Um...I’m a little lost for words! This book was definitely not literary fiction. I’m not sure what box you would put it in but it was a kind of YA-fantasy-thriller mash-up. And it was ...not great. The character development was minimal, the plot was thin and many characters and plot elements were just dumped on you without context. The dialogue and the sex scenes were cheesy and so the writing was a bit poor. There was a bit of sex and plenty of blood. I won’t even try and describe the story. Suffice it to say it’s largely about a family of were-leopards (like werewolves only, you know, leopards) who serve their country clandestinely. And take on terrorists every other day. Oh, there’s also a witch or two, a vampire and an actual werewolf.

Strangely though I still kind of enjoyed it. I whizzed through it like it was some kind of guilty pleasure. One thing I did like and that gave me a few chuckles was that the POTUS depicted in the story, although called Bridge, seemed to be modelled very closely on the current occupant of the White House and mimicked his habits, mannerisms and other characteristics perfectly 🤭.
