Finished reading the Mercy Watson series and looking for another neighborhood to fall in love with? Sydney and Taylor's tree is a great place to look! These two unlikely friends, a skunk and hedgehog, will delight you. Sydney is a loyal friend, and Taylor is a dreamer. In this installment, Taylor wants to fly. What do you think will help him fly? Feathers? A blanket? No, but you'll be surprised with the answer. The color illustrations are sweet. A wonderful bridge for readers moving from picture to chapter books or families sharing read aloud and moving to longer books. Recommend for all libraries who serve the under 10.

There are a few things about the layout of the book that I didn't care for, as an example, having the text over darker artwork while there was lighter space lower on the page. I also didn't care for the one page with leaves and white text as it was busy.
