I really wanted to like this book!!

Penny and George are both passionate writer and who are both writing a piece on dating. This includes tinder, speed dating etc. Dating is harder than they expect however when they put their differences aside and work together they realise they work well... together 🤣.

What I liked?
*I loved the banter between George and Penny. Their friendship was really funny and I kind of got "the hating game" vibes off them. They had a great enemies to lovers thing going on.
*Dual POV - yes!!!
*I loved Georges and Penny's families, they were supportive and I loved their background stories.

What I didn't like?
*At the start George introduces himself and Geo. I literally cringed, don't get me wrong I'm all up for nicknames however hia alter ego Geo was a little odd for my liking.
* Their chemistry! Okay so they kissed once or twice and yet they still didn't know if the other person liked them? Of course they liked each other, they kissed a few times! I wanted to shake them.
* There were a few parts that were really funny and then, if im honest, the majority of the time I thought it was quiet cringe worthy. I tried to get the humour but it was lost on me. Sorry.
* The pace. The parts that were good were AMAZING!! It was captivating and really sweet and then there were moments were I thought "oh come on". It kind of flopped and I wanted to skim parts.

Overall this book has a lot of potential however it lacked in a lot of places. I am glad I read it however I won't be rereading it. Sorry.

Penny and George are in a race to find the perfect date. They go from one disastrous date to the next as they try to find the perfect match. There is witty and funny conversations as they try to outdo each other in person and in writing. In the end the heart cannot be denied and a match is made.

Well I was surprised that it was written in this era, at times I was reading a Danielle Steele novel but it wasn't so I didn't jive with them and really didn't connect. We get a little mystery wonder how was it the George and Penny ended up at the same place same it, but we found out to soon which to me was what kept me wondering. As I mention didn't feel the chemistry.

3.5⭐
The Dating Itinerary was a light and fluffy read. That although a little clichéd was still engaging, and it nicely approached the sensitive subject of sexual assault without becoming heavy or trivialising it. And with likable characters, and fun dating exploits this certainly was a pleasing escape for the couple of hours it took to read.

I wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did. I'm not familiar with this author, but she did a wonderful job with the story. The story flowed and held my attention till the very end. The "romance" between Penny and Geo was funny, frustrating, and understanding. I loved getting to know them better while they fell in love. This was a super cute story and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

A fab read the story of Penny and Geo - they used to work together and get on OK, but when he won promotion over her all that changed. Now Penny has a chance at getting the cover story and Geo has a chance of getting syndicated - both working on stories about dating and keep running in to each other.

I hope this is a series and that Penny's sisters get their own books too!

Imagine, if you are chosen to try all the different kind of dating avenues out there and get paid to write about it.
Yeah, this blurb was enough to pique my interest in reading this book as I love reading/knowing about dating experiences of people. It has an air of surprise. awkwardness, trepidation and a weirdly pleasant hilarity to it.

Penny Coyne, the 30 year old protagonist is a talented writer, who has been unlucky in love. She has never been good at dating and now she has to do it for a living, not the perfect candidate you would expect.
Penny has now been tapped to write a series of features called “The Dating Itinerary.” From speed dating to Tinder, old-fashioned matchmakers to up-and-coming “dark dating,” Penny now has to go on a lot of dates and write about them in her weekly column.

George or Geo , a handsome , irresistibly charming man is her nemesis. He happens to be her ex colleague who had unfairly got the promotion which she deserved because the editor had the hots for him.

Coincidentally, they both end up in the same places doing the same "Dating Itinerary" blog series. The Hating Game turns to F.R.I.E.N.D.S and then finally they give in to the Love cupid.

I loved this book, the characters, the plot and how the everyday aspects of Dating journey in today's time is shown perfectly with the nuances. Its a fluffy, light and feel good rom-com.Penny's and George's chemistry reminded me of the romance between Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl which is one of my all time favourite romantic comedies.

4/5 stars

Thank you NetGalley , Entangled Publishing and Brooke Williams for providing me an ARC of this book. I would look forward to reading more from the author.

Looking for a cute read that will make you laugh out loud then look no further then The Dating Itinerary. I love what Brooke Williams gives us with Penny and George. Penny is just trying to advance her career and navigates the dating world as she does it. I love how she just digs right in and all the mishaps that happen a long the way. George is Penny's rival writer who is doing his on dating story. He is swoon worthy when it comes to how he is with his sister and nephew. There is just this quiet chemistry that starts to build the more Penny and George are exploring every dating avenue together. I love Penny and George together. Just wait until you meet Penny's sisters you are going to just love them. I would love to see a book for each sister. This is just a fantastically cute romcom that I couldn't put down.

This was an easy quick read. I found it a little predictable and felt there wasn't much going on. It was a cute concept but fell a little flat.

A cute concept with Penny and Geo both writing a series of articles about different dating methods.

While I liked the idea, the characters and writing just didn't connect for me. The plot had a natural progression that kept things moving, but I didn't feel a huge amount of chemistry between Geo and Penny.

There were some humorous moments and l did like the strong friendships that Penny and Geo each had with their respective siblings.

Overall a nice book, but just an ok read for me.

I enjoyed the banter between Penny and Geo. Their dating experiences were realistic and entertaining. Penny and her sisters tried to lend humor and a girlfriend feel to the book- predictable.
I felt doing a series of articles exploring dating options was outdated.
I did appreciate focus on the need for women to pay attention to their safety, as well as Meg's college experience.

The Dating Itinerary is a beautifully written, funny, tender book that suffers from some serious issues of unexamined sexism. I found it a frustrating read, because the first three quarters of the book were enormous fun, and I enjoyed the witty banter, clever articles and disastrously funny dates. And then at the three quarter mark, something happened that soured me on the whole story, and it never really recovered from that.

My full review will appear on Smart Bitches, Trashy Books closer to the publication date.

This one fell flat for me. The premise really excited me as it reminded me of Never been Kissed, but as I read I found the characters boring and either really down on themselves or really arrogant. The Coyne sisters names were my favorite part, but even that felt crazy and a little out of place.

Cute story about dating and all the different aspects there are to it. I, for one, am glad I am not dating in the year 2020.

In an enemies to lover romance, This one was a quick and fun summer read by the beach. Cute and predicable storyline.

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams a four-star read that almost deserves more. This had all the makings of a five-star read, but it just missed a little something. The characters were good and the set up great, I couldn’t put my finger on what was missing, there was just something that didn’t sit right, that being said there was so much that did. Including Her Heart, the whole aspect ran through the story in a reminding manner and not in a manner that felt like it was being told but rather showing. I enjoyed meeting George, I don’t know if the same can be said of Gio, but hey ho what can you do, he played his part well. I will say I loved all of the Coynes and Penny was just sublime, I do hope we get to hear more from the money sisters, they are all single after all.

Penny and George once worked together before he went on his own, now a series of dating events, apps, matchmakers and more brings them together years later.
The idea of this book was catching the problem is that there are a lot of missed opportunities in the plot the Coyle's naming their girls after currency, why they ended up in the same assignments, and more.
In all is an okay read with nice enough characters that somehow have chemistry.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I really liked the story and the chemistry between Penny and George. But all the George/Geo nonsense was a bit distracting, I mean, you can't blame all your faults on an alter ego and call it a day! Even more so when Geo wasn't so bad like Penny thought.

To date, or not to date? That is the question. Or rather, how to date.

Penny Coyne (yes, that was a purposeful name) is a writer for the St Louis Happenings, and she has just been assigned a new series - The Dating Itinerary, where she will be trying out different dates from using Tinder, to blind dating to a good old fashioned matchmaker. Only, she keeps on bumping into her old rival, Geo Monais....

The author attempts to weave in a tiny bit of suspense into the book, although it's not entirely designed to be a mystery as to how both Geo and Penny end up on a similar assignment. In my opinion, it was dealt with a little too quickly and easily and could have been expanded upon.

If we can quickly talk about characters: I found them to both be just okay. I didn't mind them and felt that they were nice enough. I did wince when George was introduced as "Geo", but you know, to each their own nickname, I suppose. Penny and Geo each appear to be good writers and to match each other well. I didn't feel as if their chemistry was absolutely blazing, but it was there.

What surprised me a little when I read it was the way the book dealt with sexual assault. First of all, snaps for bringing it up and talking about it. I appreciated how it was dealt with quite respectfully and in a manner that normalised talking about it. I would have a loved a bit more of exploration surrounding it rather than the quick resolution (note: it doesn't occur to a main character, it's just somewhat related to the motivations of a character).

Overall, this was a cute fun read. I was left feeling as if the plot and the characters could have been a little more developed, but nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

Note: I was very generously provided an ARC of this novel by the publisher and the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This wasn’t a bad book, but it didn’t feel like a book being released in 2020. Instead, it felt more like a 1990s book, set in a world where newspapers give assignments on “dating” and one freelance writer aims at a syndicated column on ... [unclear] that is lucrative enough to help fund a charity that is aimed at ... helping women. There is a lot that’s not explained in this book, such as why parents with the last name Coyle could name their daughters Penny, Nickel, Dime, and Quarter and still seemingly have a good relationship with them.
The plot is pretty predictable, and the writing in the main characters’ voices felt very generic. What I did like was that you got a real sense that the main characters liked one another. That’s no small thing.
