I couldn't put this book down, and really enjoyed it! A really nice easy read.
Definitely Devil wears Prada vibes.
While some of the characters morals were questionable I still found myself growing to love them (other than Dom, I kinda wish Hailey ditched him lol, and Sophie also annoyed me in parts)
Sophie and Daniel was predictable but I still loved the link
I really wanted to enjoy this one but i just couldnt :(
I enjoyed it at first but I felt that it was slightly too long and found myself pushing to read it towards the end.
4⭐️ I really enjoyed this one from Elizabeth Neep! As I was reading I was very much reminder of the Devil Wears Prada (which I loved) and I thought the law firm environment was very fun. I also loved Vivian and her growth throughout. A great edition to your TBR lists.
I tried to start reading this one, but couldn't get into it. The characters were a bit annoying, and I just couldn't trust them. I'm sure others will like this, but it just wasn't my thing.
I honestly cannot believe I had this book on my shelf for so long. I absolutely loved it!
I really enjoyed the setting of a law firm and adored Hailey Kidd as a character. I laughed so much reading this, the writing was witty and really set the scene. I enjoyed being pulled into the world of divorce law, seeing couples go to war as the lawyers practice what they are best at.
In another life I would have quite liked to have been a lawyer. Great book. I will look out for more from this author.
I don’t really know what exactly I was expecting from the story, but it still managed to make me feel like I had been short-changed in some way. I have seen Never Say No being compared to The Devil Wears Prada numerous times, which is a book series (and film) that I absolutely love, but unfortunately this story just didn’t draw me in or give me anywhere near the same feelings.
I think the main thing that caused me to have issues with this book was just simply the fact that I found none of the characters likeable, I really struggled to pick anyone to root for because as soon as I thought I had made a conclusion of who I wanted to come out on top, something would come along and change that. The actual storyline was fine and I really do think that it’s an overall decent read, just not one for me. With all things considered I think that I’m going to give Never Say No a rating of 3/5 stars, I really do think that other people can genuinely enjoy this story, and may like the characters and root for them, but it’s just not for me (they can’t all be winners after all!
Was this book written for me? It certainly felt like it! Great read could really resonate with the main character.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
How great to read a book that explores the complexities of character's lives with such wit and wisdom. I really hoped the protagonist would make the right choices and I was rooting for her to do so. The author explores some of the tensions and temptations of modern relationships but also dives into what really matters most long term. There should be more books like this!
This was a fun read which would be perfect for summer! The writing sucked me straight into the story, making me want to know more and more about the characters, their lives and what was going to happen next!
A fun, enjoyable romantic comedy. Hailey is a relatable character living in a fast-paced world that demands a lot from her. She has just accepted a new job with her idol, Vivian Jones, that comes with many new challenges. While trying to deal with all these new obstacles she starts to question her life choices including her relationships with her best friend, Sophie, and her boyfriend, Dom.
The characters of Hailey and Vivian were very well developed and their relationship was well conceived. I only wish the characters of Dom, Sophie and Liam had a bit more depth so that I could have known them better. It is a very easy read that kept my attention from beginning to end. It reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada but had uniqueness that separated it from being the same story, although it did have me rooting for Hailey the same way I had rooted for Andrea to succeed.
This is a cute book that was well worth reading and I highly recommend it those who enjoy romantic comedies with some drama mixed in. I am looking forward to many more books from author Elizabeth Neep!
This was not the book for me... I was expecting something altogether different, but It took me a couple months to find the will to finish it...
I'm not saying it was bad exactly, only really that it did not excite me.
This is an honest review in exchange for the ARC from Netgalley. I thank all the people involved in granting me this copy :) have a great day and read great books.
A funny, sweet rom-com. Perfect beach read!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
This was a decent but light read; one that was just okay for me. The setting is London. Twenty-nine year old Hailey is at a crossroads in her life. She is in the midst of a career change; transitioning from teacher to law intern. Her "people" are her best friend, Sophie and her long term boyfriend (since they were kids), Dom. The trouble is Hailey is now embroiled in a whole new world of high powered deals, lawyers, secrets and following her mentor/idol around. The people in this new world will do anything to get what they want and she fears she may be leaving her bestie and boyfriend behind. Working to juggle it all and feeling stressed to the brink, Hailey must find a way to understand what she truly wants out of life and if all the bells and whistles are worth it after all. Thank you to @bookouture and @netgalley for the free e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. #neversayno #netgalley #goodreads #bookouture #bookstagrammer #bookreviewer #booksandmrdarcy #withhernosestuckinabook❤️📚
An enjoyable, easy to read, humourous story that really pulled me in from the start.
The characters are interesting and fun, and I truly loved how the story focused on friendship along with romance.
A nice light hearted read.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but it surprised me with delight. It was nice being able to put myself into the characters shoes and see how to apply this to my life.
Whilst this story was enjoyable, it wasn't completely what I was expecting, therefore I will be giving this read 3 stars. Thank you for the opportunity.
Right off the bat, I definitely got The Devil Wears Prada vibes from this book. I loved being taken on Hailey’s journey towards being a lawyer. I always appreciate a book that is rooted in female empowerment and champions any woman who has made a decision to do something BIG for herself! “Experiencing” the flashy lifestyle of all of the lawyers was fun as well. It was all written in a way that I felt like I was right there! I’m definitely looking forward to more stories from Elizabeth Neep.
Never Say No wasn’t exactly what I thought it was going to be. 3 stars!
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this ARC!
Never Say No follows Hailey as she navigates life with the Fear Of Missing Out attitude. She always says yes to everyone and everything, but it feels as though this happens by choice and not out of necessity. Hailey has a steady boyfriend and a bestfriend who is close to both of them, making their group of three and the dynamics quite interesting. Having decided to pursue a career in Law, Hailey tries to get noticed at the prestigious firm, especially by their only female partner, Vivian.
Vivian is an icon, a strong woman who works hard to get what she wants. However, no-one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. As the story progresses, we observe these two women as they navigate their lives and the world. It took me some time to get into the book, as initially I could not understand where it was going. The blurb promises humor, but for me there was very little of it and more personal drama. In addition some of the characters like Liam and Dom were not very well developed. It would have been nice to get to know Hailey and Dom as a couple and to understand their dynamics before the job at the Law firm gets in the way.
The story flows well and even though the book did not grip me, I did enjoy the read. The author does show us a reality that most people can relate to, the idea that we do not know where we are headed, or that we have to be a certain way to be accepted. All these are very pertinent points and the author tackles them well through this story.
This book is worth a read and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
I was not happy with this book at all! I picked it up as it gave me a The Devil Wears Prada feels. It even started like that but unfortunately it turned to something very disturbing.
Appreciate th ARC #Netgally but this was not my kind of read
