Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of A PAGE MARKED FOR MURDER (Book 5 of the Beyond the Page Bookstore Mysteries) by Lauren Elliott in exchange for an honest review. Addie Greyborne is looking forward to enjoying the annual Fire and Ice festival. However, the beginning of the festival brings complications. Addie ends up dog-sitting for a friend who is injured and has to go to the hospital. Then, someone steals a rare first edition copy of The Secret Garden from that friend’s home. Next, Addie and a local homeless man discover a dead man in the alley between Addie’s bookstore and the bakery next door. When the bakery owner, Martha, is arrested for the homicide and local law enforcement becomes a roadblock to justice, Addie decides to find the killer. Now, Addie’s looking at her friends and evaluating them for motive, means, and opportunity. Will Addie’s investigation identify the killer as one of the shady visitors connected to the deceased, or will the murderer be found closer to home?
I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend the book to fans of the series and to fans of Lauren Elliot. I recommend the series to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, bookstores, books, small towns, and being a new resident in a closely-knit community.

This is one of my favorite series . Addie is one great amateur sleuth . I love her board. The victim in this book is Brett, He is Paige's daughter Emma's father . He is back in town this week end and so is Paige's father Ken. Anyway, people in the town see Brett and Amber arguing with someone name Jared. The night of the getting ready for the burn the Christmas tree celebration. Addie sees Bill, who is homeless behind Martha's bakery little does she know that Brett is there and is dead. She calls for help and so the sleuthing begins. This is a page turner as you don't know who done it until the very end . A great cozy mystery. I am anxiously awaiting the next one.
Not much to it. Moves along in a linear manner but nothing happens. It bored me
Thank you netgalley & the publisher for giving me this arc
This was the quintessential example of the perfect cozy book series. I've been reading this from the beginning and loved every book that Lauren Elliott puts out, including this one! Read it in 2 days. It was just good as the rest in the series.
I enjoy this mystery series because of the characters and their ongoing lives. The mysteries themselves are quite good because I can never figure out who the murderer is.
What I don’t like at all is Addie’s constant putting up with her cousin, family or not, as she continually uses and abuses Addie. What I dislike even more is Addie always backing down at the end and letting her cousin get away with “murder” by not replacing groceries, letting her stay more than a week etc. It really taints my enjoyment of this series.
In this installment Addie’s friend Grace falls off a ladder leaving Addie to watch her dog, the man who sired Paige’s daughter returns to town demanding full custody of her daughter at the same time Paige’s no good father shows up as well. And when someone is murdered, Martha, Addie’s old nemesis turned friend, is suspected of the crime. Although there are 4 stars, I think it’s really only a 3.5., and that’s only because of Addie’s relationship with her cousin.
The latest edition to the Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery series is another great read. Check in with Addie, Paige, Serena, Marc, Simon, Martha and the others in beautiful seaside Greyborne Harbor to find out what's happening after the Christmas holiday. The big Fire and Ice festival is being planned and is sure to attract a lot of tourists, and some former town residents, who come to this cozy oceanfront town with plans to celebrate ... and some have more nefarious plans. When a body is found and a local, or two, or three are being eyed as the killer, it's up to Addie to find out what really happened and why. The story is full of interesting twists and turns, lots of intriguing family drama for the main character and her friends as well. A definite good read! Now I can't wait for book 6 to come out!
Love this series. Abbie owns a bookstore and when there is an accident she helps foster a dog. Then a murder happens and she sets out to investigate on her own. The chief of police is not happy with her doing it. Will she solve the murder before they strike again?
A Page Marked for Murder by Lauren Elliot is BOok 5 in the fantastic Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery Series.
I absolutely love this series.
Addie is back in the story and there are multiple mysteries to be solved both focusing on her assistant Paige.
I enjoyed that a rare book was included in this story. I loved the setting.
The story was perfectly paced with well written characters.
I highly recommend this book and all books in this series.
Addie is back in action to try and solve a couple of different mysteries that both surround her faithful assistant, Paige! Addie needs to solve both mysteries quickly or Paige's life may be irreparably be changed and not for the better! I love that the rare book featured in this story is my childhood favorite, The Secret Garden! The town, the bookstore, the characters are all wonderfully crafted to be so realistic that I want to move there and become friends with them! The storyline is well crafted to keep you guessing at who the villain or villains may be. Once again everyone tries to tell Addie to stay out of the investigation, but how can she when someone she cares about is in danger of having heart broken by the events unfolding!?! Then again, if she gets to close to the killer they may just shut her investigation down permanently by adding her to the list of the dead! If you haven't started this series yet, you are seriously missing out! This author knows how to weave a great story and create endearing characters that you just can't let go!
The fifth book in the Beyond the Page Bookstore cozy mystery series, and it should be read in order. You get to learn more about the recurring characters. This story focused on Addie and a missing book, The Secret Garden. Add in a murder and you have an intriguing story to solve. I was captivated by the words and the story that Lauren Elliot wove. Fast paced and gripping enough to keep me focused to the very surprising ending.
I'm new to this series but I can't wait to go back and read earlier entries because I enjoyed the characters and the setting. the plotting was done well and the book kept me reading so I could finish it in one sitting. Highly recommend!
Addie owns a bookstore in Greystone Harbor, Mass. To celebrate Epiphany the town holds a Christmas tree bonfire on the beach and an weekend ice carving festival. Her assistant Paige has a daughter Emma and lives with her mother Martha. Martha owns the bakery next door.
One of the townspeople is injured decorating for the festival and when Addie goes to her home to pick up some things for her for her hospital stay she discovers a rare and valuable copy of "The Secret Garden" which she finds out belongs to Paige.
Two surprise visitors attend the festival. Martha's husband who skipped out on her years ago and the father of Paige's daughter. There is no love lost between Martha and Emma's father and when he later found murdered she is the number 1 suspect. "The Secret Garden" also goes missing. Are they related?
There are a lot of strings to follow and I don't think Addie solves the mystery as much as she stumbled on who done it and why and I think I guessed right about the same time she did.
Well, I wasn’t the killer to turn out to be who it was, so well done there. I enjoyed getting a better peek into Paige’s past as well as a chance to catch up on everyone else. Except cousin Kalea. She drives me insane and I wish they're remove her because she's super annoying to me. Other than that, the series continues to grow on me!
This was a new to me author, but it won't be my last. I will be going back to read the other books in this series. I enjoyed the characters and small town. It also had a great mystery.
I am addicted to this series about a woman who inherited a house and a book store in a small town, and when there’s a murder, she’s a sleuth. The characters are likable, or not, depending on the circumstances, and the events are very believable. The descriptions of the area make me want to visit. I am never able to figure out who the offender is, and lots of twists make it nearly impossible. In this particular book, it was someone far from my mind. I recommend this book, and the series, to anyone who likes cozy mysteries? This book can be read as a stand-alone, but it would be more fun to start with the first book in the Beyond the Bookstore mystery series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Kensington Books. All opinions expressed are my own.
A stolen valuable book, a dead body, too many suspects. A homeless vet who knows more than he's telling,. Is he afraid or protecting the main suspect.? Are these crimes related? Or two different events? Addison (Addie)Greyborne is trying to figure things out so an innocent person doesn't go to jail. But is that person really innocent? Or has a mother bear gone too far trying to protect her off spring? Why doesn't Addie just let the police handle the case? Can she figure things out and stay safe? Maybe.
A First Edition, A Dead Body....
A Beyond The Page Bookstore mystery and the fifth in the series. Addie is busy with preparations for the big Winter festival but sinister events soon take over. A valuable first edition and a dead body make for a mystery Addie is desperate to solve. With a likeable protagonist, a colourful cast of supporting characters and a delightful backdrop this is a fun read and a worthy addition to the series.
I love Lauren Elliott's book covers, and they draw me into the story. Another great addition to the series. A Page Marked for Murder is book 5 in the series, and it doesn't disappoint. This book can be read as a standalone, but you might want to start from the beginning so you won't miss getting to know these wonderful characters.
There are lots of secrets and good storytelling to keep you turning the pages well into the night. The characters are realistic, have great personalities, and are relatable. The scenery transports me right into the thick of the story and keeps me wanting more.
I look forward to the next book.

Christmas is over and Greybourne Harbor is gearing up for their Annual Fire and Ice festival to kick off the new year. As the town collects old Christmas trees for a bonfire and ice sculptors head into town, the whole town is busy preparing for the first festival of the new year.
Paige’s father comes back to town after 20 years and the father of her daughter Emma also hits town with his new love interest, adding stress for Paige’s entire family. When the ex is found murdered in the back of the family bakery, Momma Martha is the prime suspect. Addie vows to do her best to find the murderer before Martha is convicted of a crime she didn’t commit and hopes she won’t end up the next victim.
I adore this series and treasure each new release. Superb writing, a solid who done it and characters that feel like friends keep me coming back to Greybourne Harbor ever time.
This is by far the best book in the series. From the vibrant book cover, to the words written between the pages, Ms. Elliot has created a world full of fun and friendships, which also includes a bit of mystery and intrigue.
Addie has always had a tumultuous relationship with bakery owner Martha Stringer, but when Martha finders herself start the top of the suspect list, she has no choice but to depend on Addie to solve the mystery surrounding the death of her granddaughter’s father.
Lies, secrets and murder fill the pages of this book, and you will find yourself reading late into the night.
I am really looking forward to reading the next book in this fantastic series.
Addie owns a bookstore and lives in a beautiful Victorian house. My dream.
While going to work one morning a friends dog runs to get her. Her friend is laying under a ladder in the snow.
Addie ends up dog sitting.
Of coarse, she stumbles across a body behind her store and her neighbor store.
She can't help, but get involved.
Then a rare book goes missing.
Despite being told to stay out of it she noses into it
Addie and Simon are cute together. Paige and her daughter are sweet.
