Loved this book and totally enjoying the whole series.
In Book two we our reintroduced to the main characters and how their lives have developed. The center character now is Eleanor, all grown up, widowed, and desperate to escape her in laws house and rejoin her family. Ian sends her a ticket to join him in Boston, and she travels across with with another character from book 1 also all grown up, Caroline. Caroline is excited for the adventure to meet her uncle in Boston and finally have her own season. However, things with her uncle are not what they appear and Caroline soon finds herself in desperate need of escape.
The character's and families become intermingled as the story line grown and develops.
Cannot wait for Book 3.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is a continuation of the Far Horizons series. Caroline a young socialite from Scotland has the chance to move to Boston to enjoy the society there. Her perilous journey begins on the ship where she meets a young widow Eleanor. This book is about both Eleanor and Caroline finding true love in the new world. You also get to enjoy how Ian’s and Harriette’s lives have progressed since the first book in the series The Heart Goes On. This is a historical romance novel taking place in the early 1800’s. The development of the characters is involved and interesting where everything turns out for the best as in any such romance novel. I will read the third in the series because I want to find out what happens to Isabel, Ian’s jilted lover.
This is excellent historical fiction. It's the sequel to Far Horizons and the conclusion to the immigrant series. This is a beautifully written book filled with love, hope, fear and heartbreaking loss. I loved it.
I would like to start out by saying that this is a beautifully written book filles with love, hope, fear and heartbreaking loss. What an inspiring journey. I guarantee that you will require some tissues close at hand. Kate Hewitt's second installment of her trilogy is wonderfully rich, with well-developed characters and plot lines and richly worded, you feel like you're sliding into a nice hot bath. These characters become your friends by the time you finish reading the book. I truly didn't want to put it down.
I would like to thank Kate Hewitt, Bookouture and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
