Thank you Netgalley. This was a great end to the series! I am really sorry to see it go. It has such a rich variety of scenery that was so well done that you were with the characters. It was easy to transition from the two previous books which is so important. Who wants to have to read a previous book to read the new one? The only down side is that the series is done. I hope this author continues to write!

For some reason I misread the book info and I didn't realise it was the third one in a series. However, I really enjoyed it!

The prose is beautiful, and the sensory details even more so (which, I surmise, is a key theme of the series). I find myself craving a holiday in the Mediterranean countryside, now. Provence, perhaps. Details of the events of previous books are scattered through the narrative, so I wasn't in the dark as a new reader. I found it easy to connect emotionally with the characters. It's odd to read about a world encompassing djinni, witches AND Shakespearean fairies, but it's a winsome combo.

This is very much an adult fantasy, but I also see this appealing to upper YA readers, in particular any fans of Laini Taylor's 'Daughter of Smoke and Bone' - there are so many striking parallels, in a good way.

Recommended for readers even if they haven't read previous books in the series. I plan to pick up the earlier ones, now.

The Conjurer is Sidra's story, and her life is complicated. A secret from the past is threatening to become a big problem in the present., and Elena, Yvette and Sidra are drawn together once again to fix it all.

I really like the way the author uses mythology and language to create a world that feels real. I will also say that these books have just the right amount of romance mixed in to the mystery and magic. I love the strong female friendships and the good decent men supporting them.

I hope to see more from this author.

I couldn't read this fast enough once I saw that Netgalley had approved my request. I am addicted to the Vine Witch series, but the original is still my favorite with Elena, I like throughout the series you learn more in depth about a certain character, this one focuses on Sidira, but the other characters of Elena and Yvette still play a role. Still captivating and entrancing but did not keep my attention as much as original book. Love the imagery though and the cover.

I will definitely re-read all these books and any new books by Luanne G Smith. She knows how to tell a good story with magic, and takes you to that place. Highly recommended as a fantasy series.

Oh,this was such a thrill to read and Sidra, a jinni is being hunted by another jinni, her brother in law and she learns along the way that friends comes in different shapes, sizes and ages and you can't help but turn the pages eager to know what becomes of her life on the run.

I jumped when I saw this on Netgalley, and immediately re-downloaded the previous two so I could read all three in a chunk.
Luanne G. SMITH wrote a charming pastoral-magic book in the Vine Witch, spending words to describe the heady summer days of grape growing and provincial France, full of it's own magic. I was left content. In her second and then, this, the third book, I felt like it just missed the mark. Oh, I can see all the elements of what made the first book so charming - the descriptions of Sidra's homeland, the power of fragrance, the magic of love, but unfortunately I had to really compel myself to finish it. I just didn't care all that much about her, nor about Yvette in the second book. I finished it thinking that The Vine Witch's popularity spurred these sequels on, rather than them being plotted alongside each other. Of course, this may not be the case, but nonetheless I felt like a banquet set before me turned out to be made of subpar ingredients.
Pick this up if you LOVED the first two - if you were just liked them, then it's an okay afternoon read. Three stars, average.

What a wonderful book. From the fantastic characters to the perfect storytelling, this book really has it all. The Conjurer is a magical story of a group battling a jinn that is trying to destroy not only them but everything else in his path. I absolutely loved all of the characters, they are so well written that it is hard not to become invested in them. The settings were fantastic, the smoky atmosphere and the perfumes were perfect. I did not know this was the third in a series and am thrilled that I get to go back and read the first two. I highly recommend it!

I have enjoyed all of the series to date and this was no exception.

The author builds a rich, complex magical world. She is beautifully descriptive.

The strength of this book lies in the friendships of the main characters. Disparate women, they nevertheless work well together. No one is left behind as they face a jinn bent on destruction.

I loved this feminist fantasy.

The Conjurer concocts a bewitching story layered with notes of love, friendship, and magic in the beguiling conclusion to The Vine Witch trilogy.

The Conjurer is a sensuous read marked by the fires of friendship, smoky intentions, exotic locations, intoxicating aromas, and the eternal flames of love. It follows Sidra, a djinn, who finds herself back in the dangerous French village she escaped to face her destiny and a vengeful djinn who will stop at nothing to steal her life along with a powerful ancient relic.  Along the way, Elena and Yvette find themselves implicated in Sidra's fate, creating an arabesque nature to this magical finale.

This story is not as dark as The Vine Witch, not as intricate as The Glamourist but is somewhere in between, allowing the characters from the trilogy to really shine through. The stakes are bigger and the magic pungent with passion and revenge. Ominous birds, secret spells, and pernicious perfumes abound in this sorcerous tale of djinn. 

I'm a little sad this spellbinding trilogy has come to an end because it quickly became my new favourite series. I loved the world Luanne G. Smith created because it had the right amount of magic and strong female characters. I really liked how each book focused on a different character and explored a different type of magic all within an enchanting French realm.

The Conjurer is an exciting adventure about the power of sisterhood and the consequences of a wish that twists like a vine, shines like a fairy, and flickers like a flame.

I hope this is not the last time we will see the vine witch, the glamourist, and the conjurer team up, so hopefully in the future the trio will be back in action, and maybe with Camille and her fabulous olefactory magic?

I was so thrilled to get a copy of this book early. I had finished the second book in the series not long ago, and I was dreading the wait to January. Now I know it would've been worth the wait.

As expected, for those who have been following the trilogy, this is Sidra's book. But as with last time, the other two women play a big part in it.

I love this series. While Yvette is my favorite, all three of the lead women are fantastic. I've immensely enjoyed the time I spent with all three of them, and I hope the potential of a fourth book (and the tease of a fourth powerful woman joining the trio) is realized sooner rather than later.
