I do like a ghost story. I was never really sure of the truth from the first installment. I sometimes felt our ghost was holding back and whole lot of the events that led to his death and the reason he needs Rebecca's help. I was right on those accounts, but it wasn't for the reason I was thinking. It was a nice second book and the setting was switched up a bit.
Sadly a novel that didn’t work so well. There’s potential in the storyline and with the characters but it’s not executed to the level needed. The author goes for the easy route ever time - overheard conversations, convenient finding of clues - it just becomes too much to suspend the disbelief. Finished but not a fan.
I was a big fan of RUINED, of the haunting atmosphere, of the history that permeated every page of the book. As that book wrapped up nicely for me I was curious to see if I would enjoy the sequel just as much. While I was happy to see Anton again, and Ling was a welcome addition to the cast, I found the murder mystery this time less enthralling than in the first book.
