Bree is a FBI agent on leave trying to find the man that killed her half sister. She is in Texas working undercover in a strip joint. The man she believes is the murderer, comes into the club. She gets her partner Carlos to come and help. He gets shot and is in a coma. Now she must find her sister’s killer and the man who shot Carlos. Connor is a cop and works in the cold case department. He and his partners agree to help Bree. Both grew up without fathers and blame themselves for their partners injuries. But as everything starts to come to a head, Connor must figure out if loving Bree is worth the heartache he’s afraid he’ll get.
Excellent story. Did not want to stop reading it. You have action, suspense, humor, and some steamy sex. Bree is tough but with a heart of gold. Connor is sexy and protective. This is the third book in the series. There is a happy ending and several surprises.

I've enjoyed this series. The men are especially attractive. Real men, really good cops, and nice guys. Bree's mean to being hired with the FBI seemed a bit unrealistic as did her doing her own investigation while on leave. Her motivation to find her sister's murderer was gripping and I enjoyed the story. The story had great good buys, really abhorrent bad guys, tons of intense action and a hard won happily ever after. Any reader who likes suspense and romance will enjoy this book.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a Christie Craig book and now I’m wondering why I’ve let so much time pass by. Don’t Look Back is the third book in her Texas Justice series about three cold case detectives in Texas. In each book one of the detectives meets a woman who changes his life and falls in love. This book is the story of Detective Connor Pierce and FBI agent Brie Ryan. Each of these books can be read as a standalone.

In this story Brie is working undercover at at strip club, trying to find out what happened to her murdered sister. She and Connor are thrown together when her investigation goes bad. They must work together to crack a dangerous human trafficking case. Connor has troubling issues of his own after his partner was killed three years ago, but soon learns that the gutsy and outspoken FBE agent is someone he needs in his life permanently.

This book easily kept my interest and I finished it in one day. It was a good story with likable characters. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read it. I gave it three and a half stars rounded up to four. #NetGalley #DontLookBack

I LOVE this story. Christie grips you from the very beginning and I did not want to put this down until the very end. This story is the 3rd book in the series but can be easily read as a stand-alone (you'll want to go back and read the other though so get ready!). Brie and Connor are so right for each other and work together to beat the bad guys. I wish I could give this one more than 5 stars!

I have read some books by this author and have enjoyed them. However, this book just didn't work for me. The characters were okay but kind of flat and the mystery part not very interesting. Just couldn't get into the story. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

This is the third book in the Texas Justice series and my 3rd read by this author. In this book, we follow Brie and Connor as they search for Brie's sister's killer. They find themselves entangled in a case with human trafficking, a leak within law enforcement, and undercover work. Between Connor's commitment issues and Brie's drive to solve the case, the two find themselves fighting their attraction to each other. There is some action, but I wouldn't call the story suspenseful since we know the bad guy and such. However, they solve the case and there is a HEA so what is not to like? I am unsure if the series continues or if it is just a trilogy. The story lends itself to the possibility of at least spinoffs.

I received a copy of Don't Look Back by Christie Craig from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first novel by Christie Craig that I had read and I jumped into an on-going series. Happily, this could have been a standalone (which is good) as it didn't take long to figure out the existing characters and how they fit together as the plot developed.

The plot should have interesting based on the summary, but it could have been smoothed out for a more cohesive read. The characters had promise, but not much believability or appeal (as a couple or as individuals). If the plot was smoothed out, it might help with that as well. As it was, they were rather one dimensional and kind of bland.

I received an advance copy of, Don't Look Back, by Christie Craig. This is book 3 of 3 in the Texas Justice series. I did not care for this book, I did not like the language or the characters.

This series has been my intro to Christie Craig and after really liking the second book I couldn’t wait to read cold case detective Connor Pierce’s story in Don’t Look Back.

A built, attractive police officer with commitment & guilt issues, Connor is basically asking to fall in love 🤣. Only he wouldn’t see it that way.

He’s been avoiding it since his wife divorced him, and after he killed a teen involved in a drug-dealing related shootout.

But he can’t help his attraction to Brie Ryan, an FBI agent who’s gone undercover trying to find out more about her sister’s murder.

Violent events bring them together on an investigation.

The chemistry between Connor & Brie is fun to watch & I love how Craig plays with their romantic pacing with Connor’s actions (though I do think Brie acts a bit immaturely in response.)

Brie had me cheering with her unwillingness to settle for scraps, with how she stands up for herself & her needs & wants.

The mysteries are intriguing & it was a distracting read post-election which I appreciated, but I also have a couple of issues with the book. I don’t quite understand how Brie got her FBI job—how she became exactly qualified her for the position—& there’s a moment with some sexist jokes that annoyed me.

Overall I enjoyed this one & will definitely read more by Christie Craig, but the second book is definitely my fave of the series.

[CWs: this book has quite a lot of violence & violent images. References to rape. Reference to miscarriage.]

3.5 ⭐️. Don't Look Back is out on 12/15. Thanks to Forever Pub & Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.
