes them a while for them to let go. They both have issues from their past they need to work through before they can move forward. Anna has just been surviving and Noah brings her back to life. They are two lost souls connecting and bonding and helping each other learn to enjoy life again.
I enjoyed all of Noah and Anna’s interactions, even though in the beginning, they were awkward together. This is a beautiful story and I thoroughly enjoyed Noah and Anna’s story. The only downside is it ends with a cliffhanger and I have to wait to find out what happens next. I enjoyed all the antics of Noah’s family, especially his five brothers. They are funny, add another dimension to the story and I hope there will be future books written about all of them. I enjoyed this intriguing story from start to finish.
It's always a delight to find a new-to-me author that I can connect with and Tori Fox has been added to my list of authors to keep an eye on!
I thoroughly love stories where the characters have pasts that's still impacting them years later. As is the case for Noah and Anna, two neighbors that are basically going through the day to day motions. There's no denying the attraction between them, but there's also no denying the walls they both put up when it comes to relationships. I love that Noah is a cop and a sexy one at that. His brothers are an added bonus to the story and I hope (crosses my fingers) that the author considers a story for them in the future. I easily connected with Noah's character and to me he just had that personality that you couldn't help but love, including in the bedroom. Noah knows the right words to say, for sure! Anna was a little more guarded to me, and it took some time for me to make that connection. The ending though, did make me feel differently about her and I'm glad because with the story having a cliffhanger ending, I didn't want to have doubts about her going into book two.
I really wanted to give The Ghost of You five stars, and I struggled hard with this decision, but there were a few things in the beginning that kind of contradicted itself. Overall, I enjoyed the angst and how the author would toss in a bit of humor just to keep the story flowing. Tori Fox knows how to keep the reader focused and glued to the pages. If you're a fan of slow burn romances, you should definitely give this one a try!
It was a very a very interesting story. Both main characters have a lot of past heartache to heal. The are both very likeable characters and the support teams are also quite enjoyable! Those brothers are something else. It ended on a cliffhanger that I did not see coming.
This was an emotional story in which both main characters are trying to escape the ghosts of their past. The overall tone of the book is quite melancholy but there are some spots of humor and amazingly done intimate scenes towards the end.
Noah is the sexy hot cop that lives next door to Anna. Attraction pulls them to each other but their tragic pasts keep them apart. I enjoyed their dance of push and pull, wavering between giving into their lust for each other and yet not wanting to open their hearts to love again. Sometimes books like this walk a fine line when one of the chracters have a previous love interest. For me, while I want to appreciate the heartache and loss the character experiences, I also want to feel like the present love interest is not second place. I felt like this book walked the edge on this but hopefully in book 2 it will be very clear that they are the greatest loves of each other's lives.
The sexual attraction was intense and I loved the steamy scenes in this book. Noah is a very sweet guy with a good guy persona. So it's always a bit hot when men like that talk dirty in the bedroom. It's like you don't see it coming. I also loved the secondary characters that just add that extra layer of fun and humor to the story including Noah's brothers and Anna's gay best friend. This does end on a bit of a cliche cliffhanger but the next book will be releasing next month so you don't have to wait that long.

This was the first time reading this author and I enjoyed it. This book had great characters and an interesting storyline. I am a bit torn though as there were a few areas that it didn't flow as well as I had hoped it would.
The story starts out great, I found myself laughing at the first scene with Noah and his banter with his partner. Those moments stayed through the first portion of the book. However, it seemed to lose some of its luster after that for a portion of the book. the focus of the story came back towards the end. I wanted to know more about Anna and her backstory, especially in light of a major plot twist towards the end. Even though the story didn't flow as well as I had wanted it to in portions of the book, it still kept me reading which shows that this author is skilled. I will be looking to see what happens next and how this story ends.
Off-topic, this cover is gorgeous.
I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and so enjoyable. I couldn’t put it down! This is the first book in the Broken Lyrics Duet and I can’t wait to read the next book as I want to know what happens to all of the characters. Can two people that have been so broken hearted and stuck in the past, come back to life and love again?
Anna and Noah are neighbours, but they only really know each other by sight. Even though Anna has admired him from afar, since she moved in just over a year ago.
Anna moved to Asheville to be nearer to her best friend Seraphina. Who owns a yoga studio where Anna works along with two other jobs she holds down in the evenings.
One particular night when Anna is working at “The Beer Garden” she gets hit on by a young drunk trying to kiss her. Noah her neighbour comes over to rescue her from the drunk. It turn out to be Noah’s youngest’s brother, they are out celebrating his 21st Birthday. Which now meant he’s actually drinking legally so Noah won’t have to arrest him as he is a cop.
Noah introduces Anna to another of his brothers, who is just about to opened up a recording studio. He invites her to the opening night and becomes shocked to find out that his brother knows exactly who she. He’s a big fan of her music and lyrics. He invites her back again later in the week to meet a friend of his and to have a bit of a jam session.
When Anna goes back to the recording studio it makes her realise how much she has missed playing and writing music. For the last seven years she has virtually stopped playing and only writing the odd bit of music on her own. After her first session she feels a kind of hope again.
All the while Anna and Noah are slowly becoming friends, they know that they have a connection but they both keep resisting each other. Are they going to get over their doubts and concerns? Will they both help each other to move forward?
This is a much shorter review than what I normally write and not as in-depth either. As the Autor Tori Fox has asked that reviewers don’t give everything away. So if you want to know everything in detail you’ll just have to get this book. You won’t regret it as its so enjoyable.
The Ghost of You by Tori Fox a five-star read that will fix you. This is number one in the Broken Lyrics Duet and number two can’t come soon enough!!! Be prepared this will make you feel the physical ache the characters are going through when you read Noah and Anna’s stories. From the first page I was enthralled and adored the story, it wasn’t all drama and pain though there are some funny and quirky moments as well, it’s a great story and will definitely leave you wanting more.
This book was provided by the author through The Next Step PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Tori Fox and The Next Step PR!
The Ghost of You is the first book in the Broken Lyrics Duet and tells the story of Anna and Noah.
This is the second series I’ve read/started by Tori Fox and I think this one is my favourite one so far. I really wanted to know what was going to happen to Anna and Noah in The Ghost of You, because their story isn’t your average Romance story. Anna and Noah have both been through a lot and finding love again isn’t something they think they’re capable of.
After finishing the first chapter of The Ghost of You, I knew that I was going to love this book. Anna and Noah are just so fun to read about because I cannot stop smiling when I’m reading about them. You just know that they are made for each other even though they don’t realise it yet. Anna and Noah fit so well together because they’re different but in a good way. I loved reading about them and Noah’s nickname for Anna is just so adorable!
I did see the plot twist coming at the end of the book, but that didn’t make it easier to read about. I’m also still recovering from the ending of The Ghost of You. I’m kinda angry and Tori Fox for ending her book like that… The Ghost of You was such an amazing book and I really need the sequel, The Fate of Us!
I loved the first book of Noah and Anna's story. These two are so drawn to each other that it seems impossible for them to fight it. They have both been hurt by the people they loved. Anna her fiance, Noah his wife and have been alone for years afraid to love again. Anna finally goes home after seven years and finds what was hidden from her all that time she runs...
She promised Noah she wouldn't run like his ex wife did and now he's heartbroken. But with two people meant to be together as these two are they have to get their happily ever after, right?
I had a hard time focusing on anything but finding out what happened next. My main complaint is that this book is a part 1 instead of a full book i hate when you have to wait for the next part of the story. But part 1 was very well written and I will be looking forward to part 2.
I love a nice slow burn and this book has it in spades. Noah and Anna are both nursing broken hearts and fighting ghosts from their pasts. Both barely living, afraid to let themselves love again. This story is beautiful and I loved reading it. The slow burn, angsty relationship build up was sizzling. Once these two gave into their feelings, I thought they would set my kindle on fire. I loved Noah and Anna along with all the side characters. This was such an enjoyable read right up until that jaw dropping ending. I need the next book now!! You need to read this book.
