So I didn't absolutely fall in love with this, but I did enjoy it. I loved the premise! Who doesn't love Hallmark movies?! And this is very much in the vein of that idea. Heck, it's even referenced several times in this that this or that is straight out of a Hallmark movie. And if Hallmark was a little edgier this would fit in perfectly. There is a lot of language in this. Now, I'm not a prude by any means, and a well placed curse word can do wonders for fleshing out a character. But this just felt wrong for the theme. The romance was interesting! It was most definitely spicy and unique and a lot more detailed than a Hallmark movie. And that was what I assumed would happen, so no complaints about that. There is some dirty talk in this which really wasn't that dirty, maybe for a princess. It certainly worked for her. I really liked Leo! I felt like he was real and present in every scene. Marie was sweet and sheltered and that was perfect for this plot. I felt sorry for both of them and just wanted that happily ever after. The epilogue was entertaining and I so wanted to see a wedding take place, but we didn't get that and that has to take away a rating for not meeting that expectation. I'm sad and salty about this. But... this is a perfect holiday read!

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins for the ARC.
So this book is everything I want in a Christmas book. It is basically a Hallmark Christmas movie, but with sex. 😂 A Princess for Christmas tells the story of Princess Marie of Eldovia (perfect name), who is late for an important party and is forced to have cab driver, Leo Ricci, get her there. Of course, they HAVE A CONNECTION and Princess Marie offers Leo, a brother who is struggling to take care of his little sister after the death of their parents, a large amount of money to drive her to appointments during her stay in the city. We all know what happens.
I loved every second of it. Hallmark is referenced multiple times in the book and it is hilarious. Eldovia is everything you want in a made-up Hallmark country. There is a hot cocoa ball, a village that takes Christmas extremely seriously, random festivals, etc. The romance is Hallmark-worthy, until it takes a sharp turn into HBO territory. There’s banter, tropes galore, and dramatic professions of love.
Overall, A Princess for Christmas is a fun, warm, and hilarious Christmas romcom that every Hallmark lover must read. I need the sequel.
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This books seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis....it can't decide if it wants to be a Hallmark movie or soft porn, and the combination of the two just doesn't work. About halfway through, the book turns from a sweet, funny read into something a lot more x-rated...and my biggest problem with this is that there is nothing to indicate this on the book blurb. There are a lot of readers who will be upset by this abrupt change in writing style. The book would warrant more stars for the actual story, were it not for it's split personality.
This book makes me happy sigh. It truly is a Hallmark channel Christmas movie, plus the F bomb and dirty shenanigans. In short, it's close to perfect.
He's a cabbie from the Bronx, she's a princess from a tiny country in Europe. The laughs are plentiful and the angst is low.
Plus, there's a ton of chocolate.
3.5 stars - I have been hearing great things about this author, so I thought I would dip my toes in with her with one of my favorite kinds of contemporary romances... a Christmas romance. This was really fun- it reads basically like a Hallmark movie but with dirty talk. Works for me! Looking forward to more from this author
Such a happy story-the perfect christmas fairytale. Lots of humor, heat, lovable characters and a wonderful HEA. When you are in need of a feel good, pick-me-up read this is your book! And, is it true that there will be more Jenny Holiday christmas stories? I certainly hope so! They will definitely go on my “must read” list.
This is a slow-burn kind of romance and I am so here for it. It was such a sweet book and I really hope it's made into a movie.
A Princess for Christmas is a delightful "hallmark movie in book form"! Leo Ricci drives a cab in NYC to provide for his sister when out of the blue a princess asks him to be her driver during her stay in New York. Princess Marie of has no business hailing a cab outside the UN but she the situation demands it. Marie finds Leo to be gruff but charming and Leo thinks that Marie could use a friend. As their friendship blossoms can they truly connect with each other in the real world and not their New York City bubble or will Leo have to put his family first and Marie her country? This all makes for a fun and enthralling read!
Yes! A hallmark Christmas movie in book form! I loved it! And I like how it was spun around so that the princess was already the princess! Thank you to netgalley for the arc.
I am an absolute sucker for Hallmark Christmas movies, so this book is right up my alley. I loved it! It is the perfect holiday romance with characters that I adored. It is a quick, sweet read that I recommend to anyone wanting to cozy up with some romance! I love it!
A Christmas Hallmark themed romance story? HELL YEAH. I can’t begin to explain just how excited I was to read this book after reading the premise. I am a huge sucker for Hallmark Christmas movies, and this sounded right up my alley ( in fact one of my favorite hallmark movies is called A Princess for Christmas starring Katie McGrath and Sam Heughan)! The story is about a guy named Leo who one day picks up princess Marie due to his sister’s insistence, and thus begins their adventure into a holiday romance. Leo and Marie both have great chemistry and I enjoyed reading from both of their perspectives, especially as they’re assumptions of each other changed and they began to fall in love. Throw in an adorable sister, an impending royal marriage, a distant father, and many christmas shenanigans, and what we have is some royal christmas fun! Marie was a charming and strong protagonist who is struggling with her royal duties and the anniversary of the death of her mother. Leo is a gallant but a bit gruff love interest, who, after digging a bit has the softest heart and is so sweet and gentle with his sister. Leo is struggling to make sure his little sister has the best childhood while also trying to make ends meet and dealing with the grief of his parents deaths and a sudden new princess dropped into his lap that offers him a payday of a lifetime to just drive her around, all the while he finds himself falling for her. The characters are enjoyable and complex, both dealing with lots of heavy and tragic aspects in their lives, while slowly opening up to one another, but faced with the giant obstacle that is not only status but if either of them is ready to fully fall in love. I absolutely enjoyed this holiday read and definitely got the Hallmark Christmas movie warmth from this story. I loved the way it wrapped up and honestly would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a sweet holiday romance!

This was the perfect Christmas romance. It was fun and romantic, and I loved the Hallmark channel references. I am always up for a royal romance.
Everyone makes their own choices, and my choice was, this book wasn't for me. I was looking for a sweet and fun romance and figured this sounded like a Hallmark movie in the form of a book. But after 2 chapters it had gone way past my swearing threshold so I chose to DNF this book.
If swearing doesn't bother you, then you will probably love this book. I really liked the characters of Leo, Gabby and Marie and felt they were genuine.
This is a sweet book about a family that has been on hard times. It's a nice cozy holiday romance. I could have sworn I watched this as a Christmas movie or perhaps it was just something like it. Anyway, very likeable characters. It does have some brief undertones of political subjects but nothing that would distract the reader from the heartwarming story.
Funny, sweet, and a bit sexy, this book has it all. I loved every page of it and frequently found myself smiling while reading. The characters had depth and were engaging - I found myself invested in their story and wanting them to get a HEA ending.
If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. As the author herself stated, it's like a Hallmark movie in book form, with more sexiness, but the obligatory princess of a make believe country is well represented. Add it the rakish Max, the bff Dani, and of course, the most adorable little sister Gabby, and this book has it all. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.
This one is a must read for romance fans. The author is on my must read authors' list.
This contemporary fairy tale romance is pure pleasure and fun, when a New York City cab driver with hidden talents reluctantly stops to pick up a princess from a small fictional European country in desperate need of a fast ride to a business meeting on a yacht. It only gets better from that point, and luckily this is the first in a new series. Highly recommended.
