I enjoyed reading about Pippa's self confidence journey. There were some phrases we don't hear often and hard words, but that's how we learn. Have a dictionary nearby and enjoy the story.

Such a great book! A fun story with a lesson to learn woven throughout. I loved the cute illustrations, not too many, just enough. The only "negative," the story did have some harder words in it then I thought it would for the age group. Be sure to read the book first so you can go over the difficult words. It was a joy to read the story and I would recommend it to anyone who asked!

As an ebook this is not the most enjoyable children's story, however if you have a physical copy this is sure to please younger readers.

Pippa is a small frog. She doesn't believe it's possible for her to ever jump across the pond until she is given the shoes of a jumping legend, and convinced that believing will make it so.

When the residents of a neighboring pond challenge them to a contest, "winner take all," a lot of Mulberry Pond residents are depending on Pippa to win for them.

This story is typical, with the additional silliness of a community who works themselves up to believe they can win, primarily on hype. However, two or three characters elevate it to interesting. And the drawings make it cute. (The illustrations in this book are charming colored pencil! Very well done.) In addition, someone predicts "Doom!" so there's suspense!

Two drawbacks. 1) Although we are told that some characters are happy or concerned, etc., we don't experience it with them. I found it hard to feel for any of them; even Pippa or the overwrought overworked Crimson Rabbit. 2) I question some vocabulary for the "Children's Beginner Readers" category ages 8-12: emblazoned, "Oh, pish," rapscallions, tomfoolery, bulbous, fuddy-duddy, fiddle-faddle, , etc. Possibly (regional) phrases common to South Carolina where the book was published.

3.6/5 Stars Excellent Illustrations.

This was a cute little children's book that reminded me a lot of Frog and Toad. The illustrations reminded me of Frog and Toad, too. I think it was an adorable little story that was a quick read and I think kids will really like it.

This is a tale of knowing that practice and determination is what it takes to get what you want in life. There are no short cuts, like owning special shoes to truly help you.
This is a great early reader. Reminds me of Frog and Toad. Maybe it’s just because Pippa is a frog. Pippa is such a cute little frog. This is a great story for early elementary to middle grade.

Pippa’s jumping shoes by Joyce Magnin is a great children’s book. This book is full of character and adventure. I love that this is not only a fun read but a read that will help to teach my child an important lesson. Both my children and I enjoy it!

This is a children's/middle grade book. I loved Pippa's character, and I also loved the message behind this book. I read this book with my daughter. This was not my daughter's favorite book, but she said it was good. I liked this book. It is a quick read, and I think it took me and my daughter around 30 minutes to read this book. This book had cute pictures. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Journeyforth) or author (Joyce Magnin) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Pippa’s Jumping Shoes is a beautiful story about a young frog called Pippa who dreams of being a jumper. When the Mayor of another pond requests a challenge where Pippa and her loved ones could loose their pond in a 'winner takes all' challenge, Pippa decides to enter to try and win the jumping competition. The only problem is, Pippa is tiny.

With help from her friends Pippa learns to have confidence in herself and believe in herself.

This is such a lovely book and children aged 8-11 will love it.
