This was pretty good! I don't have much to say about it other than it was a fast and enjoyable read. The characters we're really lovable and the badboy trope was really well done. It wasn't my personnal cup of tea, but I know others will love it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy in exchange for an honest review. This was such a cute lighthearted read, perfect for a rom-com fan. I enjoyed reading about a heroine like Macy. Although it was predictable with some of the tropes and relationships but proved to be a quick read for those that are seeking a contemporary romance.

It doesnt support or open after I download the pdf version of it. It's also not showing in my shelf in netgalley and I cant open it to read Please look into the issue and if you can send me the pdf in my mail ID- taniagungunsarkar@gmail.com I cant read the book from here. Please look into the issue

Cute storyline with nice characters. It's a fun, light read that's swoony though quite cliche. If you're looking for those wattpad storylines and something pretty light and fast to read, then this book is a good choice. Overall, I wouldn't say that this book really stuck out or anything, but it's nice if you're just looking for something quick and a little cheesy.

I wanted to enjoy this book so much, but sadly, it just wasn't for me. I love Wattpad, and I love fanfiction or the quirky cute romcoms I can find there. However, sometimes, the writing just kills the premise. I love that so many teens love these stories, but for me, I think you can still have the same level of romance and high school drama with great writing. The sentence structure, the story itself, and even the vocabulary just wasn't high enough for me to enjoy the book.

The story follows Macy the not so average girl in high school. She as you see in the title a very big tomboy. She’s the captain of the BOYS soccer team! When all her will is going into making the perfect season, Here comes all the boy trouble one could have. Especially when the boys are cousin. In drop the enemies to lover trope & the choosing between cousin trope. I found the story very predictable which is not always a bad thing. Especially when you have already read the books on Wattpad. It was a very light read something soft and fluffy. It was simply an okay read for me.

Thank you to Wattpad Books for sending me an ARC via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This one was honestly so much fun to read! I found myself laughing and smiling at the antics that the characters got up to. It was a quick read that I found moved at a good pace. It was mostly light-hearted, but it did deal with some heavier topics such as racism, homophobia, and grief.
I liked the diversity within the story, and I like how it was also used to talk about social issues within the small framework of their high school. For example, Jasmine (the best friend) is Black, and she has to deal with racist comments from this mean girl all the time. This is addressed in the story, but it remains a subplot in the background which made me feel so frustrated for Jasmine, but I also felt like this was probably a realistic portrayal.
I liked Macy’s character a lot. She was likeable and pretty genuine even if I couldn’t relate to a lot of aspects of her personality personally. I also liked her relationship with Sam right from the beginning. Sam was such a good character as well. I liked the way that the author introduced the topic of grief as a way for these characters to connect with each other, and I think it was handled well.
I am not normally a huge fan of love triangles, but I liked this one. It didn’t really feel like a love triangle, though, which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. I wasn’t a huge fan of Cedric from the beginning, and so I had kind of figured out his motivations for things early on and I wasn’t surprised by the ending.
If you like cute and fun YA contemporaries, I’d recommend giving this one a try!

Had a really, REALLY tough time getting through this. DNF @25%. The not like other girls aspect was pretty disappointing and the narrative voice didn't feel compelling enough to stick with it.

I volunteered to read this book, through netgalley in exchange, for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. The pacing of this book is great. The friendships and the relationships within this book is great. The writing style is incredible. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This book will be in stores on October 20th for $10.99 (USD).

Thank you NetGalley, Wattpad Books and Nicole Nwosu for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Back in early high school I discovered Wattpad and LOVED it, but I’ll admit, the writing on there usually isn’t the best. I went into this expecting that, but found that I just couldn’t get past it trying to read the book. I just couldn’t get into a reading rhythm and I don't want to spend any more time trying.

Unfortunately this was not the book for me. I ended up DNF @34%. As we all know the quality of what is on Wattpad varies greatly, but in general they are not what one would hope for in a published book. This felt like a Wattpad story. The writing was simplistic, the characters not developed and the story full of every cliche YA trope. The idea might be there but this needs a great editor. For me the story read very young, and while I do enjoy a lot of YA, this may be better received by a younger audience.

This book, I believe, had good bones to it; however, it was hard to read. The story was difficult to flow due to the flow of it and with making scenes being abrupt and changing abruptly. I did enjoy the MC friendships and liked how they developed and were shown to be.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a book that I had read on Wattpad years ago and it quickly became a favorite. Seeing the author getting this published I was super excited and I immediately requested an ARC. I will say, years later I still remember why I loved this book in the first place. Rereading this though I do recognize that there were a lot of tropes done, they were done well, but you recognize from the beginning who Macy will end up with so that wasn't as much of a surprise. Going back and reading this made me realize why I loved Sam as a character, one of my favorite things in a romance is when the hero is irrevocably in love with the heroine and you got that feeling from the moment Sam came on to the page.
I did take off one star because there were cheating and the 'not like other girls' trope and I don't usually like that in books, but overall it is a solid read and I know this will always be a nostalgic comfort read for me.

Macy was a model student and a phenomenal athlete. She was captain of the boys' soccer team and determined to earn an athletic scholarship. She hadn't considered a romance until a past crush, Cedric, asked her out. Things seemed to be going well, until Macy realized she had more than friendly feelings for his cousin Sam.
What I liked:
• I liked Macy. She had goals, drive, and determination. She had to put up with a lot as a female playing on a boys team. She had earned the respect of her teammates, but her opponents weren't always necessarily respectful to her. She was also a loyal friend and a good sister.
• Sam might have made some questionable choices, but he really wasn't *that* bad. He suffered a great loss and maybe didn't deal with it in the best way, but he really did have a heart of gold.
• Sam and Macy both lost people who were very important to them. It was something they could bond over, and it was good to see them work through their pain together.
• Spring break at grandma's house was one of my favorite parts. Seeing Macy and her brother reconnect with their maternal grandmother was really lovely, and grandma was a rock star. I really loved her.
Other Stuff:
This was a messy love triangle, but Nwosu did some things, which I think were there to make me accept some of the characters' eyebrow raising choices. In the end, I was happy with the end result, but I probably would have been just as happy had there been no triangle.
Overall:
I always like seeing the girl-least-likely-to get the guy, and it was wonderful to see the broody boy reveal the source of his pain. I liked this pair together, and even if I didn't necessarily agree with all their choices, I was happy with how it all worked out.

Gave up due to ridiculously bad writing. This is like a bad pass-around story where people sit around a table, write a line, and pass it to the next person.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK! The character development of Sam Cahill, and the reason why he is the person he is today, was so heartwrenching. Also, Macy Anderson is an inspiration to many women today: she follows her heart, and does not try to "blend in" in the crowd. This book mentions many important topics of identity issues and grief. The way the two characters bond over grief was very emotional to read about, making the book very powerful to read. Definitely a tear-jerker, and I LOVED IT!

Macy Anderson only care about her friends, her grades and soccer until a boy she likes named Cedric asks her out and obviously she says yes but as she becomes friends with Cedrics cousin Sam, Macy’s feeling being to change.
Ok so I suck at briefly describing books but I just first want to say this book doesn’t come out til October 13th and I was able to get a arc through Netgalley and Edelweiss.
Im going to try to keep my opinions biased as I have read this story about 5 times on Wattpad so I’m going to try not to think about that version while writing about this but I don’t want to say it is different than the wattpad version but not in a bad way. The differences are huge in some aspects but I can see why they were changed so I’m not mad. I might do an entire YouTube video on this in the future once I can unlock the wattpad version again.
So now onto the actual review which is going to be short.
Overall this is a good book with good characters and plot. It’s a perfect contemporary love story with a sports element that isn’t overpowering. We have a great group of friends who are amazing and I wish I had friends like Macy’s friends. I love how Macy doesn’t swear and makes up funny words to replace swear words, I find it so funny because I am a person who swears way to much.
I absolutely love Macy and Sam and would die for them because they are so stinking cute together. The flirting from them is what I need in life. Yes, there is a few problematic things like cheating in this story but the way it is handled afterwards is mature and dealt with in a mature manner.
I love this story so much and I will definitely read it again and probably buy a physical copy when I am able to afford it.
I also quickly want to thank Nicole for writing this story, it’s amazing and I love it.

This was just another okay read for me. There were some good parts that made me smile or laugh, but there were also many parts that were just bleh.
One positive was the characters in the book. We meet a lot of them right off the bat. Luckily, the author seems to introduce them all pretty well so it's a little easier to keep up with them as the book moves on. I liked learning about the friend group and seeing them progress as the book moved forward.
I do think some of the relationships between characters could have been improved. Unfortunately, I think one of those relationships includes that between the main character Macy and her love interest. They had some cute moments together, but I was really missing that emotional connection to tie them together. Maybe it was the fact that they were both a little wishy-washy with each other which didn't allow for more of a connection.
Overall, I don't think I"d recommend this book because it wasn't a stand-out novel for me. While there were some good moments, this is not going to be a very memorable book for me.

DNFed at 45%. Really felt like a wattpad story and was really cheesy. If I wanted to read a wattpad story I would just go to wattpad.

The book centers around the main character, Macy Anderson, who is amazing at soccer and plays soccer on the school team that consists of boys because there's no separate girls team. Her mom's dead - died in a car accident years ago - and she has a younger brother and dad. Within the first few chapters, Macy has already run into the love interest. Sam, who have the opposite of a meet-cute and instead lowkey hurl insults at each other. The book opens up on a quite boring note so trying to keep myself from DNF-ing was a challenge.
She finds out her is the cousin of her crush, which makes little sense (imo) since we'd never heard his name until then. The whole book just felt really dry and I didn't enjoy it very much overall.
Okay so I really really enjoy reading Wattpad books that have been actually published usually because they have a cringey, cliche element to them that works well since the writers are always good at writing and it ends up working really well together.
This was not one of those times. All the tropes felt on the nose, lots of the side characters fell flat since there were so many but so little development time. IDK, it wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't good. It just kind of...exists.
