So not only is this my first Atlee Pine read, it’s my first novel by David Baldacci and boy I may be late to the party but glad I got there.

The aforementioned Pine is a female FBI agent in her 30s with a troubled family history. Here she continues the pursuit of her missing twin sister Mercy, missing since they were 6 years old.

Her enquiries have her cross paths with an army CID officer, John Puller, who is pursuing a similar lead and she ends up helping him along the way, where they uncover what starts off as a drug ring and ends up in much darker places of abuse, blackmail, murder and corruption up to the highest level!
Can they uncover the conspiracy before they become targets themselves and will it lead Atlee any closer to finding out what happened to her sister?

As a first time reader to this series, there was a hell of a lot to take in. A huge back story obviously, it took me a while to get up to speed but this is very readable as a stand alone.

The pace on this is relentless. There’s a huge amount squeezed in here and you will be exhausted by the end.(in a good way). The intricacy of the storytelling is hugely impressive as we are left dizzy with deeper and deeper layers of narrative, all delivered at an electric pace. There’s also a huge cast of characters, some major and some very minor but it somehow seems to work seamlessly, never being confusing or tripping over itself.

The main characters are very well written and Pine is a great central character to tie the whole thing together.

I really enjoyed this one. I’m only sorry I hadn’t read the first two in the series beforehand.

Many thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I received a copy from Netgalley for a honest review of Daylight by David Baldacci.
Book 3 of Atlee Pine series and arguably one of the best as of now. John Puller also plays an parallel important role and it's good to see more of his brother Robert in action, have been a fan of his geekiness. The story of Atlee's search for her sister Mercy continues in this series and with more information both about her family's past and her sisters, the author has certainly made the book a standout.
Would definitely recommend this book.

I have just read this book hot on the heels of the new Hurwitz book (due next February) and the new Rankin book just published. These are probably my favourite authors for an entertaining read as I think that they're the best in their field. Each this time had a strong family aspect to the story (agent-X with his mother, Rebus with his daughter and Agent Pine with her sister).

As ever the writing is very good in all tree books. If I had to chose one I'd probably chose the Hurwitz book as I think that his writing is becoming stronger through each book in a similar way to the Rebus stories becoming stronger. If I'd read the first Rebus book first (I didn't as they have been running for many years) I'm not sure if I'd continues as I felt that it was a bit unsure of itself. Baldacci on the other hand seems to relish writing a number of different series of books in tandem, leapfrogging between them.

Having said all that I did enjoy the book in a stay up reading it at 2am way! The story developed with skill and a few twists and turns along the way, and the ending felt better than the Agent-X one IMO, which felt a little rushed and cliched.

It's hard to review a book without giving away any story lines, but you really can't go wrong with Baldacci, and Agent Pine is one of my favourite characters in his books.

Fantastic read. I have been enjoying this series immensely. Daylight is a great addition to the series. Also, we get John Puller in Daylight. Atlee is still looking for her sister. That story advances in Daylight. Seriously cannot wait for the next book.

This is David Baldacci novel #26 for me. Yep! I am a fan! (My favorite characters are John Puller, Amos Decker, and Will Robie. But Atlee is growing on me)

This is Book #3 in the Atlee Pine series. FBI Special Agent Altee Pine has been searching for her twin sister Mercy, who was kidnapped when she was six. Altee was left for dead. When the kidnapper was trying to decided which twin to take, he recited this nursey rhyme
Eeny Meeny Miny Moe
Catch a tiger by the toe
Eeny Meeny Miny Moe
My mother told me to pick the very best one and that is you.
Atlee often wondered what the best was ~ Being taking or left for dead.

Altee seems to find new troubles while tracking down leads. In this case, the Army is involved. I am delighted that one of my favorite characters John Puller has teamed up to help!

As I mentioned this is my third; the first was okay, the second was better, and yes this has made an Atlee fan. I really like the Atlee and Puller connection. However, it was what Atlee and her partner Carol Blum uncover about Mercy’s disappearance that had me on the edge of my chair!!

Want to thank NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing – Random House for this early release granted in exchange for an honest professional review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Attlee Pine continues her search for her sister, getting assistance from John Puller when she runs into a snag. The story moves fast but ties up a lot of loose ends regarding the kidnapping. If you are a David Baldacci fan, it will be worth a read.

I'm a big fan of Baldacci as well as a fan of this series. It's nice to have a female protagonist who is a total badass. I am also a big fan of what Baldacci has done the last couple of books when he brings in other characters from different series for cameos. Atlee Pine is easy to root for and is a great character. I look forward to see in what direction Baldacci takes her.

FBI Agent Atlee Pine rocks!
I so want her to meet up with Jack Reacher!
I have to say.....David Baldacci, YOU are my favorite author.
I guess I need to write a review now and all I can think to say is, you need to read the Atlee Pine series.
Daylight is the third book in the Atlee Pines series. I recommend you read the books in order as there is a lot of back story to Atlee Pines life.
The family dynamics going on are mind boggling and gripping. So much going on within this story.....murder, blackmail, drugs, prostitution and more.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I need it now!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and author, David Baldacci, for the opportunity to read and give my honest review about this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

My dad has been reading and recommending David Baldacci to me for YEARS and I didn’t listen. After reading Daylight, I am seriously beating myself up for that. This is book 3 in the Atlee Pines series but I was able to easily follow along. There is a brief description in the beginning which caught me up quickly. I definitely do want to go back and read the first two books now of course because this was so good.

Atlee Pine, a FBI agent, and John Puller, an Army CID agent, are long-time friends that end up working together when their cases cross paths. Atlee is searching for a her twin sister that was kidnapped as a child and John has been looking into a drug ring. There were several twists and turns in this one with non-stop action and a shocking ending. Daylight was a suspenseful fast paced thrill ride filled with political corruption and non-stop action. Basically I couldn’t put it down and lost several hours of sleep turning the pages to find out what happens. The characters were complex and well developed while also being very likable. I can’t wait to find out what happens in book 4!

Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Atlee Pine is an FBI agent assigned to a remote outpost in Arizona. Each book deals with a different case of hers, but also continues her quest to find out more about what happened to her twin sister who was kidnapped when they were only six years old. This is the third book in the series and was my favorite of the three.

In Daylight, Pine accidentally impedes a case of John Puller, a military investigator in the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (and star of another Baldacci series). Pine and Puller’s join forces as their investigations, her personal search for her sister and his into a military drug ring, have overlapping elements. I won’t give away any of the many twists but I will say this book is non stop action. I didn’t want to put it down once I started it and when the truth about what happened to Mercy is finally revealed I was shocked! I can’t wait to find out what happens next in book 4!

There is a brief history around events from past books so that you could read this as a stand alone, but I don’t think it would be as enjoyable without all of the background and details you learn in the first two books.

Daylight will be released on November 17th. Plenty of time to quickly read the first two books in the series if you haven’t already! 🙂Thank you to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for the opportunity to read this eARC.

David Baldacci NEVER disappoints and his latest might be my favorite. LOVED this book from the first page until the very last. Highly recommend for a book that will keep you turning page after page after page until the very end.

For many years now, FBI Agent Atlee Pine has been searching for a clue to the location of her sister who was kidnapped. When she gets a lead, it takes her into a situation that is fraught with danger. She lands in the middle of one of fellow agent John Puller's investigation and arrest.

She finds her search is tied to Puller's. She, too, is on the trail of Ito Vincenzo.

This book is filled with action, bad guys, crooked politicians, danger and a threat to the very country they serve. (Kind of like real life, eh?)

As are all of Mr. Baldacci's books, this one is very well written, plotted and is exciting. (Do I stay awake and read or not? Will I remember anything if I do?) I really like Puller and Atlee. They seem like honest, competent agents. And I applaud Puller's remark about social media. I don't have Facebook or those other instant messaging platforms for that very reason. I like the action in the book, but the conspiracy stuff frightened me a little, given the current state of US politics I am very worried.

I want to thank NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for forwarding to me a copy of this very good book for me to read, enjoy and review.

"Sometimes dredging up the past can be more devastating than people realize."

This book left me completely stunned. I stayed up late to finish it and then just sat there for a while, trying to recover from the sucker punch that is the ending. It was that good. Definitely my favorite Atlee book so far!

Atlee Pine continues to find out what happened to her twin sister, who was abducted from their bedroom when they where children. But every time she takes one step closer to solving the mystery of what happened to her, something new and even more horrifying comes to light. The man definitely knows to keep his readers hooked and anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

This time, Atlee stumbles over an investigation of John Puller's (who also has his own thrilling series), and the two team up to uncover a conspiracy of epic proportions. And the worst thing about it (for me) was that I think with everything that is going on in the world right now, this book became a lot more depressingly realistic than others before. Exhibit A: Atlee's anger and frustration with a world that sits by quietly while a black teenager is shot by a cop because he "looked threatening":

"The world was filled with enough injustices every day to make you want to pull your hair and scream at the country's leaders to do something."

Or Puller's remark about social media, which has him questioning how his country is to survive as the free nation he believes in:

"Social media has absolutely nothing to do with the truth. It has to do with making shitloads of money off ads trying to sell people crap they don't need. But the terrible by-product of that is giving a global platform to the absolute worst elements of society. The result is that "truth" is whatever you can convince people it is. It's exactly what Orwell wrote about."

This book had me completely hooked from the first chapter, and watching Atlee and John fight for what is right was extremely satisfying. I think this might be one of my favorite Baldaccis to date!

Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the eARC.
This is the third in the FBI Agent Atlee Pine series, and my first David Baldacci book. I'm sorry I jumped in late in the story of the traumatic abduction of Atlee's twin sister, Mercy, but it seems after an interminable search into Mercy's disappearance, there are finally more answers.
There's a lot going on, although I found the personal family parts in the book the most gripping and Atlee a compelling, sympathetic character. It is a wild ride, very suspenseful read that I enjoyed a lot.

Daylight is the third Atlee Pine FBI thriller novel. Here, Agent Pine is following leads on a personal quest to find her missing sister, Mercy, in a plotline obviously developed in the first two novels in the series. In the course of investigating such leads, Agent Pine crosses paths with an Army CID officer simultaneously pursuing the same lead in an unrelated case. Indeed, after they join forces, they stumble into a gigantic coverup of epic proportions.

The storyline involving searching for Mercy may be a bit confusing at first for those who didn’t dip into the previous novels. It eventually becomes clear, but is quite a complex background story.

Mostly what makes this novel work is the nonstop action which keeps the pages turning. Pine, like all storybook heroes, is a force to be reckoned with.

While Baldacci is a popular author of long standing, I have only happened to read the Atlee Pine series, this being the third. I love the character of the intrepid FBI agent Atlee. Her cunning and strength cast her as a female Jack Reacher. Women will appreciate vicariously sharing her close calls and victories! The many-faceted plot of Daylight is thrilling and mostly believable. As escapist lit it’s excellent. I probably overanalyzed the dialogue, as in several instances I found it strained. Likewise a few plot events to me seemed chronologically unlikely. But Atlee Pine’s relentless quest to find her twin sister who was kidnapped over thirty years previously carries the book to its amazing conclusions.

This is number 3 in the series, and it's the best so far. The plot is very intricate, but there's no problem following it, and the story has a very fast pace with lots of action. Like always, the writing and the characters are excellent.

Atlee Pine’s life has revolved around the disappearance of her sister since the day Mercy was kidnapped. Now an FBI agent, Atlee is ready to succumb to pressure to put the case behind her just as a new and promising suspect emerges. She rushes to the kidnappers last known address and unknowingly stumbles into another agent’s investigation into a drug ring. It would appear that Ito Vincenzo has more than kidnapping and drug dealing on his agenda, as the agents uncover a plot to destabilize the free world. Baldacci knows what his fans like, fast, furious action, and he delivers in his latest thriller

This is the third of David Baldacci's FBI agent Atlee Pine series, a woman traumatised from childhood when her twin sister, Mercy, was abducted in Andersonville, Georgia. At long last, harrowing daylight is shed on what happened Mercy after her abduction. Pine has been granted a few further days by her FBI boss, Clint Dobbs, for her and her administrative support, Carol Blum, to continue looking into what happened to Mercy. She is further forward in what she now knows, she is certain that Ito Vincenzo, the brother of brutal mobster, Bruno, a man incarcerated and killed in prison, was responsible for her sister's abduction. Ito disappeared some time ago, so Pine tracks down his remaining family for leads, his son Teddy is in prison, so she turns up at the home of his grandson, Tommy.

Atlee finds she has inadvertently stumbled on a military operation to arrest Tommy for drug dealing, her appearance allowing Tommy an opportunity to escape. The military CID officer in charge is a man Pine is familiar with, John Puller. The Vincenzo connection leads to a guilt ridden Pine and Puller to join forces, even though Pine is only interested in specific and limited information that Tommy and Teddy may have on Ito and his current whereabouts, if he was still alive. The pair of them have no idea of the dangers they will find themselves in as they pull at the threads of the drugs inquiry. Key figures of interest keep ending up dead, and Puller faces what appear to be insurmountable obstacles in his path, obstacles that stink to high heaven of the highest levels of political interference, obstacles so powerful that they can remove a 4 star military general from his position when he starts asking questions for Puller. Pine and Puller find themselves targets of a global political conspiracy with tentacles at the heart of every institution at the heart of American justice and democracy.

Whilst the global conspiracy is an exciting, fast paced and compelling thrill ride aspect of this novel, it is perhaps Pine's personal family history and what she uncovers that really catches the reader's attention. She is relentless in turning over every stone and rock as she finds much of the certainty she had about her father and mother begins to dissipate the more she discovers. Her blood father, the wealthy Jack Lineberry, who managed her family under the witness protection process to safeguard them, is currently suffering from poor health and never managed to locate who was leaking information about their whereabouts. Pine will be put off by nothing as she traces the leak and gets a confession. This is a wonderfully enlightening addition to the Atlee Pine series that I think many crime and thriller readers will enjoy. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

Puller and Pine are back! As Atlee continues the search for her missing twin, she gets sidetracked by a complex murder/blackmail/conspiracy/drug case in NYC. The case is a complicated web that reaches to the halls of congress and beyond. The non-stop action is tense and an addictive read. But even when it’s over, Atlee still needs to find her sister, back to Andersonville she goes...
