The third book in the series and my favorite so far !! I love the stories, I love the characters , and I love the writing ! It’s so easy to get drawn in to the world of magic with witches and Jinni’s! I believe it can be read as a stand alone but if you read all three it would add so much more depth and connection .
.
I’m this book we learned more about Sidra , A Jinni that being hunted by her brother in law who’s set on avenging his brothers murder. We learned more about Sidra story and how it shaped her life . And yes Yvette and Elena are back ! I hope this is not the end , because now we met a new lay friend and we need her story!!

Listen the cover of this book is gorgeous and who ever created them is seriously talented and gifted 😍. I love that this story has some action throughout and I need some of that life changing perfume.
I absolutely love this book. Thank you to net galley for allowing me to read this book. It was a book I could put down.
With the telling of Sidra’s life and love, our tale of three supernatural friends comes full circle.
I have to say I did not see this coming with the first book. It concentrated almost exclusively on Elena with Sidra and Yvette barely side characters. But I’m delighted to have seen them all bond through the adventures that keep them entwined.
This book releases January 12. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars
I love a good witchy story.
They’re atmospheric and beautiful, and this was no different.
I got swept up in the story and the magic. It was all so enchanting.
After reading this, to my surprise, I found out this was the third book in a series. I think it stood on its own, but I look forward to reading the other two books.
This book is the third in a series and while you could follow the story without having read the previous two, it would hinder the depth of understanding of the plot and the characters.
I have read the first book, the Vine Witch, and absolutely loved it – one of my favourite books last year, but I did not read the second book so some of the interactions mentioned and the characters were unknown to me.
This is the story of Sidra – a jinni, Yvette – a Fee and Elena – a vine witch, and their attempt to help Sidra escape her brother in law, a very powerful and vengeful jinn.
The book is beautiful written and the plot well developed. The characters are likable, but I personally would have liked the book to be a bit more detailed and longer for more depth.
When I requested and started this book, I wasn't aware it was part of a series. The 3rd book in a series. The book claims it could be read as a stand alone, but I was lost not having read the previous 2 books. It has a really interesting premise and the writing style is great, but without out thw background information it was a miss for me.
I will definitely give it another shot after I get around to reading the other books in the series.
As a whole, I really love this series. It is a true comfort read.
On its own, this one was my least favorite of the three books. The story line didn't impress me, and I'm not that crazy about Sidra.
I was happy to see the three women back together. I do love a good female friendship in books.
A spectacular end to The Vine Witch trilogy! Luanne Smith’s writing is just beautiful. I will admit I read the first two books a little while ago, so I didn’t remember much... but honestly the story was able to stand alone!! Great book and great cover !!
This was a fun ending to a fun series. It tied nicely together with the first two books. This book looks more at Sidra, whose broken heart is being repaired by her making friends and forgiving the sorcerer who she thinks accidently killed her husband. The world building of the jinni is very interesting.
After reading all three of these books, I could never warm up to Yvette, who at least isn't in this one as much as the last one.

The Conjurer is the third book in Luanne G Smith's Vine Witch Series. Each of the books in the series is focussed on one magical woman, Elena, Yvette , and in this instalment we get Sidra's story. Sidra is a jinni who we first met in a prison in one of the earlier books, where we learned that she was accused of murdering her husband. Though she managed to escape, she is not going to rest until she can prove she is innocent of killing the man she loved, even if it means facing his brother Jamra, the jinni who imprisoned her in the first place. With Elena and Yvette to help her, she may be able to find out the truth of what really happened to her husband and free herself for good.
Once again the world building and magic system is top notch, the concept of scent as a means of magic and using perfume as a spell works very well and is very cleverly utilised. The writer's skill at describing the exotic location, its sights sounds and scents helps to transport the reader to another world.
This book could be read as a stand alone, though readers of the previous books will definitely enjoy it more as it weaves together elements from the previous books to create a very satisfactory finale.
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.
Admittedly, I've not read the first two books in the series so I was quite lost in the plot but the book was still enjoyable. It does make me want to read the others.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. I'll be posting my review on Goodreads and Amazon
I still don‘t know if it‘s a 3,5 star or a 4 star...
I enjoyed very much the writing style as much as I did with the first two books, Luanne Smith has a unique way of describing the setting (she is definitely talented in conveying the smells and the atmosphere they create) that makes you feel like you‘re really there.
I never read about a book with a jinn as the main character so this was an original experience for me. I like the fact that the author still used the two characters of the previous book, particularly Elena because she‘s my favorite of the trilogy.
Overall I liked the plot, though I have to point out that the plot twist about Sidra‘s husband being alive was a predictable one and I‘m not very convinced that all the revelation about the plan he devised and the way it went wrong makes completely sense.
The vine witch is still my favorite of the trilogy but I‘m very happy I read this series, I loved its main female characters and I hope Luanne Smith writes again because I would be interested in reading something else from this author!
This book was received as an ARC from 47North in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
From when I first picked up the book, I felt a tingle jolt go through my body and I could not figure out what it was from but after I finished this book, the answer became very clear. I was glued to this book by no choice and glad to have read on as long as I did. Just when I had the book figured out, the story took a whole left turn and my heart fluttered so fast that the tingling feeling returned. The voyage Sidra took with her friends all with her brother in law on her tail awaiting to end her life in revenge for his brother just made my jaw drop and my heart speed so fast that I almost had to take a break and recover. I know this book will be a hit with our community and can't wait to hear their opinions.
We will consider adding this title to our Adult Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Fantasy
Sidra, a jinn (genie) is a creature born of fire and air. She hides inside her jasmine-scented bottle dispirited and suffering melancholy but temporarily free from her pursuer. Yvette, the fairy, (from the series book 2, The Gamorist) pulls her from her bottle and takes her to see the fairy king Oberon. He expels both Sidra and Yvette from his kingdom, sending them back to a French village in the realm where they once lived forcing Sidra to face her problems. Sidra believes her spells and the village's perfumes can help keep Jamra from finding them.
Sidra's grief began when her husband Hariq disappeared. Accused of murdering him and imprisoned, Sidra managed to escape by hiding in the fairy realm. Hariq's family and her family were enemies. Yet the two fell in love despite their families' hatred and hid their relationship from their families. She didn't kill Hariq and doesn't know what happened to him. Hariq's brother Jamra wants Sidra destroyed not only because she killed his brother but because he also believes she has an object he wants. Now that Sidra is back in her world, she is determined to find out what happened.
Sidra's friend Elena (book 1, The Vine Witch) is working at her and her new husband's vineyard where an unusual stray dog has been hanging around. Jamra arrives and insists Elena take him to Sidra. She tries to mislead him, but he is insistent. He puts her husband into a fevered state and swears he will die if Elena doesn't take him to Sidra.
With jinn, fairies, and witches involved, the reader has to expect sorcery and unexpected events and circumstances. Author Luanne G. Smith does a great job of sharing the characters' love, friendship, and grief with the reader while the plot's unexpected twists increase the danger, leaving the reader wondering if the three women can outwit the powerful and evil jinn Jamra.
I didn't realize this was the third in a series of books. As I hadn't read the prior titles in this series, I was pretty lost in starting this one. Seems to be a cute series though.
Not as strong as the first two books in the trilogy and I felt that it would benefit from a recap at the start. Overall I enjoyed it, although I didn't feel the need to finish it in one go.

The Conjurer is the third book in the Vine Witch series. If you haven't previously read The Vine Witch and The Glamourist, I would suggest reading them so that you don't miss out on the backstory and get more time with the characters.
The Conjurer picks up Sidra's storyline, having been wrongfully accused of murdering her husband, pursued by her brother-in-law, and trying to prove her innocence by finding out what really happened. Once again, it seems that Sidra and Yvette's fates are tied together throughout this story. When Jamra, Sidra's brother-in-law, forces Elena to help him find Sidra, the trio winds up together again. But will they be able to each claim their destiny and defeat the evil that has been pursuing them?
I have really enjoyed this series. Luanne G. Smith does a wonderful job with her descriptions, not just of the characters and the magic, but she has mastered the art of making you feel like you have been traveling in the book. I must say that I am dying to go to France after reading these books. She also does a great job of giving each of the magical trio their turn in the spotlight without overshadowing the others. While Sidra is by far the most mysterious character, her mysteries don't outweigh Elena or Yvette. I look forward to reading more by Smith, and maybe another installment of this series.
First, I didn't know that this is a series and so I couldn't grasp some things quite a bit, but now I am surely planning on reading its first two books in the series, this one was done well, another first from this author, a spellbinding book filled with magic. My only mistake wasn't reading the first two, why haven't I heard of this series any sooner????
This third installment was a good continuation of the first two. I liked the different setting and some of the world building but the characters were a little off in this one. Of course the writing was still really good but something was missing for me to really love this one.
