I always forget how much I enjoy this series until I read another book in it; I love the slower pace and how everyone is so thoughtful instead of impulsive. And the fact that they’re a group of women of different ages and and different stages of their lives. It’s great to read about a group of people who care and trust, instead of leaping to crazy conclusions. The mysteries are always well thought out and this one is no exception.

This is the first I have read in Sally Goldenbaum's A Seaside Knitters Society Mystery series and I was enthralled. The author's prose is so evocative and engaging, I was hooked from the first page. I had a bit of a struggle keeping everyone straight at first, but soon settled into the rhythm of the writing style and cherished each page. There is a sense of hope and an overriding kindness in 'A Crime of a Different Stripe', coupled with a darkness that poor choices can evoke. Overall it was wonderful, and I am going to seek out the previous offerings in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

The Seaside Knitters Society series is one of my favorites and how I first discovered the wonderful world of cozy mysteries. this book did not disappoint. It was just as enjoyable and satisfying as the earlier books. The writing did feel a little different with this book but not in a bad way. I definitely recommend this book and series. Thank you NetGalley for the change to read and review.

Back in Sea Harbor with everyone to celebrate the artist gallery with a famed photographer as a speaker--what could go wrong? Clearly, a murder. I found this story to be more about Izzy & Cass, especially with Cass expecting! The characters are old friends, and the story flowed. Twists & turns, why did Sam not care for his former professor, and who are they newcomers--murderers or friends? I found less dinners at Nell & Ben's house, which was interesting. It did not take away from the story, just a different flow that previous/earlier books.
As always, love a Sally Goldenbaum story! Thanks to Kensington Books & NetGalley for the e-book pre-read in exchange for an honest review. A perfect cozy-mystery series, that I would recommend.

A philandering photographer, prenatal yoga classes, a reclusive neighbor and murder all add to the tensions and mystery in this fourth installment of Goldenbaum's Seaside Knitters Society Series. After a slow beginning the story picks up and grabs the reader with all the of mystery's convolutions.
While this becomes a good story, it may help to read the other three books first in order to become acquainted with the many characters. A satisfying cozy.

I was given this ebook to read by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for this early read.
This is a new series for me so it was a bit hard to get into the story but I did find the list of characters in the beginning helpful. I am not artsy or crafty myself but I love reading cozies about people who are. I liked the wide range of ages of in this large group of friends and family. It was a bit slow to start but the ending was exciting.

The Seaside Knitters are at it again in this quiet cozy and it's always nice to visit. Well written and engaging.

I found this book to be heavy on description. I had trouble keeping track of all the characters and where they were in the story, Although the mystery itself had an interesting twist, this is not the cozy mystery I expected. The author has a knack for writing, but this wasn't my cup of tea.

I loved this book. It's like visiting old friends. The characters are great and the mystery interesting. I like that the "investigation" is gentle and community driven. I did suspect who the killer was by the middle of the book but it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the story. #ACrimeofaDifferentStripe #NetGalley

The latest installment in the Seaside Knitters Mystery series. I've read nearly all of them and it's better read in order. However, anyone could enjoy this book as a stand-alone. The setting is simply divine; a close-knit, coastal New England town. The characters are well-developed and the mysteries are always interesting enough but usually solvable before you reach the end.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

As I read this series, I love one book then find the next just OK. This entry seemed to dragged on and I found the main characters to be rather subdued. I think I’ll be passing on future entries.

Much to everyone's surprise in the Seaside Knitters group, Cass Halloran is pregnant and calmly knitting baby items along with the rest of the group. But there's trouble ahead when a famous photographer is invited to the opening reception of the local art cooperative. Izzy Perry's husband Sam has reservations about inviting his one-time mentor Harrison Grant to be the keynote speaker. Sam is closed mouthed about his reasons, but everyone soon learns Harrison Grant is a huge egomaniac. When Izzy stumbles over a dead body near the reception site, she and her friends try to piece together what happened and how the past influences the present. Whenever I read these books, I wish I had a close group of friends like these and knew how to knit!

This honest review is in exchange for an early release copy from Netgalley. A Crime of a Different Stripe by Sally Goldenbaum is the best book in the series so far. What a fantastic book. I'm so happy I got to read this book early because it was so good, but sad that now I have to wait for the next one even longer. The group of ladies in the series are such a kick. This group of Knitters does a great job solving the puzzle of a photographer. Everyone needs a group of friends like them.

Book- A crime of a different stripe
Author- Sally Goldenbaum
Genre- mystery fiction

📍Will be Published on-27th October 2020

📌The story is a murder mystery which revolves in a small town named Sea Harbour. A prominent photographer is found dead at his welcoming reception and all are panicking who would have the motive to kill an unknown person.

📌This is one of those 'age old' 'classic' murder mysteries where the local knitting group ladies try and solve the mystery. These days you get such rare books with no emotionally hampered characters or 'dark' characters with grey shades who commit crimes. But it has simple and sweet explanations towards the end to satisfy you.

📌The story is simple. So for people who read thrillers a lot,can guess the end quickly as many hints are dropped throughout the book.
But those who want a shift in genre other than romance or history etc will surely dwell into it!

📌I recommend it to 'NEWBIE' readers of mystery genre and to those who want a light read with no sentimental taxing!

I love this series and the setting and people of Sea Harbor, set in New England.

Whrr ER n a famous photographer is murdered, the knitters come together to solve the mystery especially since Sam is a suspect. The mystery takes you through many twists and turns and is overall a pretty intelligent addition to the cozy mystery world.

One of the things I love most in this book and the series as a whole is the fantastic friendships and it’s so well written you can almost imagine you’re part of their group.

I’m looking forward to the next book!

A cozy murder mystery that takes place in a small New England town called Sea Harbor. The guest speaker at an art reception never shows. He is later discovered murdered and a group of knitters decide to try to solve the crime. This is one of several books in a series. I enjoyed the book and the different characters in the knitting circle.

A Crime of a Different Stripe by Sally Goldenbaum is the 4th in the Seaside Knitters Society mystery series but carries on from the earlier Seaside Knitters series. Sea Harbor is the setting for a fund raiser for local artists with the guest of honor a person from Sam Perry’s past. His murder rocks the tight knit community. When it looks like Sam might be a suspect, Izzy, Cass, Nell and Birdie begin to look deeper into the visitor’s background.

This is a well executed mystery with intelligent female protagonists who have the strongest bonds of friendship. The sense of place makes the reader feel as if they are actually walking the beaches of Sea Harbor and becoming part of this group of friends. Add in a local recluse and a fascinating, pregnant newcomer and you won’t want to put this book down until you turn the last page.

The Seaside Knitters are in action once again and this time things are really dicey as Izzy is finding that Sam is still holding secrets from her, Cass is about to pop a baby out and a mysterious older man who begrudgingly befriended the knitters is looking pretty guilty for a murder that he definitely has a motive to commit! The knitters need to figure out this latest mysterious death before the art colony is jeopardized as well as their town and before one of their own is locked away for a murder they may not have committed. The characters are so endearingly real that you can't help but connect with them and feel like you are visiting old friends not just reading a book. The plots are well drafted to not only connect with the reader, but to draw you in and have you invested in the outcome. I absolutely love this series and can't wait to read what comes next!

Izzy and her friends are helping to open the new art center while Cass awaits the birth of her first baby. Sam has asked a famous photographer to headline the first artist lecture series, but he is missing as introductions are being made and found dead the next morning. How will these friends knit together when the do not know the victim nor why anyone would want him dead. A wonderful addition to this series.

A Crime of a Different Stripe by Sally Goldenbaum (Seaside Knitters #15) 4 stars

It is always a pleasure to read a Seaside Knitters cozy mystery. If you like your cozies on the quiet, intellectual side this series is for you. I have read this series since its first incarnation "Death by Cashmere" and enjoyed each one. The characters have become old familiar friends that you might visit once or twice a year. This mystery centers on the death of a visiting art lecturer. Harrison Grant, a famous photographer to the glitterati comes to Sea Harbor to teach a mini course. But he disappears during the Opening Reception and is found dead the next day off a cliff. There are several suspects, including Sam Perry, Izzy Perry's husband and one time student of Harrison Grant. It is up to the Seaside Knitters (Izzy, Birdie, Nell and Cass) to solve the mystery that endangers one of their own. This series is more a character study and putting together myriad facts to solve the mystery. For the Seaside Knitters, solving the mystery is like resolving a disturbance in the "force" that surrounds their community. This books is a quiet respite from the turmoil of current events.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC
