This is the first book in a new series, the Farm to Table Mysteries. I jumped at the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the new series. I really like Amanda Flowers as an author. This series will go to my must read list.

I already have a Farm to fork mystery series that I really enjoy and this series can only enhance the things I learn along with a good dose of a great mystery.

Good plot, great characters. Looking forward to more in this series.

I was given an advanced copy by Netgalley. I am not required to leave a positive review.

I haven’t read very many cozy mysteries before. When I saw this title, Farm to Trouble, it really caught my eye.

I love farms! Love the idea of owning and operating a farm, of course without all the back-breaking work! So I was completely intrigued to pick up this book.

To begin with, the main character Shiloh Bellamy is returning to her family farm after being away for 15 years. Her father can no longer run the farm due to his health. Shiloh has decided that she will turn the farm into an Organic farm and create a café on the farm to help drive business. The current debt is too much for her small bank account so Shiloh turns to the only investor who is willing to help. She signs a deal with the most hated man in town (unbeknownst to her) and the day after she returns to town, this investor is murdered at the farmer’s market, and Shiloh happens to be the first person to find him. With everyone pointing the finger at her, Shiloh is determined to prove her innocence by solving the mystery of who actually committed the murder.

This cozy mystery is entertaining and I really enjoyed it! I loved the backdrop of the farm and wished that it had taken more of a center-stage in the overall story. The town characters are interesting and I’m looking forward to future books in this small Michigan town setting. Hopefully there is a lot more farm antics added to the future stories!

Thank you to #PoisonedPenPress and #NetGalley for making this book available for review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Farm to Trouble by Amanda Flower is the first book in the new series Farm to Table Mystery series. I love Ms. Flower's books, but this book took awhile for me to get past the mean people in it. Shiloh Bellamy quit her high paying job to return to Michigan and help her father with the farm. The farm is in bad shape and needs a lot of work. Shiloh is not getting any help especially from her father and cousin who belittle her at every turn. When the man who offered to finance the repairs to their farm is found dead at the farmers market, Shiloh and her father are the main suspects. I'm glad I stuck with this book, overall I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book to any who like cozy mysteries.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

FARM TO TROUBLE by Amanda Flower
The First Farm to Table Mystery

Shiloh Bellamy has left life as a Hollywood producer to try to help her ailing father and save her family farm in Cherry Glen, Michigan. With a plan she's sure her father won't like, Shiloh finds an investor and agrees to a cutthroat agreement-if she doesn't turn a profit in two years she could lose the farm. What she doesn't know is that the investor is one of the most despised men in town. Buying up property left and right and almost owning the entire town already, he's seen as the devil incarnate. Shiloh also didn't know how bad the farm's condition truly was. Feeling she has no choice but to finalize her deal with the devil, Shiloh goes to meet him at the Farmer's Market only to find his dead body. With a less than stellar return home, Shiloh knows she'd better root out a killer, before she loses the farm!

Generally, cozy mysteries have a setting I want to spend time in and people with whom I want to hang out. I'm not sure I feel that way about Cherry Glen. The small town may have changed from run down to burgeoning, but the majority of its residents are unpleasant and downright nasty! I can't stand Shiloh's cousin, which is surprising as I'm a theatre person and adore the restoration of old buildings. Shiloh's father is a jerk, Quinn's mother is a shrew, and I have no words for Minnie! The good news is that I do like Shiloh, who is competent, hard working, and kind. I love Huckleberry, who is quite the character! There are some pleasant people in town and I hope they take on more prominence in future books.

The mystery itself was intriguing and well plotted, with almost everyone a possible suspect. I especially liked the fact that while the mystery was solved, there are ongoing issues to address and another puzzle to figure out. I also think a certain character may have a new role in the next book and I look forward to seeing if my hunch is correct.

With FARM TO TROUBLE Amanda Flower has planted the seeds of a richly satisfying mystery series. I look forward to watching the characters grow and flourish...and seeing who gets weeded out next!

Shiloh Bellamy has her heart and mind in the right place to move back home. She wants to save her family farm and help her elderly father. She has been gone 15 years and her welcome back home is anything but sweet. Not knowing she signed a contract with an investor to turn the family farm into an organic farm. She finds the investor shot to death at the local farmers market. Everyone agrees she killed him.
I loved this series!

Farm To Trouble is the first book in the Farm To Table Mysteries series by Amanda Flower.

After her boyfriend dies in an automobile accident, Shiloh Bellamy left Cherry Glen, Michigan, fifteen years ago for Los Angles to pursue her dream of becoming a television show producer. She has been a very successful career as a producer, which has allowed her to help her father with the farm’s expenses. But when her father sends her a tax bill that is due, she decides to move back to Cherry Glen to help her ill father. Shiloh thought that Bellamy Farm should be turned into an organic farm for some time, but her father has nixed this from the start.

When Shiloh arrives at the farm, she is shocked at running down the fields and buildings to say nothing about how her dad’s health has deteriorated. Shiloh informs her dad that she signed a contract with Jackson Crocker to provide funds to get the farm registered as an organic farm. Shiloh’s father tells her that she couldn’t have gotten a worse partner. Crocker owns most of the buildings downtown and has a reputation of not being fair in purchasing the properties. The next day Shiloh goes to the local farmer’s market to meet with Crocker but instead finds his lifeless body. Shiloh and her father will soon become the main person of interest by the police. Once Shiloh begins to investigate who might have been the killer, she will find several suspects.

I love all of the author’s series and am sure I will be adding this new one. The book is well-written and plotted. The book proceeds at a nice pace. The characters are well-developed, believable, and enjoyable. I will be looking forward to seeing if the relationship between Shiloh and her cousin, Stacey, will improve. Shiloh found a note that her grandmother had left in her cabin. Hopefully, Shiloh will locate the treasure that her grandmother mentions. It will be interesting to see if Shiloh will find a romantic interest in Quinn, her late boyfriend’s best friend.

I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

I received a copy of Farm to Trouble through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Farm to Trouble is the first mystery in the new Farm to Table Mystery series. Shiloh Bellamy has just returned to Cherry Glen, Michigan after spending fifteen years in LA to save her family’s farm. When murder strikes and Shiloh finds the body, making her a prime suspect, she finds herself on a search for a killer.

I really enjoyed this new mystery and am looking forward to following this series. The mystery was fun and intriguing, the characters are well developed and likable and the Cherry Glen setting is perfect. There was not a thing that I disliked about this mystery, it was one of those books that made me want to keep turning the pages. I definitely recommend this new series and I am looking forward to seeing what is next for Shiloh.

Shiloh has returned to help her dad run the family farm, and falls into a murder. Liked the story overall, and have enjoyed books by this author for awhile. This is the start of a new series. A few hiccups that will probably be explained later on, including the animosity of her cousin. I am assuming Quinn will be a love interest down the road, and building a relationship with her dad will be touched on. A lot of potential seen here. As for this one, a lot of questions of reactions and history left me shaking my head, but again will probably be explained later. Also felt that the killer could have been touched on more. Otherwise, would highly recommend.

Shiloh left Michigan for California 15 years ago and hasn't returned – until now, when her father needs help with the family farm. When she arrives, she realizes that his health has declined significantly, and the farm is in worse financial shape than she thought. She wants to turn the farm into an organic, farm-to-table operation, but when her investor is found dead and all fingers point to her and her father, she is determined to clear both of their names, no matter what the rest of the town thinks.

This is the first book in a new series by one of my favorite cozy authors. Based on books in her other series, I had high hopes for this one, and was only slightly disappointed. The book started off on a more negative note than most of this author's other series, and the attitudes of the town's residents were hard to read about. I know people really do act like this, especially with "outsiders," but it's still unpleasant to read/hear about. I liked Shiloh's spunk, and adored her dog, Huckleberry, but will wait to see how things go with some of the other characters who will probably return in future books. The mystery was good, and I was unable to determine the identity of the killer until just before the reveal in the story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

A fantastic little cozy mystery! I think I'm going to just love this series! The characters are very well developed, they jibe well with each other, and they all grew throughout the story. Having read her Amish and Candy shop series', I was expecting it to be a bit heavier on the cheesy side and was so pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't at all. Well worth picking up! I'm looking forward to the next one. Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed, are mine and mine alone.

Farm to Trouble is a nice start to the new Farm to Table series set in Cherry Glen, Michigan near Traverse City. Shiloh Bellamy's father requested she return home to help him with the family farm after she had been gone for fifteen years working as a successful television producer in Los Angeles.
So sold her home, packed up and moved back along with her pug. She has ideas to make the farm a success again and even has an investor, one her father and cousin Stacey are not happy about. Her return really started off wrong when she finds Jefferson Crocker, her investor, at the farmers' market where she is to meet him but he has been shot and killed. Now, she and her father are suspects in the murder. Things are also a little depressing with the huge job of the rebuilding the farm and how to do it now, not to mention the issue of the murder of the investor, who practically owned the town and was not liked. I wanted to tell her to leave them all but she threw herself into solving the murder mystery. Since Crocker was not liked, there are many people to investigate and a twisted mystery to unravel with a solution that I didn't see coming. We are left with a couple of issues to look forward to in the next story.
I received a complimentary ARC from Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

This is a fun, cozy mystery. I haven't read any by this author before and picked this one because it was set in Michigan, my home state, and the town closely reminds me of Glen Arbor. It has some slow parts, but the storyline was good. There are a lot of interesting characters in the town and I can see this being a great series.

Shiloh, with her side kick bulldog, Huckleberry, returns home to her father's run down farm in hopes of turning it into a farm to table destination. She's got fantastic ideas, just not the money to make it happen. So she turns to an investor and that's where things go array and the investor is murdered. There is a lot of extra happening in the background, I can see where these characters and events will lead into furthering the series.

I loved the theme of farm to table, a organic farm and cafe in Farm to Trouble. It started out slow but soon picked up the pace. Shiloh was a delightful protagonist. Her family on the other hand were very mean towards Shiloh but it worked out in the end. Shiloh's relationship with her grandmother had me missing my own. The mystery kept me guessing. Hope there will be more foodie themes in future books.

Shiloh Bellamy has come home to Cherry Glen, Michigan, to help her father with the family farm. Over the years, she has sent money home from California, where she worked as a producer, to help pay off the farm’s debt. For years Shiloh has dreamed of turning the land into an organic farm-to-fork operation, but her father has refused. But Shiloh won’t give up on her dreams so easily; she’s brought aboard an investor to help turn the farm into a profitable business.
Shiloh’s investor is Jackson Crocker, the most hated man in the area. He’s bought up most of the buildings in Cherry Glen and he’s been trying to buy Bellamy Farm for years. Only after her father’s tirade does Shiloh begin to fear she’s made a mistake bringing on Jackson, but the contract is signed, and she can’t back out now. The next morning, instead of meeting Jackson to discuss business, Shiloh finds his body instead. Now Shiloh is a prime suspect in Jackson’s murder and if she doesn’t figure out who killed her investor, she’ll lose her family and her farm.

Recommendation
Farm to Trouble is the first book in the Farm to Table series. Cherry Glen, Michigan, is a small town that has re-invented itself, surrounded by family farms struggling to make ends meet. The relationships between the characters are complex, complicated by family ties, misunderstandings, and for Shiloh, a painful past she must face after avoiding it for so long. Farm to Trouble is a strong start to a new series and I look forward to reading more.

My first by this author. I enjoyed the cozy little mystery. I loved the setting,, a farm in the country, a small town with very authentic residents. Humorously, many whom were quite grumpy. This is evidently the first in a new series for this author, I would be interested in more! Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

Will Murder Be The Final Straw.....
The debut in the Farm to Table Mystery series from Amanda Flower. Was returning home to Bellamy Farm the right choice for protagonist Shiloh? With the family farm in need of help Shiloh gives up everything to make it work. She has way too much on her hands but when a murder takes place will it really be the final straw? She now has to clear the family name and turn amateur detective. Entertaining cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist and a plot populated with a colourful cast of characters. A promising start to a new series and some much needed escapism.

Farm to Trouble (Farm to Table Mysteries #1) by Amanda Flower
Publisher: Poisoned Pen Press
Genre: General Fiction (Adult)

Farm to Trouble is the first book in the new Farm to Table Mysteries series by Amanda Flower. I have read several books by the author and I have to say, I think this one is my favorite!!!!

Shiloh Bellamy is returning home, to a small town, after 15 years in Los Angeles, to help her father save their family farm. Things are much worse than she expected and quickly get worse.

I really liked Shiloh's character. She is definitely someone I would want to be friends with! She has a big heart and tries to do the right thing. Her neighbors and the people in town are something else.

I really enjoyed the storyline and the mystery was great! This was a quick read and fast paced. I look forward to reading the future books in this series (I hope there are a lot!)!

I'm so grateful to Amanda Flower, Poisoned Pen Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

This cozy book, the first in this series, is about cultivating land and friendships along with a murderous bite! Shiloh's aging father needs her mentally and physically to take over the running of the farm she grew up on in Michigan. She leaves her highly successful and high-paying job and the glitz of LA behind for good as she has always wanted to manage an organic farm. But the word "organic" farm isn't as welcome as she had hoped. Speaking from experience, organic farm certification is NOT easy but Shiloh has done her research. She is 38 and in good physical shape so is up for clearing away the overgrown neglect and personal cobwebs.

Shiloh had personal reasons for not rushing to the farm sooner. But almost immediately after going home someone is murdered, practically at her feet. Shiloh is suspected...but what are her ties and motives? She tries to investigate and keep herself and family safe. She catches up (she has been away for years, after all), rebuilds old friendships and makes new ones. Her insidious cousin has been helping her father with the farm

As I have a connection to the land I can relate somewhat to Shiloh. Though the book was predictable in parts it was a fun and charming read, a lovely summery escape on this -41C morning. I do like the ending in particular.

Cozy mystery readers, do add this to your list.

My sincere thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for allowing me the privilege of reading this delightful book!
